This HP Omen is the ideal gaming PC for someone who does not want to take the time and custom design their own. With factory specs that rival many custom end PCs right out of the box, and at a very affordable price for the high end components included, this HP Omen is a great option for anyone who is interested in PC Gaming.
The computer is loaded with minimal 'bloatware', and the 1TB hard drive offers plenty of room for game installations. When tested running Battlefield 4, a game that requires a high end PC to function, it performed flawlessly with all the settings set to "Ultra" quality (screenshot included). In many other games tested, the computer ran the games at the highest quality at a smooth 60 frames per second. Outside of gaming, the PC is also extraordinarily fast and offers a great experience with no freezing up, as one should expect with a PC as high end as this.
As for the unique features of this Omen product itself, it includes a neat lightbar on the front that can be programmed by the user to change according to CPU Temperature, Usage, or just a random color sequence.
Overall, this computer is an absolutely great choice for anyone interested in buying a high end gaming PC directly from a reputable manufacturer without having to worry about custom builds, part compatability, etc. It is a great choice all around at an affordable price point.

If you are reading this, you might be wondering if this vacuum is worth it. I do the same thing, and for a large purchase, I do even more research. Knowing this, I'll give you the info you will want to know, to make an informed decision.
Dyson products are not cheap junky products. Dyson makes the best of the best, and they are the products others try to emulate, and fail.
The differences between this and the V6 Animal, are many. And I think they are significant enough to warrant spending the extra money.
The most important features of this are (1) a long battery run time, (2) a much more thorough and effective cleaning of the dust cup and dust screen when emptying the dirt/dust, (3) a larger motor with more suction, (4) a hepa filter, (5) the motorized attachments.
This is worth the money, and I work vacuums really hard, with a big hairy dog that sheds all day and all night. It has plenty of run time to do a decent cleaning without worrying about running out of battery.
The motorized floor attachment and the motorized smaller upholstery tool keeps getting up hair and dirt, but without getting hair wrapped around the attachment. It is some kind of a carbon fiber material - this is great, not always removing hair from the roller in the attachment. But, if you do have to clean it, it is easy.
Dyson has made significant improvements to this model, vs. the V6 animal unit. It has a 2 way dust brush, crevice tool, powered floor tool, powered upholstery tool, and a long run battery. The HEPA filter means alot if you own dogs or cats, to prevent dust and dander from making its way back into the air.
A big wish for this would be a headlight, so you can see what you are missing when you are vacuuming. Other than that, I can say that there is really nothing I'd change or hope for that isn't already built into this model.
Do note this takes 5 hours to charge, at the most, but also runs alot longer than the V6 animal - worth it to be able to keep cleaning and frankly no issue because you will have been able to clean so well you won't need it again for awhile, thus the 5 hours is no biggie.
As with any Dyson product, it comes well packaged and boxed, and the unit provides a very nice user experience; not a single technical issue and no problems that I can see with this. I don't expect there will be any, but if there are, it does have a 2 year warranty.
Thanks Dyson, for a well engineered product, I'm hoping this lasts as long as I think it will, based on my initial observations.

BRAVO! A new twist on laser presentation pointers

This is a way to rope in those who drift off during presentations. I can say I've never seen anything like this before. It allows you to advance your slides, yes. But it also allows you to do multiple functions with the forward and back buttons - for example, press it normal to go forward, but then press and hold to go fast forward, or blank the screen, etc. You choose in the setup which you want to do.
The real magic behind this device is the ability to do a spotlight for your presentation....think about those big spotlights you see in the sky during a new store opening, and think about doing that for your presentation. You press and hold, to highlight the area you want someone to see, OR you can program it to do other functions - like magnification of an on screen area, or simply to circle something. I have to admit the circle function isn't great, and I've turned that off. But I do plan to use the other two - spotlight and magnify.
You can also set a timer, with a warning at a certain time, then when your presentation time is up.
I used this with a MAC using the latest version of OS. I also connected to my MAC with bluetooth, but you can also use an included dongle that plugs into your USB port. And the unit comes with a power charging cable which you'll need, because it is a long reach to the charging port that is located under the removable dongle used to connect via USB vs. bluetooth.
It comes with a great little carry pouch, and and is in a nice retail box, suitable as a gift box for someone.
The literature states the charge can last for up to 3 months, though I'll charge it much more often so as not to wreck myself during a presentation if it were to run out of battery.
This is the best thing to happen to presentations in years....I love this thing!

