Best way to add a USB-C plug
on March 29, 2021

Sometimes those power bricks are just not working very well at places like kitchen countertops, bathrooms or maybe at your work desk - they stick out and can be easily knocked out of the outlet, they tend to block you from plugging in stuff you want... Or maybe you have little kids and not comfortable with them plugging in 120V device, but you can allow them to plug USB-C. This outlet is to the rescue! Not only you get 2 standard 125V 15A tamper resistant (it's a code requirement since 2014) but also a 2 USB-C ports with Power Delivery (PD) capability! This allows you to charge devices like phones or tablets at a high speed, much faster than included with some phones white 5W brick. Outlet features 2 USB-C ports, however pay attention at what you plug in - you only get full 30W of power if just a single port is plugged in! It's capable of either 9V at 3A (27W) or 15V at 2A (30W), there is no 20V option (so it won't charge a MacBook for example but it will charge biggest iPad no problem). If both ports are plugged in - all you get is 5V and 3A so 15W per port max, no matter if your devices support Power Delivery.
Installation is easy and is no different than any other receptacle, the only note - it's kinda thick and takes extra space in a box, so watch out for that - make sure it fits the box! It also won't work very well if you replacing a switch controlled outlet - you will either loose a switch control capability or will have to keep that switch on all the time. Overall I'm very satisfied with how outlet looks, reduces clutter and charges my iPad! Don't forget to pickup a decora wall plate, outlet does not come with one.

Amazing freedom of flight!
on March 12, 2021
Posted by: xKing
from Frisco, TX
Previously FPV drones were something enthusiasts had to build for themselves from parts, mount GoPro on and learn how to fly absolutely manually with no GPS. FPV drones are extremely agile and maneuverable and can fly super fast and perform aerobatic tricks. Until now. DJI came up with this super exciting FPV drone that makes transition to FPV flying available to anyone! If you ever flown a GPS stabilized drone before - like a Mavic - you'll know that they are easy to control, they would hover in place on their own and won't drift away. DJI FPV can do it all just like a GPS drone and it can gradually put you into FPV world where you have ultimate control.
What do we get in the box - Drone itself, 2 full sets of propellers (8 total), goggles, controller, flight battery, goggles battery, charging adapter and cables to connect it all. You'll get spare controller sticks, 2 allen wrenches and a spare head shell for the drone (to improve visibility if you want). Allow yourself at least 2 hours startup time when you just get the drone - you'll need to charge 3 batteries (flight battery, goggles battery and controller), thankfully DJI power adapter has 2 USB-A ports to charge it all at the same time. When everything is charged - you will neet to connect your phone to the goggles using the included USB-C OTG cable or just a regular USB-C to Lightning (Apple) in order to update all firmware and activate your drone.
Make sure you've got a compatible micro SD card (drone needs a fast card!) and all is ready to take it outside for the 1st flight! NOTE: while it's possible to fly it inside - I would not advise doing it. You will need a large enough room and the air flow is so strong that it will most likely blow stuff all over your floor. Anything paper in the room is pretty much guaranteed to fly around... take it outside instead!
Drone has 3 flight modes that can be selected pretty much at any phase of flight. Normal mode - made for a cinematic flyovers, top forward speed is limited to 15 m/s (~33 mph) and obstacle avoidance system (forward and downward) is active. Sport mode - this turns obstacle avoidance off and boosts you forward speed to 27 m/s (~60mph) for dynamic flying, sports mode also enables 'cruise control' - sort of an auto-throttle system that would keep your forward speed constant.
And of course a full manual mode with a crazy 87 mph top speed! Manual mode is almost equivalent to the self-built hobby FPV drone, it has to be enabled in the controls section, then you need to turn the controller over, pop up the cover and adjust 2 screw tension to remove auto-center of the left stick to give you a complete control over aircraft throttle. It's also advisable to practice flying the drone in manual mode using DJI Virtual Flight app in advance. When you feel good in the Manual mode - there is a way to kick things up a notch - you can go into controller settings and disable aircraft's attitude control which will allow you do a full 360 rolls with it, and in any time you feel uncomfortable or in trouble - you always have a life saving pause button on the controller - drone will automatically stabilize, hover, and go into the Normal mode with just a single button click. There is an ability to fine tune your controller's stick center sensitivity, max rate and expo.
Any mode also has automatic Return To Home ability by long pressing the pause button. Return to Home altitude can be customized in settings and should be set above highest obstacle in the area as your dron will default to return to home in case of a low battery or loss of communications.
Camera footage that this drone captures is pretty spectacular - 1/2.3" CMOS 12MP 4K/60 fps sensor with ISO range from 100 to 12800 guarantees you a crystal clear footage with wide dynamic balance and high low light sensitivity! Camera feed looks just amazing in the goggles - it's a complete immersion into reality from up above, like you are actually seeing the world from the drone's perspective! DJI's OcuSync 3.0 communication system works flawlessly - there are no hiccups, artefacts or delays - you see everything exactly as the drone sees it with almost no delay, I was able to fly about 4000' away in the suburbs before I've noticed any signal drop-outs, pretty sure it will be way better out of the city.
Camera is mounted on the singe axis gimbal that allows for aircraft pitch correction but it does not remove any bank or yaw from the footage. D-Cinelike and Normal color modes are supported to allow for a post color correction.
Goggles are pretty lightweight and comfortable (way lighter than let's say Oculus Quest), I'm not really a fan of the external battery. I understand that external battery enables longer use time (by swapping the battery out) but it's not very comfortable to deal with the wire all the time. Inter-pupillary distance is adjustable so anyone can fly, I was able to keep my prescription glasses while wearing DJI goggles as well. Both eyes screens have 1440x810 resolution.
Safety - what I did appreciate a lot is that drone has ADS-B receiver built in so if it senses a real aircraft nearby - you will get a warning in the goggles. If you ever crash your drone (btw - DJI has an extended care plan just in case you want extra insurance) - you can view the last 30 seconds of what drone seen in the goggles (or even the whole flight if you installed an SD card into goggles as well).
What is missing in my opinion is auto tracking functions just like in any other DJI GPS stabilized drone. FPV drone won't do any tricks like circle around an object, spiral, rocket and other effects - you'll need to fly those yourself. There is also no way to mount the phone on the controller, this is not a big deal for FPV flights, but just in case you wanted to take a break or flying alone (no Visual Observer) - you'll need to be creative on where to put the phone at. Phone shows drone camera feed, but no menu or warnings.
What I think overall - if your desire is just aerial photography - get one of GPS stabilized drones with 3 axis gimbal. This drone if mostly for the fast dynamic flying and immersive flight scenes at high speeds and bank angles. Absolutely get it if you enjoy adrenaline rush!
I would also recommend getting DJI FPV fly more kit that includes 2 extra flight batteries and a sequential charging adapter - which would allow you to just connect all 3 batteries. Another fun accessory to get is the DJI motion controller which I don't have just yet.

