As a young woman, Lara Croft is in search of adventure — and herself. She embarks on an exploratory quest when her hunt for adventure comes looking for her. Now, stranded away from civilization, and equipped with only her instincts and the ability to push herself beyond the threshold of human endurance, Lara must look inside and find what she needs to fight for her survival.Step into the role of Lara Croft in this gritty and intense narration of the origin of the famed Tomb Raider. Armed with only her raw instincts and physical abilities, you must rise from a scared young woman to a hardened survivor. Push yourself past the limits of human endurance and fight to stay alive in merciless environments. Endure physics-based gaming for an authentic gameplay experience. Pre-order Tomb Raider and receive a six-part comic book about the voyage of the Endurance, and unlock two bonus in-game features — the steep, exhilarating Shanty Town multiplayer map and a code for an exclusive skin for Lara. I was worried when I heard they turned Lara into a whimp in this game, but now that I played it, I can assure you she is anything but whimp in this game (excluding the very beginning). As a matter of fact, she is a balanced character portrayed in a decent story.
******************************Pros**************************************
**Action Adventure Setting and Gameplay: The story takes place on an island. There is a good mix of both uncharted games like action and island exploration. While story is linear for most part, you traverse through many open areas and allowed to go back there for exploration.
**Freedom in Stealth and Action gameplay: While at times you are forced to fight the enemies, other times you can either sneak past them or stealth kill them. I enjoyed this variety in the gameplay. A welcome addition.
**Great Character Development: When the story starts out Lara is just a girl, but they do a good job showing how she turns into a survivor and a warrior. I like how during the mid and late game she calls out onto enemies. “Yes, still alive you bast….”
Made me laugh. Very enjoyable.
**Nice Scenic Location and Graphics: The scenery is pretty great: woods, caves, ancient tombs, wreaked ships, shores and more. It looks great and feels great traveling through them during day and night times.
**Upgradable Skills, Weapons and Equipment: I never thought I would like using and upgrading different weapons so much in this game. Especially the composite bow. It rocks. It is nice how you can gain experience doing various tasks ranging from killing enemies and animals to collect experience and material to upgrade both your skills and weapons.
**Reward for Exploration: I only like exploring different places in the game if they have something useful and interesting. The best thing you can find in this game while exploring is diaries. It has texts but also voice recording which adds depth and emotion to the writings in the diaries. Also they help you understand the story much better. Other than that there are treasures which are somewhat interesting as you can examine them and gain some additional experience.
**Action Sequences: This game has uncharted like action sequences. While I am not a big fan of quick time moments, I didn’t mind them in this game and enjoyed the action sequences.
**Tombs: Very interesting puzzles.
******************************Cons**************************************
**Glitches: Good thing there are no game ending glitches like Skyrim, but there are noticeable number of them. I am happy that restarting the last save point fixed all of them.
**Enemies and bosses: This game has very few different types of enemies. And the types of enemies that are interesting are at very end and for a small portion of the game. Also could have included more boss fights and could have done better job with the ones that are in there.
**Tombs: Interesting puzzles but very short and could yield better rewards than simply experience.
**Survivor (Batman) vision: Nice how you can spot objects of interest with it, but I found myself tapping L2 so many times and it is not nice how everything else turns black and white. It is a strain on your eyes. It would be easier and better if they just make the objects of interest glow without making everything black and white.
******************************Conclusion**************************************
Yes the game is not perfect, but it is a worthy reboot. Liked how they developed Lara’s character from beginning to end. The gameplay is enjoyable and something I can see myself playing more for 100% completion. With the cons I described I would give it a 8.9/10.