This is my 4th corded Shark vacuum. So I must tell you I'm a fan of Shark vacuum products. I know they work, and they work well.
I like this model because it is lighter in weight that the other Shark vacs I have, and that is a real plus. I had bought a battery Shark vac to use in between the big Shark vac cleanings because it is so heavy and cumbersome to use. This solves that problem. Of note, this is a lift away vac, but the power head does not remain active or attached during this lift away event; you are removing the canister and wand, whereas the powered head stays behind. This is unlike any of the other Shark vacs I own. This is both good, and possibly not as good, depending upon your needs. My downstairs vac is going to be replaced by this one because of this reason - I have all hardwoods and tile downstairs, so I don't need a powered head version. This unit gives you a great hardwood floor attachment to use directly onto the wand. You lift away the canister and leave behind the power head and that is perfect for my application. This allows me to get into places I could not get into with a powered head in use. It would not be as good if you were trying to use the power head to clean carpet and use the lift away feature, which I've done frequently. But, I will say, using this for hardwoods, without using a lift away feature, is much easier because it is lighter in weight. So, I find myself using the powerhead and not in lift away mode, because it is not so heavy to maneuver.
Okay, the suction isn't quite as great as previous Shark vacs....I get it, the smaller motor results in less suction, and the smaller motor means less weight, and this is good for me. I will say however, the suction is plenty for our very long haired, constantly shedding dog hair, dust, and dander that plagues our house. The dust/dirt canister is always showing me that no matter how good a job I do cleaning, the dog is always shedding.
There is a hepa filter, foam filter, and a pre-filter, along with a dust screen inside of the tank, all of which work great to prevent dust and dirt from leaving the vacuum. And the best part? You can wash all of this out easily, let it all dry, and it is like having a new vacuum. The dust/dirt tank is easy to remove and empty, very easy. The new feature I see is a great access door to the beater brush, making it very easy to remove hair from the roller brush.
There are LED lights on the power head, this is good. There aren't LED lights on the wand, nor on the handle, which I really wish it had. In particular when using the wand, in lift away mode, with the hardwood floor tool, the LED light would aid in seeing where the dirt/hair is located. This is a departure from their high end version.
There is no power switch on the handle, which is also a departure from their high end vacuum, and I wish it had this feature. Going from hardwoods, to area rugs, while doing the downstairs vacuuming, reaching down to the switch on the tank for beater bar vs. not, vs. on/off, is frustrating when you know there is another way to make this happen. Not a deal breaker, just a bit frustrating.
Look, every Shark vac I have owned, and own today, is an amazing vacuum. I've been through many over the years until I got a Shark. From that point forward, nothing has ever been as good, or lasted, like a Shark vac. They have many models and many ways of using the lift off feature, so this model may work for you, or it may not. If you need a lighter weight Shark, with the ability to lift off and do a hard floor with a hard floor tool, while being able to contain all the allergens inside of the tank and filters, this will work great for you.
This also comes with a crevice tool, an upholstery tool, a hardwood floor tool, and a place to dock 2 of the 3 accessories on the unit. This is most appreciated.
Really, the only thing I would have wanted, was a light on the wand and handle, to give this a 5 star review. It is a solid vac, all Shark vacs are solid and the fact that no allergens leak into the air while you vacuum means you'll have a cleaner environment (I have air quality monitors in my house that can tell me the amount of particulate matter - while using the Shark, the particulate matter count does not go up, proving to me they aren't leaking allergens). I will say using a competitive product that promised to be good for allergy sufferers, made that particulate matter count go up, and I could smell "dog" smell coming from the vacuum exhaust air.
Best Buy has a great return policy, and stands behind every product they sell. Shark does too. This vacuum comes with a no charge 5 year warranty, which is also important, although I've never used their warranty as their vacuums just continue to work without fail.

