Great Choice For Affordable "Beater" Buds...
on August 11, 2022
Posted by: Posted1
Let's start with Earbuds are LOUD!
Usually when you think "loud" earbuds, you are thinking "loud" as in volume. While these fit that description, what I mean is they are "loud" to look at. These ugly ducklings really stand out in a crowd. No one will wonder if that dude is wearing buds, but they may actually serve as a safety reflection for jogging in the dark.. Just kidding about that of course, but yeah, they stand out.
.
OK, now for the guts... These are true wireless earbuds. They fit firmly in the ears with the available rubber plugs. Important note, the extra plugs are a little bit hidden in the bottom of the cardboard packaging. Once you find your fit, they are adequately comfortable for most workout/jog/walk type exercise's. You won't to be flying from NYC to Tokyo with these but they are great for a solid jog or rip through the weights.
These are "water resistant" [NOT waterproof!] which means they are good for most exercise regimens. You can sweat quite a bit and these will keep going.
As for battery, I honestly have not had a chance to confirm numbers, but they easily lasted 3 hours of jogging and elliptical on just the buds charge. The case can also be charged and
it will charge the buds giving multiple uses without needing to be plugged in.
The sound was good, not great, but for the price they are better than others at same price point. As mentioned in the title, these are a great choice. If for some reason you do lose one [or both], not the end of the world. As compared to other ear buds I've reviewed that are at a three, four, five hundred dollar threshold, I am much more comfortable abusing these than the more expensive ones. That said, these feel like they could take a certain amount of "abuse". They have a solid feel like they could take a bit of a beating and keep on going.
End of the day, I really like these buds. They do what they are supposed to do and won't cost a fortune. Good choice for those on a budget or those who may be concerned about beating their expensive buds to death.
Nice affordable option, JLab!

Great PoE NVR Security Choice
on August 3, 2022
Posted by: Posted1
Great affordable choice!
I usually try to include pictures in my review, but sadly, my phone is on the way to Chicago becuse my wife took my computer bag and I forgot to get the phone... Living without a phone for a few days, this should be fun!
OK, now for the review. The packaging was sparse but effective. Everything was well protected but easy to access. In one box we had 4 camera's, 4 ethernet cables and mounting hardware.
Second box had DVR, power cable and other peripheral items like paperwork etcetera.
Setup was relatively easy. Took total of 20 minutes or so. I tested each of the camera's separately prior to final installation. Nothing would be more frustrating than to go to lengths of installing and then finding a failure and having to troubleshoot it back to fail point. Fortunately, all was well.
One thing I really like about this system is the PoE [Power over Ethernet] for the camera and NVR [Network Video Recorder].
First, the PoE provides power to the cameras over the Ethernet cable. This removes the need for separate power cables, adapters and octopus power splits. This makes installation so much easier and allows far more options for location and mounting.
As for the NVR, this means the camera's are IP [internet protocol] instead of analog. The video is processed at the camera and then converted to digital where is sent to the 2TB NVR recorder. This is a very efficient means of transferring information and is great for the true 4k resolution this system provides.
Now for the 2TB NVR, that is a huge amount of storage. It should be ample for most 4 camera users for 2 to 3 weeks of recording. This of course has many variables as someone on a busy street that has each camera set for auto-movement detection will have many more recording instances than someone on a much less busy street, but for most 2TB is more than ample.
Important note: if you are not comfortable pulling wires through your house, please consider hiring a professional. You will be happy you did if you are not experienced.
As for camera quality, I have found them to be excellent in both day and night mode. There are many variables you can program as to what will trigger automatic recording and actions of lights. The cameras are equipped with LED lights but they are NOT going to light up like a spotlight. They are more just to let the person they are recording know they are being recorded.
End of the day, this an excellent PoE NVR system for the price. Offering 4 cameras with audio and the option for 8 cameras, this should be ample for most residential or small business needs.
I would [and have] recommend to friend.

Great Case, Good Value
on July 12, 2022
Posted by: Posted1
Gorgeous case!
Got this for my 17 year old daughter and she LOVES it!
First impressions, she said it was very pretty. It fits her iPad perfectly and allows easy access. Very versatile. It has several options for how you can use it on a daily basis and various environments [desk, lap, table, fold down tray, bed etcetera]. The overall feel of the case has a high quality vibe and it seems to protect the iPad very well. That's certainly a good thing given the price and mobility of the iPad 10.2"! While a real quality test will take weeks, if not months [or hopefully years] initial feedback is positive.
As for value, this seems to fit in as a good value compared to some other options. Are there less expensive cases? Well yes, but a couple that I handled while shopping didn't have the same quality feel. And of course, yes, there are more expensive options but for basic every day use, I find this to be a great option.
I would have liked to have posted more pictures, by daughter absconded with it before I could!
End of the day, I would recommend this to a friend.

