Slim and sleek personal printer
on May 27, 2026
Posted by: LouRevue
Usually when you get a small/sleek printer, their functionality can be somewhat limited. Either they have a small paper tray or only print or just whatever. Still though, with today's multi-function printers this seems to be a thing of the past however there are some instances where smaller is better.
This 6155 printer is a personal printer for sure. You won't be churning out stacks of presentations with this any time soon. This is more for personal printing needs. I like the small footprint of this printer. It's very sleek looking, short/skinny/etc, pretty much what you'd want in a personal printer.
It has some decent "stats" as it were, it's somewhat inexpensive, small footprint, all-in-one functionality, touchscreen and app printing/capability. Paper tray is 100 sheets which is plenty enough for just about anyone or any printing job you may have. The instant ink subscription enables you to always have ink on hand. And for a small(er) printer which might be used considerably less than your large office printer, always having some ink on hand is never a bad thing.

Nice, medium duty printer for home/office
on May 23, 2026
Posted by: LouRevue
I've been using HP printers for quite some time now and this one is no different in terms of reliability or performance.
From low end inkjets to higher end laser printers, I've used numerous different model HP printers and I've never really had any major issue with them. With this printer, this offers a great option for a small office and/or work setting pretty easily. This printer offers your standard all-in-one performance that you need to whatever productivity options you need for work/school.
25 PPM which is pretty fast for most purposes; decent sized paper tray at 250 sheets. Printing is pretty easy using the HP companion smart app. I haven't gotten to the point where I need to swap cartridges so I can't comment on how long they last. Based on previous experience though, I don't see any issues with ink cartridges either from the cartridges themselves or the availability of them thanks to the smart ink system.
This printer is a tad on the larger size so that's really the only big con I can think of.

Top notch touch for your flight sim setup
on May 23, 2026
Posted by: LouRevue
I think for PC gamers, having a sweet racing or flight sim setup is peak gaming. I've been interested in getting both of these setup for my system for the longest time so it's great that I can start with my flight sim setup.
Primarily been playing Microsoft flight sim along with some Ace Combat thrown in there for good measure. Biggest thing for me was the "authenticity" of the equipment for my setup. I didn't want some cheap plastic looking joystick as my main throttle so I wanted something that looked real world and this Moza racing stick fir the bill quite nicely.
The fit/feel of the joystick is great. The form and flow of the controller, the clicks of the buttons and overall movement are really what I was looking for in my main throttle joystick. The feel more than anything it what really stood out for me. It just has a great feel to it especially when gaming. The feedback on the stick is top notch as well.
My rig overall is still a work in progress but this centerpiece, if you will, has earned its place in my setup and hopefully will last for some time.

Good entry level PC for home/small business
on May 23, 2026
Posted by: LouRevue
Pretty much a no frills PC for small office/work/school needs. Powerful enough to handle most day to day tasks but without breaking the bank.
From a specifications perspective, this might be the most jaw dropping PC out there but this can still get the job done for what you need it to. AMD Ryzen processor allows enough power to run pretty much any application you need without issue. 16GB RAM is decent enough. There is a second free RAM slot should you feel the need to update/upgrade. It's DDR5 RAM so fast enough for the time being. Only a 512GB hard drive but it is a NVME so it's fast at least. You can enough expansion slots/USB for additional storage options if you get to that point.
You won't be doing any gaming on this PC since it's integrated graphics AND the PSU on this is pretty low. From a graphics perspective though, it'll function properly on any HD monitor so no issue there.
Overall though, for basic school work or even small office needs. this is a great little PC to have setup and used. Decent power and options ensure this will be usable for quite some time.

Excellent productivity laptop
on May 9, 2026
Posted by: LouRevue
If you're in the market for a decent, do-most-anything laptop that won't break the bank, this Acer offering is worth a look.
Decent specs on this one. 16GB memory along with 1TB of storage. Responsive touch screen with lay flat hinge design and newer Ryzen AI chipset.
I found this laptop to be quite capable for just about all "standard" processes. While you won't be gaming on this laptop anytime soon, for most other productivity activities like ChatGPT, spreadsheets/powerpoints, media consumption and the like, this thing works quite well for all those activities.
The specs on this laptop are enough that it'll process whatever you need it to. I didn't get the chance to test any processor intensive video or image tasks, I think it should handle most any task you throw at this without issue.
Touch screen is nice and responsive. Wprks great with the lay flat hinge on this laptop for content consumption.
Overall, very nice addition for someone looking for a do-all laptop that's relatively inexpensive and lightweight.

