This device stays plugged into an electrical outlet and extends the range of the Nest Secure home alarm system.
Good for large property coverage.
Not really needed for an apartment, condo or even a townhouse.
I do, for the most part, trust home Wi-Fi, but better safe than sorry for bigger homes.

Tough on bad guys. Easy on you.The Nest Secure alarm system is easy to live with every day. Just tap Nest Tag on Nest Guard to arm and disarm the alarm - no passcode needed. Nest Detect sensors look out for doors, windows and rooms. And with the Nest app, you can keep an eye on what matters.

Set up was easy to understand and didn’t take too much time to complete.
Videos were helpful and provided a good overview of the product.
Tags a good option to using a PIN on the keypad.
What’s really cool is how I get a notification on my Nexus 6 when no one is detected @ my condo, so I can decide to arm the alarm remotely.
Door and windows sensors and interior motion sensors give U a good idea of what’s happening to UR property and an app allows control of the system when UR not present.
Be sure to go over all the different components to get the best coverage and convenience for UR needs.
Product not as comprehensive as the Samsung/ADT one, but OK for a lot of people IMHO.
Seems strange that these products don’t work with the Google Home Mini. Mini does work with other Nest products such as the T-Stat tho.
Just so U know Nest does sell exterior and interior cameras too.

Easy to understand how to use

I like the easy clean feature and the simple way it sits on the rotor. Don't not have to concern myself with fiddling around to get it on the base.
The timed speeds are great for gauging level of smoothness and starting slow helps crush the ice before ramping up speed. The low to high and pulse features allow me to control the speed.
Compared to my Ninja, it may not be as fast but then again with the safe blade technology I don’t have to worry about cutting myself when I clean it.
Great addition to our family.

Great sound in a small package

This is my first Alexa enabled device.
Setup was easy. Firmware updated and was able to sign into my Amazon account using
Nexus 6 phone. Used the Ultimate Ears app to get going. Haven’t installed the Alexa app yet but eventually will, as it adds more functionality to the device.

Assume U can sign out, so others can share the device, without access to my credit card info.
At the moment, I don’t have a lot of Amazon content, so used Bluetooth, to listen to my music library. This may change with free videos from Amazon and support for the Chromecast.
Works fine with Nexus 6 and Toshiba Chromebook 1 just so U know.
Sound is OK but can’t detect much bass. When I opened the box it came in, I was surprised at how small it is. So, U might want to look up product specs, at the manufacturer's product website.
Battery charged up in under 60 minutes. Should have purchased the optional charging base, but can always do that later.
Oh and this device has a good on/off feature. Gives U an unusual audio tone, which is fine with me. I have used another BT speaker from Bose, that was difficult to turn on and off, so this is a welcomed feature.

This is my second vac from Hoover. Still using a Hoover Windtunnel Savvy upright with a paper bag.
First thing I noticed is that U have to place the rechargeable battery into a big, ugly, desktop charger. Living in a one bedroom condo, U can imagine my space constraints. However battery life can be 5-6 days which is a big plus.
The head cannot be cocked into a position to make it easier to roll around. The Shark has this feature. Vac does have lights so U can see what UR doing in low light conditions.
As far as sucking power, didn’t find it any better than a Shark.
Wall mount included which is nice. U have to buy one for a Shark.
Cordless pet vacs seem better suited for hard surfaces IMO.
They are also convenient for use on stairs and in UR vehicle.
But will keep using my Savvy for carpets on a level surface.

