"The mistress of an erotic boarding house entertains her new tenant in exciting fashion. He must rise to the challenge left by her previous bondage master, and tame her insatiable lust for naughty games, domestic debauchery, and outrageous s.e.x play!"
I honestly wasn't sure what to think when I first saw this one for order. Not having heard of it before, I looked online for a bit more of the story. The box description is pretty much garbage. Watch it before you base what you think off of it.
Aside from being pretty old, I actually enjoyed this one. The English version came out back in 2004 and I really don't recommend listening to the dubbed version. The first part focuses on Keiichi's taming of Miyuki, his landlord. The second part is centered around his sister and his step-mother who is the first person he ever tamed. While it has incestuous tones here, none of them are blood-related. The animation is done quite well and is fully uncensored. There's even a good bit of comedy as well as some emotion to keep the story light. Only one thing turned me off and that was the scat element. Fantasy or not, that's something I just can't do. Luckily the scenes were pretty short.
I rarely recommend any hentai, but I will on this one. Mine said on backorder when I purchased it, but it shipped out within 2 days! Enjoy!

"A chance encounter with a girl named Sulia sets Terry Bogard in a race to prevent the reincarnation of a god! Sulia's brother Laocorn is out to collect the six shards of the Armor of Mars, which would grant him untold power if it were completed. With the power of the armor, Laocorn could turn back the tides of history and take revenge, conquering all that stands in his way. Already possessing three pieces of the armor, Sulia's brother is way ahead of Terry, and what's more, he'll have to go through Laocorn's minions, each powerful in their own right! Will he be able to defeat Laocorn and stop the rebirth of the god of war?"
Ahhhh! It's been so long since I last saw this movie! I remember renting the VHS tape of this from Block Buster. Last month marked its 20th anniversary! This release has finally made the movie into a nice, wide-screen format instead of the 4:3 aspect ratio. There's not much to add to the story that the description doesn't as it's pretty straight forward. Terry, Joe, Andy, and Mai all set off with Sulia to try to thwart her brother's gathering of the armor of Mars. The fights are all pretty brief except for the final one against Laocorn/Mars.
The animation is top-notch as you would expect from a movie for one of the biggest fighting games of the time. Solid backgrounds, cool special moves, and great looking fight sequences. As an added bonus, you even get a bit of T&A from Mai. Speaking of Mai, I noticed that the animation for her faces seemed to distort pretty often. They got the body looking great, but her face wasn't drawn the same every time. I probably should have ordered the OVAs as well, but I wasn't expecting these to be rereleased until I saw them online last week! If you love a good fighting anime, I definitely recommend this one!
This hard hitting release from the sci-fi anime series Blue Gender includes all 26 episodes of the show as well as a full-length movie, following the story of a distant future earth in which an insectoid alien race has infiltrated society, forcing humanity to be displaced to a secondary planet - where they plot to recapture their home from the creatures.

