Finally great to have this film on Blu Ray. A very unique, creepy film. If you are a horror fan, you can not go wrong here. Unlike most scary movies it is something that hasn't been done ten thousand times before.

Another Zom Com

This movie was much better than I expected. The right mix of a romantic comedy, and zombie flicks. Max works at a Halloween store and has a snobby girlfriend named Evelyn. Evelyn comes into the shop one day and sees a Genie idle that looks like the devil. She wishes that she and Max will stay together forever. Soon after, she's hit by a bus and appears to be dead. Some time goes by and Max hangs out with Olivia. Evelyn comes out of the grave and lives life as if nothing has changed. Max tries to get rid of her and hide her away from Olivia. If you like quirky comedies and zombies, you'll love BURYING THE EX!!!

Another 80.s Slasher film not filmed in the 80's

The film takes place in Broomfield, Michigan 1984 (filmed in Canada, okay.) Four teen couples take off for a nearby cabin, but run out of gas along the way, making their way to the minor subplot home of the proverbial feral slasher cannibal. The opening of the film attempts to do an old grindhouse film by having film marks ingrained in it. Instead of doing the entire feature this way, they just do the opening scene, while the rest of the film is in crisp digital, except for one critical scene where they pull the "scene missing" film burning nonsense. The movie uses stuff from the 80's such as a Rubik's Cube, mix cassette tape, LPs decorating the wall, T-shirts, magazines, clothes with studs, pot that requires a few joints to get high, and a picture of Reagan. Robert Patrick plays a politically incorrect principal. Perhaps he was another 80's throwback.
The film had the token Black Guy (Stephan James) and virgin (Kendra Leigh Timmins) so we know who dies first and who survives...right? After they discover the slasher, the plan is to wait it out in his house until morning rather than to run away in different directions. Otherwise the film would be too short. It does contain some humor, but only when you consider it as a spoof of 80's slashers.

One of the best Zombie films ever made.

It's as if while making "Dead Snow" Tommy Wirkola realized that intestines are the key to a unique zombie film. "Dead Snow 2" has at least three separate occasions where someone's intestines are used to kill the undead or someone who was once living. The film keeps its ability to find humor in everything. The comedy always tends to teeter on being raunchy and absolutely overboard, but is relatively harmless and fun overall. The ridiculousness only seems to add to the film's amusement factor.
Being bitten by a zombie doesn't make you turn in this world. The victim generally just dies from a zombie bite. However, Herzog has the ability to resurrect whoever he sees fit as does Martin who's now in possession of one of Herzog's arms. The introduction of magic to the zombie genre is an intriguing one since it's something that's either relatively new or not nearly as worn out as the apocalypse or an epidemic. Combined with the familiar "kill the head and the rest will die" concept, "Dead Snow 2" is the messy, blood-splattered goulash of something old mixed with something new.
The introduction of the Zombie Squad both hurts and benefits the films. Zombie Squad is an American trio of nerds who have prepared for zombies for quite some time, but have never encountered them. Consisting of Blake (Ingrid Haas), the "Star Wars" obsessed Monica (Jocelyn DeBoer), and the leader of the group named Daniel (Martin Starr), Zombie Squad is mostly an excuse for more comedic relief who serve more of a purpose than that poor sidekick zombie (played by Kristoffer Joner) who keeps getting dismantled and brought back to life again and again. Zombie Squad is silly and yet useful. The characters may leave you feeling torn since they're annoying one minute and somewhat exciting to be around the next.
The film throws police into the very predictable stereotype of being downright incompetent. Major Stubbe (Daniel Berge Halvorsen) is an utter buffoon as he rambles on about seagull translators and nearly breaks his leg while trying to kick open a door. On the upside, the exquisite practical effects return and flourish during the climactic and bloody battle sequence. The very last scene of the film is so ludicrous as the combination of the song playing, the movie "Dead Snow 2" decides to reference," and the vile act taking place rattles your brain as you try to decide if it's funny or just blatantly ludicrous.
"Dead Snow 2: Red vs Dead" is even bloodier and more excessive than the first film, but that's what makes it so entertaining. It's a one of a kind bloodbath filled with guts and gore. So grab a pile of intestines and the nearest severed head. "Dead Snow 2" is without a doubt one of the most preposterously bonkers and genre-pleasing zombie sequels ever made.

