Great home machine to brew your favorite coffee

I've had Delonghi machines in the past and I love their design. They're easy to use and brew a great cup of coffee. This machine continues that great tradition. I use it primarily for the cappuccino making abilities. For anyone who has always wanted to make this drink at home but didn't want to shell out hundreds of dollars for a complicated machine, this machine is a great alternative. It makes a really good espresso with a lot of foam thanks to the pressurized system. That in itself is worth the money if you enjoy espresso, and it's really the basis for a good machine since any cappuccino or latte is based on first making a great espresso. The buttons are laid out nicely and intuitively and also give you prompts by lighting an LED in the button, for the next step in making your brew. The milk steamer works great too and is just like they use in a coffee bar. You independently steam the milk and then use it for making either a cappuccino or a latte (since these two methods are different but both include steamed milk). Cleanup is very simple and is best done right away so that you can pretty much just thoroughly rinse all the parts and set them to dry. There's actually not a lot to wash as most of the machine is very self contained. The included drip coffee maker works really good too and makes a really good cup of coffee. The drip side is not fast but the flavor is worth the wait. We don't use this side as much but it's nice for when we have guests. There are a lot of cool little features that this machine includes, like the built in cup warmer, the fact that the espresso side and the drip side are completely independent of each other and can be used at the same time, and the intuitive nature of the machine in general. If you enjoy different types of coffee but don't always want to go out and spend the money for one, this machine has you covered and you can make pretty much any type of coffee at home that you like. A great machine from a really great company.

Fantastic compact machine

I wasn't entirely sure I would really be sold on a machine like this, but using it has convinced me that I can do anything I need or want to do on it. This guy screams. Very fast, with a very responsive touch screen. It's size is perfect especially if you like to take your laptop with you. It folds up to the size of a tablet, keyboard and all.
The Keyboard/case is really cool and very well engineered. The tablet connects to the base connector easily and securely and is held in place via a strong magnet. The case can be made to support the tablet in two different positions, both of which are a good angle depending on how you're using it. The keyboard has a good feel and is much better than I expected a keyboard of this compact size to be. And yes, it is back lit. Something that should be standard on all laptops. When closed, the case has a very tough and rugged feel. Much more substantial than any tablet case, and stays closed very well with the use of another magnet.
Windows 10 works flawlessly on this machine, so any application you normally use on a Windows machine will work well. Functions well for a portable, fully functional machine. Great for meetings or travel. The 12” screen is a nice size and is large enough for comfortable viewing. The Super AMOLED feature is something that I love on Samsung devices. It's easy to see why they are at the top in the screen market.
By using Samsung Flow, you can use the fingerprint sensor in your Galaxy smartphone to log in to your Galaxy Book securely. After that you can reply to text messages on your laptop, and use your phone as a Mobile Hotspot, it will also sync your notifications. Still exploring this feature but it seems to work well with my S8.
If you're looking for a smaller, compact yet powerful machine, this is one to consider. It comes with everything you need right out of the box. S pen, back lit keyboard/case, and even a 128GB Micro SD card to expand the available storage space, power adapter, and USB C cable. No looking for the right add on accessories to buy just to use it, they're all in the box. A very well thought out machine that is fast and responsive and a pleasure to use.

I've had this installed for a few days and I really like it. If you're capable of installing your own replacement light switch, then this is an easy installation. Be aware, you will need a ground connection, neutral connection, the hot feed and load connections. It's also a bit on the large side but uses a standard Decora switch plate cutout. This guy worked great from the moment I switched the breaker back on. Easy to set up, just wire it in, download the app and follow the easy on screen directions. Compensates for different types of bulbs when calibrating the high and low brightness level (incandescent, LED, etc.). The app is really nice, it allows you to set up a sleep timer with a fade out that turn the light out after a certain amount of time. You can set up rules for when you want the light to turn on and off (whether you're home or not). The app will control all of your WEMO enabled devices. Best of all, it's a dimmer. Great for home theater rooms. You can control the light either by the app or manually by pressing the button. Running your finger up the center row of LED's on the switch raises the brightness, and running you finger down will lower the brightness. Really nice looking switch with a soft glowing power button. The switch also has indicators if the WiFi is lost or other trouble modes, all color coded. Really nice design, and it works really well for home theater. The down side is that it's fairly pricey. But then again, you probably wouldn't want or need a dimmer in most of your rooms anyway. Nice product.