Genre: Action, Sci-Fi, Space, Mecha, Super Power, Adventure, Drama (according to Funimation). I'll add: Horror, Gore, and Romance. Length: 26 episodes + 1:38 movie
"In the year 2031, humankind was replaced as the dominant species on Earth# It is unknown how long they have existed# Some sightings date back to 2017# They are known only as the Blue# These monstrous, insect-like creatures now exert their terrible will upon the planet# As a result, the remains of the human race have fled into outer space to escape the infestation of the Blue# Suddenly awakened after 22 years in suspended animation, Yuji Kaido finds himself thrust into a nightmarish reality# Yuji soon learns the survival of the entire human race rests in his hands#"
If you watched the Adult Swim block on Cartoon Network back in the first couple years that it was running in the early 2000's, then you probably saw this series# Thinking back on it, there wasn't a TON of stuff that was edited out from then# Sure, they left out the little bit of T&A, language and some of the gore, but the bulk of the action and slaughter was there# The fact that Funimation has this listed as TV PG has me ROFLing like crazy# There isn't a single episode in here that can get away with a PG rating! Language, nudity, extreme violence, graphic content: 16 and up/M rating at least#
On to the review! Blue Gender is one of those hardcore Sci-Fi anime series which keeps you watching more and more just waiting to see what's coming next# One of the things that it does best is leaving you with a constant feeling of dread# Practically any time that the characters felt some hope about their situation, something happened and killed more of their friends# It just doesn't want you to be happy! But, it's true# The characters aren't superhumans #at least at the beginning!# and they do die# They do manage to kill a lot of Blue, but at this point, the Blue outnumber humans on Earth by at least 100 to 1 if not more# Their chances of survival are not good# Still, Yuji and Marlene manage to make it out alive each time even as their companions and friends die around them#
There really aren't a lot of negatives about Blue Gender# Personally, really don't like Yuji# He starts off as a whiny little brat who's only thinking about himself# Then he thinks about Marlene a little bit# And then he goes back to only thinking about himself again; granted he's got some extenuating circumstances at this point as well# This series came out in 1999# 15 years old = not the greatest graphics. It's still very well-made, but it's also in the old 4:3 aspect ratio so it only takes up part of the screen unless you're still using a tube TV. Also, I felt that most of the side-characters had better voicing jobs than the main characters did. Not the best English dub out there.
The only REALLY negative here is the movie, The Warrior. DO NOT WATCH IT! Way too many holes in the plot. Nothing is explained properly. There's no character build-up. The final Blue from the series is tossed into the middle and loses all of its epicness. And the ending is just plain horrible. Yeah, that's about it. On the positive, the disc with the movie does house all of the extras which are actually pretty good. I'm a huge fan of the opening song, Set Me Free, as well as the closing song, Love Taught Me. I prefer the English versions as well. Such a shame you can't get them in CD format.
Overall, I really enjoyed this series. It's definitely not for everyone as it can be very depressing and is loaded with gore; both human and Blue. Also, the guy that does the voice for Rick is also the VA for Goku! I kinda wanted to shout "Kamehameha!" at him -_-. Pick this one up, and I'm sure you'll love it!

"Louise Francoise Le Blanc de La Valliere's name is so long and her spell casting skills are so poor that everyone at the Tristain Academy of Magic just calls her "Louise the Zero". Louise's humiliation only increases during an important second year test, where the other students summon up dragons and other mythological creatures as their familiars, and she inexplicably summons Hiraga Saito, a totally normal teenager from Tokyo. Now she's stuck with him and Saito's stuck with the lousy life of being a familiar. Except, maybe there's more going on than meets the eye, because Saito's not prepared to accept the social inequities that Louise and other aristocrats consider the status quo, and he may not be quite as normal as everyone thinks. And the reason Louise is so bad at magic might just be that she hasn't figured out what she's good at yet. In fact, they might even have the makings of a great team. If they can learn to stand each other first, that is! Will familiarity breed contempt? Will combining two negatives result in a positive? The answer will be spelled out, enchantment by enchantment, in Familiar of Zero!"
The Familiar of Zero, or Zero no Tsukaima, is a series that's been around for quite a long time and this is actually its 2nd release after Sentai rescued the franchise from limbo after Geneon's license expired in 2011. This holds as its own series, but there are actually 4 seasons in total. Sadly, no one has ever licensed the 2nd and 3rd seasons in North America for physical or digital distribution. The final season is available for streaming on Crunchyroll and should hopefully get a physical release at some point in the next year or two. Try to find one of the various streaming sites out there to watch the 2nd and 3rd seasons, though. Going from the 1st to the 4th doesn't work well. Also, season 2 is arguably the best one out there.
Well, enough with the backstory! Familiar of Zero is one of those older iconic series that garnered tons of attention primarily because of its tsundere female lead, Louise. In case you don't know what that means, here's the background of tsundere: "The word is derived from the terms tsun tsun #ツンツン?#, meaning to turn away in disgust, and dere dere #デレデレ?# meaning to become 'lovey dovey'." Basically, instead of showing her true emotions/affections, she gets angry. Her favorite term for Saito seems to be Baka Inu or Stupid Dog. She's basically like a firecracker going off every minute. However, she tends to be more tsun instead of dere which leads to the creation of the harem environment where she pushes Saito away so much that he seeks out other women.
I won't really go into the plot of this one much as the story is one that is far from perfect. The characters are what really drives the story forward in my opinion. I really don't recommend watching the English version unless you just can't stand reading. It's memorable, but mainly because it's pretty horrid. Blu-ray rendering helps to boost the graphics up, but the series is originally aired in 2006 and doesn't boast the greatest attention to detail. Aside from a ballroom scene and Louise's changing into her nightgowns, I don't think the characters wore different outfits at all. Nothing special with the extras, either.
I've been a fan of this series since I first saw it two years ago. Did a marathon and watched all 50ish episodes in two days! However, that was all streaming in pretty low quality. Having a blu-ray release makes it so much better to enjoy. I encourage everyone to check out this season and see how you like it. Hopefully Sentai will rescue the other two seasons if there's enough demand!

