REALLY solid sound!

I have to admit that I've not often been interested in Bluetooth speakers, but this one is quite impressive. Barely larger than a can of Coke, this speaker puts out very impressive low-frequency and mid-range sound. I need to listen to more music through this speaker, but from listening to Joe Bonamassa "Sloe Gin" I would have to say that the high-frequency is a tad limited. But you can't have it all in such a small speaker, and all-in-all this one is definitely worth your time and money.

We have two miniature long-haired Dachshunds, and our house seems to be perpetually dusty. We own two other Dyson vacuums, and one was getting a little long in the tooth so this is taking the place of our retiree. I definitely recommend this vacuum. Dyson products are awesome, and if you can swing it do pick one up. You won't regret it!

I received my Velop today, and immediately installed it once I got home from the office.
First impression is that the devices are beautiful. Linksys wasn't kidding when they said the modules could be left out in the open without feeling geeky. The other thing I'll mention is that the cables provided appear to be of high quality, and I do not believe they will suffer from fatigue over time.
I downloaded the Linksys app for my iPhone and began the installation process. The instructions told me to plug-in the power adapter for the initial node (Linksys calls it the "parent node"), which I did. It then asked me whether I had a discrete modem and router (two devices), or a single combined modem and router. I had the latter, so the app instructed me to connect this node to a port on my existing WiFi router via the provided network cable. A couple of virtual button presses on the app, and my parent node was connected and ready to go. I went through the same process for the two additional nodes. Since I have a two-story home, and my parent node if roughly located in the center of the downstairs portion of our home, I located the two additional nodes upstairs on opposite ends of the home. The app has a nice feature whereby a location check is performed when a new node is added, and tells you whether the node's location is optimal for obtaining the best WiFi speed. The app complained a bit about the location of the first upstairs node location, but after trying a couple of other locations within the same room, the app was happy and I was happy. I must have guessed right on the last node, as the app was happy with its location from the start.
I expected the Velop to replace my "old" AC router, but the app never advised that I could remove it. I made a phone call to Linksys and they reinforced that my understanding was correct - my "old" AC WiFi router could be removed (but does not have to be). I did so, and plugged the cable from my FiOS connection into the base of my parent node, and everything worked flawlessly. The fact that the app never indicated that I could remove my old WiFi router could be an app maturity issue, or I suppose it is possible that I just missed something along the way.
I can say that the weakest signal I'm seeing in my home now is in the range of 94 percent, which is much better than my previous AC WiFi router. All 24 connected devices have reconnected to the new system without any issues as I kept the SSID the same between the Velop and my previous router.
On some mesh router system reviews I have seen complaints that the SSID must be different between the modules. That's not the case with Velop. One SSID is used across all three nodes, so there's no need to split up your WiFi across different parts of your home.
My first impression of the system is quite positive. The speed that I'm getting from my devices is basically my wire speed of 50 Mbps. At this point I am a very happy camper.

Cleanest hardwoods since we moved in 17 years ago

We've been using the old standby for our hardwood floors - a handheld mop - so this is quite a change for us. Assembly was VERY straightforward, with basically an attachment of the pole to the mop head, and a snap-on plastic measuring cup. Directions were hardly needed when it's that simple.
One thing that likely will never change when cleaning hardwoods is that the hardwoods should be swept before cleaning. As far as ease of use, this is about as simple as it gets. The mop applies steam to the floor, which has the advantage of removing anything that has adhered to the floor. A little steam, a little scrubbing, and the problem is solved.
The power cord is nice and sturdy, which is good as well as not so good since it can get in the way during use. Additionally, the mop won't self-stand, which would be helpful when running into items on the floor that were missed when the floor was swept and need to be picked up. You can, however, lean it into a corner and it will stay in place just fine.

Premiere Elements 15 is Adobe's entry-level video editing software, and offers tools available in Photoshop CC and Elements. The Remix feature allows for matching of music and video clip length.
Not much else to say - great starter package if you want to try video editing.

Some nice features include Smart Tags, which are applied automatically and help to identify features in images. Search for 'baby' and identify photos with a baby in your photo collection. Quick Edit and Organizer modes allow for 'instant fix' edits to be applied to multiple photos.

After several years and many cartridges of use, my HP Photosmart Pro 8600 Plus lost its ability to connect to my home WiFi. I kept it on the network for a couple of months via a cabled connection to my router, but it felt like the time was right to respectfully retire this printer and buy a new one. I have used HP printers for years and have had great service from them, so HP was my first stop for the replacement.
I decided on a higher-end multifunction device this time around. I was originally thinking of getting a midrange color laser MFD, but was intrigued by HP's PageWide technology. As the name suggests, printing occurs over the entire width of the page at once with a page-wide cartridge rather than a moving print head. As you might image, this technology delivers amazingly fast print speeds. The specs state up to 70 pages per minute for color printing, but seeing it hand out page after page after... Well it's a thing of beauty.
Construction of this printer is very solid (the term "built like a tank" comes to mind). It is not significantly larger than my old printer, but the weight is nearly 60 pounds.
Cartridges for this printer are not exactly inexpensive, but even the lower capacity cartridges are good for up to 3000 (color) or 3500 (black and white) pages. That's a LOT of pages for me, so I suspect that it will be quite some time before I need to worry about replacing them.
I received the printer less than a week ago, so I'm just scratching the surface on its capabilities. If you want a higher-end "prosumer" quality printer, I would recommend that you give this one a shot. It's absolutely amazing!

