Gentle cleaning massage.

THE BREAKDOWN:
My daughter’s have been using facial scrubs for the last few years. Most of the time when we try new products they are to abrasive, or they just make it worse.
The size of the device is just about perfect for my daughters, not too big and not too small. It is easy to use by just having one button that turns it off and on. It is completely waterproof so need to worry about the kids ruining it by getting it wet.
There is no way to replace or charge the batteries in the device. So once the around 600 uses are done the device will no longer vibrate.
As, far as cleaning goes it did a good job on cleaning my daughters faces. They liked the gentle massage that it gives. It does an ok job at cleaning their faces. There was no drastic improvement on cleanliness reported in over a week of use.

Great budget Monitor

THE BREAKDOWN:
The Element 27” IPS gaming monitor comes packages nicely and included both display port and HDMI cables. I found this excellent since usually you only get an HDMI cable. The monitor was well protected by Styrofoam. I was worried as my box had a big gouge on the face of the box and the monitor screen was undamaged. The assembly was pretty straight forward but instructions were lacking. The overall feel of the monitor and frame is kind of cheap feeling as the plastic is not that elegant. I do like the thin bezel of the monitor though.
For me one of the biggest let downs of this monitor is that you cannot adjust the height. This monitor is fixed height with only tilt adjustment. I had to place books under the stand base to line it up with my other 27” monitor.
One of the nice things about this monitor is that it has several connectivity options. It has two HDMI inputs (one is 2.0 and the other is 1.4) and one DisplayPort 1.2 port. There is a USB port that provides power only to other devises and it also has a headphone jack. To change the input, you use the button under the E on the bottom right of the monitor.
To navigate through the menus is little tricky, it actually reminds me of one of my first tv’s with this option where you have to just use the buttons to see what they do. Just a note, this monitor does have an HDR option. This option to me didn’t really improve the image only made the screen very bright. You can adjust the settings to 16:9 or 4:3.
There is also a nice feature of an on screen crosshair that you can use for shooter games.

The panel performance is just okay for me. Normally, you get the IPS panel for great colors and deeper/darker blacks but this is lacking. There is a blue hue to the colors sometimes the colors seemed washed out. It isn’t bad but it isn’t the best either. I also noticed there is a lot of backlight bleed.
The gaming performance despite the panel performance initially was very good. I found that there was fluid gameplay even in fast moving situations. Overall, great response time. The refresh rate was really great paired with AMD FreeSync.
The speakers that are on the monitor are really lacking and basically bad in every way. The sound is terrible and to boot they are facing away from the user.

Small but Mighty!!

THE BREAKDOWN:
The Bose S1 Pro Multi-Position system is simply a party in a small package.
The S1 Pro system can not only be used as a speaker it can also be used as personal monitor or a PA speaker if you have any speakers stands on hand. The speaker is designed so that you can use it almost any situation, you can place it on the ground you can tilt it back, you can put it on its side, or you can elevate it or put it on speaker stands. Very, very, versatile. This device measures 13”H X 9.5” W X 11.2”Depth and 15lbs. One little thing to note is that whatever position you have this speaker in you can turn the Bose symbol on the front to match!
I host a lot of gatherings and this speaker has really amped up my game. You can not only stream music wirelessly, but you can connect a mic and instrument like a guitar or piano. The sound is really incredible which I will get to later. The S1 Pro has built-in sensors to make sure you have optimal sound. The built-in ToneMatch is a feature that will adjust your instrument sound but having used it I feel you need to fine tune it. It does get you in the ballpark but I feel that you always need to make those fine adjustments to make it perfect. To you use this feature just select the guitar or mic symbol on the back of the device. One note, if you see a flashing red led on the channel that means you are clipping so turn it back down a little.
The Bluetooth feature is easy to use and intuitive. You press and hold the Bluetooth button on the back then open your Bluetooth on your phone and select the speaker. Once your phone or device is paired with the speaker the Bluetooth light will remain solid. One thing to note on using Bluetooth with your phone and streaming music is you may want to put your phone in airplane mode to keep the notifications from coming through while you in the middle of entertaining.
The sound indoors in a medium sized room is just amazing. It sounds so balanced, and it can get really loud. At my last gathering I actually stood behind the speaker and it felt like I was at a concert. Outside use is amazing as well. You can hear it throughout my gatherings, and it sounds so rich and full no matter where you are.
One note is that if you have the chance to get the battery do it! If you do gatherings outdoors especially where there is no power like camping the battery sure would be nice. The power cord is only 6 feet in length.