Very basic rechargeable razor

I would consider this a budget razor, and having said that it will have several shortcomings that some people might be looking for in an electric razor.
Overall, it's quite light in the hand. The fit is comfortable and the razor performs as a new razor would be expected to, that is, quite well. The shave is very smooth although I found myself going over a few areas several times to achieve that smoothness. To be fair, that could just be that I wasn't used to shaving with it yet. It will work both wet or dry or with shave cream or gel (which I didn't try). All in all, I found the experience adequate.
The down sides of this particular razor start as soon as you need to charge it. First off the charging base that come with it is extremely limited. The razor has to be snapped into the base and the base has to be plugged into a wall outlet, so if the razor is dead, you're out of luck for a shave until it charges. Which brings up my next point, it takes forever to charge this guy. I'm talking hours and hours. Combine that with the fact that there is no indication of battery charge on the razor and the base just has a small red led (I guess it's lit if the razor is charging). Also, the charging base can only plug into an outlet in one direction, which meant for me that the razor was plugged in sideways, not vertically. It does work since the razor snaps into the base, but it looks dumb hanging there sideways.
As I said it is a wet dry razor which is nice when you want to clean it out, but I expected a nice little brush to aid with this. There is no brush included so you have hope that the water can flush out everything on its own. It does however come with a cloth sack which would be nice for traveling.
It does also have a trimmer that you slide up to use, but I found it very small and a bit ineffective and I quickly lost patience with it. For the price of this razor, it does what it needs to do, but there are absolutely no bells or whistles included with it. It's just a decent shaver and no more. I would expect that most people would want a little more especially if you're looking to upgrade your current electric razor. This would however make a fine travel razor as long as you can leave it plugged in somewhere for the day. A single charge only lasts about twenty minutes.

Horrible sound from the start

I gave this product a fair chance to impress me and as I expected Sony to do, they failed miserably. I was actually very hopeful that these headphones would be as good as they were advertised to be, but I can't give them a good review after listening to them and dealing with their customer support.
To start with, they are very nice looking. The build quality seems good. Buttons are tight and responsive. They are laid out nicely so that even with the phones on your head, it's easy to feel your way around them. Sound quality on the other hand leaves a lot to be desired. I tried these phones with three different Bluetooth streaming devices, all with the same results. From the moment I turned them on, they just didn't sound right. The left ear piece sounded OK by itself, the right one sounded like it had a blown woofer. Nothing I tried made the sound any better. I tried flattening out the EQ settings and listened to a wide variety of music styles, but they all had the same problem. Distorted low end. Turning on the “Extra Bass” only made the issue much worse.
After pouring over the instruction sheet, I found that there was a way to factory reset the headphones. Not really sure why there would be a need to do this, but OK. I factory reset them several times. Nothing helped. I paired and unpaired them with multiple sources, all with no improvement.
In an effort to let Sony redeem themselves and remove the now bad taste in my mouth that I had from them, I emailed customer support. I found that the only thing worse than these headphones, was actually Sony's customer support. I emailed them because I wasn't about to waste a lot of time on hold waiting for help. It was OK with me if they took a couple of days to get back to me. Well, they got back to me right away. In my email to them I explained the issue I was hearing, the model number of the headphones, and what I had done to try to fix the problem (the factory reset). Their email asked me only one thing, what is the model number of the headphones. I responded just as quickly and gave them the model number (a second time). They responded again to me with a link to the instruction page for the headphones and told me to factory reset them. They then added, if the problem persists, contact customer support. I replied again and explained that I had already done that several times. On their third email back to me I received a link to a page that supposedly contained a form to fill out, in order to have a technician look at them. And after searching the page briefly and not finding the form, I called it a day, and I washed my hands of their horrible product. The only reason I gave them two stars instead of one is because I feel that I truly got a lemon pair, but their customer support made me feel as if none of my emails were read, and I was just a dumb customer that couldn't figure them out.