The Rocket Complete Upright is great for quick clean-up work. It is relatively quiet, but very effectively cleans. The unit is powerful yet light, making it easy to handle. The vacuum head has a low profile which allows it to get to places where our other vacuums cannot go.

I replaced an existing cable that had worn connectors on either end. The cable would move, and I would experience drop-outs.
This cable fits great, and there is no more movement in the mating sockets, and no more drop-outs!

Awesome wireless router!

I've been using my Linksys EA9500 WiFi router for about three days now, and it has been a great experience! The first thing I noticed was a very clean user interface, which lends to easier setup of WiFi and connection to my provider's broadband. WiFi speeds are FAST... MUCH faster than my home broadband, which is Frontier FiOS 50/50 mbps. I easily see my 50/50 mbps speeds when I do a speedtest over WiFi.
The experience with this router has been great, and I look forward to its continued use for years to come.

I have a very strong wifi network password: made up of several words and spaces, etc. During the setup process it told me it did not support such passwords.
Now, this is not unusual. It is standard WPA2, and I have many devices (computers, phone, printers, etc) that can handle the password just fine.
Thus the WeMo is useless.

New firmware

I just bought a WeMo outlet today, and was concerned that I would have problems with my WPA2/AES encryption. I was able to connect initially, but couldn't power the outlet on or off via my iPhone. After a few minutes, the iPhone application indicated that there was a new firmware update, which I applied and now the device works correctly. Not sure this will address your issue, but thought I'd throw it out there.

I bought this product thinking it would make timer settings and remote control of my light easy, but the iOS app was hard to use for scheduling and the connection was always a hit and miss, not reliable at all. I returned the product after using it for a week. I will wait for future releases.

Hi Whacknut, IFTTT will likely do what you want to do. Check out http://www.ifttt.com. I'm using it in conjunction with my WeMo Switches to turn heaters on and off on my boat when the marina temperature gets near freezing. It's a pretty slick tool.

I am an experienced and careful drone operator on typhoon and Dji models. Once it flew away on its own, unobstructed at an altitude of 160' only 9 minutes into a new battery over park land and lakes. Needless to say, I can't recommend this drone with the per flight cost I had! It was only 3 days old. Once it flew away, I went online and was floored by the number of DJI Drone owners with the same experience. I would have reconsidered buying such a new release.
Without a crashed drone I have no recourse. Nothing. I'm out $1500.

I'm a P3P owner, and have not experienced this personally, but reports on the Facebook "DJI Phantom 3 Owners Group" have owner reports of this happening. It isn't common, but it does happen for some unexplained reason...

I'll start with the design. In typical HP fashion, the aesthetics really hit the mark for me. The Ash Silver aluminum frame is complemented by Gold (colored) trim.
The display is a 3000 x 2000 IPS panel with touchscreen (and a pen for good measure). Screen sharpness and intensity is very appealing to my eye, at least. The backlit keyboard attaches with magnets, and has a nice retention feel. It folds nicely and makes for a "laptop-like" look, or may be detached and used solely as a tablet.
Internal I/O is headlined by a PCI Express 3.0 SSD (aka NVM Express), which makes overall system performance really pop. This drive is approximately 3x the speed of standard SATA III SSDs, and the latency is much lower with NVMe. There are two USB 3.1 Type C ports, a headphone/mic jack, and a micro-SD slot for external I/O. Bluetooth and integrated WiFi are also included as part of the overall I/O.
Battery life is pretty reasonable given the attractive form-factor, yielding about 8 hours of use from a full charge.
This is a solidly designed product, typical of HP design standards, and given its performance should serve me well for a few years to come.

No. I believe the cable that comes with the set is 9', which worked well for me, but my television and supporting components are located close to one another.

What is the max load it will handle? Can it control a window air conditioner (120 V, 12 Amps)
This is a great question that I have not been able to get an answer for. However, from an engineering perspective, we could deduce that since the outlet plugs into a 120VAC 15A-capable outlet, it should be able to handle that same level of current output. So if I were a betting man, I'd say it should support your application.

Does this require a monthly service fee?
Short answer: no. In your home, the device connects to your WiFi. However, you can also sign up for an IFFFT account and control your device from the cloud using a myriad of internet-based data. That account is also free, and one of the reasons I bought the device since it will be located far away from my home.

does this wemo support devices which wok on 220-240v
The outlet is designed to plug into a three-pronged 120VAC 15A style outlet. Its electronics are also powered off the outlet it plugs into, so I don't think I'd try powering off a 220/240VAC source.