Powerful road warrior

We are used to having a pretty powerful portable electronic devices on us all the time - classroom, cafe, park or plane seat. This laptop is a great choice for working on the go. Powerful Intel 11th Gen Core i7 processor (Tiger Lake-U) with 4 processing cores, 8Gb on board memory and 256 Gb NVME SSD drive (made by KIOXIA) - you are ready for some serious tasks. Bright 13.4" touch capable screen with 1900x1200 top resolution is clearly visible even in a bright sunlight. Why touch you ask? This machine can easily be turned into a tabled just by folding the keyboard over. If you still prefer a "laptop" kind - backlit keyboard with a huge touchpad is at your service. Laptop surface has a very pleasant texture.
External connectivity is handled by a 802.11ax WiFi adapter (also called WiFi 6) capable with 1500Mbit/s transfers (which is faster than a gigabit Ethernet cable connection), Bluetooth, 2 Thunderbolt 4.0 ports (one on each side), micro SD card reader and 3.5" headphone jack. USB-C to USB-A port adapter is included in the box just in case you need to connect an older device. Power adapter is rated at 45W and is really tiny, it fits on the palm of your hand! Laptop is powered by 51Wh Lithium battery.
One downside is upgradeability, back cover is easy to remove (just in case you need to clean the fans out) just by unscrewing a bunch of T5 screws at the bottom, however there is hardly anything you can upgrade (see pictures).
Overall - if you need a super portable machine with some power behind it - this XPS 13 got you covered! Just make sure to verify the machine specifications as upgrade is hardly possible.

