This is not a laptop. It’s so much more. Meet Combo Touch, the keyboard case with trackpad that enables new levels of versatility with iPad Pro. Navigate and work in apps like never before with a new click-anywhere trackpad — our largest ever* — that gives you more space and allows for Multi-Touch trackpad gestures. SMART CONNECTOR technology helps to deliver an incredibly responsive trackpad experience and also makes powering and pairing the keyboard instant. Type comfortably for hours with laptop-like backlit keys that automatically adjust to your environment. You can always see what you're typing thanks to 16 levels of brightness. Enjoy convenient access to volume controls and more with a full row of iPadOS shortcut keys. The iPad Pro meets its aesthetic match with a slim, sleek design — the thinnest keyboard case we've ever designed with a trackpad.* The elegant woven outer fabric feels as great as it looks and the case is molded to fit your iPad Pro, protecting the front, back, and corners from scrapes and bumps. Your iPad Pro is held securely in place so you can have peace of mind that it won’t slip out and focus on what matters most — getting things done. *Compared to Logitech keyboard cases with trackpad released in 2020.

Is this a magic keyboard killer?
on May 29, 2021

from Sacramento, CA
Seriously, this might end up being a magic keyboard killer, specially looking at the price. This is literally $100 cheaper and can do almost everything that Apple's keyboard does. Honestly, I like it more. I had ordered my iPad pro 11" and this keyboard almost 2 weeks apart but the keyboard arrived earlier than the iPad. I also have an iPad Air (4th Gen) which uses the same accessories as iPad pro 11". So I thought of giving it a try (Pics attached). Everything worked perfectly, except the Touch ID of course. iPad Pro uses facial recognition, so you don't need to rest your finger on the power button to unlock unlike iPad Air. The power button is covered by the cover and as a result, I wasn't able to unlock my iPad via touch id. I had to use the passcode to do that which is not a problem. The real issue is that the iPad fits so tight inside the cover that the power button stays pressed all the time because of it which keeps Siri activated and is really annoying. I had to bring that portion of iPad out just keep power button disengaged. But THIS IS NOT Logitech's fault as the keyboard is specifically designed for iPad Pro 11", not iPad Air. So no complains here. I am yet to receive my iPad Pro which is supposed to arrive sometime next week. Now I know both iPads are exactly same size physically, so I really hope I don't have this issue with my iPad Pro. Although after reading other reviews, I don't see anyone else having this problem. So, it should be alright I guess. This case connects with the Smart Connector. That means no pairing, nearly instant connection, and it charges through the connection, so you never have to charge the case. As soon as you attach your iPad with the keyboard, it asks to download the app. Once you download it, you are good to go.
Pros:
- Solid build quality. Feels very sturdy in hand, and offers a good amount of protection for your iPad
- The keyboard is detachable (shown in attached pictures)
- The keyboard folds completely behind the screen (and turns off) allowing you to use the iPad as a tablet. I just love this feature. If you don't want to detach the keyboard, simply fold it behind the iPad and it will detect it and automatically turn itself off. How cools is that?
- $100 cheaper than Apple's Magic Keyboard, might even go more down during shopping season.
- Row of function keys present on this keyboard
- Edge to edge protection which the Magic Keyboard lacks
- Trackpad is surprisingly good, better than a lot of laptops. Using multi finger gestures feels great and natural
- Same drivers and gestures for the trackpad as the Magic Keyboard
- Uses the same Smart Connector that Apple uses, so no need to charge or sync the keyboard
Cons:
- Not as sleek as the Magic Keyboard aesthetically. The Folio more than doubles the weight of the iPad - and it is noticeable!
- No extra USB-C charging port like the Magic Keyboard
- The keyboard only clicks when the bottom half is depressed - like a Windows PC trackpad. The Apple Magic Keyboard Trackpad has the advantage here
Previous version of this keyboard used to have a flap that wrapped around the Apple pencil, providing extra protection. But for some reason, it has been removed from this version. I don't own an Apple pencil, so this is not a problem for me but it may be for people who do. Only other option that I would have loved in this keyboard is more color offerings. It only comes in Oxford Gray color. Both of my iPads are Space Gray which is darker than Oxford Gray. But since the entire iPad sits inside the keyboard case, you don't see the difference. But there could be color option in future. That's just my personal preference, nothing to take away from this awesome piece of gadget. If you're the type of person who will rarely remove the iPad from the case then this is great since you can fold the keyboard all the way back and still use the iPad as a tablet, and can fold it back and keep it as a media consumption device. This is a very solid offering and the typing experience is definitely on par with the magic keyboard. The addition of function keys and extra protection make this a no-brainer for a lot of people.

