Fun Throwback To Childhood!

Great throwback Polaroid!
When this offer came up, I was quick to grab it. I thought it would be fun to have a throw-back experience to my childhood when this was state-of-the-art technology... When I got it, I opened it and left it on the table in our entry. As soon as my teen daughter, she grabbed and headed upstairs. My eighteeen-year-old daughter is a vibrant artist in almost all media from pencil, to watercolor, to oil, to music and of course to photography. We desided to test it togeher. Needles to say, her pictyres made this review, my artless pics were pale in comparison to hers.
First off, set up was as expected, easy. Open it up, charge it, load film, aim, snap pic and wait a bit for it to develop. It was indeed a memory tugger!
After going through a couple "rolls" of film, it was nice to see the classic richness and depth that Polaroid instant film presents.
I can for sure see taking a couple "rolls" of film this coming Thanksgiving and Christmas. My plan is to take the pics and then digitally stare them for perpetuity.
The one slight drawback (and the only thing keeping ot from a 5 star rating) is that the film is not inexpensive. That is known by most people prior to purchasing this, but I found it important enough to note.
End of the day, fun little camera to bring you back to the 70's and 80's!

Great high-tech old school throw-back tech!

Great high-tech old school throw-back tech!
We got our 18 year-old daughter a record player when she was 12. She loves listening to that Taylor lady who was dating the KC football team's tight end on records. There is that classic warmth that natural vinyl delivers and she loved the "throw-back" vibe that records offer.
Fast-forward 6 years and she is now away from home (albeit just 15 miles) and living in a college dorm. She still comes home for the weekends. Her quandry was she wanted to have a record player in the dorm, but didn't want to haul it back and forth.
Along came this Victrola Onyx Hi-Res Turntable to save the day! She ended up moving the older one to the dorm and leaving this one here. She LOVES this player. The sound-quality is excellent! The sound is rich, warm and smooth. Lows are low but not muddled. Mid's a clean and clear and highs are crisp and clean without being harsh.
This is also a handsome unit and can convey class and quality just as well in a teenagers bedroom as it would in a high-end audiophiles module HiFi environment.
End of the day, I would reccomend it to a friend!

Excellent Choice For A solid, Quality Doorbell!

Great first-dive into the smart-doorbell market!
Ecobee has long been a leader in the smart thermostat arena with a long legacy of quality products. Taking that reputation into the smart-doorbell they hit a huge home-run.
Inside the box you'll find the doorbell, backplate with security screw, wedgemount, chime adapter and hardware envelope.
Once unboxed, I was immediately impressed witht he overall build quality and feel of the doorbell. I have used and tested several smart doorbells and this one is right there witht he upper-end of those units. It is also on the heavier and larger end of the doorbells I have used and tested. This is a good thing as it echoes confidince in the device.
Installation was not hard, but was a little involved. It all starts with the app so that is step one. Once you have the app, it walks you through the installation process. The mounting the doorbell is simple. A few screws, connect the wires and that is done. As for the chime adaapter, it was a little more involved. I am perfectly comfortable doing this type of project so just gave it a little time, attention to detail and followed the Ecobee process and it was done. If you are not that person, you may want to call in a family member or friend who IS that kind of person.
Once it was installed, the camera quality is some of the best I have seen in any doorbell. Impressive.
As for the tech specs and what this device does, I'm not going to get into that because it's all pretty self explanatory and expected.
End of the day, this is a great choice!

Grreat Offering From Sony!