High end quality mic
on March 5, 2021
Posted by: xKing
from Frisco, TX
There are two major types of microphones used in home studios - Dynamic and condenser. Condenser microphones are very sensitive and often require a very quiet room + treatment, but they sound more "natural". Dynamic microphones are typically less sensitive but they are great with ambient noise rejection and very forgiving to the room treatment, they also output more "broadcast" quality sound people are used to. This mic is a dynamic kind.
No matter if you just starting and don't have any equipment yet or if you already been recording something - this mic got you covered. It's a dual interface device which means you can simply hook it up to USB port on your computer (6' USB-C to C and C to A cables are included) and start recording! For more advanced applications such as sound interface, mixer board or even a portable recorder - this microphone has a balanced XLR output (high quality connector, no cable wobble at all).
Build quality is outstanding! It's a full metal body with internally shock mounted capsule with permanently attached swivel yoke mount designed for 5/8"-27 thread (I would recommend Samson MBA38 for a desk mount). Microphone body has a mechanical mute button, MID range boost switch (useful for voice recording), Low-cut filter switch to remove lower frequencies (3dB at 200Hz in case recording sounds "boomy" or "muddy") and real-time monitoring 3.5mm headphones port. There are no LED indicators, however if you look deep into headphone port - you'll see a green LED glow when USB-C power is connected.
Microphone capsule is covered with a metal wind screen and optional foam screen (included in the box). Microphone frequency response is 50Hz to 20kHz at -57 dBV sensitivity (XLR), mic impedance is 250Ohm.
This microphone is an amazing first choice if you just starting up with your podcast, YouTube video production or live streaming. The only additional thing you will need is a mic stand (and make sure to get a sturdy one, this microphone weighs 2.13lb).

Great helper at the kitchen
on February 2, 2021
Posted by: xKing
from Frisco, TX
Nicely built machine with wide stable base and easily removable bowl + attachments. It comes with chopping attachment and 2 combo disks - each disk can be used as slicing or grinding (1st disk is coarse, 2nd disk is fine) depending on which side disk is mounted on top. Interlock system is easy to deal with and feed hole in the top cover is wide enough to stick 1/2 of onion thru! Compared to my previous food processor - it's safe to put food in the bowl even if the chopping attachment is not yet installed (bowl is watertight with no attachment). 2 speeds and pulse mode make pretty much any job easy (550W motor). Overall - it's a great kitchen helper that won't mind grinding up nuts or chopping onions for you. Bowl and attachments are dishwasher safe, bowl can be put into the fridge and it stays watertight even if it's removed from the motor base. One thing I wish GE thought thru is attachment storage - those cutting disks are sharp and no way to store them securely somewhere...

Massive air cleaner
on January 17, 2021
Posted by: xKing
from Frisco, TX
Wow, this cleaner is a heavy duty machine designed to filter large amounts of air. It's pretty heavy (even has wheels for moving) and designed to last. Main parts consist of: pre-filter located at the bottom of the machine that catches large particles before they have a chance to enter - air blower motor, ionization device and, of course - massive main filter which is kinda A-shaped to provide large filtering surface. Air quality sensor is located inside of the machine and could be easily removed for cleaning or service.
Top of the machine consists of a color screen and a few control buttons.
Most of the time this fancy designed box (kinda reminds us of Daleks from Dr Who movie) will stay quiet and happily shine it 2 blue LEDs indicating that air quality in the room is great, however if it detects some sort of the pollution (like if you start cooking) - air cleaner will come to life. Top LED air quality indicators will change color (blue is all great, then they go green yellow and red depending on the pollution severity) and blower motor will ramp up. Air outlets are designed in a way that they distribute air evenly around the machine pushing a ton of air without concentrating the flow in one spot and blowing stuff around the room. It takes this air cleaner about 20 to 30 minutes to fiter the 600 sq ft room (12' ceiling) to it's satisfaction (when LEDs turn green or blue) and quiet down.
Mobile app control is a real useful feature of the machine, not only you can control it remotely and look at the air quality indicators (particulate matter pollutants, VOCs, temperature, humidity) but you can also set a schedule for the machine to follow - for example activate night mode from 11pm to 6am and Auto mode otherwise, adjust LED brightness, look at the filter health, etc.
Night mode is very quiet and it also turns the very bright LEDs off, I have no problem sleeping right next to this air cleaner. When the Auto mode kicks in - front LEDs go bright again and pretty much light up the whole room (it can almost double as an alarm clock!).
Overall - it's a great choice if you care for your air quality. Plenty of controls and fast filtering action make it a great choice, especially as we spend a ton more time at home these days.
Some things I would like to see added - better air quality indicators like CO, NO2, Ozone levels?
Filter replacement - main filter is about $100 but needs to be replaced about once a year. Pre-filter is cleanable - just vacuum it weekly.