Great Atmos Choice!
on July 11, 2022
Posted by: Posted1
Great Choice.
These are the third RIG product I have used and have yet to be disappointed. Packaging was great, arrived undamaged. Opened up and everything was out and ready to be charged on just a few minutes. Ran a few errands (maybe 3 hours or so) and they were fully charged and ready to go.
Comfort was fantastic. I used them for a solid hour and had no fatigue. The sound was excellent on all games we tried. Having the Atmos feature is very cool, especially in headsets. You can "track" sound in a 360 degree fashion as Atmos moves the sound field. While that is really cool on my 7.2.1 system on my home theater, with headphones the sound is more "precise" since there is a much smaller physical area.
As for battery life, I really can't comment... My teenage sone was quick to abscond with these to his basement and he has been using them for last couple days but he says they easily last all multi-hour sessions that he's engaged in.
End of the day, another solid RIG product and I would not hesitate to use their product line in the future. I would [and have] recommend to a friend without any hesitation.

Excellent Choice!
on July 4, 2022

Excellent choice for almost any and all users.
Very solid protection. Very light-weight in regards to system overhead compared to so many other competitors products.
I have Norton on 2 PC's, 2 lap-tops, 2 Android devices. I also have Norton's sister company Bullgaurd on 2 other PC's, 1 laptop and 1 other Android device. So far, both Norton and Bullgaurd are very even in protection, simplicity and light use of background overhead resources of the OS, BUS or memory.
Very intuitive, easy to install, simple to manage. I love the fact that this can operate on so many eco-systems and across so many devices. When my son returns from the United States Navy, I will load this on his devices. This license allows you protection on up to 20 devices. Very impressive, especially for those families with multiple users.
End of the day, this is an excellent choice for the price, especially if you have multiple ecosystems and multiple device types.
I would (and I can say I already have) recommend to a friend!

Affordable, Quality True Wireless With Great Sound
on June 28, 2022
Posted by: Posted1
Great classic Sennheiser sound. Good fit. Overall great quality at a reasonably affordable price.
I really appreciated how many sizing options and retention clip options there were. They were able to fit my big-old ears as well as my 17 year old daughters. Admittedly, we did need to use different ear cups and different ear retention clips.
When the say "touch control", they mean "TOUCH control". All in all, the touch options were effective and relatively simple to learn.
We used these for several days in the gym and they worked great. That said, I would not recommend these [or any ear-buds for that matter] for a long flight. They are comfy for 60 to 90 minutes or so but wouldn't want to wear them much beyond that.
As mentioned, the sound is excellent. I appreciate that they are sweat resistant as my big-old-big-bod sweats a pretty good clip when doing cardio.
For affordable, high quality true wireless earbuds, these are a great choice.
I would [and have] recommend them to a friend.

