Works like it should

THE BREAKDOWN:
If you’re like me, you have had your fair share of coffee makers. This coffee pot is your typical coffee maker with a few extra features.
This thing was easy to unpack and get started. It has a minute and hour button for setting the clock, it also has a button to set a brew delay of up to 24 hours. It has a select button, brew strength button and fresh brew timer. For the brew strength button, you have the choice of strong and regular. This coffee maker also has a grab-a-cup auto pause for those that need a cup of coffee before the brewing is finished. It has a 2 hour auto shut-off which will automatically turn off the coffee maker, so you don’t have to worry about it or burn the leftover coffee in the bottom of the pot. This coffee maker also has a cleaning cycle button that is supposed to let you know when its time to clean your coffee maker.
This coffee maker looks a little more upscale with the stainless and black features. It does include a filter for the basket that really doesn’t filter out much but large pieces of whatever can get through the coffee reservoir. The coffee maker itself worked as it should for the many pots I have brewed. The strong button does a brew a slightly stronger cup of coffee. I wouldn’t say that it is like a shot of espresso, but it definitely does taste slightly stronger to me.
PRO’s:
- Nice stainless/black look
- Strong Brew Selector
- Delay Brew
- 2 Hour auto shut-off
- grab a cup auto pause
CON’s:
- Light and plastic looking
- Filter doesn’t really do much
SUMMARY:
Overall, I feel that this product worked like it was supposed to at this price point, and I would recommend this to a friend if they are in the market for device like this.

Don't pass this one up!

THE BREAKDOWN:
If you haven’t had a chance to use and air fryer or even a countertop oven don’t miss out on this one. I own a basket style air fryer and an oven all in one air fryer similar to this one and this one hits all the marks.
This thing was easy to unpack and get started. It had 9 pre-set cooking functions to choose from. It has a dehydrate, proof, bagel, toast, air fry, bake, broil, reheat and keep warm. It is large enough to use a 9 X 13 pan which is also included along with an no flip air fry basket. One great thing to mention that comes with this product is the drip pan. This thing is a life saver, easy to put in and easy to take out and clean.
I have a family of 4 and I was able to create meals to feed the whole family quickly and easy. I especially love making crispy fries in 22 minutes! For those quick nights you can throw in chicken nuggets and fries at the same time and air fry them in under 30 min. For weekend big breakfast prep I can toast 9 pieces of toast at time.
One of the major advantages of using this countertop oven is that you don’t have to heat up your kitchen by using your electric or gas oven. The top and sides to do get very warm when using for extended periods of time. The last awesome thing I want to mention about this product is that it is very quiet, you can barely hear this running. I had another air fryer that is very loud, so this countertop oven is a blessing on the ears! One thing that I particularly don’t like about this oven is that it is big and bulky to set on my countertop. It is very pleasing to eye, but it is large and it doesn’t flip up like the other countertop oven that I own.
Overall, I found this countertop oven to be very nice, works well and is pleasing to eye.
PRO’s:
-Beautiful stainless/black look
-9 Pre-Set Cooking functions
-Very quiet while running
-Can accommodate 9 X 13 pan
-Doesn’t heat up your whole kitchen
CON’s:
- Large and bulky
- Wish this product could flip up to save space
SUMMARY:
Overall, I feel that this product worked very well, and I would recommend this to a friend if they are in the market for device like this. You won’t be disappointed if you pick this one up.

Upgrade now!!