"Makoto Ito's in his first year of high school and looking for a girlfriend. He thinks he's found the jackpot in Kotonoha Katsura, but isn't sure of how to make the approach. His classmate, the equally pretty Sekai Saionji, thinks she has the answer and offers to help bring the two together. At first, Makoto eagerly accepts, but as Sekai's offers become increasingly advanced, his feelings begin to waver - and not just in her direction. Making matters worse, all the girls professing a newfound interest in him seem to be a little bit... off.
Adapted from the hit Visual Novel and directed by Keitaro Motonaga (Jormungand, Majikoi), School Days is a suspenseful look at what happens when playing the field takes a turn for the worse. Controversial enough to require postponing broadcast in favor of a nice boat, School Days goes where most high school romances wouldn't dare!"
While this version just came out in June of 2014, School Days originally aired in 2007. Eastern Star was nice enough to relicense it for North American distribution again. I'd seen bits and pieces of this anime before and had definitely heard a ton about the ending, but I hadn't actually gotten to go through everything. I also purchased the Visual Novel that JAST remastered earlier this year and haven't been able to play through it, yet.
Based off of the original VN, School Days the anime, decides to take the path less traveled in the industry. What starts out as a high school love soon turns into a harem situation... not. Once Makoto has stuck his hand... or something else... into the cookie jars of these young ladies, he won't pull it out. That's okay because someone else might just cut it off for him! Don't come in expecting a happy ending here as this route is a Bad End!
It really helps if you don't come into this series knowing anything about it beforehand. I had a general idea of what all happens so I got a little bored in the first couple episodes as I was anticipating certain events. At first, you feel a little sorry for Kotonoha and Makoto as they're both new to love and have no real idea what to do. Makoto tends to think with the smaller of his two heads and is overly aggressive. Kotonoha is a very shy and reserved girl who doesn't know what she wants. The moments of awkardness are soon replaced with something much darker, though. Makoto's desire to get in the pants of his schoolmates jumps to a whole other level. Playing the field isn't going to net you a harem; but it will provide a fitting end for this trash.
As School Days progressed further in, I had several moments where I was just repulsed. In reality, this is something that is very plausible when you bed several women at once and tell more than one that you're dating them or in love with them. Friends with benefits might work, but not romantic interests. By the end, I felt horrible for Kotonoha with all that she had to put up with from Makoto. Won't give out any spoilers, though!
Coming from 7 years ago, there isn't a Blu-ray release for this one just yet so the visuals aren't outstanding, but it still looked nice and pretty. They got a little cheap on the animation, though. Characters faces tended to not always be drawn the same from frame to frame which I found a little odd. Happens when the staff gets rushed, though. No English dubs here as it's subtitled only. No actual Extras either. However, the Kokoro-chan OVA was pretty funny to watch. It went more ecchi/comedy than anything else. Lastly, I loved the music here. Great score throughout the series as well as multiple ending themes that I was entranced to listen to every time.
Wonderful series overall that is very different from the rest out there. It's not for the weak of heart as the emotional abuse these girls take is outrageous and it turns physical later on as well with a good bit of blood. While maybe not the entire thing, there are several episodes that I'd gladly go back and rewatch over and over again. School Days should be a part of every anime fan's collection!

