Good features, non-intrusive

Like other reputable anti-virus packages, AVG Ultimate provides robust protection for your system while doing so with minimal impact on system performance. This package offers a one-year subscription on an unlimited number of computers (PC and Mac) and phones (iOS and Android) which is renewable at the end of the subscription period. An unlimited number of computers and phones is unprecedented to the best of my knowledge!
Some features that I viewed to be helpful include: automatic updates of virus definitions and AVG Ultimate software during the subscription period, "walling off" files from ransomware attacks, as well as behavioral analysis of threats with immediate containment and uploading for analysis by AVG.
One final feature I'll mention is some utilitarian functions to clean-up and speed-up your computer(s) and phone(s).
All in all, this is a nicely featured package that is well-suited for families that have multiple computers and phones.

The GOLD Standard for PDFs

A PDF is a PDF? Not unless you use Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. At work, I've used packages that are sub-par in creating and handling PDFs and I'm just about fed up enough to buy Acrobat for use on my work PC just as I do on my home PC.
Adobe Acrobat Pro DC avoids all of that hassle. I've never had an issue creating, viewing, or editing a PDF with Acrobat. It really is the gold standard that other packages try to achieve.

Some may argue, but in my opinion Adobe is the leader in photo editing software. From the early days of the complex, and frankly klunky Photoshop, they have refined the capabilities over the years and evolved a much simpler user interface into Photoshop Elements 2018. Rather than assuming everyone is a Photoshop expert, there are three different levels of working with Photoshop Elements 2018: Quick, Guided, and Expert.
Regardless your level of expertise with previous photo editing packages, you can pretty well dive in with Photoshop Elements 2018 and produce photos that look like they were done by a pro.

Best technology in a robot vacuum to-date

As the summary states, this robotic vacuum cleaner absolutely has the best technology implementation to-date. Take the robot out of the box, and charge it up. While you are charging it, download the "Hoover Home App" and get your account setup. Once the robot is completely charged, connect it via your Hoover Home app. That's the hard part (and it isn't hard).
Next thing is to let the robot map your home via its "recon" mission. This allows the robot to traverse your home and to learn where the hard boundaries are. Due to unusual wall angles in a room of our home that the robot began from, our robot's recon mission did not correctly complete. It seems to have assumed that this one room of our home was the entirety of our home. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be an obvious way to delete that recon mission data and put the robot back in to recon mode once more for a complete mapping. I hope to catch the Hoover support folks tomorrow to see how that can be done. The application really should allow you to do this, as I'm certain I'm not the only person this will happened to.
Once the recon mission is done, you can construct "virtual walls" in your mapped home where you don't want the robot to clean. THIS is one of the key features that I've been waiting on, and it works great!
Once the robot begins cleaning, it does a really nice job optimizing the cleaning in lines parallel to your home's walls. That may not seem like a big deal, but it minimizes the amount of turns required during cleaning, which reduces cleaning time. You can use the Hoover Home app to setup cleaning schedules (i.e. while you're at work, etc).
We have two mini long-haired Dachshunds in the home, and one sheds a lot. Did I say a lot? The robot does a really good job pickup up said hair. Given we have dogs in the home, one of my fears was that the robot would become a play toy for them, but fortunately they grew accustomed to it after a couple of days.
I highly recommend the Hoover Rogue 970. It is by far a more intelligent solution than the other options on the market!

Admittedly, I only saw the first Cars movie, and had forgotten the character names, but when I saw this "toy" I knew that my grandson would love it.
As a retiree from high-tech, I was blown away by how well the technology was integrated. A color LCD windshield really brings the car to "life" with its moving eyes. The car also responds to touch on the hood, trunk, sides, and the top. Lastly, the moving mouth is in sync with McQueen's voice. All of this makes the car perform like the cartoon character that we see on television or on the movie screen (editorial comment: where was this stuff when I was a kid??).
LED headlights and taillights come on if the action ends up in a dark environment. VERY helpful for finding McQueen when a child sends him off in an unexpected area. Of course we adults never do that sort of thing.
The quality of construction and detail-orientation is exceptional. The use of technology was done extremely well in that it remains a toy and not something overly complex to use. Since my grandson is almost two and a half, I had to spend plenty time getting used to it before we played with it together. Purely to make his initial experience a good one, nothing more. :)

Makes brushing fun

This "toothbrush" has cool technology and is more like something you'd have a dental hygienist use in the office during a cleaning. That makes brushing much less a chore, and more of a joy. Connecting to your phone via Bluetooth technology, the phone keeps tabs on your brushing effectiveness and regularity of use.
The only thing that it won't do (to the best of my knowledge) is store your brushing sessions for syncing later. So to track your cleaning progress you seem to need to have your phone connected to the toothbrush with the app running while brushing.