Center of attention

Bowers and Wilikins is one of the oldest UK speaker companies out there (since 1966, now owned by Sound United) so they do have a lot of experience. Their speakers are known for a their true unbiased sound, excellent characteristics and minimalistic design.
600 Series Anniversary Edition center is not an exception (being a companion for 600 Series towers)! Built in a compact 19x10x6 enclosure is packs a punch! 2 channel nested M-T-M design (1" aluminium twitter and two 5" Continuum cone mid range/bass drivers) with an upgraded crossover - it does sound great!
High frequency is extremely clear and true to the record, mid range is loud and crisp! As central channel job is mostly to reproduce dialogs in movies - high frequency performance just hits the spot. (I did my tests using a complete 7.2.2 Atmos setup). Bass is not that important for the center channel as it should be handled by subwoofers anyway.
Speaker connections - there are 4 terminals on the back (for bi-amping? I personally never seen bi-amped center) that allow for either spade connectors or banana plugs (just remove the plastic cap before inserting banana connector). Measurements using Room EQ Wizard did confirm speaker performance in 72Hz-22kHz range (web site claim up to 28kHz but I can't measure nor possibly hear this :)).
Recommended amplifier power - up to 120W at 8 Ohms.
Overall - it's a solid performing center in it's range, outstanding clarity of highs makes it perfect for the home theater setup if you using 600 Series S2 towers as your main channels. I would prefer 6" mid range drivers though to visually match the towers.

High frequency is extremely clear and true to the record, mid range is loud and crisp, bass is remarkably powerful!
I did my tests using 2 setups - music room, as a pure 2 channel setup + 12" 500W subwoofer and my home theater room - a complete 7.2.2 Atmos setup. B&W 600 S2 shined in both, especially in a high and mid range - sound clarity was just outstanding.
You will need a subwoofer if you are using these in a home theater setup. Overall - it's a solid performing tower in it's range, outstanding clarity of highs and sufficient bass makes it a great choice for a 2 channel music or home theater application.

One less chore to do!
on November 9, 2020
Posted by: xKing
from Frisco, TX
No one likes chores and there are many devices that help us skip doing stuff we don't like and enjoy what we do. This little robot is one of those magical devices! While robot vacuums are pretty common - robotic mops are not for some reason, so I was really excited to finally get one!
Device itself is pretty small and resembles a real big brush with 2 spinning disks, in fact you can use this robot as a manual brush and clean spots that need special attention manually (there is a special mode for that that is activated by holding a power button).
There are 4 cleaning pads included - 2 are very soft and 2 are a little more rigid, but still absolutely fine to be used on hardwood floors. Cleaning fluid (manual recommends just water but I had success with Bona cleaner) is added into cleaning brushes - there is a special cavity in the base part of a cleaning disk where fluid is added. Both disks need to be filled. After adding fluid and picking correct cleaning pads - just set robot in the room you want cleaned and press power button (or use the included IR remote control) - robot will navigate thru the room by spinning the cleaning disks and "floating" in the direction it wants to go.
It's pretty quiet and does not disturb me at all even if I'm in the same room. Wait about 45 minutes and viola - room is mopped!
Couple things that I'm not crazy about. First of all - charging. Unlike robot vacuums - this robotic mop won't just come home and recharge. It needs to be picked up, placed on it's "base" and then you have to plug the charging cord in.
Cleaning fluid - you have to make sure robot has fluid available, there is no indication of the fluid level, you can only judge by the wetness of the floor behind the robot. It takes about 45-50 minutes to run out of cleaning fluid (water).
Robot won't return to the base (there is not really a base, it's more like a plastic storage tray) - it just stops after cleaning time runs out. So you kinda have to be home and almost actively supervise the process time to time. And if you have carpet in adjacent room - make sure it does not go there, I've found it can go over carpet no problem!
Maximum obstacle it can go over is about 3/8", it won't go over anything taller.
As a conclusion - solid 4 stars, it's a good helper, just not completely "independent". And no - there is no phone app to control it, just an IR remote...