Great headphones!
Inside the box, you will find the headphones, USB-C charging cable, 2.5 mm audio cable. Quick note on the 2.5 mm cable, one end is a straight input and the other is a 90 degree. Thoughtful touch and noce they provided more options where a straight connection might not be optimul (airplane audio connections come to mind. You will also find the ubiquoutous user manual and some self-agrindizing Sony and "InZone" stickers if you want to give Sony some free advertising, they provided that for you!
These are particularly good looking set of headphones. In a world so full of black on black or primarily black woth perhaps a small accent color. These white phones offset with a black boom and black interior padded cloth shows very well.
As for on-board controls, there is a power button, volume control and a game/chat mode. The included USB adapter has a PC and PS5 selection switch. Pretty traigh forward.
You can download the Sony INZONE app and that will let you set custom EQ settings, microphone test and and volume/device settings. Fairly lightweight, but a noce feature.
One place where these really stand uot is the weight and comfort. My son is a US Navy NUclear Engineer and he and his mom and I often play games with us here in Colorado and him in KingsBay GA. My wife absconded with these and left me the older gaming headset and she loves them for the comfort.
The sound quality is excellent, especially for gaming. And the microphone also feed great sound.
The only drawback I see (and only reason for a 4 star rating instead of 5) is that it is USB connectivity only. It would be great if it offered Bluetooth connectivity. USB is just one more thing to loose, takes up a port on the hardware and limits options for devices to be connected.
In all, a very nice choice providing typical great Sony sound and top-shelf comfort in a premium offering.

Great Choice! Solid Unit!

The TP-Link - Tapo Smart Wi-Fi Outdoor Plug is a nifty little device. It is exactly what it sounds like. An indoor/outdoor plug that is smart...
Set-up was simple. From unboxing, downloading and creating an account in the app, to operational was maybe 10 minutes. It came straight up and I had it on my network no problem.
Physically, it's pretty simple. One plug goes into the wall and two seperate plugs you can plug devices into. You can control each plug (plugs one and two) seperately. The app is simple, lite and clean. In the app, you can power each plug on/off, monitor run-time for today, past 7 days and past 30 days.
Additionally, you can create a custom schedule or sunrise / sunset with option to adjust to hours or minutes before and / or after. You can also create different schedules on different days or every day.
If you prefer, you can also set timers in hour and minute increments for turning device on and off.
Another cool feature is the "Away" setting. This setting allows the device to randomly turned on and off mimicking people are home.
You can also easily share access to others to us the device. Very cool.
On a final operational note, I was easily able to integrate it into my Goolgle Home environment so it's operational from where I go to run the rest of Smart Home. Nice bonus.
The only place this item is lacking is in the chord leangth. It's just a few inches long. Had it been 2, 3 or 4 feet, this is an easy 5 star, but that short chord leaves real-world use a little lacking.
End of the day, this is a great choice from a well known and trusted company. If you have the need, great choice!!

Excellent Choice If You Have The Need AND Means

OK, so I am not going get into the tech-spec stuff because, well, all of that is abundantly available in other reviews and from BB/Netgear web-site. Instead, I am going to focus on set up and functionality.
To start, we have a realatively large house at just over 5900 square feet and then an additional 1400 square feet of enclosed pool. The main level is 2862 sq ft with 1500 sq ft in second level and 1500 sq ft in the basement. We have always had a mesh system and had decent coverage. Comparing this mesh to the WiFi 6 system it replaced, not only is it faster, but has a better coverage footprint also. I was getting speeds over 950 Mbps over the entire property (just over 1/3 acre) and clear across street onto the lake. Much farther reach than old system.
As for placement I am a CWNA so I originally used network analytics to map out original mesh system. With this, I re-used the same locations. We have the main router in the far left, dead center of main floor. The first satellite is also on main floor, almost dead center of house. The second satellite is on second floor, far right of the house. This satellite covers the pool, driveway and garage very well.
Installation was simple, albeit understandably a little time consuming. Load the Orbi app and it walks you through every step. Start with the router. Install (after firmware update) took maybe 10 minutes. Next step was simply to place and plug the satellites. It took maybe 4 minutes for each to boot and start Internet traffic. And then another 25 or so minutes as the system optimized for tuning and channel allocation.
The app is attractive and useful. It offers Device Manager, Security, Internet Speed Test, Parental Controls, WiFi Analytics, Network Map, WiFi Settings, Guest WiFi, Traffic Meter and Support. All of those are self explanatory and offer decent information.
The one downside and only reason I gave a 4 star instead of a 5 star rating is the size of the power outlet connector. It is quite large. And in this 55 year old house, some of the outlets where you plug the device into, do not have the same retention strength as new receptacles. It's not necessarily the size that is the problem, but the design. When plugged into a wall, this heavy and large plug in rests hoizontally. Being horizontal, when plugged in, the weight pulled the outlet out of the socket. Had the design been a vertical orientation, the lower half of the plug would have offered support so it would not come disconnected. The solution was pretty simple, I just swapped this outlet to the top and pulled the othe cable from the tom to the bottom and that allowed forme to place a small "shim" that let the lower plugged in support the weight of this large outlet. Again, not a deal-breaker but an odd design decision that probably few others will experience.
I was talking to a friend of mine about this system and he asked why I needed a WiFi 7 mesh system when there are relatively few WiFi 7 devices out there. I answered that if I were to buy a 765 horsepower super car, would I NEED that 765 horsepower? Well, no, but it is awfully nice to have! Same here. If you have the need this is a great choice but on the pricey side.
End of the day, if you need a larger area covered, this is a great option.