Good bang for the buck
on May 22, 2021
Posted by: MacUser
from Sacramento, CA
OVERVIEW: The Brother MFC-J1250W wireless printer gives you good bang for the buck. Brother is not known for producing the most refined printers out there, but they do make a great workhorse and have some of the cheapest proprietary ink on the market. I got this printer to replace my old Brother all-in-one (which got damaged because of my mistake) and, I have to say, Brother has come a long way since 2014 (the last time I bought my other Brother printer). Pretty much everything on this printer was easier from get-go from set up to print quality, everything has improved vastly. What you get here is a feature-filled, serviceable printer that is great for families or a home office.
WHAT DO YOU GET: The printer comes prepackaged with 4 high capacity ink cartridges. The printer itself was packaged simply in the usual large box. It was easy to extract and basically all you have to do is plug it in. I didn't measure the length of the cord, but it was pretty long enough to reach an outlet in my set up and average length for the printer. This is one of the most stylish printers that I've ever owned. It's basically a white box with a tilting front panel with the big enough touch screen and buttons. The footprint is small enough to be compact and large enough to take or scan A4 paper.
SET UP: Installing the ink was a breeze. Just remove the plastic protector from the cartridge and slip into the appropriate slot. The ink is front loaded in the right side panel, so you don't have to open the printer--like we did in the bad old days--to pop in the new cartridges. Easy peasy. This printer uses Brother's standard paper tray. I'm not really enamored of it. It goes in and out of the slot well enough. You then need to connect to your home network (or connecting directly to your printer with a USB cable). This was described in the quick start guide and also easy using the now-larger touch screen. You then have to install the drivers on your computer. For iOS and Android, you simply download the Brother Mobile Connect app.
PRINTING TEXT: Print quality for text has been great. The text appears to be sharp and very easy to read. A laser jet might have sharper quality, but it's hard to notice. Good enough for school or work applications. The advantage of a laser jet would be two fold: better print quality and print speeds faster than 16 ppm (black & white) & 9 ppm (color). But 12 ppm for an inkjet, is spot on. No complaints here.
SCANNING: Scanning is easy enough to do on a PC or Mac using the Brother software. The scanner is not the sharpest of scanners but is fine for text documents. If you want to archive photos, it will work, but you will want to use a more precision scanner if you want full photo-quality. This is basically a 2400 x 1200 dpi optical scanner at the max, but whatever the dpi, if the end resolution isn't so good it really doesn't matter what the dpi is. It's kind of like having a gazillion pixel camera with a not-so-good lens. You'll have lots of pixels but the picture will still be blurry.
PAPER HANDLING: I did not try to put 150 sheets in the automatic paper feeder but for 40-50 sheets of paper, it works perfectly
CONCLUSION: All in all, this is a great value for a printer. Brother has come a long way when it comes to making their set up user friendly. As noted above, expectations have to be appropriate for these multi-function printers, but even given the weak spots for this printer, it is a great printer for home or home office. Recommended.