MX Anywhere 3 is a great travel companion for anyone who needs a mouse that holds charge for several days, extremely precise on different surfaces and not cluttered with a ton of buttons. Scrolling wheel has an amazing feature - free wheeling. Just spin it harder and it will turn into "free spin" making scrolling thru a long document a breeze. There is also a top button next to the wheel to change to the "free spin" and back.
What makes this mouse special? Logitech Options software! It comes with a lot of pre-defined settings that turn 2 side buttons of the mouse from a regular back/forward into custom buttons specifically for the active application. For example in Zoom - side buttons can act like Mute and Start/Stop video, just make sure Zoom is a currently selected application.
Mouse is very portable, can be connected to any device with a USB-A port via included Unifying receiver (common for Logitech products) or it can connect via the Bluetooth. I had no issues connecting it to iMac using the Bluetooth connection.

Connect favorite peripherals to this Acer Aspire laptop. Four USB ports let you connect accessories, transfer files or charge a cellphone while you work, and HDMI outputs make dual-screen functionality possible. Access nearby wireless networks with this Acer Aspire laptop and stream videos or upload your own images captured with the built-in HD webcam.

Great travel companion
By xKing from Frisco, TX
This laptop would be a great travel companion. Screen can be folded all the way to the back making this laptop a big tablet, Windows recognizes it as a "tablet mode" and adjusts the interface so that's easy to use that way. Tablet mode is a great idea if your space is limited such as a car or an airplane. That is if you don't mind wiping your fingerprints off the screen later.
Overall construction is very nice and solid, aluminum top cover and plastic bottom make it easy to hold and it does not get real hot to the touch while working. Bottom is fairly easy to take off (philips screwdriver and plastic prying tools needed) allowing access to the single memory slot and a hard drive (watch for hard drive - it will fall off when bottom cover is off). Laptop has a good selection of ports (including HDMI, 2x USB 3 and a USB-C!) making it easy to connect to the accessories you need. Hardware volume control paddle is located on the right side of the laptop almost next to the power switch - I actually send laptop to sleep couple of times while trying to adjust the speaker volume, so be careful.
Screen resolution is a full 1920x1080 HD but the space under the screen (where the Acer logo is) feels unused - I wish Acer did extend the screen to the bottom a bit more. From the beginning - my laptop had a very noticeable green tint to the screen which I had to correct using the Windows color calibration tool - no issues after that.
Keyboard and the touchpad are functional and easy to use, keyboard is backlit (either on or off, no brightness adjustment).
Battery - I was able to use laptop for 4 full hours watching videos, surfing web and working on the documents before battery fully drained, it took it 3 hours to charge back to 100%. Included 45W power adapter is surprisingly small and easy to pack, supports any voltage from 100 to 240 so overseas travel is not a problem!
Performance - I did not notice any delays while working with the big office documents, 8 Gb RAM (upgradeable to 12Gb) and i5 CPU have more than enough for any office tasks, however I would recommend upgrading to SSD if you require a lot of disk activity.
Overall - great laptop for those who work on the go and need a good selection of ports at the workplace, strong performer!

It's really comes down to your personal preference. HP you've mentioned has a smaller 13.3" screen, but a solid state drive will perform better. Acer has a bigger screen but a slower mechanical hard drive.

Physically - any 2.5" SSD drive will fit. It really depends on your budget and how much storage would you like to have. I personally use Crucial drives.

Make driving routines more enjoyable with this OverDryve car system. Its voice assistant capabilities let you read and send text messages by command and also play music in your car without taking your hands off the wheel. The built-in dash cam of this OverDryve car system lets you record trips and capture every moment on the road.

