Good Console, Bad Advertising, Terrible Management

I wanted a second console in order to play system link with my girlfriend and this seemed like a fantastic deal for the price. Maybe yes for some, definite no for me.
First, let's start with the good. The console itself looks great! Love the sleek design, matches the my Samsung F8000 superbly! Very light power cable compared to the brick my old console required and runs a bit more quietly as well. Finally, I think a 250 gb hard drive and one game (explain in the bad) is pretty decent deal. Seems to be the standard for this setup, so I figured why not?! Well, in my opinion, here is "why not"...
First off, the controller was broken. Seemed to play just fine, but the headset connection was broken (discovered on our first system link fiasco as our two televisions are in separate rooms). Second, the Tomb Raider game is download only, which is not mentioned anywhere in the description (though to be entirely objective upon further looking into it, the picture does show this). Normally I wouldn't care about that, however, internet is not even currently available in my area which renders this download completely useless. Third, the other game (Halo 4) is probably okay for some, but neither I or my girlfriend are fans of the series (which I'm not really complaining about as I would have considered it just an added value had the rest came together well). Fourth, I can't believe the 360 STILL doesn't come with an HDMI cable! I know it states this clearly on the package, but come on Microsoft, really?! Last but most certainly not least, the reason in which I have ultimately decided to return this device and purchase it from whichever random competitor I find... I went back to my local Best Buy store to voice my concerns relating to this item and was met with an abrasive, unprofessional and rude management staff (which was disappointing as the previous staff I had dealt with months ago were all extremely helpful and understanding).
Overall, I can't say this is a terrible bundle. The Xbox alone is probably worth the $250, but the experience itself has left me underwhelmed and I have no further desire to own it or deal with this store in general. Hope this helps any that might unintentionally wind up in the same predicament!
My Best Buy number: 0767393094
What's great about it: Xbox 360 with 250gb Hard Drive
What's not so great: Tomb Raider is Download only, Management is Rude

Great Cable! Really long for the price!

I absolutely love these network cables! They make playing with friends an absolute dream! The 50 foot cord is more than enough length to reach almost anywhere in my house making the options for multiplayer gaming much more interesting.
+
I have only had this cord for a short period of time now, but I love having the ability to play with a friend on two side by side tvs or set up big team matches with one tv in my bedroom and the other in my living room! The connection speed is not the fastest I've seen, but it is great for the price.
+
The only bad thing about this cord is having to wrap up 50 feet of cording everytime I'm done with it. In reality though, I would never complain about having an ample amount of cable for a rediculous low price! Also, when I looked at basic ethernet Cat6 cables, the price is nowhere near decent in comparison ($50 - $80 each!!!).
+
I would highly recommend this cable to anyone out there. I have only found it in white, but unless you are really crazy about your cords matching your xbox console (and you don't have a basic Arcade or Pro version), you'll be just fine.
What's great about it: Great Quality, 50 Feet of Cable, Fast Connection Speed
What's not so great: 50 Feet of Cord Excessive For My Little 12 Foot Room, But Who's Complaining!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Modern Warfare 2

I have been off and on with this MW2 since its' release and I have to say that it is a very enjoyable game. The fact that I keep coming back to it speaks for itself enough considering how easily I tend to bore of a game.
+
First, I have to touch on what everyone is saying about the campaign. Personally I enjoyed it. The storyline was decent and most definitely an interesting concept. It wasn't the hardest campaign to finish, but it was fun none-the-less, I have a decent amount hours logged on the campaign itself.
+
The key highlight for me has been the multiplayer and xbox live play. I have spent a significant amount of time on live, as well as just doing some free-for-all matches with some friends of mine. I have found the weapon leveling system to be very fun! I like how you have to posses either a certain amount of skill or large amount of freetime to unlock upgrades for your weapons. I always hated the person who would run around with the best weapon and equipment on a game and obtain a decent score just because of their inventory.
+
Now, on the other hand, one bad thing about the live play and weapons... The akimbo shotguns... Just in case you are not familiar with this, it is a dual wielded shotgun that does very high damage and has a rediculous spread that will hit its target if you are even remotely close. It takes little to no skill with this weapon and every online game, there seems to be some no talent idiot running around blasting people with these. Last I checked, video games are quite a bit more fun when there is some sort of tactics or planning employed.
+
Overall, I have found this game to be great! Great graphics, awesome leveling system, fun campaign, and intense multiplayer action. I would recomment this game to any FPS lover.
What's great about it: Weapon/Player Level System on Live & Multi, Graphics, Gameplay Controls, Level Detail, Weapon Selection
What's not so great: *Multiplayer Advancement Does not Coordinate With Live, Multiplayer Live is Limited to One Screen