THE BREAKDOWN:
The packaging was very well done and protected. It came with the main display, the base, the power cord, HDMI cable, Display Port Cable and USB cable.
The Dell S2721DGF monitor really delivered. The 27 inch IPS panel with QHD resolution (2560 X 1440 pixels) will surely impress anyone looking to upgrade their old gaming monitor. One key thing to keep in mind if you want the 165Hz refresh rate you will need to use the Display port cable, if you use the HDMI cable your refresh rate will only be 144Hz. Dell played the neutral role when it comes to picking a graphics card to support as this monitor supports both AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G-Sync graphics technologies. This
I found the IPS fast, bright and very colorful. This display also supports up to 3 user profiles, timer, FPS counter and you can manage frame rates and shadow control to name a few. The monitor itself has 2 HDMI inputs, 1 Display Port input, 4 USB 3.0 ports, a 3.5mm headphone out jack and3.5 mm audio line out jack. This monitor weighs about 9.9 lbs. The power button is located on the bottom right bezel and the menu buttons with the joystick style is located on the back right of the monitor behind the power button. I have to say that I really like the joystick button to navigate through the menus. One last thing to mention on the monitor is that it is VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified which allows you to see more detail than a SDR display giving those clearer visuals. Some people prefer monitors with DisplayHDR certs of 500 or greater.
Overall, I found this monitor to be everything it claimed to be: fast 1ms response time, contrast ratio of 1,000:1, worked well with G-Sync and the colors were great. Also, the menus where very easy to navigate. Very visually appealing with the thin bezel and blue light in the back.
PRO’s:
-Thin Bezel
-IPS/LED panel/backlight
-VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified
-1ms response time
-2560 X1440 @ 165Hz (when using the Display Port)
-G-Sync and FreeSync Compatible
CON’s:
- none

Smart Cooker that works!
on July 31, 2020
Posted by: Ohanaman
from Kentucky
THE BREAKDOWN:
The packaging was very well done and protected. It came with the main pot itself, rice paddle, scoop, steaming basket, cooking rack, plastic measuring cup and 2 rubber mitts.
The Smart Cooker is a 6-quart model that weighs approximately 10 pounds. I have seen several other brand cookers like this one and that seems to be the average size. I will certainly easily feed a family of 4. The black exterior isn’t necessarily the most attractive, but it is not that bad either. I typically store these type of appliances in the cabinet anyways so not something that worries me.
On the front of the unit you will find a 2.83-inch LED screen that in used by a knob at the bottom. There is no other actual physical buttons on the machine. There are just areas on the screen that will light up that you can interact with.
One of the cool features is the built-ion digital scale. I have compared this to a stand-alone digital scale that I own and it is very consistent with reading between them.
The CHEF iQ Smart Cooker has pressure cook, slow cook, sear/sauté and steam as buttons on the display. There are some additional modes that are available through a “more” button such as ferment, sanitize and keep warm. There is also a favorites button that will show recipes you have save in the Chef iQ app.
There is also the pressure release options which are quick release, natural release and pulse option that is controlled by a venting valve on the back part of the lid.
Setting up the Smart Cooker was just a little tedious as you had to download the Chef iQ app for iOS and/or Android. You will then need to create an account then use the app the connect the Smart Cooker to your home Wi-Fi network. For me the Smart Cooker would only find my 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi which really isn’t an issue just thought I would mention it. Once connected it may need to do an update before you can use it.
So, to start my testing I decided to make some rice. Tested the scale and let the Smart Cooker calculate. The plan displayed on the screen which for me was 8 min of high pressure cook with a quick release. What a breeze to cook and the rice came out amazing. I personally own a separate rice cooker and I can say that this Smart Cooker will replace that old rice cooker. I have cooked several meals to include a cabbage soup that is pictured and they all were very easy and fast.
Ok, so the app itself was just ok. I think there was just a little over 100 recipes available on the app. There is also a tips and tricks section that had a knife skills 101 and Onions 101 videos. There is a favorite sections where you can save your favorite recipes. It also has a calculator section where you can choose a cooking method such as pressure cook , slow cook, sauté or steam. After you choose one of those it opens up another menu of things to choose from until you get to what your looking for and it give you the recommended cook settings. There is also a more section that lists your appliances, cooking history, about this app, what’s new and few other standard options. Lastly, it has a picture of the cooker in the middle that connects to your Smart Cooker.
PRO’s:
-Has built in scales
-6-Quart capacity
-Dishwasher safe
-Pressure cook to sauté ability
-Large easy to read display
-1000W of power
CON’s:
- Standard black appliance appearance
- The app needs a little more work
SUMMARY:
Overall, I feel that this product worked very well and I would recommend this to a friend if they are in the market for device like this. Not sure if I already owned a Smart Cooker if I would replace it with this one.