In love with my Dyson fan
on May 14, 2021

Dyson doesn't need any introduction and so does this fan. Aesthetically, there's no match for Dyson products and this fan is no different. We own several Dyson products and honestly, once you start using their products, there's no going back. They are that good. This Dyson HP07 has impressed us on all levels. From the symmetric cut-outs on the air intake to the chamfer-like edges on the bladeless fan assembly, this Dyson’s air purifier/fan stands out. It’s about 30 inches tall, which makes it hard to tuck away in the corner. The base is slim at 9.5 inches and it doesn’t occupy too much space in the room. The distinctive design certainly generates visual appeal; the Dyson air purifier would be a good fit in any home. It is rare that you see this level of thought put into a device as simple as a fan.
The package arrived slightly damaged but luckily, the fan inside was safe with no signs of damage. I opened it as soon as it arrived and have been using it for four days. It's been awesome. The fan's eye-catching looks work great for our living room. It came with 2 carbon filters and a remote that attaches to the top of the fan magnetically (shown in attached pictures). The filters came fully wrapped and packaged and not already fitted on the fan. The only drawback would be to consider the cost associated with a new filter as they are quite pricey, though they do last a while. The fan doesn’t collect dust like other fans do and is super stylish. Setup was breeze - just insert the 2 filters, download the Dyson Link app, add the device, and setup wifi access. The LCD display is very clear and bright. It tells you exactly how “dirty” or “clean” the air is in each room.
You get 10 speed settings on the fan for cooling or heating. The carbon filter absorbs odors and organic compounds while the HEPA filter takes care of anything else. Fan on 5 or below is silent, just sounds like a light breeze. It is also an air filtration system with a HEPA filter that does a great job. It is smart enough to detect particles and temperature in the room and adjust its fan speed automatically. As its hot most of the time in Arizona (where we live), I'm expecting to use the cool function more often than the hot one. Although, I did try both for review purpose. Combining the heater and fan is an excellent idea - reducing the number of appliances needed in a room. We don't own any portable heater as it doesn't get that cold here but it will be very useful in places where it gets very cold. The remote and app work seamlessly and without any glitch. You can control it from your smart phone and monitor the performance over any time duration you want. However, you will definitely need to be careful with the remote as it's very likely to get lost because of its size. The remote gives you 45, 90, 180 & 350 degree of rotation options. The app doesn’t include merely the essential functions, but takes it up a notch. The oscillation function can be set to a specific angle by tapping on the display. The heat can also be set to the exact temperature you want. The app also displays granular data on air pollution levels in the room. It can track PM2.5, PM10, NO2 values, as well as temperature and humidity levels over the course of the day. Additionally, you can set the Dyson air purifier to a timer in case you want it switched on before you get back home. If you prefer not to have a directed stream, it is a cinch to switch over to the rear ambient cooling mode. This is a particularly neat trick that gives you most of the cooling benefits, albeit with a diffused stream from the rear-facing vents. It is is not an air conditioner unit so do not expect such a function. It is not sold as an AC neither should you expect that from a fan. It does however help reduce the temperature of a room down considerably, is very quiet & does not hinder or disturb sleep.
Cooling and heating aside, the primary function of the Dyson Pure Hot and Cool is to serve as an air purifier. Dyson’s air purifier employs a pair of filters to cleanse the air. This includes a HEPA glass filter and an activated carbon filter, which, combined, are rated to purify 99.7 percent of air pollutants. The HEPA filter is responsible for cleaning out particles as small as 0.1 percent. Meanwhile, the activated carbon filter scrubs gases, and any untoward odor from the room. The Dyson air purifier has a digital meter on the front of the unit that provides an up-to-date readout of pollution levels.
Priced at $649.99, there is no doubt the Dyson Pure Hot and Cool air purifier is expensive. It really comes down to what you want from your household gadgets. I would recommend it if your pocket allows and, definitely if you are a Dyson fan like me.