A Great Heck&Slash Game

When initially Kojima and team developed this game, I was not sure what to expect, but as soon as xPlatinum Studio (Creators of Bayonetta, Vanquish) took over the development, I wasted no time in preordering this game. After finishing the campaign and some VR missions, this is how I would put it.
******************************Pros**************************************
-Satisfying Heck&Slash Gameplay: This is the main reason you should buy this game. If you liked Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, Dante’s Inferno or may be even God of War, this is the game for you. While heck&slash action is not as great as say Devil May Cry 3, it is tons of fun. Plus, the Blade Mode is unique.
-Unique Blade Mode: Yes this is what you see in trailers. Where time is frozen or very slow and Raiden is precision slicing through enemies, tanks, objects etc. At first I felt that it didn’t go well with heck&slash gameplay, but in half and hour I began to love it and I especially enjoyed the creative use of it during enemies and boss fight.
-Boss Battles: I love games with good boss battles and Rising definitely has some really nice bosses. I like how each boss battle requires some strategy. You simply can’t button mash your way out of it. I especially loved the high speed boss battles where you utilize combination of Raiden’s ninja run, blade mode and combos. This is one reason I will be playing this game over and over and over again.
-Last Boss: WOW I just loved it. They make this guy look like a joke in the beginning but it is only after you listen to his reasoning and fight him, you realize that he deserves to be final boss in every sense. Bravo to whoever came up with the idea. I was really surprised by this and truly enjoyed this fight.
-Nicely designed unique enemies: This game surprisingly offers decent amount of different enemies ranging from weak cyborgs to large gekkos. Each requires a slightly different strategy making gameplay quite fun.
-Ninja Run: I really like the concept of ninja run in this game. Raiden running around the enemies (especially fast huge and heavily armed enemies), dodging and deflecting bullets, passing through the objects….. looks just so awesome.
-Nice graphics and great scenic locations: Graphics were better than I expected and environment are nicely designed for the most stages.
-Decent variety of upgradable weapons: The primary and secondary weapons (but not subweapons) are interesting. I especially liked the arm-poll. The fact that you can upgrade them adds RPG element to this game, making fights and gathering experience more fun.
-Zandatsu and precision right hand chops: To replenish your health, energy you need to precision cut enemies at certain points (zandatsu) and to acquire certain new upgrades you need to collect right hands of certain enemies. Both of these require precision cutting. I didn’t think I would, but I actually ended up liking this.
-VR Missions and New game plus: The game itself is not that long, but you can unlock VR missions and play them adding longevity to the experience. Also new game plus mode allows you to keep weapons and experience so you can master all the weapons, acquire all the upgrades and techniques. Like it.
******************************Cons**************************************
-Identity Crisis: There was absolutely no need to keep stealth in this perfectly fine heck&slash game but I guess having Metal Gear in the name the creators decided to do so. I see no reason why a kickas* cyborg needs to hide at all. Also hiding is not the reason I purchase this game. I purchased it because I wanted to toss metal gear in the air and chop it up into millions of pieces. They should have just made this is a pure heck&slash game instead of keeping some missions stealth which are highly annoying.
-Missed opportunities: This could have been a great game if they focused the story more on Raiden or the Metal gear universe. They could have made the story so much more personal to Raiden. But instead they decided to fill the cut scenes with cheesy and lame jokes and dialogues. Such a tragedy.
-Subweapons: They are difficult to use in fast-paced combat and hurt the pace so badly. Also many of them don’t make sense. A javelin does less damage to choppers than your blade. Simply remove them.
******************************Conclusion**************************************
Contrary to the cons I described the gameplay alone in this game makes it worth it. Not to mention the last boss who cracked me up. While short, it had variety of enemies and fun bosses. This really adds to replayability of this game and worth a purchase. If you like DMC, Ninja Gaiden, Bayonetta etc. do yourself a favor and give this a shot.

As members of the elite peacekeeping force Dead Echo, Grayson Hunt and Ishi Sato fear deception within the ranks and decide to strike out on their own. Quite Surprised