MUST HAVE PERIOD

THE BREAKDOWN:
The packaging was very well done and protected. It came with the keyboard, USB-C to USB-C charging cable, the USB dongle/receiver and some instructions.
The design of the keyboard is sleek in true fashion of Apple with the space grey finish and minimalist design. I love the fact that this keyboard is sleek and minimalist but heavy. It gives you that solid feel like it was made to last a lifetime.
Connection was fast and easy via Bluetooth or the USB dongle/receiver. You can also switch between 3 apple devices and continue typing with the click of button on the keyboard (“The Easy Switch”). I was skeptical about this feature, but it did indeed work as intended.
The keys themselves felt amazing, they have little spherical dish shapes on them that seem to capture your fingers to the center of the key. I found this to be very comfortable and precise. You can also customize the Fn keys once you download the logictech software.
Keyboard illumination was very cool. I personally love backlit keyboards. These are no ordinary lights on a keyboard, they actually sense your hands as they move toward the keyboard and light up. It is pretty neat stuff. They also automatically adjust brightness based on the changing light conditions. If you are not a person that enjoys the backlit keyboard you can simply turn the feature off by using the option button and the F5 key until there is no lights. An additional note is that once the battery gets to 10% you get a notification and they turn off.
The USB-C charging cable works as intended and it is to be noted that it doesn’t include a charging head. For some that is a turn-off but for me it isn’t because my MacBook Pro only has USB-C ports, so it is easy enough to plug and charge.
PRO’s:
-MAC layout
-Spherical dish shaped keys
-Sleek and elegent
-Backlit Smart Illumination
-Multiple MAC’s at the click of button
-Customizable Fn buttons
CON’s:
- Absolutely none from me

Nice 3 in 1 Charging station
on July 9, 2020
Posted by: Ohanaman
from Kentucky
THE BREAKDOWN:
The packaging was very well done and protected. It came with the stand and power cable that is 2 prong regular 120V house plug.
The design of the dock is sleek and light. It can charge your iPhone, Apple watch and AirPods all at once. I have a thick Otterbox Case on my IPhone XS Max and it still charged it with no issues. You do have to make sure you set it nice and flat on the dock otherwise it will not charge.
My only real complaint is with the Apple watch charging dock. I have a protective case around my watch ( it is a series 5, 44mm) and it won’t mount to charge on the dock. If I take the case off it charges just fine, but at the annoyance of taking off your case and putting it on everyday. I feel that it should be able to move/pull up a few clicks to accommodate watch cases or just mount on top. The only issue with mounting on top is you lose your nightstand mode, but with your phone do you really need the nightstand mode on the watch??
The Air Pod charger works as intended and I had no complaints with that. One thing I failed to mention is that it does have LED lights that shows the charging status.
PRO’s:
-Charge 3 devices at once
-Night Mode for Apple Watch
-LED light showing charging status
-Charges phone with thick case
CON’s:
- Will not charge Apple Watch with case on