Best Incubus Cd to date...
on April 20, 2009

This is definately Incubus' best CD yet! I can listen to this album any time of any day! Me and my friends are always looking for great music to cruise around to, and we definately found it with "Morning View".
In this Cd, Incubus finally found their distinctive sound. From the first song to the last, you'll realize that the amazing first half of the album isn't "Just a Phase". Most bands put all their good songs at the beginning of their release; Incubus made sure that every song on the CD was a worthy of those first three song slots! Get this Cd and you won't be disappointed!
What's great about it: The music!!!

Nice addition to your 360

Xbox 360 seems to focus on the ease of use and wireless capabilities, which is good, but at times it can be a pain. During these times, I am glad that they have came up with a backup plan!
+
This little cord and battery makes gaming a dream, when it works that is. I have purchased a few of these already and two of them have been faulty. I don't know if it was just a fluke, or if they are just poorly created, but it has been kind of irritating. The one that I have that works, is awesome though.
+
I love being able to play without wires in my way, and I love that when you do have to be "wired", you are actively charging your controller back to full life! That is a really nice feature I think.
+
Not a plethora of things to touch on with this item, but it is very nice to have if you do a large amount of gaming and hate to waste all your video game buying money on batteries! Just be sure that it charges within your first thirty days of buying!
What's great about it: Charges while you play, black in color to match with an elite system
What's not so great: Have purchased two defective ones already, had to return them...

I was a little skeptical about purchasing this keyboard at first because it didn't, at first glance, seem to be worth the price... I was wrong. Though I do not take advantage of xbox live, I can say that this keyboard is still an amazing addition to my setup!
+
I love uploading my cds to my hard-drive, but I hated the amount of time it took to name all the tracks and label every song; it took up to ten minutes sometimes just to upload and name a single cd! LAME! Now, with this new little keyboard, it takes three or four minutes tops!
+
Another thing, though this is just personal preference, I love the bulky feel that it gives the controller, it just looks so cool! It makes your controller look more like some kind of SUPER REMOTE!
+
A cool feature that has really sold me on this product is the simplicity of use and responsiveness to querries. I have used onboard keyboards like this before and they seem to only respond to button requests when they feel like it. This one responds perfectly! The only okward thing is that when you type quickly on it, the beep that acknowledges the pressed button doesn't always keep up. You'll see what I mean if you get one, not a big annoyance or anything though. Easily looked past after you get comfortable with the controls
+
One more cool feature about this QWERTY keyboard is that it lights up when you use it! This is really good for gamers like me because I enjoy playing with either no light or very minimal light; it seems to make the graphics better on the darker looking video games!
+
Anyway, this little gem has pleasantly suprised me and I will probably invest in another! If you use the on-screen keyboard more than none, do yourself a favor and get one of these!
What's great about it: Ten times easier and faster than the on-screen keyboard! Adds a cool look to your controller!
What's not so great: Haven't found anything bad about it so far, it just makes xbox life easier!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best GTA I have played as of yet.
on April 6, 2009
Posted by: Volearix
from Zionsville, IN
Though this may not be the most in depth game that I have ever played, it is probably the best GTA that I have ever played. There are more than a couple reasons that I say this, but let's start with the bad...
+
1.) The Vehicle Handling - The worst thing about this game in my opinion is how the vehicles are controlled. There are only a very select few cars that I am willing to cruise around in throughout the game because of the poor handling! That is probably just personal preference however.
+
2.) Still working on finding this one!
+
Now, onto the good stuff...
+
1.) Niko - The main character is so much better than that of the previous GTA "heroes". He doesn't have that, "I'm CJ *****" attitude, he isn't completely silent, and he isn't convinced that he is the king of the world. Really laid back and only seldom does he spout off some pointless quip.
+
2.) The Map - Though I was a big fan of Vice City's map, I have to say that thus far I am enjoying the new Liberty City more. This could just be because of the massive dissapointment they offered up in San Andreas (what a stinker!!!)
+
3.) The Minimal, but sufficient customization - I want to start by saying that I am a character customization "NUTZOID", but I found all the different systems that were offered in San Andreas to be neat, but for the most part dead-end wastes of time. GTA isn't really about being this custom character, it's about playing out the story that is in front of you, and besides, you can change up your clothing however you wish and you can still obtain certain properties! That is really good enough, in my opinion, for this game.
+
4.) The missions - So far, what I have played, this game is pretty fun. It offers up some fun missions that aren't impossible, but that aren't just a walk in the park. It seems like the faster that you complete the mission the easier it is (once you have played a while you'll know what I'm talking about).
+
5.) The Combat - There is a new and vastly improved hand-to-hand fighting system. This new system allows you to punch, kick, block and even disarm your opponent! Also, when wielding a weapon, you can blindfire around corners, and even use cover.
+
All of that just begins to cover the things that I have found better about this game than the previously released versions! Overall, this is a great game, I would suggest it to any gamer, especially fans of the GTA series!
What's great about it: Niko, weapons, missions, the map
What's not so great: The driving controlls.