Great keyboard from Corsair
on May 5, 2026
Posted by: LouRevue
Finding myself really digging this keyboard from Corsair. Slowly getting used to the size/layout. Normally I use a full size keyboard for gaming however I have started trying out 75% and even a couple 60% ones to get a better feel and such.
The overall build of this keyboard is super nice. With it being machined out of aluminum, there is both a nice look/feel to it in addition to the weight which I'm starting to like. It feels like a sturdy, expensive piece of equipment (which it is). Also the performance is quite nice too.
It's quiet. I know lots of people love their clicky/clacky keyboard but I prefer something a bit more muted for my gaming keyboard. Keystrokes feel very crisp while being quiet and seemingly quite responsive to the touch. I know the keys on here are top notch and they feel/work like they do. RGB on the keyboard seems ok. It's not too muted nor is it super duper seizure inducing light show. Very nice and professional looking.
Overall a great keyboard both in operation and build quality

Nice upgrade to the system
on May 5, 2026
Posted by: LouRevue
Like most people, I've been using the mic on my headset for communicating online. It works and no real issues with it however, every once in awhile, the mic will cut out along with the headset or some other issue will pop up with the system. I opted to use this stand alone mic along with my newer headset for my PC system in hopes it'll give me a more reliable setup.
I'll be honest, it takes a little while getting used to the stand alone mic if you've never used one before. I will say that it is a little more convenient having this separate peripheral however I do recommend getting a boom arm or something to mount this mic to. I'm looking for something similar just to allow me greater range of motion with this and putting it wherever I want to.
Performance wise, I see no issues with this setup in terms of reliability. I haven't had any issues with the mic cutting out or getting crossed out/over with the headset mic. Everything seems to be working great for the time being.
My companions have also noted how different/better my voice sounds now with this mic. You have the option to adjust/refine your voice with this mic as well as some built-in faetures that enhance overall sound and such.

Slick looking controller
on May 3, 2026
Posted by: LouRevue
Despite me being a PC gamer, I use controllers for my gameplay. I'm a Playstation convert so I just couldn't get used to mouse and keyboard when making the switch :(
Using a vast variety of controllers in my time, I've had the opportunity to use controllers from a variety of manufacturers. While the OEM controllers are nice, they generally don't last long and often break down pretty quick from my experience.
This GameSir controller was pretty nice looking and offers some features that are better than your normal controller. The controller has a a couple mappable buttons both underneath the controller as well as 2 more near the bumpers which is cool. I find the paddle buttons are relatively easy to push and aren't too out of the way when gaming.
The optical buttons is interesting as well as they're supposed to last longer than your analog buttons liek with OEM controllers. Haven't had this controller long enough to test this but it's one of the things I'm looking to track with this controller.
Probably the biggest feature for me is the "ANTI stick-drift" claim from this manufacturer. Biggest issue I've had with other controllers is stick drift. Hopefully this one will last longer than OEM controllers did.

Great addition to the gaming headset collection
on April 30, 2026
Posted by: LouRevue
I've been able to test out quite a few gaming headsets and this one is a strong competitor in that market. It provides great sound and compatible with all platforms making this the one headset you'll need to get into the gaming action.
From the wireless standpoint, this is probably one of the better ones I've used. There's no lag with the connection and the connection is solid or has been very solid for me. I've had other headsets where the sound would cut in/out pretty frequently even for a "high end" headset. This one, haven't had any issue with sound cutting out which is just splendid.
I've been seeing a few manufacuturers incorporating swappable batteris in their devices and this is something I can get behind. Having switched to wireless headsets, it's quite liberating to not be tied down with cables anymore however, the battery life on some of these headsets leaves a lot to be desired. No more with these swappable batteries as I can now just keep them charged up and swap out whenever needed. Great feature in my opinion.

Best robot vac I've used so far
on April 30, 2026
Posted by: LouRevue
I've used a couple different robot vacs in my time and this one has to be the best one I've gotten to try. Setup is pretty simple and the training of the robot vac is a bit nicer than what it was with some of my older model ones. The fact this does both dry vac and wet mop makes this is great addition to every household.
Most of the robot vacs I've used were just the "basic" ones that vacuumed. This being one of the newer ones where it's both a vacuum and mop, offers a great boost in functionality and time saving activities.
With the companion app, it's pretty easy to setup and operate the robot vac that way. Once you get the unit trained for your floor layout and whatever schedule you want to run it on then it'll be pretty much on auto-pilot after that point.
Power wise, it does a pretty good job at sucking up all the little bits of dirt and debris around my place. After each run, it leaves my floors looking clean and dirt free which is what you're looking for here. Also, it tasks a little less time than other models did which is nicer as well.