Healthy lifestyle with no more preserved juice!
on April 10, 2021
Posted by: MacUser
from Sacramento, CA
After hours upon hours and hours of researching for a quality juicer, I chose this one and I am glad I did. I have owned several juicers, and this one is by far my favorite. So far everything is as I was expecting from what I read online, it makes more juice than my old regular juicer, it is a lot quiet. The sound it's makes will not get everyone out of bed. It is comparatively easier to clean than the others, without strong noise. You can juice apples, carrot, pears, ginger, leafy greens and wheatgrass with this great multi-purpose juicer. It is easy to put together and start using straight away and clean after each use. This juicer can be classified as one of those high-end products because unlike those cheaper juicers it can automatically separate the juice from the residue, makes it easy and safe, even for babies. You can enjoy your healthy juices with different mixtures and flavors every single day. It has a small feeder chute to help avoid any injuries and a unique juice storage cup panel that will also help with easier cleaning after use. I love how quick and quiet this machine is. Even though waste is pretty dry, I sometimes run it through a second time to get another 6 oz or so of juice. And then there’s even less waste! It is smaller than other juicers I have used but being small also has its' down side you can not juice in bulk it will not be able to handle that.
I have been juicing everyday for a week since I got this juicer and have had no problems. I have juiced kale, oranges, lemons, parsley, cilantro, beets, celery, cucumber, carrots, ginger, spinach, mint, apples. Its awesome! It has handled all of these fruits and veggies like a champ. I feel that the yield on this juicer is very good. I do run my pulp though for a 2nd go but if I run it though a 3rd time it's practically dry. Dryer than any pulp other juicers have ever put out for me. It does sometimes have a bit of foam on the top of the juice but that really is based on what exactly you are juicing and there is a lot less foam compared to the fast juicers. I'm okay with little foam anyways. So that's not an issue. This machine has had no issues taking everything that we decide to feed into the chute, never has been stressed or jammed and haven't needed to use the reverse button once. The juice yield is reported to be higher than normal- up to 90% with this masticating juicer with a 7 spiral updated auger that runs at a low 80 rpm rotating speed. With no or very little damage to the cell walls, the healthy nutrients- vitamins, minerals and enzymes will be maintained better than with the fast centrifugal juicers. The safety lock design will help you assemble and disassemble the juicer in just a few minutes.
I've been juicing for years, but always got discouraged when it came time to clean the juicer. I love how easy it is to clean the parts!! I was afraid it was going to be more complicated but it is not. Parts come apart easily. Like all juicer screens, you need to scrub it a little but has a smaller screen than other juicers. This makes it less to clean. The seal on the green cap gets build up under it. That is the biggest pain to clean but still less to clean than other juicers I have used. I don't feel like it's fair to review this product on durability when I've only used it about a month now.
Overall, I think this juicer is going to revolutionize home juicing for those who don't like lots of noise or lengthy clean up routines. I look forward to trying new recipes with this juicer.

Best Cordless Vacuum Ever
on March 23, 2021
Posted by: MacUser
from Sacramento, CA
Dyson is one of those brands that doesn't need any introduction, specially their vacuums. V15 is no different. This is the best vacuum that we have used so far. I admit, I was a bit skeptical that a smaller stick vacuum could do the job in an almost 2700 sq ft house. Our previous dyson vacuum (ball) is not cordless and is the beast. Since this V15 is cordless, I expected it to be less powerful than my old one but to my surprise, it's gave tough competition. We are just in love with it. The brains Dyson added to this vacuum, along with the bigger battery capacity, have immensely added to the vacuum time I get on a charge. We also own a cordless vacuum from a different brand and the battery life is just awful on that. We hardly get around 15 mins (max) on it. So my expectation from Dyson V15 wasn't high as far as the battery life is concerned but boy, have I been surprised. This thing packs a major punch, and as a clean freak I couldn’t ask for a better machine. It is quiet, sophisticated, and easy to maneuver from hardwoods to carpet and rugs.
Upon opening, you will find an abundance of accessories packed nicely inside the box. Our previous dyson also came with a lot of accessories, We haven't even used half of them. At this point, I'm not sure if accessories are interchangeable or not. I haven't tried that yet but I think they are. It also comes with wall mount if you wish to mount it on wall for storing and/or charging. This is another feature that I like about dyson products, they think of all possible ways to meet customer requirements. The vacuum came pre-charged but I still put it on charge as dyson recommends. It took about an hour to fully charge but usually it takes about 4.5 hours to charge if it's completely dead. The extra power of the V15 does add size and weight to the vacuum. The battery is a bit bigger, the motor is a bit bigger and the filter is bigger.
Aesthetically the the coolest thing is the LED display that shows what mode you are using the vacuum in. It has 3 different modes: 1) Eco, 2) Medium & 3) Boost. The modes work exactly how they are named with Eco mode being the slowest and Boost being the most powerful mode. The battery usage will depend upon what mode you use the vacuum in. You will get most battery life in Eco mode and less in Boost mode. The good thing is LCD screen displays how much battery is left in terms of minutes. Dyson claims it can give you up to 60 minutes but again it all depends upon the mode of usage. The vacuum can be transformed in to a handheld one should you need to use it for vacuuming your car or upholstery. It also calculates and categorizes picked-up particles.
It comes with a total of 7 cleaner heads. These are:
1) High torque cleaner head
2) Laser Slim Fluffy cleaner head
3) Hair screw tool
4) Mini soft dusting brush
5) Crevice tool
6) Combination tool
7) Stubborn dirt brush
The Laser Slim Fluffy cleaner head features a precisely-angled laser which reveals microscopic dust specifically on hard floor. Laser can be turned On/Off with the switch on the cleaner head. My wife owns the Dyson hair dryer and the V15 vacuum sounds exactly same as that. Honestly, I would never tell the difference if you run of these gadgets while I'm blindfold.
It’s pricey, yes. But I’m 100% convinced it’s well worth the hole in your wallet. If you’re on the fence, stop sitting there and get this vacuum. It exceeds all expectations, and I’m so excited to continue to clean with it.