I was initially interested in this Ultrabook PC because it’s 2.45 lbs. So I knew I would most likely use it on the go instead of a tablet PC. Wasn’t disappointed.
USB Type C ports nice so I can do multiple things. Connect to a desktop display, high speed data transfer and charging. Found a legacy USB adapter in the box so I can keep using my supply of UBS 2.0 and 3.0 flash drives. I was also able to use a USB to SD card adapter on the supplied adapter. The charging cord was very long. Maybe 8’.
1080p display OK but it’s not as nice as 2K. Help keeps battery life to over 11 hrs. tho. Speakers are upward firing with good sound using YouTube.. Bluetooth worked fine on a Bose SoundLink Involve+ Bluetooth speaker. A corded headset worked with the 3.5mm headphone jack on YouTube.
Touchpad feels responsive which has been a sore point for me with lower price laptops. I first used the machine for approx. 45 minutes after giving it a full charge. Then closed lid and put it back on the charger. Noticed the PC was a little warm. Have heard this about one of the newer Chromebooks.
Looks a little strange because of the hinge but I’m sure I’ll get used to this. Wondering if the lid will become a fingerprint magnet like the demo model I played with @ a local Best Buy.
13.3” is the sweetspot for size IMHO.
Speedy SSD instead of HDD is the only way to go. Don’t need 1T because I live my life in the cloud.
I am aware Ubuntu is available at the Microsoft Store and might install it some day.
Backlit keyboard a good feature in dark or changing light conditions.
Gorilla Glass is suppose to be tough but I’m somewhat skeptical about this, as I have used it
before on smart phones.

Modern gorgeous display

There’s a lot to like about this desktop PC monitor. Two video inputs including HDMI and VGA. Tilt control, zero frame and fashionable, sturdy, round stand. Full HD 1080p display. 250 Nits.
Size is ideal for folks who like two monitors side by side, on their desktop.
This 23” monitor fits my small PC furniture well. Can’t use a 27” monitor because it’s too close to my face, which causes eye strain. I learned this by using 27” monitors at my local library.
Full HD 1920x1080 is an improvement over what I was using. Very sharp and pleasing to my eyes. Love the thin, glossy black, light weight, modern profile. And a wide screen is preferred for productivity tasks.
I do have to get used to such a thin profile. My old flat panel display is so thick and chunky looking. Also I wonder why Acer gives you a VGA monitor cable. Why not a HDMI one ?
I do appreciate the three year warranty. Some monitors only have a one year warranty.
Some Acer monitors are reported to have glare but this one doesn’t. Just so U know there is no direct sunlight where my two mini PC’s are. And the overhead light fixture has a diffuser cover.
Noticed that when my Remix Mini PC is asleep, the monitor says “Cable Not Connected”. After I wake the PC, the display is normal and I see my desktop screen.
So far I have connected a Remix Mini PC using HDMI to HDMI. Also currently using a HDMI to VGA video cable. On my Samsung S3 Chromebox (Celeron B840) I use a DVI to HDMI cable. All combinations work fine and add less than $15 to the cost of set up. Both mini PC’s sit on top of my PC furniture.
Acer is a brand known for value and this monitor does not disappoint.

This is only my second trackball. Haven’t used one in many years.
Things have really changed. This is a state of the art product with too many features to mention here.
This trackball can be used on Bluetooth or via a Unifying Receiver plugged into a USB port.
It can be used with two computers at the same time. U press a button to switch between them. Believe this requires installation of optional software from the Logitech website.
The battery is rechargeable via a USB port and good for four months. Charge it for only one minute to last a full day.
Please be aware that I am now using this product on an Acer R11 Chromebook. Have the Unifying Receiver plugged into a USB 2.0 port. I also paired it using Bluetooth to an Acer Iconia 10.1” Android tablet running Android 5.1 Optional software probably won’t work on Chrome OS or Android but I don’t really need it. YMMV.
Specs say Windows and Mac OSX is only supported. So now U know.
Looking forward to less hand strain and the ability to use this fine product on a smaller desktop footprint. And not worrying about battery life or having to keep spare batteries stocked.

I have a small amount of space to store a wireless router.
So this Linksys wireless router, got my attention.
Space saving design fits my needs very well. I just place it upright with the front, facing downwards.
Helps that it runs Wireless-AC for some of my devices. And it’s ready for GIG Speed internet service.
It's easy to plug in an ethernet cable into one of the LAN ports and connect the router to my Chromebox, for a fast, wired, connection.
GIG Speed doesn't seem to work on Wi-Fi at the moment.
Don’t think I will need to use the USB ports but it’s nice to have this feature, just in case, it’s needed.
Coverage in my one bedroom condo is excellent. And of course, it’s one story.
So I’m a happy camper.

Daughter opened today, Christmas morning, and this Acer R11 has same problem a few of the others have had according to reviews..., repeatedly turns off and on. Just my luck. Talk about a disappointed daughter! Geez. I'm a little upset to say the least. I hope exchange goes smoothly tomorrow, if there is another in stock that is.

