Composer Jonathan Snipes admits in the liner notes that he wasn't a big horror movie buff growing up but his music expertise would tell you otherwise. Mixing electronic beats with eerie ambiance, his moody accompaniment to the terrific horror movie Starry Eyes is just what the doctor ordered. Fans of John Carpenter, Goblin and the like will find much to like here.

Director Curtis Harrington dovetails into a sci-fi vampire hybrid with terrific results. The cast is a mixture of young and old actors with Dennis Hopper, John Saxon and Basil Rathbone along for the ride. Florence Marley is stunning as the title character. An exquisite looking blu-ray.

For years this movie was notorious since Lynda (Wonder Woman) Carter appeared in some 'revealing' scenes but frankly it's Marjoe Gortner's show all the way as the 'outlaw' who takes his expertise with a gun a little too far. A great road movie filled with action and excitement...this blu-ray has a great print and plenty of extras to occupy your time.
Evil houses are a staple of horror cinema and one of the more overlooked versions arrived in 1976. Karen Black and Oliver Reed are a couple beset with problems when they rent out a summer house. The tension and suspense build to an unforgettable climax that is as downbeat as they come. There are a host of extras on this disc as well. A great package hampered only slightly by the lousy cover art.
Francis Ford Coppola directed his version of Bram Stokers Dracula over 20 (!) years ago and this great new blu-ray presents the film is a new light with spectacular video and audio and a host of extras presided over by Coppola himself including a new introduction by the man. If Keanu Reeves wasn't in the film I would say it's virtually flawless but alas his performance still stinks. However Gary Oldman is so good as Count Dracula it really doesn't matter how good or bad the supporting cast is.
Leave it to director John Carpenter to deliver the goods when it comes to translating the work of Stephen King to the sliver screen (not as easy at it sounds). The story of a car 'seducing' a teenager as he comes into his own is done remarkably well with great performances left and right. This special edition blu-ray contains numerous extras including some deleted scenes that are interesting (for a change).
The Brood is David Cronenbergs version of Kramer Vs. Kramer only more accurate (his words). Taking the idea of anger manifesting itself into deadly territories is a great idea and the film is peppered with several startling moments you aren't sure to forget anytime soon. The Criterion blu-ray is loaded with extras including Cronenberg's early short film Stereo. A must have!
Some might label Enforcer 'retro' but be that as it may these guys combine the early stages of thrash metal with the diverseness of New Wave of British Heavy Metal with a splash of modern day production to deliver metal the European way (a different breed versus U.S. stuff). Nothing gimmicky here...just raw, in-your-face music...the way it was meant to be played.
Jerry Lawler might be known as a commentator to younger fans, but his legacy spans decades as this WWE blu-ray chronicles so well. Lawler tells his own story with recollections from a host of talking heads, including a weathered looking Vince McMahon. A generous amount of archive footage (including the late, great Andy Kaufman) as well as classic mid-south matches adorn the 2 disc set. Wrestling fans will either have this or need it...simple as that.