Best Smart lock so far
on March 7, 2021
Posted by: MacUser
from Sacramento, CA
I am super impressed with this lock and the amount of features it has. It was easy to install. The installation took 15 mins and the lock was ready to be used. Installation instructions were clear to follow. I have never been so satisfied with the ease of installation of any of the smart device. If you can hang curtains, you can install this. They thought of every possible installation scenario and included hardware for any eventuality. So kudos to the manufacturers. Removing the old lock and handles allowed me to measure and see no modifications at all were needed in my case. All the pieces look very well made and packaged neatly inside the box. It comes with 5 physical keys. The feature that I like the best of this lock is the fingerprint reader, it provides the quickest way to lock/unlock my door without having to carry any keys. Fingerprint reader is quick and very responsive and accurate. It's great, no keys, my wife has a number of fingers programmed and is a life saver when you have groceries or laundry and you don't have discretion on what finger to present to the lock. You are going to love the un-boxing experience of this lock. It is beautifully packaged with everything you need. The first thing that strikes you is how heavy and well built the lock is and how smoothly it operates. It has all the templates you need if you need to drill a new bore.
Once you download the app, it's so easy to program. I love that there are so many ways to use it: Actual keys, a number code, through the app with Bluetooth and wifi if you have a smart device, using Google home/Alexa app or fingerprints. You can assign codes to trusted users (permanent codes) or guest users (temporary codes). You can allow guests to access your home by sending them a one-time specific access code by text, (which will be different for each guest). You can determine the amount of time that code will be good for; and you have the full ability to delete any code at any time you choose to deny access to any person, throughout Eufy mobile app, you can monitor who is coming in and out of your home, with the timestamp, and how they accessed your lock, (mobile, manually, touchscreen, or by fingerprint).
It comes with a rechargeable 10,000 mah battery that can last up to 12 months. This is very impressive as you don't have to worry about replacing batteries every 6 months or so. My previous smart lock was literally a battery eater. No matter you use the lock or not, the 4 AA batteries depleted so fast and I had to replace them about every 6 months. Most of the time, the lock would not work at all. It was a smart lock but I never had the courage to leave my house without the physical keys because I had the fear that the app won't work and I would be locked outside of my own house. What's the point of having a smart lock then. But luckily, I've found this awesome Eufy smartlock which has been a blessing and is yet to disappoint us. Make sure you charge the battery before installing. Another awesome feature of this lock is the micro usb slot which is at the bottom. It lets you plug in the cable using a powerbank and use the lock in case the battery runs out. How thoughtful is that?
The physical keys exist for emergencies and should not be used as a regular means of opening the locks. The company says this, our locksmith said this, and they definitely feel flimsy. The keypad stays asleep (and dark) until you need to use it, then it wakes up. You type in your code and press the enter key. The biometric reader wakes up very quickly, and when it gets it right on the first try, it is amazingly fast. Bluetooth is another method of locking/unlocking. You use your phone's bluetooth for this operation but honestly, you would hardly use it. Another method for locking/unlocking is via google home or amazon alexa app. It can be lock using them with a simple command but to unlock it, you have to a have a pin set up.
Overall, I'm very much satisfied with this lock and would definitely recommend it.