Finally an Android tabled designed for your car!
By xKing from Frisco, TX
This tablet would be a real good option for those who want just an Android tablet in the car, it mounts hassle free with the included mount. I used the "bean bag" as a base and suction cup attached to the bean bag.
Tablet has a magnetic attachment at the back that takes care of the electrical connections as well so all you need to do is to place the tablet on the mount and that's it! No wires to plug in!
Physically it's a very well made device with rubberized back which makes it secure in hand, screen is bright and I had no problem looking at it with my polarized sunglasses on.
It has micro USB port for charging / data transfer, micro SD card slot, mini HDMI port and a 3.5mm sound output jack.
Mount has a full size USB port, 3.5mm sound output jack that you can connect to your car's AUX input and a power port, that connects to the standard 12V DC or 24V DC cigarrete lighter outlet. Optionally - you can screw in an included FM transmitter antenna to the mount, so it will output sound to your car's FM receiver.
Hardware volume control, power switch and a home button are on top of the tablet, buttons are easy to operate while the car is moving.
Unfortunately this tablet does not have a built in modem so if you would like to connect it to the Internet while on the road - you will need to have some kind of WiFi in your car. This kinda defeats the main product slogan of making any car a connected one, you will still need to provide your own connection. I've used a mobile WiFi hotspot for my test.
Included apps:
Navigation - I liked that one, it comes with the lifetime Map update, directions are clear and easy to follow, speed limit is displayed for major roads and you could optionally setup a notification for when you are over the speed limit for X number of MPH. No school zone alerts though.
Online functions include gas prices (by GasBuddy), traffic and weather - all of these require tablet to have an active internet connection. Weather could be useful when planning your route while pulling a trailer for example, so you could avoid windy roads. Mount does have a very good GPS receiver built in so when tablet is on the dash - you will be getting a strong GPS coverage, however if you take the tablet off the dash - it will turn into "Waiting for GPS signal" mode without a clear sky view.
Dash Camera - well, it requires you to mount your tablet so it's back camera is acting like a dash cam but that means you have to position tablet vertically, aim camera on the road and make sure nothing is in front of it. I've tried using it and while picture quality is good - frame rate is not, it's more like 15 FPS which makes passing cars look blurry. You would also need to start the Dash Cam recording every time you start your car since it would automatically stop recording every time you turn your car off (and tablet looses the external power). During my tests I've found that included mount is pretty shaky and it makes a camera recording pretty shaky too. There is an option to record sound, but no way to put current date/time, speed, GPS coordinates on the record.
Collision waring - unfortunately it was showing "calibration" and was never able to do anything, I suspect it may be due to the position of the front facing camera in my car. In addition to that - you can't launch the collision warning app AND a dash cam app at the same time - they would complain that camera device is used by the other application.
Backup Camera - it requires you to purchase an optional backup camera kit from Rand McNally, I did not have the kit for this test.
Tire Pressure and Temperature monitoring - again - that's an optional accessory (4 sensors and a receiver module) that is sold separately.
I see this one being very useful for the trailers, so you always know your trailer tires are ok.
Car Diagnostics - that is really a DashCommand app that is available for the purchase and requires an optional OBD II reader accessory which is sold separately.
Other pre installed apps include Rand McNally app store, Road Atlas and trip planner.
Besides pre-installed apps - tablet comes with the choice of 3 external app stores you can install: Amazon App Store, APKPure and Aptiode. Google Play Store is not available by default but you can put it on manually. After that - you are free to download anything you like, about 18Gb of onboard memory is available.
Overall - it's a great hardware with a lot of options, hassle free mount and connection to the car, but included software needs some work.

Well, it did install, but you are correct - Google Services App is crashing. I suspect it needs a little bit more that that, probably a GAPPS package, just need to find a way to load it. I will post here if I will be successful.

Great for beginners, easy and plenty of features!
By xKing from Frisco, TX
This is a great receiver if you just getting into the home theater, plenty of features, 6 HDCP 2.2 compliant HDMI inputs, 7 on-board amplifiers make it a great choice!
Setup is extremely easy and detailed wiring instructions are available in the manual as well as on-screen guide, you could get it all setup in less than 30 minutes.
There are the biggest advantages:
1) Great streaming capabilities - receiver supports Apple AirPlay, Google Chromecast Audio (it could be also controlled with Google Assistant) and Spotify (premium Spotify subscription is required). AirPlay support includes synchronous playback in multiple rooms.
2) Receiver supports all existing High Definition Audio formats - DSD, DTS-MA, Dolby ATMOS, DTS:X
3) Very easy automatic speaker setup and configuration.
4) 2 zones are supported, this receiver can power total of 7 speakers at the same time, so if you enable zone 2 - your 7.1 or 5.1.2 speaker configuration would become 5.1
5) great networking options - Ethernet or WiFi connections supported
6) Bluetooth could work in transmitter mode! This means that you can stream music from your receiver to the bluetooth speaker or headphones!
Few negative points:
1) First and the biggest one - this receiver is not as powerful as many would like. First thing I do when I consider a new receiver - I flip it around and look at the power supply rating, this receiver states 240W. Let's assume 30W of power is needed for receiver itself and pre-amp, which leaves just 30W of power available per channel if all channels are driven. That is not enough if you have big tower speakers, however if you only using bookshelf speakers in the small room - it could work for you. User manual does not list power rating for 8Ohm speakers, only figure you see is for 6Ohm 2 channels driven at 0.09% THD and receiver would supply 100W per channel. But where are the figures for 8Ohm? This is not unique to Sony, most of the receiver manufacturers tend to over inflate power ratings. Ideally I would like to see power with 0.09% THD all channels driven into 8Ohm.
2) 4Ohm speakers won't work with this model
3) If you have a turntable - you will need to use it's own phono pre-amp or external phono pre-amp, this receiver does NOT have an internal PHONO pre-amp.
4) Manual EQ settings are almost non-existent - you get 2 sliders: Bass and Treble, no actual frequency bands. No EQ settings for the subwoofer channel at all.
5) Receiver is a little sluggish to react to it's own remote, there is a noticeable delay between button press and reaction.
6) No pre-amp outputs for the main channels, only for zone 2 and subwoofer
7) Included remote is fairly simple and central arrow keys seem to rattle.
Overall: this Receiver would work great if you use it with small bookshelf speakers and you like things to get setup automatically for you. However advanced users may want to look at the different model.