I expected a little more for the price

I couldn't wait to try this vacuum out when I got it, and for the most part it didn't disappoint. To start off with, the suction is really great. And after all, isn't that what a vacuum cleaner should be all about? On the plus side, the suction is at the top of the list. It's also highly maneuverable and even though it has a wide beater bar, it's pretty easy to drive it around. The head section that houses the beater bar has a floating bottom piece that maintains a great seal to the floor no matter where you use it. The 31 foot cord is nice to see on a vacuum for a change. The dust canister is easy to remove and clean, as you would expect. When using the beater bar on carpeting (you can turn it off for cleaning hard floors), it actually helps to pull the vacuum forward, so even though you can really tell it's got a good seal to the floor, it's not that hard to push it around. You can tell it's really doing a good job at sucking all the dirt out of the carpet. I don't have pets, but I'm sure it would do great with hair from dogs, cats, lemurs skunks, shrews or just about any other hairy thing you call your pet. The edge pick up is really good too and you don't have to use your foot to try to pull the crumbs away from the wall in order to run them over with the machine, it will get them just fine.
This vacuum has a lot of great features to it, but unfortunately, there are some not so great features. On the minus side, the first thing I noticed was the noise this thing puts out. I was actually really surprised because all the Dyson products I have seen or used have been pretty quiet. Every piece on the outside of the machine is plastic, no nice aluminum extension tubes or click type button latches. In stead all the parts go together and have just a plastic tab that holds them in place. It seems secure enough, but for the price, I had expected more. Where this vacuum fails for me in in the external hose/wand/attachments. You park the vacuum with the handle up, pull up on a plastic handle that's at the end of an extension tube. The tube is stored down inside an external flex hose. When you pull it up about three feet, it can snap into the end of the hose or be completely removed. The tools that come with, can be stored on board which is also nice, but when you pull the hose to extend it so that you can use the pole to reach under or up high, instead of expanding easily and allowing you move freely, the suction that's inside the hose makes it want to shrink up to it's collapsed state. Pulling on it harder just starts dragging the rest of the machine around with you and I was always afraid I would pull the whole machine over. There's also no light on this machine, something else I thought would have been included in the high price tag.
If you are looking for a straight upright vacuum with a whole lot of power to clean your carpet well and keep dust and debris off your hard floors, then I would by all means recommend this machine. But if you want to buy in to all the advertised versatility that this machine will give you, I would seriously consider a different one. It just didn't end up being nearly as versatile as it led me to believe.

Quality design and fantastic performance

This is our first Shark vacuum and we took a chance on it because I've seen them for several years and wanted to know how they compared. This vacuum has a highly maneuverable build and a lot of features that are very popular these days, and I have to say that I've been very impressed with it's performance since the first time I used it.
To begin with, the primary thing for most people purchasing new vacuums is going to be the suction. After all, that's what we all expect from a good vacuum. This machine has suction to spare. When I first put it together, I was anxious to try it out, but had just vacuumed a day or two earlier. Even so, the amount of debris I saw being pulled out of our carpets was astonishing. Our carpet is only a couple of years old and we don't have pets, but after one use, the carpeting looked cleaner and felt thicker and more plush and reminded me of what the carpet felt like when it was new. It was something I wasn't expecting but was very welcome. Using the beater bar helps to pull the machine forward making it easy to use despite it being as heavy as it is. The dust collection canister is designed well and is extremely easy to empty. The entire canister can be thoroughly cleaned when needed with minimal effort. The power switch, while not mounted up on the handle is still conveniently located and also serves as a slide switch to turn on and off the beater bar. The cord is a good length and quality and it has a clip that serves to hold it in a good spot while vacuuming.
There are so many different ways to use this machine it was a bit confusing at first. Literally every piece snaps off and snaps back on with a positive audible click. You can release the top eight inches of the handle and snap on any of the on board attachments, or unsnap the entire handle for added reach. The machine is highly maneuverable on either carpets or floors and the wheels have a nice rubber banding on them that make it quiet on hard floors while protecting them at the same time. The motor is very quiet as well. Much less noise than I expected from a full size machine like this. This was a great surprise and one that was also very welcome. The beater bar is removed easily from the top by opening the housing it sits in, by simply pressing a release on each side of the head unit. A door swings up and the beater bar is just pulled straight out for easy cleaning. No flipping the entire machine over to unscrew the bottom plate to remove it. Very slick idea.
I found this machine design to be very well thought out. The assembly is very easy and each part can be snapped out and clicks back into place. Hose guides work well and are placed strategically to keep hoses clear of clogs when used as an upright. LED headlights are included and work well because of their low placement. We are thoroughly happy with this machine and continue to find and invent new ways to use it thanks to it's versatility. A high quality machine that works better than expected.