Great for calls and audiobooks

THE BREAKDOWN:
These Amazon Echo Frame Sunglasses 2nd Gen are very lightweight and fashionable. The sound was better than expected for calls, music, and podcasts.
The glasses are very comfortable, and I felt like they didn’t make any part of my face, nose, or ears uncomfortable even after a few hours of wear. The actual look of the sunglasses is not appealing to me and they definitely don’t trend with current fashion in my opinion. If they would be more suited for reading glasses rather than sunglasses.

The box itself was very well made and it felt super high end. In the box were the glasses themselves that were equipped with polarized lenses, a hard case for those glasses, the charging cable with block and a quick start guide. I believe if you have a prescription you can replace these lenses with those.
The speakers performed well for being outside the ear and not bone conducting. This is a feature I found very nice especially while running, I could hear everything around me. The quality of the sound isn’t breaking any records but it certainly nice and it is newer tech.

Good sound small package

THE BREAKDOWN:
The Echo Buds(GEN 2) are easy to get setup and sound great. The initial setup was done by downloading the Amazon Alexa app via the Apple store or Google play store. Once you get the app, just follow the instructions and within a couple of minutes you are connected and ready to use them. They do include some really nice instructions that are easy to read and follow.
The Echo buds come with 3 different tips, (small, medium and large) and also some wing tips which is like a little silicone sleeve for the main body of the earbud. I have tried all of the tips and for me the best is one tip being medium and one tip being small.
These earbuds include Alexa which I find a nice feature. Just by speaking to your assistance you can do a ton of things. One thing that I find helpful is the shopping list, I can just tell my assistant to add….milk and bread to the shopping list and poof like magic it is done. Very helpful in my option.

The audio quality was very good with these earbuds. They are not the top of the line in sound but they definitely sound good on call, music and video. The ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) works very well as long as you have the right size tips selected.
The battery life was good around 15 hours with case and 5 hours per charge on each of the earbuds. If you charge for 15 minutes you get 2 hours of battery life.

Good sound for the price

Belkin Soundform Freedom True Wireless Earbuds sound great and fit great. I usually have to experiment with different earbud tips until I found the combination that work the best. For this set they were perfect out of the box and I even tested the other sets that came with it to be sure!
Getting started and setting up are a snap as there is no app to download they just need a full charge then you are good to go. The instructions included was very straight forward on how to push the buttons on the earbuds.
The charging case plastic and the bottom half is matte black while the top half is kind of glossy. The charging case along with the earbuds claims to give 28 hours of battery life. It also comes with a USB-C charging cable and supports wireless charging.

The earbuds were very comfortable after listening to music for more than 4 hours. They feature 5.2 Bluetooth connection. I had zero connection problems with my phone, laptop or tablet.
The sound for making calls was just ok, most people I spoke with said that I sounded like I was in a barrel. The sound for listening to music and video was pretty good. Not the best but then again these are not priced like a high end wireless earbud either.
Having an app to keep things updated and do a little control of the features would have been very nice.

This calming heat – flexi wrap is a great addition to anyone’s toolbox that suffers from sore muscles or joints. The really great thing about this wrap is that you can wrap it around your arm, leg, neck or shoulder. This wrap has both heat and message capabilities. There are three setting for heat and three setting for message. Each setting is indicated by the light color: low is green, medium is blue and high is red. It is straightforward and simple to use. It is very soft and feels very comfortable. One downfall is that the cover cannot be removed for cleaning.

MUST HAVE DEVICE!!!!

THE BREAKDOWN:
This HyperVolt 2 Pro hits all the marks! If you have ever been in a market for a device like this then wait no more! This device is high quality, solid built beautiful piece of equipment.
In the box is the massage gun itself, charging cord with 4 interchangeable plus for international use, 5 interchangeable message tips/heads (which has a nice carrying case for them) and an information packet that includes some instructional/informational cards. The packaging was even well done and gives you a sense of owning something top shelf. The box itself actually opens if you stand it on its ends which for closet storage makes perfect sense.
After a quick first trial use of the device, I plugged it in to give it a full charge. It took about 45 min to charge fully from the factory and the 5 minutes of initial experimentation. According to the manufacturer the device will last approximately 3 hours on a charge. I have used this device for about 2 hours and 45 min, and it still shows no signs of running out of battery life.