Easy set-up and great product
on June 23, 2020
Posted by: Ohanaman
from Kentucky
Initial thoughts:
Eufy states that this camera can run on a single charge for up to one year. That couple with the camera features and the fact there is no monthly fee for services sounds like a winner from the start.
What’s in the box??
-The base station
-2 cameras
-Mounting hardware(for both inside(magnetic) and outside(screw in type)
-Network Cable
-Power cable for base station
-Charging cable for cameras
-Quick start guide
SETUP:
Setup wasn’t too difficult, but I did have some issues. First you have to connect the base station to power and a router via the supplied ethernet cable. You then are supposed to scan a QR code on the bottom of the base station to get it up and going. This did not work for me, you can also type in the code manually which did not work for me. After I restarted the base station I went back in the app and searched for devices and it found it right away and connected. When connecting the cameras, I suggest you do one at a time. To start open the app and following the instruction on adding cameras. You essentially hold the button on the camera for few seconds then it connects. I suggest you then walk to the place you would like to mount it and look at the signal strength meter on the app to make sure it good before you install it. Eufy also recommends that you mount the camera 7-10 feet high out of direct sunlight and away from reflective services if you want optimum performance. Like I stated previously if you mount the cameras inside then use the magnet mounting hardware and if you install outside, use the screw in mounting hardware. One thing to note on the screw in mounting hardware is that it is limiting on the angle so double check the position and angle before you mount it outside.
Features:
There are a lot of features of this camera and honestly one of the most appealing for me is the no contract/monthly fee. I like that there are no wires to mess with and the fact the battery life is supposed to last 365 days. It also has 16GB of internal eMMC storage. This system also has human detection software that focuses on humans in the image. I confirm that it does connect with apple home kit but if you do beware some of the features will not work and the image quality is not as good as using the Eufy app. I like the 2 way talk on these cameras as it pairs nicely with my doorbell. It also has a 100db intruder siren. These cameras are IP-67 rated as well. The last feature that I would like to mention is the ability of the HomeBase 2 to serve as a Wi-Fi extender.
Performance:
I mounted one camera on my front porch to watch the driveway and front entrance and the other camera on the back deck to watch over the inground pool and surrounding area. I felt that both cameras offered good coverage angles of my property. I felt that watching the live video was very sharp and accurate as well as previously captured video. The night mode I felt gave the same results, the clarity/sharpness and distance was very nice in night mode as well. You can also zoom in on either mode (live/recorded).
The motion detection worked very well and the alerts came within seconds. The front camera detects cars driving down my street and its 60ft from the house. You can adjust the motion detection by increasing or decreasing with the slider or creating activity zones in the app. The zones was a neat feature as the cameras will only send alerts if there is activity in the zones you set. Keep in mind that it does still record all view area but it will only send alerts if there is activity within the zone you set up.
The App: The app is super easy to install and use. When you open the app it takes you to a screen where it lists the cameras and the last recorded image. At first, I didn’t understand how to get to the live feed but if you just click play on the video you see for the camera it open up the live feed. Once in the live feed you have options to record, take a snapshot, activate 2 way-talk and muting/unmute the cameras speaker. There is also a 3 line icon that opens to another menu where there is the library of saved clips, turn off/on nightvision, activate siren and access the camera settings. There is an events tab where you can set security modes. There is a Home mode (set as default) where the camera will detect motion, record video and send alerts. In away mode it basically does the same thing but add in an alarm to fend off intruders. There is even a schedule mode where you can set home and away schedules and the it uses your GPS to activate modes based on your location.
PRO’s:
-IP67 rated
-365 day battery life
-Wire free
-No Monthly fee
-100db Intruder Siren
-16GB local storage
-Very sharp images in day and night
-HomeBase 2 serves as Wi-Fi extender
-Pairs with Apple Home kit, Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa
CON’s:
- The provided instructions were not very clear
-The outside mounting brackets limit the angle you can move the camera, the magnetic mounts offer a wider and superior angle
Final Thoughts:
Overall, I feel that this product worked very well and I would recommend this to a friend if they are in the market for device like this. This would be great for people who do not want to mess with a wired system.

