UFO's Best Album, Now Even Better

OBSESSION (2008 REMASTER) is THE version of UFO's classic 1978 album to get. There are several bonus cuts, and the sound quality is much improved over the original 1990 CD, allowing the quality of the songs, playing, and production to really shine through. It's hard to believe that guitarist Michael Schenker would leave after the tour to support it. However, it seems here that the road could have gone on forever.

Great Collection Of The First Five Hatchet Albums

ORIGINAL ALBUM CLASSICS is a slipcase containing the first five Molly Hatchet albums in remastered form. Only FLIRTIN' WITH DISASTER has bonus cuts, but the rest have been remastered, and all are in miniature replicas of the original album covers from the 70s/early 80s. What's more, you get five CDs at only $4.20 per CD. If you want a complete picture of prime-period Molly Hatchet, this is definitely THE collection to get!

GREATEST HITS (EXPANDED) (REMASTER) is a great anthology of the Danny Joe Brown era of early Molly Hatchet. It doesn't have any material from the Jimmy Farrar era, but for that you can buy THE ESSENTIAL MOLLY HATCHET. Or better yet, get Molly Hatchet's installment of ORIGINAL ALBUM CLASSICS.

THE ESSENTIAL MOLLY HATCHET is, along with GREATEST HITS, one of the best anthologies available on Molly Hatchet. Unlike GREATEST HITS, it features music from both the Danny Joe Brown AND Jimmy Farrar eras, thus giving you a complete picture of what the band were like in the late 70s/80s. It would have been nice if "Gator Country" had been in its studio version instead of the live version, but this is still one of the first Molly Hatchet CDs you should buy.
What's great about it: Great Songs, Great Playing

Great Reissue Of The Allman Brothers' Live Classic

The 2-CD version of the Allman Brothers Band's AT FILLMORE EAST is absolutely great. Everything released on the original live album is included, along with all of the live material from EAT A PEACH and songs from several anthologies. The playing, singing, and songs are all wonderful. This is one of the first Allman Brothers Band CDs you should buy.

NIGHT AT THE OPERA is, along with SHEER HEART ATTACK, one of the two best Queen albums. Unlike its predecessor, which was mostly hard rock, this one is all over the map musically. It features everything from hard rock and progressive rock to cabaret pop and jazz, plus there's a really camp sense of humor throughout. This is one of the first Queen CDs you should buy.

Amazing 3-CD Version Of Fleetwood Mac's Best Album

The expanded edition of Fleetwood Mac's RUMOURS is the best version yet released. The first disc, which contains the original album plus the B-side "Silver Springs", is amazing for how the band members were able to deal with their interpersonal turmoil (the McVies and Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks were ending their relationships at the time it was recorded) by writing songs to and about each other. I have had the same feelings about my ex-classmates due to my turn towards older music and their refusal to do so, which is why I haven't attended reunions at my old school in over eighteen years. The bonus material includes a live show from the ensuing tour and a disc of demos and unreleased material. Overall, RUMOURS is the first Fleetwood Mac CD you should buy.
What's great about it: Lots of previously unreleased material, expresses my feelings about past relationships gone sour
What's not so great: Nothing

Yet Another Great Heart CD

FANATIC is yet another great Heart album. It sounds like the band was listening to artists as diverse as Grand Funk Railroad, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Foghat, the Outlaws, Collective Soul, Widespread Panic, and Hootie & The Blowfish while writing the songs for this album, as well their own 70s work, and it shows in the diversity of the songs. The material ranges from grinding hard rock to country-based rock to soft ballads, all without missing a beat. While lacking the consistency of JUPITER'S DARLING and RED VELVET CAR, it's nevertheless a rich, rewarding CD that must be listened to repeatedly to be fully appreciated.
What's great about it: Great blend of the 70s and today
What's not so great: Nothing

Has anybody had a problem importing and playing, in I-Tunes, the Darkness on the Edge of Town CD from Bruce Springsteen's The Collection 1973-84?
I did not have any problems importing that CD.