I have owned two Chromebooks prior to the R11. I am familiar with the Chrome OS ecosystem, what it has to offer, and where it falls short.

BUILD QUALITY (3/5):
The build quality of the R11 is average, at best. It has a patterned aluminum cover/lid, but it doesn’t make the device feel any bit premium, and I wouldn’t count on it providing any additional protection to the display. The unit I received has misaligned hinges, which causes the device to rock a bit at certain angles—in addition to being an eyesore. That being said, I don’t feel as though it will cause any harm to the device in the long-term.

I had no issues with flipping the display 180 degrees. Typing on the keyboard was fine, but I personally felt as though the keys could have had less resistance or bit more vertical displacement. I had to press harder on these compared to other keyboards I’ve tried on Chromebooks around this price range.

The 11.6” display runs at 1366x768—resulting in 135 ppi (pixels-per-inch). Comparatively, a 13.3” display at 1920x1080 results in 165 ppi. The R11 display is adequate at this resolution—text is sharp enough to avoid complaining, and viewing images and videos is enjoyable.

That is, unless you’re trying to use it in direct sunlight. This display is quite reflective, so you won’t be using this much in direct sunlight. With a bit of shade, you’ll be fine. Indoors, the display is adequate and provides adequate brightness. The display is also quite reflective and is also a smudgy fingerprint magnet, which is why indoor use in moderate lighting conditions is ideal.
As for the touch screen, it works quite well. If anything, Chrome OS needs more refinement and more features to really utilize the touchscreen. Multi-touch worked without issue. However, modern web content isn’t really suited to touch screens, so it’s definitely a bit awkward to have a touch screen, at the moment.
PERFORMANCE (2/5):
I really can’t give this Chromebook a 3 because there are older, cheaper Chromebooks that outperform this more expensive R11. The Intel Celeron N3050 is really a bottom-bin Intel Atom, more than it is a Celeron. These fanless processors (aside from the Core M series) don’t come close to the U-series Celerons. Sure, you’ll get more battery life, but what is that worth if it’s a pain to use the device?
I really can’t give this Chromebook a 3 because there are older, cheaper Chromebooks that outperform this more expensive R11. With my bookmarks, caching, history, extensions, etc. that is associated to my Google account, this Chromebook could not handle more than a few tabs without throwing a fit. When I used Guest mode, the Chromebook performed adequately with 4 tabs—to the point where scrolling was not abysmal.
That being said, I had much better performance on a 13.3” 1080p Chromebook using the Intel Celeron N2840 and 4GB of RAM—which was the same price as the R11. Even Acer’s own C720 outperforms the R11.

The battery life on this Chromebook doesn’t quite stand up to some other contenders, but with light processor usage, it shouldn’t have any problem lasting throughout the day before needing a charge. However, the idle drain is not very good. For a fanless design, you would expect low power consumption when the device is idle, but you will want to turn the device when you aren’t using it for long periods of time—otherwise you will be saying goodbye to 10-20% of your battery.
The battery life on this Chromebook doesn’t quite stand up to some other contenders, but with light processor usage, it shouldn’t have any problem lasting throughout the day before needing a charge. Being my first Chromebook this was a brand new experience for me which made it fun to review.
Pros:
Lightweight - can use on lap without getting uncomfortable.
Good build quality - Case, hinges, keyboard felt sturdy and well built.
Pretty good battery life - not sure about the advertised 10 hours but I used in tent mode listening to music all day at work for several days (6-8 hours) and it had around 20% left.
Easy to setup - If you already have a Google account like I do all you have to do is sign in and it syncs everything up for you.
Lightweight - can use on lap without getting uncomfortable.
Good build quality - Case, hinges, keyboard felt sturdy and well built.
Pretty good battery life - not sure about the advertised 10 hours but I used in tent mode listening to music all day at work for several days (6-8 hours) and it had around 20% left.

This is a decent little 2-in-1 if you subscribe to the "cloud" OS always connected model. Great for internet surfing and light productivity work especially if you are all-in with the Google app Eco-system. Don't expect to be as productive as using a traditional laptop computer though, especially when disconnected. Soundbar is really a soundbox because it's compact. Rich sound from such a small form factor.
Sub woofer not very loud but tech support said they could replace it.
Bluetooth and casting works fine. WiFi enabled but don't need it.
Still learning all the features so may provide feedback at a later date.