The controls are very simple and easy to use. They look and work like a high-end product. One the bottom is the power plug and the on/off switch. The on/off switch actually has a red and green color to it which I found nice. One the bottom of the handle there is a LED light band that goes all the way around the handle and lights up depending on the charge level. On the back there is a round wheel that you can turn clockwise or counter-clock-wise. The speed level goes from 1 to 5 and they also have a LED to indicate which level you are on.
There are 5 different head options to choose from. They are super easy to swap out. To swap it out you just give a gentle pull on the head and it comes right out. Then you choose the one you want to use and give a quick push back in. Overall, very easy to remove and replace.
There is also a Bluetooth function with this device. You have to download the app then connect the device. It was very simple and easy. The app which gives a ton of video guides.

Lights, camera, action......

THE BREAKDOWN:
The Razer Wolverine V2 Chroma is a great controller and is packed with gamer features.
I am 6 ft and have fairly large hands and this controller feels amazing and familiar. This controller is not too heavy or not too light, it feels perfectly balanced. I like that controller has rubber on the sides to help with my, grip unlike my go to wireless controller for my series X. This controller has 6 extra buttons that you won’t find on my original wireless controller. There are 4 buttons on the backside and 2 bumper buttons. There are also trigger locks to make the trigger pull shorter, thus allowing you to pull it faster.
There are replacement joysticks that come with the controller if you would like to swap out. These are magnetic and pretty easy to remove and replace.
The lights are customizable and really cool. You can customize through the app. I like the lights and think that they are a cool thing, but I really don’t pay attention to them while playing. This controller also uses an USB-C connection which is a nice upgrade.

Coffee house at home

THE BREAKDOWN:
I have been wanting to try a more manual espresso machine for a few years now. I have an automatic espresso/americano machine that has really done a great job over the last few years. It does make a good Americano but it just doesn’t quite have that coffee house taste.
This machine is very pleasing to the eye and I have gotten many compliments. The most common one is “did you steal that from the coffee place” or “man, that is fancy”. To their credit it really does look like you took it right out the local coffee shop. The build quality his very good, even though the body is made of plastic it seems well built and sturdy. I think that makes it easier to move around on the countertop for most people. The top of the machine actually has a warming area for your cup and a nice round place to place your tamper. The water tank is plastic and light but holds approximately 100oz of water. That is a really good-sized tank. One drawback for me is, the tank doesn’t have a built in water filter.
There is bean storage/reservoir (holds around 3 cups of whole beans) included with a bean grinder. The grinder is a cone shaped burr style grinder. The grind size can be set by just rotating the reservoir to number you like to go with your coffee style. I tried to set the grinder to 7 but it kept clogging the machine and was a hassle. I currently have it set at 8 and have had no further clogging issues. One more thing to note is that when you grind your beans there is a little light that comes on to light up the basket/portafilter. This thing drops coffee grounds all through the day or anytime the machine is bumped as you can see in my photos. A little annoying but I think that is just part of it.
Using the steamer/hot water feature was very simple and straight forward. I had no issues whatsoever using it for filling my Americano with hot water or adding/steaming some milk for a latte.
The WiFi connection using the SmartHQ app does work. It allows you to change the grind time and water volumes for both single and double shots. It also lets you set the amount of hot water that is dispensed. There was no way to set hardness levels or see hot water temps in the app like it states in the manual.
Cleaning and maintenance were pretty easy and straight forward. I like to dump my tray and rinse it every day, but for those that don’t it does have a red float indicator to let you know when the tray is full.
Once I got my machine dialed in, I really created great Americano’s just like the fancy coffee shop in town. It really is easy with this machine.

is that machine automatic?
Yes, this machine is automatic. Once you load the whole beans or you can a scoop of ground coffee and fill the water reservoir you just select the button for which coffee you would like it to make. It automatically dumps the grounds inside. I have made several cups before I had to empty the grounds collector. Hope that helps.