For those that don't know, Muv-Luv Alternative is part of a series of Visual Novels, VN, from Japan. VNs are basically illustrated stories where you make choices throughout that determine the route/story that happens. If you don't mind reading a TON, I highly recommend trying out this game as well as the CD. It's never been released outside of Japan, so you'll have to obtain it for PC along with the English translation packs. This title has the highest rating of any visual novel ever on the Visual Novel Data Base, VNDB, out of over 15,000! Adult version does have two scenes that are omitted from the all-ages version.
As the title implies, this is the 2nd volume to Muv-Luv Alternative and features some of the more action-packed, serious, somber, and fearful tones which tend to dominate the later half of the game. Tracks 17 and 27 are the only ones which actually have lyrics/vocals. 17, Carry On, occurs in one of only 3 cutscenes from the game when the bulk of humanity's forces are launching into orbit for one last attempt to destroy the original BETA hive. I'll have to admit that I cried a bit when first hearing/watching this one. Nice, slow song that really goes well where it's placed in the story. 27 is a redo of the opening song for the original Muv-Luv/Muv-Luv Unlimited game. Much more upbeat as the original is more of a high school love game where it's ordinary Japan instead of a world on the brink of extinction. Here's a list of the tracks on this CD:
As you might be able to tell, I'm a HUGE fan of this series even if only a little bit has ever been translated into English. This CD is definitely great, and I'm glad that I bought it. I probably could have gotten it cheaper by importing it, though :/ I highly recommend picking up the soundtrack volume 1 as well. The opening theme by JAM Project is a huge favorite of mine, too! Enjoy!

If you know rock music, then you know about Queen. Even if you don't, it's hard to imagine that you haven't heard at least 1-2 of the amazing songs off of this collection. I loved every second of this album even though there were several songs that I hadn't heard before.
Greatist Hits 1 has to be the most impressive CD with songs like Bohemiam Rhapsody, Another One Bite the Dust, We Will Rock You, and We Are the Champions. II was great all around. III has my favorite tracks with Princes of the Universe and Too Much Love Will Kill You. Can't go wrong here with all 3 CDs for less than $20. And contrary to what the website lists, most stores do keep this one in store!
This high strung release from the comedy anime series Haganai: I Don't Have Many Friends includes all 13 episodes of the show, following the story of Yazora, a loud, brash high school girl who befriends a boy named Kodaka, who has a similarly bad reputation - though his is completely undeserved, and hers absolutely is.

"Yozora's an abrasive loudmouth whose only friend at school is imaginary... She knows she's difficult -- which makes her better off than Kodaka, a new transfer student who picked up an undeserved bad reputation the second he stepped on campus. Inspired by their shared status as social catastrophies, the two loners unite and start the Neighbors Club, an organization dedicated to finding other misfits and making friends. In no time, a third member joins their ranks: Sena, a pretty, popular rich girl who annoys Yozora to no end. With Kodaka in the middle of the chaos, the brash brunette and the blonde boy-magnet go round and round, even as the Neighbors Club begins to grow. Hopefully, the girls can get past their rivalry. Because sometimes the friendship you're looking for is right in front of you. And sometimes the best friends are the friends you never even wanted."
Haganai: I Don't Have Many Friends, AKA Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai, is a series that I avoided for a pretty long time. All I knew was that it was a show about people that don't have any friends and its covergirl was a big-boobed blonde girl. Just wasn't up my alley on shows that I had to watch. A 2nd season is currently airing in Japan and it's getting even more popular. I probably would have skipped over it completely except that my store got a couple copies in and I decided to purchase it.
All-in-all, the show is about a group of social outcasts that form a club together and embark on silly and stupid everyday adventures from playing games in the clubroom to going to the water park. What it lacks in action, it makes up with comedy and perversion. Sena and Yozora practically have a S&M relationship although they hate each other's guts. Kodaka is smart and a good cook but is pretty dense when it comes to people. Yukimura is a dreaded "Trap"...a guy who you would swear up and down is a girl. And Rika ia the most perverted scientist you'll ever meet. And then you have Kodaka's little sister and their 10-year old club advisor. It's a pretty diverse group of characters.
I enjoyed watching the series and would like to see how it pans out, so I plan on watching the 2nd season soon. I don't foresee it as a series that I'll go back and watch over and over, but parts of it definitely had me ROFLing. As much as I love a little T&A, they focused on the jiggling for Sena a bit too much. Detracted from the series in my opinion. Opening and closing themes were decent but not my favorites. Extras were pretty much clean songs, 2 commentaries, and lots of trailers and promos.