Another great product from Sony!!
on June 15, 2020
Posted by: Ohanaman
from Kentucky
Initial thoughts:
Very solid Bluetooth speaker that is waterproof, rustproof and dustproof with an approximate 24 hour battery life. It also allows for party chain and it had programmable lights.
What’s in the box??
-The speaker
-A USB- C charging cable (it has an actual plug end/that goes into the wall)
-Quick start up guide
SETUP:
Setting this up was a breeze. If you are used to connecting Bluetooth devices, then this will be a snap. Also, you can connect with built in NFC. You are up and running in just a few seconds. It also is charged about ¾ of way already so you can start using it immediately. There is an app called Music Center and fiestable if you want to play around with the light settings(this is not necessary if you just want to play music).
Features:
For me it was the IP67 rating specifically the waterproof rating of 1 meter (3 ft 3 in) for up to 30 min. I have a inground pool and we have been using this every day. I do like the longer battery life and we have been averaging around 23 hours on a full charge. Keep in mind we like the music loud and my kids like the lights at night! The Music Center/fiestable app lets you create your own lighting features or just pick from some that are already made. It also has the party chain feature but unfortunately, I could not test this feature as my other Sony speaker was not supported. One thing to note that the speaker is quite heavy, heavier than I expected.
Performance:
The performance of the speaker was great. It gets loud but not so loud that it distorts the music or sound, I do own another Sony speaker that does get a lot louder. We have about 65 feet from one end of the concrete to the other at our pool and you could hear the music very good from all angles. I do feel that the bass is a little lacking. It did actually float and continue to play in my pool. I like that it has a USB-C charging port. It also has a USB port on the back you can use to charge other devices which can be real handy at the pool or lake.
PRO’s:
-IP67 rated
-24 Hour battery life
-Customizable speaker lights
-Party Connect
-USB-C power cable
CON’s:
- A little over 6lbs makes this heavy
-Lack of bass
Final Thoughts:
Overall, I feel that this product worked very well and I would recommend this to a friend if they are in the market for device like this. This would be great for people who spend their time at the lake or pool.

Worth the money!!

Initial thoughts:
If you’re in the market for a wired all in one security system that is fairly easy to install and has no monthly fees then this may be the system for you. Also, this is NOT a wireless system, there are wires connected to each camera.
What’s in the box??
-8 Channel DVR with 2TB Hard Drive
-4K Heat and Motion-Sensing enforcer Cams (6 of them)
-BNC Extension Cables that are 60ft long EACH (6 of them)
-Ethernet cable
-HDMI cable
-Power cables (There are 3 total you will need to plug in) and splitters (2)
-Mouse(wired)
-Mounting Screws and Plugs
-Quick Start Guide
-Theft deterrent Stickers along with a number if you want to have it professionally installed.
SETUP:
Ok, not going to lie the hardest part was actually choosing where to place the cameras. For me that was toughest part, as I live in a 3 story home. For those of you that are handy and live in a single story, getting in attic and dropping lines may be easier. Once you get your camera lines ran and hook them all up to the main unit, then attach your HDMI cable to from the main unit to your monitor (and if you have access to the internet close by hook up your ethernet cable) plug in the power cord and Viola! From there it will take you through a setup process. Oh and one more thing is don’t forget to hook up the mouse so you can navigate through the on screen menus. One side note is that I tried to plug in a USB keyboard to use instead of clicking but it would not work! Using the mouse wasn’t that difficult truth be told. The setup wizard takes about 12-15 minutes to complete. Then you have access to control how and what you want your cameras to. Once you finish your setup you can access all the camera features. There is no real guide and you have to just play around with all the menus and buttons. Just a note if you manually turn on the sirens, they do get pretty loud.
The App:
So, let’s talk about the app, everyone wants to monitor their home from their phone these days. To get started I have an IOS device and I just scanned the QR code that was on my monitor screen and it takes you right to the app store to install it. If you have installed an app before then you know it comes with the usual questions such as notifications. Once you have the app downloaded and signed in you can do what we all do with our home automation apps. Now if you are expecting 4K UHD and real time from these images you will be let down. The images were pixelated but you could see well enough. You can also access your stored images and video (playback) there is also a user manual in there. If you are smart phone savvy you will have no issue moving around in the app. One last note on the app, I found that there was a 12-15 second delay from real-time.
Picture Quality:
Picture quality on my 4K monitor was nothing short of amazing. I thought that it did very well in bright light and in low light situations. I have another camera that struggles with really bright outside lights but these cameras did an excellent job at keeping the colors correct. Clear and concise(especially on a 4K monitor) nothing more to say.
PRO’s:
-No monthly charges/free recording up to 2TB
-Wired, so you set and forget
-Weatherproof Cameras
-4K UHD
-Night vision(up to 130ft) with color(up to 32ft)
-Smartphone Control
-Flashing lights and sirens to deter intruers
CON’s:
- Self install can be difficult if you are not handy
-Lack of instructions on how to use the camera interface on the monitor
-App could use some work and polish
Final Thoughts:
Overall, I feel that this product worked very well and I would recommend this to a friend if they are in the market for device like this.