The Arlo Pro system is a welcome step in the right direction. For anyone that has always wanted a security system but doesn't want the hassle of running a communications cable and power to every camera location, this is the system for you.
This system comes with the base station, two cameras and mounts, and all the cables necessary for connecting the base station and charging the cameras. Video clips are stored in the Arlo cloud and each system comes with a free cloud storage package that lets you store video clips for a week at a time, which means you can continuously store the clips and the ones that are over seven days old, will drop off the list. You can choose to back them up to a USB drive as well if you wish so that you can save the important videos.
Setup was pretty easy and in fact the hardest time I had was setting up an Arlo account. I downloaded the mobile app and tried to set up an account from there, but it wouldn't, for whatever reason, finish the setup. When I used my laptop to set up an account, it worked just fine and everything went smoothly. It guides you through the setup process for each camera, and it was pretty straight forward. The base unit requires hard ethernet connection and a power connection, so you'll need to put this guy somewhere close to your router. The cameras are completely wireless, and the only time you'll need to physically connect them to anything is when you need to recharge the battery. I've been using them for over a week so far and the battery life indicators for each camera still indicate a 100% charge. Battery life seems really good and that was one of the things that I was a bit skeptical about. With a wireless installation like this, you can install these cameras virtually anywhere you like as long as they can connect to your home wireless network. Keep in mind however that at some point you will need to access the cameras to recharge the battery.
To mount them, they've included two magnetic mounting bases that you can install by using one screw to attach the base to a surface. From there, you just touch the camera to the base and it's attached securely via the magnet. This is another point that I was a little skeptical about, but once again I was proved wrong. The magnet is quite strong and is set up like a ball and socket arrangement that allows you to easily position the camera while it's magnetically attached to the base. The app has a mode that lets you access a live feed from the camera and position it while using the mobile app to view the video. Nice and easy.
The video is very clear and when it gets tripped on by movement, it records ten seconds of video. This can be altered by setting up a custom “mode” and not using one of the included modes. This system is really slick and you can use the mobile app to see if anything has been recorded (it will alert you with a message and email), or you can put a camera in Live mode to see just what's happening at any given time for as long as you want.
I guess if I was forced to complain about something, it would be the fact that when you need to recharge the battery in one of the cameras, you have to take down the camera and physically plug it in to the base station to charge, which means that you'll have to re-position it when its charged, and also if you want to buy an extra battery to have on hand, they are only sold with a wall charger and cable, but you still need to charge them while they're inside a camera, which is not very convenient, but all in all not a huge deal.
This system really worked well and since it's January, I wondered how it would perform. No problem at all, is the answer. The cameras are weather proof but I installed mine under my porch eves. The system will also let you hear and speak between the base station and the cameras, but I didn't have an occasion to use this feature. You can also purchase extra cameras and camera skins to help conceal them. The base station will handle up to five cameras. This system really worked well and since it's January, I wondered how it would perform. No problem at all, is the answer. The cameras are weather proof but I installed mine under my porch eves. The system will also let you hear and speak between the base station and the cameras, but I didn't have an occasion to use this feature. You can also purchase extra cameras and camera skins to help conceal them. The base station will handle up to five cameras. You can also upgrade your account with a monthly fee if you want to store your videos in cloud storage for longer than a week, but I didn't feel the need to do that. Great dryer with high quality features