"To: The Neighbors Club From: Student Council Reps Re: Club Guidelines
It has come to our attention that your club -- officially formed with the goal of "making friends" -- has been taking part in questionable behaviors on campus. We'd like to remind you that none of the following are approved club activities:
*Stalking #especially taking candid photos of your peers# *Playing inappropriate video games *Watching anime involving adult themes *The creation of time machines
While we applaud your creative efforts in making a movie about intergalactic samurai robot wars, please note that the costumes do not fit our dress code. In addition, we have reports of brewing drama between Yozora and Sena regarding Kodaka -- including the fact that an engagement has taken place. Please fill out required paperwork if the chapel needs to be reserved."
Haganai Next! The continuation of The Neigbors Club and all of its antics. Season 2 continues with the jokes and gags of season 1, but ups the ante by building on the character developments and relationships. To clarify, the relationships don't really move anywhere even as the girls attempt to get Kodaka to acknowledge their romantic interests in him. The most noticeable change comes from Sena who is much more forward. I should say that about Rika, but there's no limit to how blunt she is. The truth about Yukimura finally comes out, too! We also find out that Maria has a bombshell older sister named Kate who teaches at the school as well!
I enjoyed season 2 a lot more than season 1 even if it still felt a little ungratifying in the end. Yozora is brutal in her harassment of Sena by persuading her to do the most insane things. Funny as heck when Kodaka says things out loud that he meant to say in his head especially in the first or second episode when Rika takes off her glasses. Have to watch the roller coaster scene with Rika as well. I was laughing my butt off for a while after listening to her. Rika really changes as well here. She knows that Kodaka is playing ignorant to the other girls' affections. The last episode contains a fight between the two which really gets to the heart of the series.
Graphics are still pretty good here. It felt that they pulled back on the amount of unnecessary fanservice which was nice. You still have plenty of T&A, but it didn't feel as forced. Loved the English dubs as well. The Japanese just don't get as vulgar or mean as they need to for some of the insults. Extras are pretty standard fair here, but the "Black Dragon" extra is great to watch. Roller coaster scene was one of my favorites.
I loved Haganai Next. It's a fantastic series in my opinion that really mixes some great comedy with good drama. Even if you didn't fully enjoy the first season, I think that you'll really like the second. Also, good luck ordering the limited edition off of the website. My order was auto-cancelled twice. It didn't list any stores as carrying it, but I found it down in Brentwood. If you have a store in the area that still has an anime selection, then they might still have some copies!

"When S.atan is run out of his infernal kingdom, he finds himself virtually powerless in modern-day Tokyo. Stuck in a feeble mortal body and desperate for cash, there's only one way for the dark lord to survive: by getting a job manning the deep fryer at "MgRonald"!
As S.atan flips burgers and tries to regain his evil magic, he's pestered by a righteous hero who tracked him to Earth, a video-game-loving fallen angel looking for a way back into heaven, and the most unholy of enemies: a rival fast food franchise. Will he figure out a way to reclaim his homeland and throne? And if not, will this demonic burger king at least sell enough featured menu items to be promoted to shift supervisor? The devil can't survive on minimum wage in the series Anime News Network calls "pure, unadulterated, gloriously fun entertainment."
The synopsis hits this one right on the mark! A powerless S.atan must find a way to regain his power on Earth and then decide if he wants to take over this planet or go back through the gate to his world. But first, he needs a paycheck as his frail, mortal body requires food as he unceremoniously discovers after passing out. And then people start coming from the other side in an attempt to kill him as well as the Hero. What could easily be an action/adventure is an amazingly awesome comedy!
Tons of good in this series with just a little bit of room for improvement. The sheer amount of fun that this series provides should just keep you rolling non-stop. Alciel's unwillingness to go to the doctor because it's not in the budget has to be one of the headlines here as he seems to constantly suffer from ailments. S.atan may look like someone around 20, but he's got a solid head on his shoulders and is quite smart and cunning. He seems dense at times when it comes to women, but you discover that he fully understands what's going on. Except for fighting angels in his boxers because he doesn't want to damage his uniform!
The only real part that I think could have been improved upon was the ending itself. Episode 12 should have been the ending with 13 acting as a follow-up OVA/OAV. The ending itself just didn't leave anything meaningful and was kind of meh. Was really hoping for something to tie into a 2nd season.
I loved The Devil is a Part Timer and will happily recommend it to everyone! This version/SKU is the deluxe/limited edition with the double-wide packaging. Had to compare UPCs before purchasing just to make sure. Hated the fact that the Appleseed Alpha movie got put into stores, but this amazing series didn't. Great change of pace in this series versus anything else I've seen recently. Check it out!