Great running tech

THE BREAKDOWN:
If you love tech like I do this product will really round out your arsenal. I am a part-time runner and have ran a marathon and several mini/half marathons. I have gadgets galore! When this product became available I was looking forward to testing this one out.
What is Nurvv insole trackers? Well, Nurvv’s smart insoles are suppose to help you run more efficiently and make it easier to monitor your running health. Some of these metrics that are tracked are: Cadence (steps per min), Step Length (distance between each foot strike), Footstrike (forefoot, mid or heal), pronation and balance. Some of the other stats you get are pace, distance and route map. Nurvv keeps track of your runs and uses the data to give you Running Health (more on that later).
The insoles have a left and right each with 16 precision pressure sensors. These sensors capture information at the rate of 1,000 times per second with pressure mapping where foot touches the ground. The tracking units themselves (this is where the GPS and Bluetooth are) clip onto the out lip of your shoe. It attaches with a metal hook and some Velcro. The weight of the trackers add around 22g each and the insoles which total around 70g per shoe. The trackers themselves are IPX7 rated. From my testing the insoles themselves survived through 40+ miles over 2 weeks and a few of those runs where in the rain and I felt as if the rain had no effect on the insoles or trackers. The insoles I felt were a little difficult to fit into my shoes. I also want to note that over time the clip that hold the trackers on the side of the shoe kept getting harder and harder to fit. The reason was because the metal clip expanded and it doesn’t go back either, I ended up using the extra rubber pieces that came in the package. The trackers were also a little difficult to place on holder and get off. Both trackers have power buttons on the inside and I personally thought that it was difficult to turn on when the tracker was mounted on the shoe clip.
The initial setup was fairly easy, you just follow the instructions on your phone and is pretty straight forward. Once the app is up and running it takes 30 seconds or so to prepare before you can run. So, if your inpatient like me this will be irritating.
If you have lots of running gear like I do you get used to certain features such as heart rate. Well, with this there is no heart rate connectivity with that said there is no heart rate zone training.
While running you get you can see your foot strike and cadence and after you finish a mile you get your splits. Running health/ training load score monitors your load over time. It then gives the recommended mileage for the next seven days so as to minimize your injury risk.
One last note is the battery life is as promised, right at 5 hours.
PRO’s:
-Indoor Tracking mode
-Phone-free tracking
-Shares data with garmin and apple devices
-Save poling rate, key binds and up to 5 CPI’s directly on the mouse
-Customizable lighting
-IP67 rated construction
-Bluetooth connectivity
CON’s:
-Soles were difficult to fit properly
-No heart rate
-Short battery life
-Hight cost
SUMMARY:
Overall, I love new tech and I would recommend this to a friend if they are in the market for device like this.

is that machine automatic?

Yes, this machine is automatic. Once you load the whole beans or you can a scoop of ground coffee and fill the water reservoir you just select the button for which coffee you would like it to make. It automatically dumps the grounds inside. I have made several cups before I had to empty the grounds collector. Hope that helps.