We have a bar in the basement and I have been slowly equipping it with proper "bar appliances". One of the appliances that was missing was a decent blender. When I had the opportunity to get this Ninja Detect Power Blender Pro with BlendSense Technology, I jumped on it.
Inital thoughts are it is classical Ninja consumer quality. I have had several NInja devices from kitchen appliances to vacuums and I have yet to be disapointed. The Ninja Detect Power Blender Pro continues that trend. It is a handsome device with a quality look and feel. Operation is as expected, intuitive and simple. I mean it's a blender.
For our first use, we had a few friends over to watch the Avalanche season opener. For the first round of drinks, we did the classic margarita. The Ninja Detect Power Blender Pro hadled it no problem and offered a very nice, even blend from first pour to last. We then did a series of daiquiri's and topped it off with a pina collada. Will all rounds, the outcome was the same. Even, smooth drinks delivered with plenty of power.
End of the day, I am glad I took the opportunity. This is a great addition to back of the basement bar!

Nice Small Office Printer

Having a small real estate office, printing is still an importanlt part of doing business, even in an ever-increasing digital world. The Brother - MFC-L3780CDW Wireless Color All-in-One Digital Printer Is a great choice if you have the need.
First impressions... The unit is larger than expected..mThis is not a statement of either good or bad, just an observation. The box it came in was also large but thankfully it had "handles" that made moving it easier.
Set-up was as to be expected. From opening the box to set up and operational was probably 15 to 20 minutes. Once set-up was complete and the paper loaded, I ran severaltest prints. I printed a past contract for the purchasse of one of my properties. It printed quickly and the print was sharp and crisp.
I next printed some invites to my dad's 80th birthday that had a color picture of hom and mom. Again, the printing was relatively quick and the color images were crisp and relatively close to natural color.
End of the day, for a small business, this is a great choice and a real value. I would reccoment to a friend.

In typical Insignia fashion, this Insignia™ - 7' USB-C to Lightning Charge-and-Sync Cable provides a value-priced, quality item. That is the case with this charge and synch cable. Both ends have good fit and the braided cable has a quality look and feel as well. And at 7 feet in legth, it offers decent utilty for most uses.
In my household, my daughter and I aresteadfast Android users while my wife is completely anchored (chained perhaps?) in the Apple ecosystem. We used the cable for a few days and had no problems. We also took it camping with us and was a nice fit for the RV. We were able to use it effectively on her phone, her iPod and her iPad tablet.
In the box, it's pretty strait forward. The cable comes nicely packaged with a clear windo so you can see both the USB-C and the Lightning end clearly. That's packaged along with the ubiquitous FCC product guide. Pretty simple.

The Arlo - Home Security System with Wired Keypad Sensor Hub and (2) 8-in-1 Sensors is a great choice if you have the need.
My son is a US Navy Nuclear Engineer (EMN) and my wife and I have made investments throughout his career by purchasing small condos (1 and 2 bedroom) as he has moved fromr Goose Creed SC and then St. Marys GA. Being military towns, we know there will always be the need for qualified rentals.
That said, when I saw this opportunity, I was looking forward to it. It was a great opportunity to provide him a multi-use alarm/monitoring system is also portable. And that is exactly what ir does. It will follow him from SC to GA and allow us to have our properties protected while he is both home and away.

I'm not sure I understand the question. You should be able to plug the USB into your PC, turn your mouse to the "on" position and have it operate no problems.