Don't go out after sundown

As a huge fan of the original, I was pretty skeptical about this film. I figured it was simply another re-make where the gore and nudity would be amped up, but nothing of interest added to the story. I was pleasantly surprised by this movie, which isn't a remake at all, and while the gore and nudity are amped up, the story presented is pretty strong and interesting.
As the film opens, the town of Texarkana is celebrating Halloween with the annual showing of the Charles B. Pierce film "The Town that Dreaded Sundown", a schlocky 1970's horror film which showcased the murders of the Phantom, a hooded killer that stalked the town's lovers lane, and seemingly disappeared. Two teens decide to leave the drive-in and make the mistake of heading straight to the local lovers' lane, where the are immediately attacked by a hooded figure. It seems the a new Phantom Killer is back in Texarkana to carry on the killing spree.
I like that the filmmakers built on the Phantom Killer legacy, and treated the original film with respect. They didn't sacrifice suspense for all out gore either, as there are several tense scenes throughout the film. The supporting cast is great; Ed Lauter. Veronica Cartwright, Gary Cole and the late Edward Hermann.
The only thing keeping me from giving this film 5 stars is the incredibly stupid ending. The final 10 minutes almost derail the entire film with it's "Urban Legend" like over-explanation. I was so irritated at the ending, I almost knocked this down to a 2 star review...but the preceding 80 minutes were just too good. So I will strongly urge viewers to watch and enjoy....but be prepared for a disappointing ending.

Not your typical Zombie flic

"Thoughtful" and "somber" are not words one traditionally uses to describe anything starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, especially since his career rebirth, but those words apply to Maggie, the most surprising film of his muscular career. Surprising because the film deals with a world in the midst of a zombie apocalypse, but you won't find Schwarzenegger stacking up piles of undead corpses or anything like that. Instead, Maggie is an affecting family drama that should appeal to fans of The Walking Dead rather than those expecting Dawn of the Dead.
Directed by graphic designer Henry Hobson, the atmosphere is a portrait of misery and despair in the wake of a zombie virus outbreak. Schwarzenegger is Wade, a stoic Midwestern farmer who tracks down his runaway daughter Maggie (Abigail Breslin) and discovers she's been infected by "The Turn". While the worst of the chaos seems to be over, the world has settled into a "quarantine and eliminate" scenario for the diseased, but Wade isn't about to let that happen to his terrified daughter. Instead he chooses to bring her back home where his second wife (Joely Richardson) and her two kids await for the morbid family reunion.
Hobson and screenwriter John Scott 3 explore parental denial and terminal illness, while the whole zombie aspect is basically just a grim window dressing. They're more concerned with the dynamics of a family in a perpetual state of mourning, and the distressing effect illness can have on the family structure. Wade is doing what any parent would want to do for their dying child, which is take care of them and make their final days comfortable, but he's also completely delusional and unprepared for the reality. Everyone, including his wife, knows what needs to be done but he either doesn't see it or refuses to accept it. This doesn't make for the most exciting movie in the world; in fact it's pretty slow even for 90-minutes in length, but the emotions are agonizingly real. Even the happy moments, like a fun, romantic night out between Maggie and her infected boyfriend, is tinged with sadness.
It isn't long before Maggie's deteriorating condition becomes a concern for more than just Wade. The police aggressively push for her to be quarantined, but Wade persistently acts as if he and his daughter are the only two people left in the entire world. The focus on Wade's grief takes away from some of the deeper issues that could have been explored, like the conflict within the household itself. But one has to appreciate that the film doesn't go in the most obvious of directions. There are only a couple of scenes where Wade is forced to kill and there is weight behind those decisions that Schwarzenegger carries on his broad shoulders. Interestingly, his action-hero past adds certain humbleness, an unexpected gravity to his performance. He doesn't need to say a lot to be effective here. Will Maggie steer Schwarzenegger away from blockbusters? Probably not, but it goes a long way in showing that in the right kind of film and the perfect role, Schwarzenegger is capable of more than being an expendable terminator.

