In my personal opinion, this is the heaviest hitter ever released by W.A.S.P., Blackie Lawless has all the riffs and vocals coming at you like there is really no tomorrow. As each track ends, you have no time to blink for the next track hits you like a ton of metal bricks. If this is to be someone's only metal purchase for the year, this should be it, "Dying For The World" is that good.
Not to sound sappy here but Overkill makes these songs their own, really. "Changes" is an incredible detour from what you expect from Overkill, yet if Overkill wants to do a ballad I will listen with metal glee. "Space Truckin" is downright incredible, "Never Say Die" and "Deuce" will have you banging your head in appreciation of the pummeling bass and drums. "Ain't Nothin' to Do" and "I'm Against It" shows off Overkill's Punk side, and it is convincing. Overkill give's these classic tunes new thrashing life!
What's great about it: Listening to Overkill cover songs for an entire cd.
Misfits and Ramones fans need to add this to their collection. Osaka Popstar fans rejoice! This is a fun, fast and entertaining live performance. I wish this could have been a double live cd, yet I am not complaining. The Ramones covers make you wish you were there during the concert. Recommended purchase to play loud with punk pride!
What's great about it: Legendary lineup, Ramones cover tunes, all captured as a live performance.
What's not so great: I wish there were 2 or 3 more songs!
Misfits Fiend Club members know what they are getting here, a fast and aggressive live performance from the single most underrated band in music history. A must addition to all Misfits collections and a great start for Misfits beginners. Having Henry Rollins join in on vocals for "We are 138" is genius. This CD must be played very, very loud!
What's great about it: Danzig on vocals, raw live recording no overproduction!
This release is recommended obviously for Overkill fans, yet this release should be in every thrash/metal collection. You can easily pinpoint a few melodic moments on this disc, yet for Overkill to flirt with melody is like a scorpion flirting with a black widow....the end result is straight to your gut relentless, classic, Overkill thrash that cannot be denied, duplicated or compromised.
What's great about it: Straight on thrash that never lets up! Punishing bass!