Beautiful design, solid performance

I'll start with the design. In typical HP fashion, the aesthetics really hit the mark for me. The Ash Silver aluminum frame is complemented by Gold (colored) trim.
The display is a 3000 x 2000 IPS panel with touchscreen (and a pen for good measure). Screen sharpness and intensity is very appealing to my eye, at least. The backlit keyboard attaches with magnets, and has a nice retention feel. It folds nicely and makes for a "laptop-like" look, or may be detached and used solely as a tablet.
Internal I/O is headlined by a PCI Express 3.0 SSD (aka NVM Express), which makes overall system performance really pop. This drive is approximately 3x the speed of standard SATA III SSDs, and the latency is much lower with NVMe. There are two USB 3.1 Type C ports, a headphone/mic jack, and a micro-SD slot for external I/O. Bluetooth and integrated WiFi are also included as part of the overall I/O.
Battery life is pretty reasonable given the attractive form-factor, yielding about 8 hours of use from a full charge.
This is a solidly designed product, typical of HP design standards, and given its performance should serve me well for a few years to come.

Very effective toothbrush

I previously used an ultrasonic brush from a different manufacturer, but wanted to give this one a shot. My first impression was that there has to be more mechanical cleaning produced by this brush than my other despite the fact that there is less effort required for brushing with this system. Highly recommend the Oral-B system!

I've never had any issues getting a router up and working in my home... until now. I suspect there is either a hardware issue or some type of issue with my specific topology that is causing an issue, but at this point I'm dead in the water. :(
I'll have to not recommend the product until this gets sorted out.

I have a very strong wifi network password: made up of several words and spaces, etc. During the setup process it told me it did not support such passwords.
Now, this is not unusual. It is standard WPA2, and I have many devices (computers, phone, printers, etc) that can handle the password just fine.
Thus the WeMo is useless.

New firmware

I just bought a WeMo outlet today, and was concerned that I would have problems with my WPA2/AES encryption. I was able to connect initially, but couldn't power the outlet on or off via my iPhone. After a few minutes, the iPhone application indicated that there was a new firmware update, which I applied and now the device works correctly. Not sure this will address your issue, but thought I'd throw it out there.

I bought this product thinking it would make timer settings and remote control of my light easy, but the iOS app was hard to use for scheduling and the connection was always a hit and miss, not reliable at all. I returned the product after using it for a week. I will wait for future releases.

Hi Whacknut, IFTTT will likely do what you want to do. Check out http://www.ifttt.com. I'm using it in conjunction with my WeMo Switches to turn heaters on and off on my boat when the marina temperature gets near freezing. It's a pretty slick tool.

I am an experienced and careful drone operator on typhoon and Dji models. Once it flew away on its own, unobstructed at an altitude of 160' only 9 minutes into a new battery over park land and lakes. Needless to say, I can't recommend this drone with the per flight cost I had! It was only 3 days old. Once it flew away, I went online and was floored by the number of DJI Drone owners with the same experience. I would have reconsidered buying such a new release.
Without a crashed drone I have no recourse. Nothing. I'm out $1500.

I'm a P3P owner, and have not experienced this personally, but reports on the Facebook "DJI Phantom 3 Owners Group" have owner reports of this happening. It isn't common, but it does happen for some unexplained reason...

No. I believe the cable that comes with the set is 9', which worked well for me, but my television and supporting components are located close to one another.

What is the max load it will handle? Can it control a window air conditioner (120 V, 12 Amps)
This is a great question that I have not been able to get an answer for. However, from an engineering perspective, we could deduce that since the outlet plugs into a 120VAC 15A-capable outlet, it should be able to handle that same level of current output. So if I were a betting man, I'd say it should support your application.

Does this require a monthly service fee?
Short answer: no. In your home, the device connects to your WiFi. However, you can also sign up for an IFFFT account and control your device from the cloud using a myriad of internet-based data. That account is also free, and one of the reasons I bought the device since it will be located far away from my home.

does this wemo support devices which wok on 220-240v
The outlet is designed to plug into a three-pronged 120VAC 15A style outlet. Its electronics are also powered off the outlet it plugs into, so I don't think I'd try powering off a 220/240VAC source.