Looking trailers and hearing its reviews, I had little to no expectations for this game. But then I liked Gears of War and Shadow Complex games and since this was also being released by Epic, I thought why not give it a shot. After finishing the campaign mode and trying Ecos and Anarchy modes, I have to say I am quite surprised.
***********PROS.***************
-AWESOME COMBAT SYSTEM: This is the best aspect of this game. You can slide, leash to pull enemies, kick them and use variety of weapons with primary and second fire and pull a huge variety of combination off of them. At first you may feel like it may get redundant, but thanks to variety in levels, there are a huge variety of things you can do. Thanks to that you won’t get bored till the end of the campaign.
-VARIETY IN LEVELS: Other than awesome combat, there is plenty of variety in levels. Throughout the campaign you experience a variety of environments including the space, woody greenery filled areas, abandoned factories, building high in the sky that is about to fall apart and list goes on.
-SURPRISES: There parts during the campaign where you will be surprised by certain events and the gameplay that will follow it. I really don’t want to spoil it for you, but trust me you will like it.
-GREAT GRAPHICS AND DECENT ART WORK: The first time I saw the trailer for this game, it really looked unpolished to me. But now that I have finished the campaign, I can say that since then they seem to have refined it quite a bit. Certain levels just look gorgeous. I guess never doubt the power of unreal engine.
-VARIETY IN WEAPONS: There are 8 different types of weapons and that is not including the leash. Each weapons (including leash) has devastating alternate fire mode. There is just plethora of combos you can do if you mix and match these weapons. I personally enjoyed each and every one of them. Also, while some weapons may look and sound familiar from other games, they will play very differently in this game. For example with sniper rifle in this game you can change the direction of bullet after you fire it. I personally have enjoyed the variety very much.
-UPGRADABLES: To top of each weapon is upgradeable with the skill point you earn by killing enemies in creative ways. This rpg element will truly encourage you to creatively kill enemies and get as many skill points as possible. While this rpg element is not as well thought of as other games, it still adds incentive to do your best.
-ONLINE PLAY AND ECOS MODE: While not my favorites (see cons.), after you finish the game, you can stay busy by playing online multiplayer (anarchy mode) or Ecos mode which has the same levels as campaign but gives you stars on your performance.
************CONS************
-RELATIVELY SHORT CAMPAIGN: Hate how games these days have such short single player campaigns. Unfortunately bulletstorm is one of them. While I enjoyed each and every moment of the campaign I found it to be very short (~7-8 h max and that is because I explore a lot).
-MINOR GLITCHES: I had my character stuck while jumping over objects at least 3-4 times. Unacceptable. All the games have glitches, but under no circumstances your character should be stuck like this. I mean you can’t even kill yourself. Restarting the level is the only option.
-MEH MULTIPLAYER AND ECOS MODE: Compare to some other games these days, I didn’t enjoy the multiplayer so much. I got tired of it rather quickly. Also the Ecos mode felt the exact same as the campaign. I wish they had added more varieties.
-LACK OF NEW GAME+ MODE: This is a game that can really use a new game+ mode (i.e. start with all the weapons you collected etc.). Unfortunately, it doesn’t have it. So there are some really cool weapons and upgrades you get towards the end of the game. Unfortunately, if you want to use them again, you will have to play the game again and you will only get to use them for last few levels. Just very unfortunate.
**********CONCLUSION****************
Simply speaking I am looking forward to Bulletstorm 2. Partly because I enjoyed this game and partly I have faith in the developers that they will improve the weak aspects of this game. All and all I enjoyed pulling off crazy combos in beautiful, but destructible environments, but I wish they had longer campaign and had fixed some of the things described in the con section. I give this game 8.5/10.

