ONE TOKE OVER THE LINE: THE BEST OF BREWER & SHIPLEY is a great anthology by one of the top folk-rock duos of the late 60s/early 70s. It shows two young musicians acting very innocently and nonchalantly towards the rules of society, an attitude that, unfortunately, got lost in the ultra-conformist 80s. This CD will take you back to a simpler time before the suits took over music, destroying much of its innocence.

ORIGINAL ALBUM SERIES collects five vintage Foghat albums- FOGHAT, FOOL FOR THE CITY, ENERGIZED, LIVE, and TIGHT SHOES- into one affordable package. The first four present the band as a British-born, New-York-based answer to Southern rock, and are essential for fans of the Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker, and/or the Outlaws, whereas the latter's experiments with new wave, while never less than interesting, seem to lose the old magic. Nevertheless, you should own this collection for the first four albums. And who knows? Maybe TIGHT SHOES will grow on you in time.

Here, she records in a very different style from what she normally did in Fleetwood Mac, with tough, lean guitar work which at times recalls the Marshal;l Tucker Band and the Outlaws, as well as Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, who play on several tracks. Most of the lead guitar is by Waddy Watchel, whose economical, lean lead guitar lines are influenced by country-rock in both its West Coast and Southern forms. This is the first Stevie Nicks solo album you should buy.

Cry Of Love's BROTHER is a great album from 1992 that blends mid-70s British hard rock a la Bad Company with the sounds and styles of tough-on-crime Southern rockers such as the Outlaws. This blend is refreshing because it has a dry, open sound that was unique in an era where the claustrophobic sounds of grunge reigned supreme. At times you hear a blend of Marshall Tucker, the Outlaws, and Lynyrd Skynyrd with Paul Rodgers-style vocals, which holds up better than the anarchistic, meat-eater-baiting of R.E.M. and Eddie Vedder. Buy this CD and you won't be disappointed.

Has anybody had a problem importing and playing, in I-Tunes, the Darkness on the Edge of Town CD from Bruce Springsteen's The Collection 1973-84?