Great blender!
on January 28, 2021
Posted by: MacUser
from Sacramento, CA
This is a great blender that rivals my other much more expensive blender. I’ve taken a break from my other blender, which retails for almost 4 to 5 times the cost of this blender, to test this one out for a week. I love it! It gives my other blender a run for the money. It's all about power. It creates smoothies and crushes ice in 20-40 seconds. Surprisingly the motor is not very loud and doesn't have that high-pitched sound many other blenders make. It seems to me that the motor varies the speed on its own to maximize chopping efficiency. Very impressive. The jar has great capacity to blend a few cups of smoothie. It is very easily programmed. I like the fact that this is very powerful which can crushed ice effortlessly. Here are some observations
For chopping, this blender is impressive. It looks so much like a food processor that I tried chopping an onion, and got acceptable results. I would absolutely use this for that. For ice crushing, Yes, yes, yes. Snow in blazingly fast time. Sno-cones, margaritas, whatever, this blender has that application covered. Fantastic results, far better than the other blender. For pulverizing, I thought it was very good but not great. In my homemade jalapeño-coleslaw dressing, the blender didn’t quite get all the jalapeño pulverized, and there were little chunks still in the dressing. It had a little trouble pulverizing 2 large bunches of kale, and I had to stop the blender a few times to use a scraper to push the leaves down. I also needed to add some water to aid in the blending. The leaves ended up rather smoothly pulverized, although I don’t think they were quite as fine as in the other blender.
Power and wattage are most important when it comes to the blending of large batches. Blenders with powerful motor tend to be noisier but come with the ability to crush nearly everything. A standard countertop blender used to smoothies and other ice blended/frozen drinks have the power of 500 watts and serves to be sufficient. Immersion blenders are usually low in power which is why they are not capable of blending hard fruits and veggies. If you are looking for a blender that simply does the chopping, mixing and pureeing, you can get one with 300 watts. If you want a blender that can turn nuts into pastes, you better get a 700 watts or more power blender. This blender is 1000 Watt!!
It's easier to scrape out all the food from the blender to get it perfectly clean. My other blender always ends up with food stuck under the blades, and if it’s something like hummus, it’s really hard to get it clean. So the design on the blades in this blender is brilliant. Be careful, though: those blades are sharp. I managed to slice my hands open on two separate occasions while trying to put them in or take them out of the dishwasher.
Seriously, having tried this blender, I can’t see recommending that anyone spend the extra money on expensive brands. This is a really nice blender.

Quality hot coffee!

