Joaquin Phoenix has never been among my favorite actors. But in this movie, he's playing a role as close to tailor-made for him as I can imagine. And, he knocks it out of the park. This is one of those films that makes me wiggle uncomfortably, yet I just can't look away. I also enjoyed the setting: California beach communities about 50 years ago. While not for everyone, this movie rewards an open-minded viewing experience.

Despite being made almost 30 years ago, this movie holds up so well that it remains among the best movies of all time. In an Oscar-winning role, Dustin Hoffman is terrific. But it's the underrated and stellar performance of Tom Cruise that gives this movie its lifeblood. Another huge plus: the ending is not your typical Hollywood copout. A marvelous movie on every level possible.

Absolutely spellbinding account of various incidents in the life of Steve Jobs. I'm close to computer illiterate, but my shortcomings in that area did not in the least impact my understanding or affection for this movie. Yet another wonderful screenwriting job by Aaron Sorkin, who also worked similar magic with "The Social Network." All that plus excellent performances by lead actors Fassbender and Winslet. One of the best movies of the year.

Saw this movie in the theater before buying the blu-ray. It was easily the best movie I've seen in the past few years. It's the true story of how a newspaper team took a step-by-step approach to uncovering a massive scandal involving pedophile priests in the Boston area and those who were complicit in the scandal. Is this Sony BDP-S3700 Blu-ray Player the 2016 model which replaces the Sony BDP-S3500 2015 model? If so, are there any differences between the two models?
Yes, this is the new, 2016 model replacing the BDP-S3500. As I did not own the prior model, I do not know what the differences are with the new model. What I do know is that the BD-S3700 I own has performed flawlessly since I began using it about a month ago (and I use it for an average of 190 hours a month). It loads very quickly, plays beautifully and the price is right.

This Sony BDPS6500 Blu-ray player features built-in Wi-Fi. To build a complete 3D home theater system, we recommend you purchase a 3D TV, 3D glasses designed for the TV, high-speed HDMI cable and an A/V receiver that is compatible with 3D products.
What setting do you use for 7.1 sound?
Cannot get 7.1 working. I must be missing in the setup. Help
I had the same problem, which the manual doesn't address. Finally figured it out: in the audio setup mode, the unit defaults to "Stereo." To get either 7.1 or 5.1 sound, you need to change "Stereo" to "Surround." That should do it.