I try not to be a grammar-junkie, but I think "saadcitystar" is trying to say that he/she's happy with their remote programming. It sounds like he/she purchased a Harmony remote with RF (radio frequency) instead of IR (infrared) that is capable of sending signals over about a 50' range and can even go through walls, cabinets, etc...
If purchasing a remote programming by itself, the service is $99.99, but if you're having other services done as well (audio setup, wall-mounting, calibration, or networking), the service actually drops down to $59.99.
Album came out back on Tuesday and it arrived on Wednesday. Love the quick shipping here.
Hide and Seek isn't quite the same as previous albums from The Birthday Massacre. Couple of the songs have a little bit darker feeling to them, but the overall sounds took me back to music from the 80's and early 90's. Really loving it.
Wouldn't really say that there's any songs that just jump out at you, but it actually works out good for this CD. Really enjoying every single song so I can just keep the entire thing going on repeat. Would be nice to have a killer hit like "Blue" or "Red Stars" thrown in, but the whole thing more than makes up for it.
There's also a Vinyl version available as well, but you'll have to order that through other means if you want it. Definitely recommend this one to any fans.
Have to update this as I've had this CD going for the past month in my car. Truely great CD. Very little pops out because all of the songs are so good. Should have given this one 5 stars.
This release from the chilling anime series Gunslinger Girl includes all 13 episodes of the show's first season, following the girls of the Social Welfare Agency, who appear from the outside to be orphaned schoolgirls, but are actually trained to be cold blooded killers. Extras with the release include voice director commentary, textless songs, and more.

Killer girls from...
ByDvalfromClarksville, TN
Genre: Action
"Officially, the social Welfare Agency is a government sponsored corporation that's in the business of saving lives. At least, that's the ruse. In reality, it's an agency on the fringe of technology. They give terminal patients another shot at life using cybernetic implants. This conditioning process then shapes the patient into an effiecient machine for handling all of the goverment's dirty work. They've been given a second change at life, but at what cost?"
Basic plot: Little girls that were about to die have been given a second shot at life, but in return they're basically assassins for the government. The first season here doesn't really do much more than give us a character intro for 6 different girls. The story takes place in Italy which is a huge change of pace for most anime. Plot only got an average score because of the lack of one thus far.
Cinematography: The graphics are very visually appealing. Seeing everything out in the Mediteranean is a good change from the streets of Japan. The character designs themselves aren't very well done, though. They're really kind of normal. However, there's a ton of detail put into the outfits, guns, and scenery. Found it kind of odd, but the Blu-ray version is definitely nice and crisp. No jagged edges around the faces like on DVD versions.
Acting: Loved the English voice-acting and didn't touch the original Japanese. Kind of want to just to hear they're versions of each girl.
Extras: Non-existent. Not a single trailer, commentary, or even a textless opening or ending. Bare bones.
As the first reviewer posted, the story is a little disturbing. If you can get around little girls being used as military dolls, then the action is quite nice and I really enjoyed it. Just not the best series out there. Should definitely pick it up if you like anime, though.
Completely forgot about the extras on disc 2. There are actually quite a few. The voice-actor commentaries about their own characters are really enjoyable. Would bump the Extras up to 4 stars, but it wouldn't change the overall rating.
This mind-bending release from the psych-horror anime series Deadman Wonderland includes all 12 episodes of the show, following the story of a high school boy who is unjustly jailed for the murder of his class in a prison system that fits him with a collar constantly injecting him with poison. The poison can be neutralized if he can take regular doses of the antidote often enough, though these can only be obtained through prison work.

Supernatural prison
ByDvalfromClarksville, TN
Genre: Supernatural, Action, Drama Length: 12 episodes + OVA
"Ganta is the only survivor after a mysterious man in red slaughters a classroom full of teenagers. He's framed for the carnage, sentenced to die, and locked away in the most twisted prison ever built: Deadman Wonderland. And then it gets worse.
At Deadman Wonderland, convicts are forced into brutal deathmatches for the amusement of the masses, the cheers of the crowd drowning out the screams of the dismembered. Even when Ganta befriends Shiro, an unusual female inmate, his dark fate crushes all hope – until he discovers the strange ability to wield his spilled blood as a weapon. Ganta learns his new skill might be related to the murderous man in red and uncovers disturbing secrets that could expose those who stole his freedom. He's determined to see justice served – but first he'll have to fight for his life in a prison that holds a million ways to die."
Deadman Wonderland is a decent series that gained attention in America after Cartoon Network aired it on the Toonami animation block when it was reincarnated back in 2012. I caught the first 2 episodes, but never got around to watching the rest. The series is filled to the brim with blood, gore, and action. The English dialogue is pretty racy as well. It does an excellent job with the shock factor. You just know someone is about to die, but it can be a little hard to predict how it's going to happen. Sadly, the series is quite rushed and a ton of knowledge is never made known. There also isn't really a true ending. Red Man remains a mystery, sort of. What relation does Shiro and Ganta have? Don't want to spoil any of the ending, but it pops up just as many questions and doesn't really answer anything. It leave tons of room for a 2nd season, but I haven't seen anything in the works, yet.
I enjoyed the series overall even with the rushed ending and lingering questions. My brother was also a fan and admitted that he was a little confused with the entire thing. This is a great value on a pretty good series. Pick it up!