I was so excited when I received this couple of weeks ago. My sister-in-law had the same machine and after she made me a cup of coffee I had to have my own. I was skeptical on the price but this machine makes such delicious coffee. The coffee blends Nespresso has are so good and such a variety. I have been a K-cup drinker for a few years now but boy-o-boy am I really enjoying my espresso. I get a great cup of coffee every time. Much better than I even expected. The only problem is, that I can't live without it. I cannot say enough good things about makers and the product! The machine itself is beautifully designed, very solid and well made. I really like that the machine disposed of the cartridges into a container for easy disposal. I never thought an automated coffee machine with pods could taste so good. This thing makes terrific espressos and is really easy to use, at least for basic functions. I really like the small size - this takes up much less room on a countertop and is easily transported if you want to take it along when visiting family or friends over the holidays. The Nespresso machine perfectly meets all of my requirements. Buying this tiny-shiny espresso maker is worth every penny for someone who prefers espresso over dripping coffee. This machine makes a strong and flavorful Italian espresso that even smells heavenly. The body made from metal, the painting is smooth and shiny. Nice to touch it. Surprisingly, the plastic parts are very good quality too. It's extremely easy to use. Just follow the manual it is correct. The machine does make a noise when it makes the coffee, but I won't say it's too loud or noisy. I find it noisier in the cleaning cycle (running through water without pods), which concerned me initially.
Pros:
- It’s very compact! Doesn’t take up nearly as much countertop space as our Keurig. Has a minimal & sleek look!
- It’s quick. Takes under a minute for machine to warm up and pour espresso.
- Machine shuts off by itself!
- Espresso tastes great! If you’re into a quick little latte or cappuccino a few times a day, you’ll be saving tons of money by not frequenting coffee shops twice a day.
I have only had it for a short period of time but so far every cup of espresso has been perfect or at least better than I ever imagined getting from a pod. This espresso machine is fantastic. It’s well made, small (perfect for my small kitchen). It makes the tastiest, smooth, creamy espresso. I love lattes and cappuccinos so espresso is very important element to it. My espresso is so tasty now. It would have been really good if they had included some samples with it and that's the reason I've deducted one star from my review. There is nothing negative that I can say about it, apart from this one complaint. If you are in the market for an espresso maker, then this is THE best way to go! If you are looking for a small, fairly inexpensive espresso machine that produces a good quality shot, IMO this is a good choice. The capsules aren't cheap, but neither is a double shot from a coffee shop. The nice thing is, it's quick and easy, and you can have your espresso before running out the door in the morning.

Nice addition to my automated home!

These Nanoleaf lights are a great addition to my automated home. These lights are amazingly cool! I received these lights couple of weeks ago but didn't get a chance to install and test them until few days ago. I got the lamp with 7 hexagonal panels. All the panels are stacked on top of each other inside the box with great protection. So there's no fear of these lights being damaged in transit whatsoever. These lights are awesome. Easy setup, go to the beat of music pretty well, and came with mounts that attach to walls very easily. I like the lights and I think they're a great value. The item is as described. They seem fairly well made and the process for hooking them all together is easy. I think the lights themselves are pretty good and have a wide range of effects. The lights are very bright when used at 100%. I especially love that each segment can display a variety of colors. The touch feature on the base unit is a really nice feature too. The iOS app allows you to choose a single color (for all the hexagons) or various dynamic effects. Some of the effects are very attractive. As a nice looking mood light, with some flexibility, and with the option for dynamic colors, one can't complain. The app asks for your location, but only because that permission is required to scan for WiFi networks - you can give it a one-time permission for setup and is not needed again. It's actually smart enough to understand that even though your phone might be on a 5GHz network, you may want to connect it to a different network and does the right thing by scanning for every network and choosing the one you want the light to use. It asks for bluetooth permissions so that the phone can tell the light which WiFi network to use.
Here are some pros:
- Pretty in dark areas.
- Unique way to implement lighting.
- Well built lights, easy to assemble, and rearrange.
- Work with Apple Homekit, Alexa and google
They're well engineered and manufactured. The hexagons are held together with clips that connect in the back. I was worried they might be flimsy, but they're not. The color effects are quite nice. They're really vibrant, can get incredibly bright, and the combinations you can put the tiles in are endless. Everyone that sees it in my place has noticed it and asked about where to purchase it. The combination of light patterns and colors is really cool and you can literally make the design of the lamp into almost an endless array of shapes by assembling the blocks in any order. The predefined patterns are very well done and it reacts nicely to music. The pattern designer takes a couple tries to get the hang of it, once you do, it's a whole new world of possibilities to play with.
Overall, I'm satisfied with this item and would recommend it.