Mesh Wi-Fi router can cause interference

I had installed the soundbar next to a Linksys Velop Wi-Fi Mesh Router. On Pergo flooring with 9' high ceiling in a family room.
Caused all kinds of problems.
Then moved to approx. 12' away from a TP-Link wireless N router. Problems went away.
My set up is now in the living room of my condo. There is a 20' vaulted ceiling. Sound still quite amazing.
Most of the time I used the built in Chromecast feature. Have casted from a Nexus 6 phone and a Chromebox so far. Soundbar is connected to my TV with the OPT cord provided.
Had the remote replaced. Testing it now. Can say the soundbox recognizes it.
Price is on the lower end of the Polk Home Theater line. I highly recommend it. Will always some gear like it on any TV's purchased in the future.

I was very surprised at the size of this baby when I opened the box.
It has a built in sub woofer so the bass was good. Maybe that's why it's so big
Connected my Nexus 6 to the USB port to charge it.
Connected an old iPod Touch 4th gen. and it worked too.
Battery took three hours to charge out of the box. Had to try several
times to insert the US power adapter but eventually it snapped into place.

Forgot to mention there's a blue button on the control panel, for taking a hands free, mobile phone call using this speaker.
I may not be close enough to the BT speaker to use this, but it's nice to have anyway.

This is my first Roomba. Must say it's loads of fun. Did a good job cleaning the carpet in my 724 sf one bedroom condo. I say this b/c I had to clean the dust out of the bin after using it only one time. Best to use the mobile app as U can program it to clean on certain days. Also it's easier to tell the Roomba to end the job and head back to the charging base. Roomba took almost 25 minutes to clean my carpets which seemed like a long time. And I cleared away a lot of furniture and stuff on the floor before operating it. Don't think it cleaned very well underneath my bed. Maybe it will as time goes by. Also it was a bit noisy but not much more than my upright Hoover SAVVY. At this point I need more experience with it and will not let it loose if I'm not home.

Needs time to learn about UR flooring

I ran my Roomba 890 for the third time this morning. It went straight for my bedroom bed and spent a lot of time underneath it. Must have some kind of dust sensing feature for carpeting. It did, however, spend waaay too much time in the living room. Carpets there are cleaner than other areas in my condo so don't understand the logic of it.
Will keep using it until I get it figured out.

Attach the Window Mount to Circle 2 Camera and place it on any window pane to see outdoors. Watch over the front porch and driveway or overlook the backyard from indoors.

Couldn't find any info from the OEM about why it does what it does. Maybe they think mounting the camera outside is better ?
Think I read something on a blog post about reduced glare & reflections and that's why I purchased it.
Please see a photo from the box it came in, to read the most important feature for improved night vision.

I was skeptical at first when I found this book shelf mini Hi-Fi system.
Set it up in the living room of my one bedroom condo. Have high vaulted ceiling there.
Sound quality similar to the standard, factory installed, 6 speaker stereo system, in a 2005 Toyota Prius.
Bass effect could be a bit better tho.
Have some CD’s and even audio cassettes from several years back. All played fine. System couldn’t detect my old, iPod Touch 4th Gen. I was able to play a MP3 from a USB 2.0 flash drive tho.
I used to listen to FM radio a lot. Selection of stations not too good where I live. But I can get the same content I listen to, when I’m driving.
Wish the two speakers didn’t have to use wires.
Speaker and main console fit under my TV stand. Other speaker went into my old stereo system cabinet.
Nowadays I like to stream free, Google Play Music radio stations, so can make greater daily use of this system. Pandora was also fine.
If U find this system on sale @ Best Buy for $149.99 with free shipping, U are doing pretty good IMHO.
This is a Gr8, compact sized, Hi-Fi system, for those who don’t have a lot of room to work with.
And the price won’t break the bank.

One of the main reasons I want a Tablet is so that I can download magazines and books and read them offline. How is the display quality for functions like this?
Display is IPS and will be fine for UR use. Micro SD card slot accepts up to 32 GB too.
