In a nutshell, Demon's Souls is one of the hardest, most frustrating, most aggravating, most unforgiving, yet....most rewarding games of all time.
Does this game make you wanna pull your hair out at times? Yes! Don't be surprised if you're bald by the end of the game.
Does this game make you wanna throw your DualShock 3 controller out the window? Yes! Don't be surprised when you find yourself purchasing more controllers just for this game.
Does this game offer hours of fun? Yes! This game is very challenging.
The hardest part of the game is at the beginning when you first start playing. You're new, you don't know exactly how the fighting mechanics work, you don't know the enemies' tendencies and movements, your weapons, shields, and yourself have poor stats (low Soul Level), and you have no miracles or magic.
The fighting mechanics is very in-depth. You can dual-wield weapons, shields, magic, etc. The better the armor, the heavier you become causing you to run slower. There are a lot of things to take into consideration when choosing what to equip and when to equip them.
This is where the game is unforgiving ---
I'm more of a defensive player who likes to conserve items a lot. It took me a little over 4 hours and maybe around 20 deaths to get past the first level.
You can't upgrade your stats and go to other levels until you beat the first demon. You can't learn new miracles and magic until you find certain people in different levels and help them.
There is NO PAUSING in the game. If you're in the middle of a sword fight or caught in the middle of a bunch of enemies, you better finish the fight and hope that you can hold from going to the bathroom before you put down the controller.
When you die, you have to start ALL THE WAY BACK AT THE BEGINNING OF THE LEVEL or wherever you originally started after teleporting from the Nexus (hub). Also, you lose ALL the souls that you achieved. The only way to get them back is by getting back to the spot where you died and picking them back up. If you die again, they are gone for good.
For example, let's say it takes you about 30 minutes to get to this one part of a certain level. You have 1000 souls, and you get killed (some enemies can kill you with one blow). You start all the way back from the beginning. Now you have to go back to that point without dying. If you make it, you get your 1000 souls back plus the souls that you earned along the way. If you die before getting back those 1000 souls, you can't get them back. The only souls that you can get back are the last ones that you dropped.
Each enemy has a different amount of souls that they can offer you. The souls aren't necessarily their souls. They're more like a currency. For example, the first enemies you will encounter in the first level offer about 6-8 souls. The number of souls given by each defeated enemy will vary depending on their difficulty, which level you're playing, and the current World Tendency (*see note on World Tendency*). Some enemies can give hundreds, thousands, and even tens of thousands of souls.
The souls that you earn are saved for purchasing items, weapon upgrades/repairs, stats upgrades, learning miracles and spells, etc.
***Do NOT use demons' souls (boss souls) for increasing your regular earned souls. Save them for miracles, magic, and weapon upgrades. I made the mistake on using a demon's soul and now I can't get a certain magic power until my next playthrough because I no longer have that demon's soul.***
This game is either a lot harder or somewhat easier if you're signed into the PlayStation Network. When you're online, other players can either invade your world (black phantoms) or aid you in your journey (white phantoms). And of course, you can be a black phantom or a white phantom, as well. I haven't played online, so I'm not going to get specific about online gameplay.
*World Tendency* --- Enemies are harder (therefore, offer more souls) the darker the world tendency and are easier (offer less souls) in lighter world tendencies. The tendency can be affected by killing non-playable characters (NPC's) and by the holiday depending on the developers' calendar (e.g. during Valentine's week, it was pure white world tendency for one half of the week and pure black world tendency for the other half. Black phantoms can also affect the world tendency.
Notes:
1) Some levels don't take as long as others to get to the demon.
2) Play smart. Don't think of this as a hack-and-slash-and-spam game. Take into consideration your stamina and magic bar.
3) I wouldn't recommend this game to those who have high blood pressure.
4) Have some patience. This game wasn't meant to be beaten in a week or two...or three. Expect around 80+ hours of gameplay.
5) Keep your fingers away from the attack buttons when you're near NPC's in the Nexus. If you accidentally kill the only person that can increase your stats, you're just asking for more trouble. How would you be able to upgrade?
6) Have some sort of strategy for each level according to the different enemies and how difficult they are. Weapons, shields, and magic are either more effective or less effective depending on the type of enemy.
7) Have fun! = ]

