Great movie
on January 2, 2009

With all the game to movie adaptations, the ones that are complete bombs, I was hesitant about seeing this movie at first. Then Christmas rolled around and my girl bought it for me...
+
I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with the film as a whole. There was a ton of action and an interesting storyline. I really think that the cast delivered extremely well, way better than I had suspected.
+
As I was saying, there is a large amount of action, but best of all they get the point across without blood flying all over the place. I hate when movies have to have unrealistic blood exploding all over the place!
+
Since getting the movie on Christmas, I have watched it three times and it hasn't yet become boring. I would certainly recommend at least seeing it once. Good stuff!
What's great about it: Olga Kurylenko, Casting was pretty good, good story, lot of action with not a lot of "blood and guts"!
What's not so great: Alternate ending

Bombs Away...

I am a major AVA fan, love their music, it heavily influence the music that I write and I have to say that while this wasn't the best DVD out there, people should really take it for what it's worth. It seems to be more about the creation of the band, what lead to the Blink-182 breakup, and just a little insight to the mind of Tom Delong.
+
In the end, I found this short video pretty interesting, but I really do wish that it had more live footage. Every video that Tom releases is always short on the live action! If you are a REAL Angels fan, you can probably appreciate this video, if you just want to see a live concert, don't bother getting this dvd, just get the cd.
What's great about it: Shows some of the creation process for AVA, gives some insight to the "Blink Breakup",
What's not so great: Just like any DVD that Tom is in (All Blink DVDs), THERE ISN'T ENOUGH LIVE ACTION!

This season is short and bittersweet!
on November 26, 2008

This season is very, very short, and very to the point. It ends with an odd finale, one that I certainly didn't see coming. Overall, it's a great collection of episodes, I just wish that it was a little bit longer, I hated to see it come to an end after a measley 11 episodes. Don't expect the same barrage of hospital antics in this set as they have delivered in the previous, but expect to enjoy the one disc of entertainment that you'll be watching.
+
I would most definitely recommend purchasing this season, if nothing else, for the ending. Just a warning, not that it really matters, but they cheaped out a little bit on the video casing (No longer the interesting doctor chart, just a plain old DVD case.), not a big deal, but I just like the novelties.
What's great about it: Some good episodes, unexpected ender!
What's not so great: Very short, not many episodes, case is not typical of all the other Scrubs seasons... just a regular box.

Daniel Craig bursts into action as the newest addition to the Bond anthology! This movie sets the stage for all the Bond movies that were ever made. It finally ties up the loose ends of the woman he loved and how he became the famous 007.
+
The plot takes multiple twists and turns and somehow managed to maintain my interest even in the second hour! Great acting, great plot, great action, great new Bond girl (Eva Green), great flick!
+
This episode plays to a slightly different tune than that of previous Bond movies, but they have definitely hit the right note with this one. There are really too many different things that happen to even bother explaining the basis of the movie, but to sum it up in a few short words, Bond is back, and better than ever!
+
See this movie!!!
What's great about it: Great new Bond choice, awesome storyline with multiple elements, smart
What's not so great: very long movie!

Good comedy, a little off though...
on October 8, 2008

This movie portrays an inevitable part of life that we all go through at one time or another; heartbreak. Though the central theme of the movie is that of a heartbroken man that is trying to forget the girl he thought was to forever be "the one", it offers a good two hours of comedy.
+
After discovering that his long time girlfriend, Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell), the hottest actress on TV, has decided to leave him for someone else, Peter (Jason Segal) decides to take a small quest to find himself and forget about her.
+
He speaks with a doctor, becomes a short time womanizer, then ultimately decides that he just needs to take a lengthy vacation. Upon arriving at Hawaii, a place that Sarah always talked about visiting, he finds that she just so happens to be there with her new rock-star boyfriend, Aldrous (Russell Brand).
+
Peter ends up meeting a gorgeous customer service rep., Rachel (Mila Kunis), from the resort and soon finds that forgetting Sarah Marshall isn't the hardest thing in the world.
+
The movie takes multiple twists and turns and ends up with the good ol' fashioned "everyone's happy" ending. Good movie, worth watching, but I will say, the nudity kind of catches you off guard! A very okward, uncomfortable scene!!!
What's great about it: Good acting and casting, pretty intersting throughout, lots of laughs
What's not so great: Kristen Bell and Russell Brand don't really seem like a good match in the show, just kind of an okward pair...

From the man who brought you Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels comes this hilarious and hyper-stylized gangster opus focusing on a valuable diamond and a collection of quirky criminals -- arriving on DVD courtesy of Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment. The feature is viewable in either the original aspect ratio of 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen or 1.33:1 pan-and-scan, with audio selections including closed-captioned English Dolby Digital 5.1 or French Dolby Digital Surround with optional English, French, or Pikey subtitles. Brilliant!!