Nice upgrade from Pixel 1
on November 24, 2020

I bought and gifted my mom the very first Pixel XL when it came out about 4 years ago. That phone had been holding up pretty well until now, no complaints. I got her the 64 gb version which started to max out, so it was time for the upgrade. She loved her Pixel XL so much that she didn't want to switch to any other phone and I didn't want to give her the older generation Pixel. Fortunately, Pixel 5 came out and it was perfect timing. So I got this one for her and she just can't thank me enough. It's a big upgrade for her from Pixel 1 XL to 5 without compromising on the size (pic of both phones side by side attached for comparison). She just loves it. The only thing that she's still getting used to is the lack of three virtual buttons at the bottom that Pixel 1 XL had. It will take some time but she will get a hang of it for sure. It feels so nice to hold the phone and is very lightweight. I immediately ordered a phone cover & a screen protector as I know all modern phones are so delicate that they can break even if you just dream about dropping them. Lol.
Since my mom isn't too much into tech, I had to set the phone up for her and do the usual data transfer. Surprisingly, it gave me bit of a hard time setting up/transferring data. Not sure what the problem was. It would get stuck at one point during set up process, just would not proceed and eventually give up. I tried 3 times and put it aside after failing every time. I then tried it again after about half an hour and it worked right away. It was walk in the park after that. I finished the setup/transfer and explored the phone little bit. I will admit, it's a great phone in comparison with the other Pixel that she had. My dad has a Pixel 4 and even in comparison to that, Pixel 5 seems a lot more upgraded. The only feature missing from Pixel 5 as compared to 4 is the facial unlock feature. Really, I'm not sure why you would remove one of the best features from your phone. I read somewhere online that according to Google, it's ‘a good trade-off’ to enable other premium features. I don't know about that but I do miss that feature. Hence the reason for deducting a star.
This phone is equipped with 5G capability but I was not much excited about this feature as we don't have 5G coverage in our area but it's a good to have feature that we can use in future. It has a 90 hz display which is wonderfully smooth. The phone feels incredibly responsive and the difference between this and the Pixel 1 XL screen is very noticeable. Gives you just as much usable space as the 1 XL, but with so much less weight/bevel. Camera is also good. Every photo blows me away and the portrait mode is so good. The lack of an absolutely bleeding-edge sensor does not negatively impact the camera at all. The lack of a separate chip for processing images means that the time it takes for a picture to be visible in perfect quality after you take it is noticeable. It's not a problem at all if you're taking three or less pictures or if you're not immediately checking to see what the picture looked like, but if you're taking a bunch at once, you may occasionally find yourself getting frustrated by the seconds it takes to actually be able to flip through all the pictures. Pixel phones are among the best, if not the best, for taking photos, hence you can rest assured that it's quite easy to take awesome quality photos, without putting in much effort. The dual camera setup, features the standard wide angle & an ultra wide angle sensor. The photo editing/touching up software that comes with the phone is pretty impressive and fast, there is the ability to change the lighting and shadows in the pic after its been taken. I have not had enough time to deep dive but the few things I've tried have worked well. Fingerprint scanner is fast and accurate, a definite improvement over Pixel 1 XL. Battery life is phenomenal. Each charge seems to last about 1.5 days of regular usage. Much better than the previous phone. Wireless charging & reverse wireless charging are super convenient with metal enclosure. Again, an added feature that Pixel 1 XL didn't have. Sound quality is nice but sounds tiny to me at high volume, this is because there are no speakers built in but uses a vibration technology to play sound through the phone. I'm not talking about midrange where most people are likely to use but at full blast.
This is the best choice for a modern android phone in 2020! It has great power-efficient specs, 90 Hz display, long-lasting battery, all-screen design (no notch!), very responsive fingerprint reader (for those who cannot use face unlock). I would definitely recommend it.

My kids like the game so I purchased it for them... box says it comes with all season one characters... They only have access to one dude... either something is wrong or it's harder than it needs to be to figure out.

Install them manually!
March 24, 2015
It does come with all Season 1 characters. A lot of people have had this problem of not getting them all. Luckily I didn't. You can manually install the characters if your console didn't do it for you. Once the disc is inside the console, go the box where a "white" disc is displayed. This box shows the disc currently inside the console. Hit the menu button and then go to "manage bundle" option. You can then install all Season 1 characters from there on. Hopefully this will solve your issue. I'm still surprised how it installed automatically for me!

There's a reason why they keep them there and fortunately for them, you were the victim. Great review though. Made me laugh :)