Outstanding WiFi 6 Mesh System For Larger Homes
on June 27, 2022
Posted by: Posted1
Truly Amazing WiFi6 Mesh System.
We have a relatively larger house with just shy of 5700 square feet. There is about 2700 sq ft on main level, the second floor is about 1500 sq ft, and the basement is also about 1500 sq ft. We also have an attached 650 square foot attached garage and a 1400 square foot pool that is enclosed with an aluminum frame and wire screen. Not the friendliest RF environment. To exacerbate the RF difficulty, the exterior of the house is full brick [not facade] and the bricks are 15" X 3.5" X 3.5".
We currently have an 802.11ac [WiFi 5] three-node mesh system. While the coverage is decent for the most part, the WiFi Nest doorbell and the Google Nest Spotlight cam at the garage is spotty at best. Lucky to get 7 to 12 Mbps there. Not enough for reliable video. Additionally, the coverage in the pool was adequate at best. We could get 15 to 25 Mbps in there. Enough to stream video, but roght on the edge.
Now lets rollout this AX4300 WiFi 6 system. In the box you have the three [3] Deco X4300 units, three power supplies, flat ethernet cable and basic documentation. Packaging is exactly what you would expect. Everything was well secured but still easy to get to. Each unit has one [1] 2.5 Gbps port and two [2] 1 Gbps ports. Very nice.
As for set-up, it was very simple. Download the app, choose your TP-Link device and move to next step. One minor frustration is that while this mesh system is marketed as the AX4300, but the individual nodes [and as listed in the set-up app] are shown as X4300. Like I said, minor annoyance but just an FYI. I chose the X4300 on the first unit and after plugging it in, set-up took maybe 3 to 4 minutes after entering my WiFi info and firmware upgrade. Setting up the other 2 was equally easy but they seemed to take maybe 4 to 5 minutes with firmware updates.
Once I had all three units powered, I left the first on in my office where the 1 Gbps fiber port enters my home. My office is on the main level, for north end of house. I set the second unit up in my wife's office. It is essentially in dead-middle of home and near the staircases going both up and down. I place the third unit on the second floor, far south. This would provide great coverage upstairs and I hoped would provide the sorely needed coverage out to the garage Nest Camera products. Boy did it ever!
After everything was up, I ran speed tests and I was blown away. I knew that WiFi 6 was designed for high efficiency and making better use of the FCC approved RF spectrums, but I was amazed at how well it did. I used a Samsung S22 Ultra to test and the results were incredible. As you can see from the pictures, in my office [where the 1 GBPS fiber enters home] I was getting steady wireless speeds of 840 Mbps. In my wife's office [second farthest from main node] I was getting steady 770 Mbps and in the upper level, farthest from main node I was still getting an outstanding 660 Mbps. Where the garage camera's were and previously getting 7 to12 Mbps, I was now getting a stunning 85 Mbps. Just a huge difference. And finally in the pool room where we were previously getting 15 to 25 Mbps we were now getting an amazing 150 Mbps. Outstanding.
As for the app, it's clean and light but not necessarily robust, especially for those techies amongst us. It gives you basic information that most home users should be OK with.
All in all, and EXCELLENT WiFi 6 Mesh system, especially for larger homes. I would recommend to a friend. Great choice!

Amazing WiFi 6 Mesh System For Large Areas
on June 27, 2022
Posted by: Posted1
Absolutely amazing WiFi!
OK, my house relatively large. Just a shade under 5700 total sq ft with another 650 sq ft in the garage. The main floor is right at 2700 sq ft (not including the garage) and 1500 sq ft on the upper level and another 1500 sq ft in the basement. Then we have another 1400 sq ft in the pool area that is enclosed in aluminum frame and screen mesh. Not horribly RF friendly.
Prior to this, I had a 3-node mesh WiFi system that was 802.11ac (WiFi 5) and while the coverage was adequate throughout the house (and even into the pool), the speeds were certainly good enough to stream everywhere but nothing to brag about. The one place the coverage lacked was our wireless doorbell cam and wireless Google Spotlight cam outside the garage. It makes sense given the size and that the house is all brick (not façade, 3"x3"x8" brick) exterior.
Roll in this TP Link AX4300. The speed was incredible. I'll get to that later.
Starting with the unboxing, everything is packaged well. You'll find the 3 deco units, basic documentation, 3 power supplies and a slim Ethernet cable. All 3 units are exactly the same. All three have one [1] 2.5 Gbps ports and each unit also has two [2]1 Gbps ports. Very nice
The set-up, it was pretty simple... DL the app and choose the correct item. One minor annoyance (and it is minor) is that the AX4300 is NOT in the list of supported items. The X4300 is, but not the AX. Turns out the X4300 is the individual unit(s) while the AX4300 is the mesh system. Just choose the X4300, and it will walk you through the steps for the first unit. Total set-up takes 2 to 4 minutes per unit. First one came up no problem. The other two took a little longer as they needed firmware upgrades.
As for the app, it's OK. Very simple to use but not really much deep-dive for the techies amongst us. But for a home or SMB environment, it's perfectly capable and adequate.
OK, all 3 are up and running. I placed the first one on the far north end of house on main floor (where my fiber comes in). I placed the second unit in the wife's office, almost directly in middle of the house on the main floor and I placed the third unit in the far south end of house on second floor. The coverage saturation and speeds were truly outstanding. As you can see in the pictures, the wireless speed in the same room as the first unit came in at an outstanding 840 Mbps. The second unit (in the wife's office) came in at 770 Mbps and the third one (upstairs and farthest from primary) came in at 660 Mbps. These speeds were measured on a Samsung S 22 Ultra. I was impressed. The real test came in on the garage doorbell camera and Google Nest Spotlight cam... With my old mesh system, the connection was super spotty. I would be lucky to get 5 to 7 Mbps... With this system, I am getting 70 to 80 Mbps. And finally, in the pool where we were getting between 20 to 35 Mbps, with this system we are now hitting well over 250 Mbps consistantly.
Bearing in mind that I get a 1 Gig fiber stream into the modem, getting these speeds wirelessly over this many square feet is truly astounding. The WiFi 6 6 was designed for high efficiency, so it's making much better use of the spectrum and it truly does.
End of the day, this is a fantastic system. If you have a large area, I whole-heartedly recommend this system

Great Choice!