I bought this cd along with a Basshunter cd hoping that I would find a couple awesome new cds... I found one, but this is unfortunately not it.
+
I was basing my whole perception of this band off of the song Don't Cry Out. I really loved that song, the chorus was so ambient and had such an amazing flow to it. Someone told me the rest of the cd was like that... it wasn't.
+
Now, not to say that a ton of people don't like this music, but I guess that I was just disappointed because it wasn't what I had expected/hoped for. Some of the songs are pretty decent, though not my cup of tea.
+
I can't really say that I would tell people to steer clear of this album, especially for as cheap as it is, but I can say that you should really begin listening to it without any real expectation and with more of an open mind.
What's great about it: Don't Cry Out, some of the actual instrumentals.
What's not so great: Just wasn't what I expected due to hearing Don't Cry Out first.

Awesome Techno Rock!

Originally I discovered Basshunter from a friend of mine. He showed me Dota, awesome song, and I was hooked!
+
The whole cd contains upbeat, happy, dance music. Great music for clubs or just parties in general. The songs are all so very similar to each other that if you like one song, you will probably like them all!
+
Good cd overall, contains some strange remixed versions of the first few songs, definitely worth 8 bucks! I would check it out if you are into happy techno, or just great dance music in general!
What's great about it: I Miss You, Angel In The Night, In Her Eyes, Love You More, Dota
What's not so great: Every song sounds exactly the same, but, it's still good!

Die Hard
on January 2, 2009
Posted by: Volearix
from Zionsville, IN
I have never been a true fan of the Die Hard series, but I do have to give this movie its' fair credit. The whole thing is based on the theory of a computer massive scale "firesale".
+
In this installment, McClane (Bruce Willis) teams up with Matt Farrell (Justin Long), a computer hacker that accidentally helps an anarchist group begin their large scale hack.
+
From the beginning of the movie, as one would come to expect from the Die Hard franchise, there is a ton of action. The plot is not initially defined, but slowly peaks it's head out into the light as the movie progresses.
+
Mcclane will have to save the world from computer terrorists this time, and as you quickly learn throughout the movie, technology is not his strong suit. I would probably say that this movie is at least worth seeing once or twice. Not too bad at all.
What's great about it: Well rounded movie with a consistant plot...
What's not so great: They kill Maggie!!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

how to hook up my pc to play files on my media player through the reciever?

go to any store that sells component to 1/8 inch or 1/32 inch (whatever your computer sound hookup uses). In other words a red/white to 1/8 inch hookup.
-
Take the red/white part and hook it into any slot of your receiver (doesn't matter if it is labeled as DVD/VCR/CD/V-AUX, they'll all work), then hook the other end into your PC. When the corosponding channel is selected on your receiver, and the music is selected on your PC, the audio should be routed through your surround sound system.