This is definitely one of Brad Pitt/Jason Stratham's best movies EVER! There is a great plot that, though sometimes gets itself sidetracked, always keeps itself prevelant through the fog.
+
To be fair, there are actually numerous different plots that develop throughout the movie, but the gist of it is this...
+
Avi, (Dennis Farina) is trying to get his hands on a massive diamond, and everyone else seems to have the same idea. He decides to send Frankie Four Fingers (Benicio Del Toro) to retrieve it; this is how the movie starts.
+
Turkish (Jason Stratham) is managing a boxer named Gorgeous George, who consequently gets KTFO by an Irish gypsy boxer named Mickey (Brad Pitt).
+
Now, Gorgeous George was supposed to take to the ring and fight a boxer under the management of Brick Top (Alan Ford), a man that no-one seems to want to mess with. Since Mickey sent Gorgeous to the ER, and the fight had to go on, Turkish and his partner Tommy (Stephen Graham) negotiate a caravan deal with Mickey to step in and fight. The only stipulation, he has to throw the fight...
+
The movie keeps building on itself and comes to an explosive ending that is sure to make you glad that you just sat through the whole thing. It has comedy, wit, and an all-star cast, definitely an amazing movie. Highly recommended.
What's great about it: All-star cast, great acting and character portrayal, hilarious without even trying, brilliant ending

This was a major thumbs up after taking into consideration the disaster of a Hulk film made a few years prior.
+
Edward Norton was a great choice for the role, he does an awesome job! The movie itself could have probably been a little thicker on plot, but the film gets its point across.
+
As I said in the cons, I was not at all impressed with Liv Tyler's performance in the movie. She is a very forgettable character and isn't very convincing in her role. It's almost like she didn't want to be on set and it shows through. Just my opinion...
+
Overall, a great movie, especially if you want something to make up for the travesty they released a few years ago. I recommend at least giving it a chance.
What's great about it: Awesome visuals, Edward Norton is good for the role
What's not so great: Liv Tyler really didn't do well in this movie... Bad choice of charater.

"Rockin'"
on October 2, 2008

These little rocks, rocked my world after I hooked them up! First impressive thing about these speakers; the design.
+
Not only are they pretty well weighted, they bare a remarkable resemblance to a real rock! Stack a couple of real stones next to them and you'd never know the difference!
+
The sound quality is pristine, for the price range that is. I have never heard this high of quality from such a cheap speaker. You can get some serious volume out of these speakers too!
+
Another neat feature is that they have a bolt anchor on their bottom side. This is great for locking them down in preperation for severe weather.
+
I have purchased two pairs of these speakers for my yard and would highly recommend them to anyone that is looking for serious sound out of a little rock!
What's great about it: Awesome sound quality, loud, amazingly close resemblance to a rock!
What's not so great: Could use a better bass tone, but no biggy.

An awesome adaptation of the Iron Man series. Robert Downy Jr. plays an excellent Tony Stark; he executes the part perfectly. Gwyneth Paltrow plays Pepper, Starks assistant, she plays the part well and the on screen tension/chemistry between the two is made very obvious throughout the film.
+
The whole movie has enough hook to keep ones interest, and at the same time throws in enough humor to keep it light-hearted and funny.
+
While the plot almost diverts itself after the first hour or so, it circles back around to delivers one final burst of action. It is a good movie and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to see a good action flick! Let's just say, I'll be waiting for a sequel!
What's great about it: Good action scenes and special effects. Decent acting all around. Good casting.

Good, long lasting ink...
on September 30, 2008
Posted by: Volearix
from Zionsville, IN
I make covers for an average of 50+ cd covers a day and with each pack of this ink that I have bought, I get 100-150 cd covers. That is pretty good in my opinion.
+
While this ink is pretty expensive, all ink is, so that really cannot be a factor in this review. The ink quality isn't the best, but it is really good for a tri-color pack (opposed to ink that is seperated by individual colors).
+
The only real issue that I have had is that sometimes there are areas of my print where the ink is a little faint. It kind of resembles a white line. Could be a fault in my printer though. Any way it goes, it's not a big deal because it barely ever happens.
+
I would recommend this ink when looking to print medium quality flyers, reports, small presentations, or medium quality photos.
What's great about it: Fairly long lasting, decent quality of prints.
What's not so great: Expensive, but all ink is...

how to hook up my pc to play files on my media player through the reciever?

go to any store that sells component to 1/8 inch or 1/32 inch (whatever your computer sound hookup uses). In other words a red/white to 1/8 inch hookup.
-
Take the red/white part and hook it into any slot of your receiver (doesn't matter if it is labeled as DVD/VCR/CD/V-AUX, they'll all work), then hook the other end into your PC. When the corosponding channel is selected on your receiver, and the music is selected on your PC, the audio should be routed through your surround sound system.