Very cool product in all.
Packaging was typical Phillips. Nothing fancy but certainly efficient and effective. Inside the box you'll find the main body, 2 floss heads, USB charge cable and USB wall outlet. Pretty simple.
Set-up was... Well, simple as well. Plug it in, pop the floss head on and you're done.
So I set it up, ran to the store for a few items and by the time I came back, it was fully charged. Maybe 20 minutes. I filled the cavity up with water and gave it a try. Worked very well. I have not flossed in... Well, so long I don't remember when. Flossing always creeped me out, not sure why. That said, this device is able to get between teeth without that strange (well, strange to me) floss feeling. Was done in probably about a minute and felt great.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, is that it stops for about a second between cycles (4 cycles per session). I wish the "between" cycle was more like 5 or so seconds to allow for time to spit out the water in your mouth. End of the day, probably more of an opportunity for me to learn proper floss technique, but that is my only complaint.
In closing, I highly recommend this device, especially for those of us who are "creeped out" by traditional flossing. I can see this as easily being a part of my daily routine. And I'm pretty sure my dentist will be proud of my new found floss routine. Solid choice!

Flawlessly connected, Fiercely protected. Austere is moving beyond the primary function of providing power, to a place where performance, safety, and design come together to define what you should expect in power. Using our PureFiltration technology, Austere Power cleans noise and artifacts, that can travel through power lines and keeps them from impacting your devices. In addition, the Omniport USB provides rapid charge and protection for low-voltage devices. Austere also employs flameless MOV circuits and thermal protected outlets, keeping you safe from a home electrical fire. And if anything were to happen, our Component Guarantee promises to protect your equipment from damage, regardless of its value, whenever your devices are plugged into an Austere Power product. And because how it looks is as important as what it does, Austere’s proprietary aDesign philosophy elevates function through purposeful engineering and sleek design. Our surge protector power strips have a brushed aluminum housing, which creates an elegant way to power your home electronic devices. Always. Not all power is created equal. You may not know it, but your surge protectors can wear out over time. Joules–the protective layer of energy that defends your components–are finite. And when they are gone, it leaves your system completely unprotected from shock or surge. Traditional surge protectors only last a year or two so if you can’t remember when you last refreshed your home’s power, it’s likely time to do it now. And to take out the guesswork of when your Austere Power needs to be replaced, the blue protection shield icon on the Power unit will cease to illuminate once the Joules have been used. But that won’t happen for a long time because Austere Power is rated to last more than five times as long as most power products and guarantees to safeguard your system with our Component Guarantee.

Brilliant. Gorgeous.
on June 20, 2022
Posted by: Posted1
Absolutely brilliant! Absolutely gorgeous!
My first take away is how heavy this was. A solid 5 pounds. It was obvious that this is a truly high quality device. The packaging is premium as one would would expect from a "luxury" item. The cardboard is thick and premium feeling, the plastic has a velvet feel and everything is tight. The brushed aluminum is as substantial feeling as it is eye-pleasing. Further, the braided cord has a high quality, heavy, re-assuring look and feel. No detail was overlooked. The plug into the wall is a 4 o'clock angle so it can be plugged into the outlet even while the other outlet is in use. The blue backlighting is rich and brilliant. The design is honestly as brilliant in effectiveness as it is gorgeous.
The unit comes with 8 standard plugs, 5 USB ports [3 of which are USB C and 2 are USB A at 2.4 volts]. Overall voltage is 120 volts with Joule rating @ 3000, maximum continuous operating of 125 volts with a max voltage out @ 125 volts. The maximum output watts @1800 watts. This is a beefy unit.
Additionally, it comes with a "Lifetime Warranty" [I'm sure there are many variables in that statement] and includes a 5 year replacement if any equipment is damaged in the first 5 years. That in mind, I went back and forth as to whether to place this in my office with all of laptops or in my family room with my 87" LG TV, my 9.2 Yamaha receiver and my Sony BluRay and Def Tech powered subwoofers. I can honestly say I REALLY hope I never need to test the warranty, but it's a nice option to know I have.
In all, this is a truly brilliant, gorgeous, powerful, functional luxury item. If you have a need, this is very hard not to buy.
I would [and have] recommend this to a friend. Great choice!

how do I get my mouse to move properly on my intel computer screen

I'm not sure I understand the question. You should be able to plug the USB into your PC, turn your mouse to the "on" position and have it operate no problems.