GTA in Wild West

While I am not the biggest fan of GTA games, I surely do enjoy them. Being created by the same developers and getting some awesome reviews, I decided to give Red Dead Redemption a shot, contrary to the fact that I am not a big fan of wild west genre either. After playing 30+ hours of story mode and few hours online, here is what I thought.
*************PROS.*****************
TOUCHING STORY: The story, to me at least, was the strongest aspect of this game. I personally loved it. The game is about life and struggles of “a cowboy” called John Marston. Unfortunately, I can’t describe more without spoiling, but as you will progress through the game you will learn some shocking facts about this main character and story will introduce you to some mind-blowing surprises that you will not see coming.
GREAT OPENWORLD WILD WEST GAMEPLAY: After the story, this is the second most appealing feature of the game. You are free to roam in relatively huge open world and do variety of activities, which include but are not limited to shooting bandits and thieves, gambling, playing various games, catching and taming horses, hunting and ranching. Words are simply not enough to describe these gameplay or the joy will get from it. Play it to experience it.
PLENTY OF MISSIONS AND SIDE MISSIONS: The story of this game is divided into missions. You will be traveling from one point on the world map to another to get these missions like GTA games and doing a huge variety of things (see above section). Completing each mission will unlock new missions. In addition to main missions, you will have plenty of side missions. To me both doing missions and side missions was very rewarding as completing them would unlock more of the fascinating story or humorous events.
GREAT IN GAME GRAPHICS, ANIMATION AND ART: This game looks wild west looks gorgeous. I am so amazed contrary to taking place in big open world, everything you see and experience feels so real. From creation of different land structures to plants, trees, animal and people, everything gives you the feeling that you are in actual wild west. Gorgeous simply gorgeous!
CINEMATIC CUTSCENES: Cutscenes are so nicely designed in this game that sometimes you forget you are playing a game and it simply feels like a movie. Part of that is due to the solid voice acting and part is due to detail in facial expressions of different characters. There are a lot of cutscenes, but most are short and well placed between the missions.
GREAT LENGTH AND REPLAYABILITY: As stated above, I am 30+ hr into the game. I have finished the main story, but there are still many side missions and miscellaneous activity to finish. These days when most games are 6-10 hr long, having games like this makes my day (or month to be precise).
ONLINE GAMEPLAY: Not a huge fan of online gameplay anymore, but to those who care, it is available in this game and from little I have played, it feels quite addicting. Please refer to other reviews, as I am not a big fan of this.
DOWNLOADABE CONTENTS: While it is not free, to those who care you can download few DLCs off online. To me, the most interesting one seems the undead nightmare.
*************CONS.*****************
WATER=INSTANT DEATH: Hate it, simply hate it. I can understand if you say the main character can’t swim, but then create invisible walls where you have bodies of water. What will happen is you will go near a body of water because it will have a chest there and before you know it you move your analogue stick in slightly wrong direction, fall into the water and die. So stupid!
MINOR GLITCHES: Hate to point it out, but there are minor glitches in the game. There are places you will get stuck or fall. But don’t worry, it is nowhere near as bad as Fallout 3.
*************CONCLUSION***********
I give this game 9/10. Some of you may ask why give it such a high score after describing such cons. But the fact is this game has faults because the developers have been daring and tried to create something unique and big. If it can please me (a non GTA and not Wild West genre fan) then I would say it is a must buy for those who love either GTA or Wild West genre.

Join John Marston in his heroic battle for survival in Red Dead Redemption for the Xbox 360. Draw your pistols for gun fights, bounty hunts and train robberies as you venture across the American frontier. The open-world action of Red Dead Redemption lets you take the law into your own hands as you help the former outlaw protect his family.