A Fun & Unique FPS

I bought this game because I was curious to see what the Resistance franchise was all about. I found out that it's pretty darn impressive, at least for this first title.
This game is just a whole lot of fun to play. I played through the campaign mode with my younger brother, and we enjoyed it. There's replay value because new weapons are unlocked in the next play-through.
I have not played the multiplayer part, but I've read other reviews saying that there are still a lot of people playing this game online even though it's been out for about four years.
The controls may seem a little iffy if you're used to CoD, but you can customize each button instead of having to stick with pre-set button layouts only, which is great. The game does have several pre-set button layouts, but if none of them seem to work for you, just create your own.
The campaign is pretty long. The developers were very creative with how you progress through the main story, the enemies, and the weapons and grenades - they're a lot of fun to play with.
Overall, this is a great game. It's a lot of fun when you play it with a friend.
What's great about it: price, fun, co-op

Best DBZ Game, Yet!
on June 26, 2010
Posted by: FLYPino
from The ATL
DB Raging Blast, in my opinion, is one of the best DBZ games to ever be released. There is a great single-player campaign that pretty much covers all of the fights that took place in the seasons plus all new "What If" fights. The graphics are top-notch and a lot of detail has been put into the characters and the environments. There is also a "Dojo" mode that teaches you all the fighting moves.
This game is not a button masher like the other recent DBZ games. Each character has a different way of stringing combos together. The fighting mechanics and movements are very fluid. However, there is NO auto-lock-on which does get pretty frustrating. You could be charging straight at your opponent, and he just does a simple side-step - all of sudden, you charge right past him, you try to stop, and your back is turned to your opponent. The game does a good job to not let that happen so often.
There aren't as many characters as in Budokai Tenkaichi 3, but all of the major characters are available.
This game will greatly test your reflexes. It's a lot of fun whether you're playing alone against the computer but even more fun with a friend.
What's great about it: fluid fighting mechanics, graphics
What's not so great: no lock-on system, lack of characters compared to Budokai Tenkaichi 3

A(n) FPS Sci-Fi Thriller...Somewhat
on June 6, 2010
Posted by: FLYPino
from The ATL
Killzone 2, in my opinion, deserves no less than four stars, but does not deserve a perfect five-star rating.
The graphics are incredible and the gameplay, especially the multiplayer, is amazing. The multiplayer version of this game has no comparison. There's always something "added" as you progress through the ranks. The weapons are great and have a good "feel" to them. Also, the AI is a lot smarter than other FPS AI's. With their "armor," it takes more than two bullets to take them down unlike the CoD series (unless it's a headshot, of course).
However, the pace is a little slower than the CoD series, as well. The controls seem a little clunky with the zoom option being enabled by pressing R3, especially when you have to use the right analog stick to aim at the same time. To have the controls similar to the CoD series, use the "Alternate 2" configuration with the "zoom hold" option shaded in.
The single-player story is generic. If you've played/are decent at FPS, then I recommend playing this game at the highest difficulty available (third) when you first play the game. I beat the game in six hours on the second difficulty (with the fourth being the most difficult but only unlocked after beating the game) with several continues. The game can easily be beaten in a little over five hours on the second difficulty without any continues.
Do I recommend this game? Yes, but more so for the multiplayer because the single-player campaign gets old pretty quick...and pretty fast.
What's great about it: price, graphics, physics, challenge, multiplayer puts this game over the top
What's not so great: EXTREMELY SHORT single-player campaign