Not what I was looking for, much better
BykakkyfromHouston
Came in looking for a new portable radio. Salesman guided me to a blue-tooth speaker to connect to my phone instead. Can also use this with my MP3. Works much better than the radio would have and great sound. Helpful salesman did a bit of technology training to help me get it set up.
This set serves up every episode of the anime series Coppelion.

Great anime!
ByACEACEfromCORONA
Picture and cgi excellent. Story excellent. But I gave it 3 stars because the sound is pcm only. That means stereo not 5.1 dolby digital much less DTS. Why they don't spend the money on the sound affect on Bluray is completely troubling.
It'd be great to have more titles with full 5.1 or 7.1 dolby digital sound, but it's pretty rare outside of the big movies. Really long answer so I'll just paste the response from the animenewsnetwork for you.
Audio is important, and many fans are becoming more and more concerned with making sure that they're getting the best quality audio possible when they fork over the money for a shiny disc of their favorite show. But with so many different formats, which one is best? Which ones should you be asking for? Sometimes the difference is negligible or non-existant, other times it makes a huge difference.
Let's start with the easy one: why some shows have 5.1 mixes for the dub, but not for the original Japanese. I've answered previously on this column that most TV anime doesn't bother with anything more than a stereo (2.0) mix because the Japanese broadcast standard doesn't really support 5.1 audio, and given how big home theater systems aren't as common in Japan for a number of reasons, they generally don't bother remixing for 5.1 when it comes time to release the discs on home video. However, when making the dub, an American publisher might think 5.1 is worth the extra work. If they're already set up to do 5.1, the audio has to be remixed anyway, so it is an opportunity to have a nice added feature for dub fans.
5.1 mixes require special equipment, take a lot more time, and are harder to check for errors (and requires a lot more office space to do so), so it's often not practical to do 5.1 mixes for everything. They can also cost more money. The decision to make a 5.1 mix is made on a show-by-show basis, based on whether the Japanese is 5.1 (usually just movies and some high-end OAVs) and how much the show is predicted to sell.
As for what format in which they're stored on a disc, these days you generally see 4 different kinds of audio tracks: • Linear PCM (Completely uncompressed, basically just a WAV file. Takes up a lot of space, especially in 5.1.) • Dolby Digital (AC3) (Lower quality, like an MP3, but takes up a lot less space. Supported by DVD and Blu-ray.) • Dolby TrueHD (Blu-ray only. The full quality of the WAV file, but compressed to a more manageable size. Still much bigger than AC3, however.) • DTS Master Audio (Blu-ray only. For the end user, pretty much identical to Dolby TrueHD.)
When you make a DVD or Blu-ray, you are tasked with squeezing a lot of data onto a finite amount of space, so compression can be very important. Wasting too much bandwidth on audio means you might have to sacrifice video quality. The above compression formats are essential ways to get the most quality out of an audio track without having an unwieldy amount of data to contend with.
Audio quality obsessives swear that Dolby Digital AC3 audio has a lot of distortion and they can DEFINITELY tell a difference. I am skeptical. I've definitely heard bad AC3 encodes that definitely affected audio quality, particularly in very early DVDs, but there has never been a double-blind study that shows even audio experts can tell a difference at higher bitrates (and quite a few proving that nobody can tell at all). At any event, the presence of "lossless" audio (in either LPCM, DTS-MA or Dolby TrueHD) has become an important marketing bullet point for Blu-ray discs, so whether people can REALLY tell the difference or it's all a placebo effect, who am I to argue.