Sorry about the confusion, what I meant to say - the receiver is great if you just getting into Home Theater, but it lacks advanced features. Talking about my friends - I would recommend them a different model because I would be able to help them further with the system configuration, therefore advanced model would work better.

Area mode and multi-floor mapping give you complete control over cleaning areas, and built-in sensors detect flooring types to ensure efficient performance on hard floors and carpets. This ECOVACS DEEBOT OZMO robot vacuum automatically returns to its charging dock for effortless operation.

I have two floors, Can I buy a second charging station for bringing it upstairs so I don't have to also bring the charging station up and down? will it work with two different charging stations?

it has an ability to select different maps (for different levels) so I would say yes!

The only purifying fan to clean a whole room properly*. We design our purifying fans to go beyond test chamber conditions and focus on real home conditions – this is more than just having an efficient filter.*Dyson engineers and research concluded that to clean an entire room properly, you need to sense pollution events automatically; capture ultrafine pollutants; and project cleaner air around the room using Air Multiplier technology. Only the Dyson purifying fan is designed and tested to do all of this.**Dyson technology helps create a cleaner, healthier home - Our vacuums and purifiers are scientifically proven to capture particles as small as allergens and bacteria.

How often do you need to replace filters

Machine has indicators of filter life, mine still show 100% (separate indicator for fiberglass and carbon filters). I guess it really depends how often it runs and how much contaminants it removed.

Ask Alexa to turn on the lights and music with this ecobee Switch+ smart switch. Its built-in speaker lets you access Amazon Alexa with voice commands, and it automatically turns off a light bulb at sunrise or when no one’s in the room. Control this ecobee Switch+ smart switch remotely from your iOS or Android device.

Do you need to have certain ights in your home for this switch to be compatible? For example, Phillips Hue LED lights or will it work with a regular floodlight or GE incandescent bulb? Lastly- How many lights can one switch control?

This switch can control up to 600W incandescent or 150W LED/CFG of regular lights wired to the switch directly. You can also use Alexa integrated in this switch to control any number of other smart lights that are Alexa compatible (Hue, LiFX, etc)

Nest Protect reliably detects and alerts you to the presence of smoke or carbon monoxide in your home. The alarm speaks to you in a calm, clear, human voice, telling you the location of the danger. It also provides smartphone alerts and battery status updates to help protect your home. This hardwired version is suitable for homes with existing hardwired smoke or CO detectors.

Will it connect to a Samsung Smart Hub, plus possibly the Samsung ADT Security system? I had the orginal Lowes IRIS Security System, but now considering getting a Samsung Smart Hub since it does work with my RING Video Doorbell.

If samsung hub works with nest cameras - yes, Nest Hello would show up as a regular Nest Camera.

Nest Doorbell (Wired) lets you know who’s there, so you never miss a thing. It replaces your existing wired doorbell and delivers HD video and bright, crisp images, even at night. It’s designed to show you everything at your doorstep — people head to toe or packages on the ground. And with 24/7 streaming, you can check in anytime. Or go back and look at a 3-hour snapshot history to see what happened.*

Does this have simultaneous 2-way audio, or do you have to press a button to talk? I have the August doorbell and you have to push to talk and it works terribly.

Yes, simultaneous 2 way audio, no buttons to hold
