AN overdone action flick that isn't good

This movie over the top, crazy and went everywhere that you didn't want an action flick to go. I laugh all the way through the movie, not because it was funny, but because I wasted my money to watch this. I know movies are for entertainment, but this wasn't entertainning at all.

You would think with Jet Li and Jason Statham (both were in The One), this movie would be action pack and have a clever plot, but sadly to say no. This movie was stupid. I have a problem when the trailer/preview shows all the action scenes and the movie itself doesn't hold up to the expectations.

What's really wild about this disc is the sound and video quality. The gunshots sound great (Dolby Digital 5.1) and the cheesy sight gags look good too (widescreen, 1.78:1 aspect ratio). Special features include the original trailer, production stills, and short documentaries on the film's wardrobe, props, special effects, and supporting actresses. There's also a 15-minute HBO promo that doesn't add much and gives away all the good jokes. The director's commentary is a slow, but sometimes entertaining look into Barry Sonnenfeld's psyche (dislikes Kevin Kline's whining, likes Salma Hayek's behind). The best behind-the-scenes footage, including the story of how Will Smith broke Sonnenfeld's hand, is in the DVD-ROM's "Mind Projection Theater" feature. Elsewhere on the DVD-ROM, gamers can install an interactive game, and dedicated readers can plow through essays on the history of the Western genre and of TV shows adapted into movies. The disc also includes two music videos from the soundtrack. But after watching the rest of the extras, many of which prominently feature the theme song by Will Smith, only the most dedicated Smith fans will want to hear it again.

What was that

There are so many things wrong with this movie, so lets start at plot. So this movie is a funny way in telling the discovery of the secret service, but its in the 1860s with no electricity. No electricity, which means that all those CGI machines that was in movie were not only ridiculous, but also a waste of time. Since we are talking about the 1860s, last time I checked the history books most (if not all) black men were still trying to fight off slavery and not trying to be an agents for the government. I could be wrong, though. This movie was boring from the first frame until the end. Too many different things trying to work out at an age were the U.S. was more forcused on a war than fighting off one crazy handicaped villian.

Forest Whitaker's adaptation of Terry McMillan's Waiting to Exhale comes to DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. Closed-captioned English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround, and a French soundtrack has also been recorded in Dolby Digital Surround. English and Spanish subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include the original theatrical trailer. The film looks and sounds great, although 20th Century Fox could have done more with the extras on this release.

Black Women's Liberation

Okay I like this movie but why all the men, but two, had to be @$$&*!#$. I'm a black man, and was very offended that they would honestly tell the truth about some black man, but didn't talk about how dump some women are. But all and all, I like this movie because its so funny. I mean come on, for a proud black woman go to the extreme to burn her cheating husband's stuff because he was with a white woman, is just funny. The thick woman was so ashamed of her weight that she was willing to have relations with her ex that just told her that he is swinging on another tree. Veery funning stuff
What's great about it: Having four black women with good chemistry
What's not so great: Having only two black men being faithful

John Herzfeld's made-for-cable biopic about the fight promoter Don King, Don King: Only in America, comes to DVD with a standard full-frame transfer that preserves the original broadcast aspect ratio of 1.33:1. English, Spanish, and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Stereo. Subtitles are accessible in all three of those languages as well. Supplemental materials include a pair of commentary tracks recorded by numerous people who were responsible for this award-winning film, and biographies of the cast and crew. This is a solid disc for an exceedingly good TV movie.

Ving Rhames is brilliant as Don King

'Only in America,' is the only line that Ving Rhames doesn't in this film about the man that coined that phrase, Don King. This is a movie of greatness, because you will laugh, and just maybe see Don King in another light. Okay maybe I'm pushing the 'maybe' part, but you will enjoy this movie.

Not good

You would think with Samuel L. Jackson and Julianne Moore this movie about a mother claiming that a black man carjacked her and took her kids, would be good, but sadly no. This movie is everywhere and when they finally get to the climax of the movie, it goes to talking about an abandon hospital for mental patient. Where did that come. I love Sam, but he and his wife should passed up this one

Tom Shadyac re-teams with Jim Carrey for the comedy Bruce Almighty. This DVD release of the film offers a standard full-frame image that fails to preserve the original theatrical aspect ratio. English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1, while Spanish and French soundtracks have been recorded in Dolby Digital Stereo. Spanish and French subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a making-of featurette and over a dozen deleted scenes. This is a fine release for what it is, but a widescreen edition is also available with the same extras. That version is preferable to this one.

Another Jim Carrey funny movie

There's no reason not to believe that this movie isn't funny, but the shocking thing about this flick is the fact that Morgan Freeman plays God. Mr. Freeman has to be the coolest person in Hollywood to play God and the President of the US within a five year span. This movie itself is just pure greatness

Michael Salomon's action film features numerous aquatic chases that are captured beautifully by the widescreen transfer on this DVD. The original 2.35:1 aspect ratio is preserved, keeping the flying jet skis in frame. One English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, while a second English track and a French soundtrack have been recorded in Dolby Digital Surround. Spanish subtitles are accessible, and both English soundtracks are closed-captioned. Supplemental materials are limited to a theatrical trailer. Genre enthusiasts will get a kick out of some of the chase sequences, but there is little on this disc to intrigue others.

This movie brings the old question, 'If your small town is severely flooded, would try robbed the bank?' Well in this film its answered with a big YES. This movie is great from beginning to end, and with the funny cameos from actress Betty White, this movie would surely please your interest in robbing your small town bank

The touching true story of a devoted high school principal (Morgan Freeman) who goes to extremes to ensure the education of the students at his inner-city school makes its DVD debut in this Warner Brothers Video release. Presented in standard 1.33:1 full-screen pan-and-scan only and featuring a closed-captioned English Dolby Digital soundtrack, this release offers absolutely no subtitles or extra features.

Pure greatness, Morgan Freeman plays Joe Clark so well that its no wonder why most teachers use this movie as 'How to' guilde to get kids to do right.

This two-disc Special Edition of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves offers a variety of extras left off the film's initial DVD release. The film itself is presented in a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. English soundtracks are rendered in both DTS 5.1 and Dolby Digital 5.1. English, Spanish, and French subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by Kevin Costner and Kevin Reynolds -- who would later have a serious falling out during the making of Waterworld -- and a second commentary track recorded by cast members Morgan Freeman and Christian Slater along with producers Pen Densham and John Watson. The second disc in the package offers a making-of documentary, live footage of Bryan Adams performing his mega-smash love theme from the film, the film's original score presented in Dolby Digital 5.1, a look at the various weapons used in the film, production notes, trailers, and interviews with the cast and crew. This is a first-rate release from Warner Bros.

A great Robin Hood movie

Kevin Costner is great as the lead role, but of course Morgan Freeman outshines Mr. Costner. This is a great edition of Robin Hood tales and in my eyes prbably the best one ever made into film.