Over the years I've watched my wife with hairdryer after hairdryer and all of them at one point have had major flaws or shortcomings. I got her the Dyson Supersonic to see if it had anything to offer over all the past ones that have cycled into the garbage.
She's used it about a week now and absolutely loves it. To start with, it's much quieter than any hairdryer I've ever heard. The power is amazing and it feels lighter and better balanced than standard dryers. She likes the magnetic attachments which are held securely in place but also allow them to be rotated. The high air velocity dries her hair quicker.
The controls are well laid out and accessible. There's one button for heat settings and a second for fan speed. Both are independently adjustable. Regardless of the heat setting, the dryer never feels overly hot to the touch and the handle remains comfortable to hold.
The air intake is at the bottom of the handle and is covered by a removable plastic screen that's easy to remove and wipe clean. The cord is substantial and is plenty long enough, and has a nice coating on it that allows it to stay un-tangled.. No curly cord on this dryer. This is a well designed, well conceived machine. If there was one thing that might be construed as a con, it would be the overly large line cord mounted transformer, but even this is placed at a good point on the cord and rather flat instead of boxy.
A two year parts and labor warranty is included. If you can swallow the price tag on this guy, it is well made and works better than expected, but alas, it is a huge stumbling point to get past.

Great features and easy setup

For the past few years I've relied on my ISP to furnish me with their Gateway device to serve as my modem and router. Previously, I had always used Linksys routers. Actually, the Arris gateway from my ISP was functioning adequately enough but I wanted to be sure I had the most up to date technology in my home network. So, I added the AC3200.
I began to scour the web for an accurate set of instructions to put my ISP gateway into bridge mode, to allow me to supply my own router. It seems simple enough, but all of the directions I found on my ISP's web site related to this procedure, give you just enough rope to hang yourself with, and pretty much don't address any of the actual steps to complete it successfully. I finally found some helpful posts and was able to get everything working.
Setting up the AC3200 was a breeze, and thinking back to my previous Linksys routers, they've all been easy to set up and user friendly besides. I was able to name both my 2.4 and 5.0 wireless networks the same as I had them when using my ISP's gateway, which made it extremely easy for all of my devices to just simply connect as usual. I have anywhere from 20 to 25 devices of all types connected at any given time on the 2.4, 5.0 and hardwired networks. I've had nothing but very smooth connections over all my devices. I haven't had any noticeable stutters when streaming and everything just seems to work with the least amount of user interaction (which is not to say that you can't if you want to, and I have).
Before I switched, I had pretty good wireless connection speeds but thought that they could be better. I honestly expected a bump up in that department. What I got was about the same or a little lower than I had (around 25 to 30Mbps on average to my PC's). Since I pay for 150Mbps, I was a bit disappointed. Playing around with the antennas had a small affect on speed, but nothing worth noting. I attribute most of the lack of speed to the setup of my house (walls with HVAC ducts and returns, equipment older than 2 years old, etc.). My house is not an open floor plan. When using the Ethernet ports, they show my true connection speeds as up around 180Mbps (30 more than my internet package). After getting a new laptop that also has MU-MIMO technology, I now get the full 180Mbps over Wi-Fi.
I've always had good experiences with Linksys products and this one is no exception. The downloadable android app is a really slick way to access your router settings from anywhere you happen to be, and gives you access to all the same details as you see with the web application. A really nice touch.
Aside from my overblown expectations, I really like this router. It's extremely stable and directs network traffic well. File transfers from my NAS drive are smooth and streaming is clean and fast. I've actually ordered the 8-port 4008 Linksys switch to go with it. If you're looking for cutting edge ac technology that's easy to set up and gives you a secure stable home network to add any device you can think of, this is a great choice.

I bought this after reading a positive review in a leading consumer magazine. It comes with an impressive number of accessories but the suction is weak. It would not even vacuum up bits of grass on my doormat. I returned it and bought the portable Dyson instead. Night and day difference.

Can you install a full version of microsoft office on the Slate 21?
No. You can only install Android apps. MS Office is available in a mobile edition though, and can be found on the Google Play store. It also comes with Kingsoft office pre-installed which is a nice mobile Office-like app that allows you to do a lot of the things that you would using Office.

Keyboard / mouse required? And multi-tasking
Are the keyboard and mouse required for the Slate 21? Or can we just use it as a tablet device with onscreen keyboard if need be?
Also, can it multi-task, meaning run two apps simultaneously for instance, netflix on one side of the screen and chrome on the other?

The keyboard and mouse are not required. We use ours without them.
As far as multitasking several apps at once, no. So far that's a bit of a reach for an Android machine.