In Season 3 of this supernatural drama, Nick (David Giuntoli) deals with some surprising aftereffects of his zombie attack-and the outcome is more positive than he could have anticipated. Meanwhile, he works to rebuild his relationship with Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch), whose newfound knowledge of Nick's world leads to her being increasingly involved in his Grimm work. Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) asks Rosalee (Bree Turner) to marry him, but their impending nuptials raise concerns among their families about the appropriateness of a mixed-Wesen wedding, especially one that has a Grimm as best man. Meanwhile, Adalind (Claire Coffee) continues her fight to regain her powers, but with a baby on the way and an all-out war brewing between her and the royal family, she may have gotten in over her head.

This is a creature show. Lots of cool creatures every episode. A show made up of Grimm modern day fairy tales brought to life. The Grimm is also very sexy! Definitely a show that will have many more seasons.

I love Lg tvs. I own 3 of them. I have a Lg 3d tv and two regular 47" tvs. They are so crystal clear. I have them all hooked up to home theatre systems. They also sound great right through original spekers. I recommend of course using and amp and at least 7 speakers. This gives the 7.1 experience. I have had other tvs in the past and I am completely sold on Lg.

The third season of The Walking Dead finds former police officer Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his ragtag group of Zombie-apocalypse survivors hopeful that a prison will offer true protection from the masses of undead. Though the fortified walls do, indeed, provide them with a certain level of security, the group faces a very real threat from the living. Though Andrea (Laurie Holden) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) find temporary shelter within a seemingly Utopian community led by a man who refers to himself as "the Governor", time reveals he is a control-obsessed sadist hiding many secrets of his own.

The best zombie show on cable tv.

This Blu-Ray set is really awesome! The "Zombie Head Aquarium" is a hard plastic case with two plastic aquariums with either two or three (five total) severed heads with a few decorative twigs, both aquariums are removable and the lids come off, you can fill the two aquariums with water and put the lids back on. The case itself takes four (4) AAA batteries on the bottom, and right-side up, the front of the case, the "3" for "SEASON 3" is the button to turn on the six little lights in the case that will illuminate the two aquariums, when put back into the case after filling them with water. The Blu-Ray DVD set fits into a sleeve in the back of the case. Batteries are separate. The Walker Heads are attached to a clip that clips onto the back of the aquariums, so that the heads gives the illusion that they are floating.
The Blu-Ray DVDs consist of five discs (Discs 1-4 are the Episodes. Disc 1 - Episodes 1-4. Disc 2 - Episodes 5-8. Disc 3 - Episodes 9-12. Disc 4 - Episodes 13-16. Disc 5 - Bonus Features.) The Bonus Features includes: Episodes 4, 5, 8, 9, & 15 have Commentary; Behind-The-Features of The Walking Dead Season 3; and Deleted Scenes from Episodes 3, 5, 6, 10, 11, & 12. Inserts include the directions on how to set up the Zombie Head Aquarium, and the Special Offers insert for The Walking Dead and other AMC TV Series.
You can't beat The Walking Dead. The story is very addictive. You really feel for the characters, The zombies are very scary looking. Thanks to Greg Nicotero.

What's great about it: Easy to set up just wish it had simulated water and didn't have to add any.
What's not so great: Adding water. I would not insert the bluray box set behind the water . If it were pushed over your disc would be ruined.