LittleBigCreativity

Play.Create.Share. ...Fun.
LittleBigPlanet offers more than you'd ever expect it to. There's an endless amount of creativity, especially when you can create your own levels and share it with the rest of the world. The rest of the world can also share their levels with you.
Your controlled character is Sackboy, whose apparel you can also customize. This includes putting stickers on your character. This Game of the Year edition comes with extra levels and items, as well as more costumes that would ordinarily need to be purchased separately for the original edition.
The controls take some time to get used to, but they work well the way they're set. Level design will be tremendously overwhelming at first, but play around with the items you've unlocked, and level designing can become second nature (after you've played around for a LONG time).
Playing this game is definitely more fun with friends, because there are some parts of some levels that require more than one person. This includes the main story mode.
It would be a lot more beneficial to see a video review of how the game works, because only so much can be put into words.
That being said, LittleBigPlanet deserves its credit. Play, create, share, and have fun with family, friends, and the online community.
What's great about it: in-depth (endless) creativity, realistic physics capabilities, online sharing, fun with friends
What's not so great: it would be too long of a review to describe how creative you can get with this game =P
I would recommend this to a friend!

If you like FPS that greatly challenge your reflexes while scurrying through an unknown city underwater with upgradeable futuristic (with respect to the 1960's) weapons while fighting its inhabitants that have been "mutated" to your disadvantage...
...and if you like taking the Little Sisters from their Big Daddies...
This is the game for you!
P.S. Make sure that your character is yielding a weapon BEFORE you turn around or you will be SHOCKED! ; ]
As of now, due to school, I have not finished the game. I think I am about halfway, but I have enjoyed every single minute of it from the time I started playing...AFTER the 8-10-minute initial download time.
What's great about it: creativity, physics, gameplay, graphics, storyline, surround sound, A.I.
What's not so great: initial downloading time (get a snack or watch TV when first loading the game), hacking gets tedious, framerate at times

World Tendency can also be affected by killing a boss demon - there is an increase by one (+1). Dying in body form (except when in the Nexus) decreases world tendencies by one (-1), but dying in soul form does not affect world tendency. +3 is pure white world tendency, while -4 is pure black world tendency.
There is also character tendency.

Another Great Installment to the CoD Franchise
By FLYPino from The ATL
Call of Duty: World at War is a great FPS, but it's not perfect. This game deserves a rating anywhere between 4.0 and 4.5 stars.
Is this the best WWII FPS game currently out on the market? Sure.
Is this the best CoD game of the series? Maybe 2nd or 3rd best (with respect to this game as being the latest installment – Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare being 1st and Call of Duty 2 being either 2nd or 3rd).
What makes this game great are its gameplay, graphics, intensity, co-op, and re-playability. There are plenty of details in the environments, making this game fun to play and fun to watch at the same time. The presentation is outstanding, and the game sounds amazing in surround sound. Weapon sounds, accuracies, and details are spot on.
The campaign has you playing from the points of view of the Americans and the Russians, but you probably won't care too much for the storyline. And every time you hear Kiefer Sutherland as Corporal Roebuck issue commands at your side, you won't be able to help but picture Jack Bauer in place of Corporal Roebuck.
Even though the missions are enjoyable and very well done, there is not as much variety compared to the previous installment. After about the fourth or fifth mission, the missions will seem overly repetitive. The two missions that stand out in front of the others are the sniper and tank missions. Otherwise, every other mission consists of “shooting the enemies as they pop out of cover, pushing forward, getting over the hill, ducking and covering, and trying to reach several checkpoints.” Enemies still continue to spawn if you don’t push forward, and some (very few) are out of place – they won’t shoot you, your comrades won’t shoot them, and they just stand there or do some idiotic retreat, making them the opposite of artificial “intelligence.”
However, all of this is made up for with the addicting multiplayer and unlockable “Na*i Zombies” game modes. The multiplayer is fun as with any FPS multiplayer game. Perks are automatically set for each weapon class and are not customizable. With "N*zi Zombies," you can play offline by yourself, with one other person on the same console, with two consoles and two players for each console (LAN party), or online with up to four other players. Teamwork is the key to success. The gameplay for "N. Zombies" is to simply defend yourself and your teammates as hordes of the undead break through windows and walls. Weapon upgrades and power-ups are practically necessary as the number of zombies, number of bullets needed to kill each zombie, and zombie invasion speed increases each level.
Overall, CoD: WaW has been another great addition to the franchise. It’s definitely worth giving a try.
