Back to the Future Blu Ray - Awesome Transfer!

I won't review or ramble on about the movies, it has been almost 30 years since BTTF 1, and most know what these three movies are about.
I will rave, however, about the quality of the Blu Ray transfer of the movie - in Blu Ray, it is crystal clear - I was floored by how crisp, clear and gorgeous the Blu Ray transfer was. I viewed it on a 55" Samsung Curve, and it was beautiful. Not all Blu Ray transfers of older movies fare as well. What is also nice is the movie is 1:85:1 Anamorphic Widescreen which means you get to view it full screen - no "watchband" like 2:35:1 here... that is always nice.
What is a bonus is that after almost 30 years, I STILL enjoy these movies. And more importantly, so do my 13 year old boys - which says a lot about how well done these were - it is very entertaining. I saw the original first movie in the theaters when it first came out, and I am still entertained from beginning to end.
So here we have a timeless set of movies which is still entertaining today, and one where the Blu Ray transfer allows you to watch it in crystal clear HD. Awesome.

Finally- the original film Version on Blu-Ray

The film "pretty woman" is a modern classic. It became a huge box office hit in the early 90s and made a superstar out of Julia Roberts. The film's release on DVD has been a muddled affair as a special edition version of the film that added all sorts of deleted scenes was the only version available. These scenes in my opinion took away from the original film which was perfect in it's original form. Sadly, the original theatrical version had been unavailable unless you owned a VHS copy.
The Blu-Ray version here thankfully IS THE ORIGINAL THEATRICAL VERSION. The picture quality is clear and you can enjoy Pretty Woman without having to suffer through those awful scenes that the director frankly didn't feel worked either. The blu ray menu is gorgeous with a multipanel layout showing Vivienne's scene from the movie and the corresponding preliminary costume design artwork in another panel. James Newton Howard's amazing (and sadly still unreleased) orchestral scores plays in the background. There are loads of extras that have been offered on previous edition. On this version the main draw is the original film.
I'm very happy to have this version back in my collection.

I have been a huge Batman fan since I was a kid. From the comics, to the movies, to the cartoons and the games, but I absolutely loved this series the most. This series really hit the darker side of Batman and gave it a little more of a realistic touch. Batman The Dark Knight Rises, in my opinion, made Bane one of the scariest, most intense villains in any super hero movie I've seen in 2012. I think this movie did a great job ending this specific series, and even still it left me wanting more, but I was very satisfied with the ending. It was intense, fun, and even amusing at times. All around I think its a great movie, a great series and for me it was a definite buy! Hope everyone else can enjoy this movie/series as much as I did.

Rarely has a film left me speechless, much less a comic book inspired film. Christopher Nolan's rendition of the DC comic character has. "THE DARK KNIGHT" may well be the best comic book film I have ever seen. Christopher Nolan, along with Jonathan Nolan has crafted a screenplay of nearly unbelievable proportions. The duo has taken the "Batman" mythos and has turned it into their own; what results is a film that captures the essence of the comic book and combines it to a truly gripping and engaging psychological crime drama-action-adventure. You heard that right, a psychological crime drama and an adventure.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off has an elegantly simple, effective story structure, a classic example of separate plotlines that move concurrently, then tie themselves together at the end. There are two plot threads in this movie: (1) The story of what Ferris, Cameron and Sloane do during the day off, and how these characters, primarily Cameron, are affected and changed by it. (2) The attempts of Ferris' sister Jean and Dean of Students Edward R. Rooney to expose Ferris. At the end of the movie, the two plotlines converge and resolve each other when Ferris, Jean and Rooney come together at last, and it's Jean, changed by the events of her own "day off," who finally saves Ferris from Rooney.
