When this movie was released in theaters, a number of major critics panned it, which is why I was surprised by how much I really liked it. A fascinating story, it was well-presented and well-acted, especially by Ms. Lawrence and by Virginia Madsen, who played a character role unlike any I'd ever seen her play before. Definitely worth a two-hour investment in time.

Have purchased many different blu-ray players over the years, including a very expensive Oppo model. In my experience, the most reliable players come from Sony, as a prior Sony lasted longer and performed just as well as the Oppo model for which I paid five times what the Sony cost. This Sony model is no exception: An excellent player that loads quickly, plays beautifully and cost well under $100. Lesson learned: When it comes to blu-ray players, stick with Sony.

Have had a number of blu-ray players over the years, including a very expensive Oppo model, but had never tried a Samsung until this one. After less than eight hours of use, it began freezing and skipping on a disc I knew played fine. The next day I returned the Samsung to Best Buy and replaced it with the Sony BDP-S3700, which has worked flawlessly since I got it.

Is this Sony BDP-S3700 Blu-ray Player the 2016 model which replaces the Sony BDP-S3500 2015 model? If so, are there any differences between the two models?
Yes, this is the new, 2016 model replacing the BDP-S3500. As I did not own the prior model, I do not know what the differences are with the new model. What I do know is that the BD-S3700 I own has performed flawlessly since I began using it about a month ago (and I use it for an average of 190 hours a month). It loads very quickly, plays beautifully and the price is right.

This Sony BDPS6500 Blu-ray player features built-in Wi-Fi. To build a complete 3D home theater system, we recommend you purchase a 3D TV, 3D glasses designed for the TV, high-speed HDMI cable and an A/V receiver that is compatible with 3D products.
What setting do you use for 7.1 sound?
Cannot get 7.1 working. I must be missing in the setup. Help
I had the same problem, which the manual doesn't address. Finally figured it out: in the audio setup mode, the unit defaults to "Stereo." To get either 7.1 or 5.1 sound, you need to change "Stereo" to "Surround." That should do it.