Another Masterpiece by Kojima

I was very hesitant to buy this game as I did not like the previous Metal Gear games on PSP that much, but then Hideo Kojima said he was deeply involved in this project and the reviewers gave it pretty good scores so I recently decided to give it a shot. After playing it and finishing it once with most of the extra missions (25+ hrs and still playing), here is what I thought.
****************PROS.****************
AN ACTUAL MGS TYPE OF GAMEPLAY ON PSP: The best thing about Metal Gear Solid games is its gameplay. Unlike most games where run and gun gameplay is promoted, in metal gear games sneaking gameplay is highly encouraged, but if you are not big on sneaking then you can always run and gun. I am so happy to see that Peace Walker carries on this legacy and allows player to choose how they want to play.
SMARTLY DESIGNED CONTROLS: So how do you play third person shooter on PSP which only has one analogue stick? Well this game has very smartly designed shooter controls that make use of (O, X, Square, Triange) buttons as second analogue stick and still delivers shooter type of experience. At first you may find it difficult to use, but once you get used to them, you will love them. If not, there are two other control formats, so chances are at least one of them will work for you.
VARIETY IN MISSIONS AND SCENARY: The story of this game progresses through you completing different missions. I have to say these missions are very nicely designed. While completing the game you will go through jungles, villages, factories and more (don’t want to spoil). While going through these areas you will encounter variety of enemies and will be forced to do many different tasks to progress through the story. I have to say there hasn’t been a single time I felt why I am doing this or that mission. For most part they were quite fun.
PLENTY OF SIDE MISSIONS: In additions to main missions, you will be encouraged to do plenty of side missions. Completing these side missions will reward you with variety of things. See the below section for more detail.
LOADS AND LOADS OF EXTRA GAMEPLAY: So throughout the games doing missions and side missions you are expected recruit people and create your own army. The major characters will get recruited in your army automatically as you progress through the game. As for the rest of them, you have to knock out enemy soldiers and prisoners and send them using helium balloon. I know it sounds corny, but it is quite humorous when you play it. And then you can use these recruits to complete different missions, develop different weapons, wage wars etc. etc. There is just so much to do. This game will truly surprise and please you.
ENJOYABLE BOSS FIGHTS: Bosses in this game are simply spectacular. They will range from military vehicles such as tanks and choppers to devastating Metal Gears. Simply put boss fights are strategic in nature and defeating them is quite rewarding. And when I say rewarding it is just not as entertainment value, but depending on how you defeat these bosses you can make use out of them. For example, if you defeat military vehicles the right way you can salvage them, add them to your army and deploy them in extra missions. Same with defeating Metal Gear, depending on how you defeat them you can salvage their parts and use them to make your own Metal Gear. Awesome right?
WEAPONS AND GADGETS: To complete these different missions and side missions, you will have access to variety of weapons and gadgets. Some of these include but are not limited to tranquilizer gun, sniper rifle, various machine guns and heavy machine guns, rocket launchers, radar, sound indicator and the list goes on. Not all of them are available in the beginning. You will have to unlock them of course by growing your army.
UPGRADES: All of these weapons as well as your staff can be upgraded. This adds an RPG element to the game and really encourages you to replay your missions, do better on them and grow your staff. This adds a whole new dimension to the gameplay.
GREAT STORY, DECENT VOICE ACTING AND COMIC BOOK STYLE CUTSCENES: If you have played other MGS games than you know all the Hideo Kojima games have amazing stories. They won’t always make sense, but as you go through them you sure as hell enjoy them. In this game such story is accompanied by decent voice acting and portrayed mainly through comic-book style depiction. I personally loved it and found it quite artistic.
REPLAY ANYTHING YOU WANT: To me this is an awesome addition. You can replay any mission or any cutscene over again. So if you missed something or if you didn’t perform well in a cutscene you can relive those moments and collect anything you have missed without having to play whole game again. Marvelous just marvelous!
ONLINE CO-OP GAMEPLAY: I am not much into online play, but if you have a buddy with PS3, you can co-op play a lot of the missions, trade your soldiers and do a whole lot of things.
KOJIMA HUMOR: This can be hit or miss. There are many moments in the game where you will encounter weird humor. I would describe it to you, but truly don’t want to ruin it for you guys. I personally found it funny, but I can’t say for sure for you.
**************CONS.*******************
MEANT TO BE MUCH BIGGER (OUTER OPS): Don’t get me wrong this game is amazing and you will love it. But while playing it you will get the feeling that this game was meant to be much bigger than it is. It could have been meant for PS3 with a lot more stuff added to it. For example, in outer ops section you simply deploy your troops/mechs/metal gear and do nothing else. Knowing Kojima he probably planned something better for it (i.e. deploy it and then strategically use them to beat enemies). It is hard to describe, but if you are a Kojima fan, you will see what I am saying.
****************CONCLUSION********************
Simply put, I have enjoyed Peace Walker as much if not more as any other MGS. It is a must buy for MGS fans and if you are not a fan you should still give it a shot. Chances are it will sweep you off your feet. Contrary to the con I described, I give it 10/10. Giving it anything less just seems very unfair. Bravo Kojima Bravo.

The Halo Reach Game

This game is perfect i played the Beta and it was fun I've seen the forge trailer and how Bungie explains the forge part and it sounded pretty easy and fun because you can make objects float change color and make them go in the mountain or go inside other objects.......What i think you people should do is wait until the game is cheaper or if you want the special edition ones get it then.I would rather you all get the game itself.Overall this game is the best ,some people say there is a level like Star wars Battlefront the game.Who knows...