Excellent laptop for everyday use
By LouRevue from Washington, DC
Having had the chance to use this laptop, I must say it’s quite an impressive model for almostn any use. With an abundance of features housed in a sleek, stylish body, it’s a solid laptop for anyone in the market for a new/replacement laptop.
Using a 7th gen i5 dual core processor, the laptop functions on par with just about any laptop in its price range. With 8GB of RAM (12GB max) and a 1TB hard drive, it offers plenty of speed and room for all your files and enough power/speed to perform almost any task.
As far as the aesthetics go, this is an impressive looking laptop with clean lines, brushed aluminum cover and beveled edges. It’s a very nice looking laptop no doubt and the design, overall, is quite appealing. It comes with a full size keyboard as well as backlit keys which is a nice touch. Only gripe with the keyboard are the arrow buttons as the Up/Down buttons are smaller due to keyboard layout. The power button is on the right side of the laptop which is a bit unique as well as a dedicated volume button. There are 2 USB 3.0 ports as well as 1 USB 2.0 port, HDMI, SD Card and USB-C port. There is no CD drive for anyone wondering. The laptop (closed) is only about ¾ inch tall however it’s a bit wider than most due to the full size keyboard.
Power/performance. Using a dual-core processor I was under the impression this would be relatively slow and have choppy performance when opening multiple programs. Being this is the latest gen processor from Intel, this is not the case. Opening 2-3 programs at once was done with relative ease and switching between them was pretty flawless. The 8GB RAM comes in quite handy here and even with a 5400 RPM HDD, this laptop was able to perform tasks with very good speed. Battery life is pretty good. Using it “normally” and leaving it on for about 5-6 hours, there was about 50% battery left. Also, one very noteworthy benefit to this laptop, it doesn’t get that hot when left on for long periods of time which is VERY nice.
The display is probably the most impressive feature on here. A full 1080p display is quite vibrant and displays bright and dark colors extremely well. Those wanting to watch Netflix/Hulu will have no issues with the display. In addition to visuals, the sound from this laptop is equally impressive. For watching movies or just playing music, the speakers on this laptop deliver quite nicely without too much reverberation or distorted sound.
One of my initial thoughts of this being a 2-in-1 was that the tablet was an afterthought/gimmick. Having used previous 2-in-1 laptops, I was expecting the tablet functionality to be quite lackluster. Again, this was not the case. In this unit, you have, both, a well built laptop as well as tablet on-the-go device. Once in tablet mode, the screen orients itself to that of a normal tablet using Windows Tiles. Touch sensitivity is surprisingly smooth and using paint programs worked well without any lag or drops in sensitivity. Using the tablet form works really well when you want to sit back and watch videos or movies. Very nice.
A couple concerns with this laptop were;
The hard drive. While it’s a large 1TB drive, I would’ve expected something, at least, in the 7200 RPM range. Being fast enough for normal business related tasks, anyone wanting to use this laptop for video editing or other processor intensive jobs might find it to be a bit slow. This can easily be remedied by replacing the HD for a faster spindle drive or a SSD. However it would’ve been nice to have a tad faster hard drive here.
The keyboard, for me, took a bit getting used to since I have previously used standard laptop keyboards without the number pad. This is a personal preference so nothing against the design. Just noting that those of you used to that type of laptop keyboard, there will be a bit of learning curve involved however I think the addition of the number pad is great thing and should be standard on all laptops.
While the brushed aluminum case is aesthetically appealing, I’m a little concerned about it getting scratched/dinged from normal use or if when you’re changing it to be used as a tablet. This is the case with some laptops that use this metal casing so just something to be aware of.
Overall, this is an impressive laptop, reasonably priced with enough up-to-date technology that will last you for several years to come. Being that it’s a 2-in-1, it’s an added bonus which allows you to use this device in ways you should be able to do and with relative ease. There is some bloatware included (this should be no surprise) so make sure to uninstall/delete the stuff you don’t need. Aside from a somewhat slow hard drive, the other features on this laptop more than make up for it. Very nice buy for a new work laptop or student.

Bloatware?

It took a bit of time to setup my laptop as well. Have you tried uninstalling the bloatware on this laptop? I did and I don't have any issues with boot speed or anything else on my laptop.

Can an owner of the original non active 65t comment on the fit and stability difference with the active version? Curious if that and the extra IP rating is worth a look, or negligible.

I own both the active and regular 65T's and I don't see any noticeable difference between them. Aside from the IP rating, there's really not much difference. Both fit exactly the same and fit pretty snugly in the ear.

Brighten your day and night with this Philips Being Hue ceiling light. The dimming function lets you set an ambience for different moods, and it works with the Philips Hue dimmer switch and mobile app for versatile control. The ZigBee technology of this 32W Philips Being Hue ceiling lamp provides smooth, efficient interoperability with multiple Hue lighting units.

Can this light be controlled by a existing wired wall switch? I plan to replace the light that is already there with this one, but I would prefer to use the wired switch.

Yes you can...that's what I did. One thing to note is that the light won't come on immediately like your current light fixture does. There's a second or two delay after you flip the switch. I'm planning on replacing the switch with a dimmer switch so maybe that will correct the delay.