I've tested, used, and owned many routers over the years, and I'll say this is the best one I've used to date. I had some setup issues, but do realize this was during a pre-release testing phase, and those issues seem to have been resolved as setup now works as it should. The setup of these units is very simple, step by step.
The units are tall and have a small footprint, which is much appreciated. Gone are the days of need to have a large flat router box taking up 1/2 the desk. They are white, and have a decent look to them. I am not afraid to let them sit out in view, as they look like a cool electronic device, not a traditional router with antennas and such; there are no visible antennas on these units.
These are programmed via the app, available for free. You create an account, and it walks you through the setup. Plug in the unit, connect to your router, and in a few minutes, it will confirm you are good to go. Then, you can add a "node" (or repeater as I would call it) to extend your network out further using only an AC outlet vs. having to run a network cable - the main unit plugs into your router with a network cable, but the additional nodes simply plug into an ac outlet. You add the nodes to extend your network, and the advertising says 3 units go out to a 6000 sq. ft. home, and I would not doubt this to be true even though I've been using this in a much smaller townhouse. I was getting signal throughout my 1500 sq. ft. townhouse, albeit not great, with a single unit. Once I added the 2nd node, the signal went very well throughout the entire house, and out into the street. Adding the 3rd node made this go way out past the house.
Each of the nodes has two gigabit jacks; for the main unit you plug into the modem, one of those is used to plug into the modem, but for all the other nodes, you can use both of them to plug in devices and make them a wired connection, like for a gaming computer, or something without WIFI.
During my testing, I found my FIOS service that delivers 80 Mbps up and down, and that the router is delivering this speed consistently, no matter how far away from the main unit. I can tell you that the example shown on the package, about how other units slow down as you move out to the further nodes, has happened to me. This Velop system seems to be the same speed, no matter which repeater that seems to be nearest.
Note that this is a tri-band radio router as well, and you don't have to pick which frequency you want to be on; it will connect automatically based on your device's capability. The system also auto scans the channels to find the best choice given your environment and other things that might be interfering with the WIFI signal.
This is a decent WIFI solution, probably for most people. It showed well at the CES show and has proven itself to me as worthy of the hype. Often times the hype doesn't live up to the product, but in this case, it does.
The app has some built in cool features, like you can see all of the nodes, a speed test, guest access feature, parental controls, a way to prioritize 3 devices, can get notifications if the units fall off of the network, etc. All of this is just icing on a really nice cake!
BestBuy has a great return policy, has great support, and knowledgable staff who can help you with your decision to give this a try. Other choices for a mesh network are somewhat limited, but it seems that Linksys has a handle on this and is providing a great solution.

This battery pack is an amazing product, I was so happy when I got this, because I’ve had the need for such a thing for awhile now. I got my Apple Watch when they first launched, and to this day there are still times when I look at my watch and it is at 10% battery, even though I charge it all night. Typically this is while I’m at work, with no charger around. And I’ve had times when my phone needs a boost, and I cannot stay tethered to an outlet. All of this is exactly why this is an ideal product.
So, after unboxing this, I found it was at only 1 charge light, so I plugged it into a charger with the provided cable, and started charging it up. It was charged within 2 hours. I sat my Apple watch on it, and that was at about 50%, and within about 20 minutes it had jumped to 77%. While my watch was charging, I grabbed my lightning cable and plugged in my Iphone 6s PLUS, and it went from about 80% to 100% in about 45 minutes. This is a great charging speed, in particular because it was charging the watch at the same time.
When both were done charging, the battery pack still showed 4 full dots of battery life. Plus, when I plugged it in and was going to charge it up again, it was still full and didn’t need to charge. The charge lights are in the power button, so you can see how much charge your battery pack has left in it. The power switch is solid, very well built, with a sense of firmness not often found in these types of devices. The build quality of the battery pack is quite impressive. It has a mostly aluminum body, with a built in Apple Watch charger, and then plastic on the top and bottom. It looks sharp, feels solid, and is small enough to put in your computer bag (what I do), pants pocket, or even your purse/bag. To be honest, based on the mAH rating, I expected very little, but walk away being better performance than from other battery packs that are rated with a higher mAH rating.
It has an auto on function, that when it senses you have plugged in your phone, it comes to life and starts charging. This is a great feature. Same happened when I put my watch on top of the built in Apple Watch charger. Very nice feature, smart design.
You should know that this only comes with a micro-usb cable, but no charger. No worries, because you likely already have a charger laying around that can be used to charge up this pack. Also, it does not come with a lightning cable, you will need to supply your own. Since it is designed for an Apple Watch, you likely already are using an Iphone, so the micro-USB cable it comes with won’t help with charging your phone. These cables are plentiful these days and you probably have a couple of extra laying around anyway.
Everyone should have a battery pack like this with them all the time. You never know when something will happen and you won’t have an outlet nearby. I’ve had to take a family member to the hospital, and was in the ER with no charger. If I had a battery pack like this, I could charge while keeping others updated on things without worrying about running out of power. Or I’ve been in meetings at work, when I could not plug into the wall outlet and charge, but if I had this I could charge during the meeting. I’ve also had times when I’ve been in a rental car, with no charger in the car, but if I had this, I could have charged. There are just so many times when something like this can come in handy, and if you have it nearby, you can get charged and not stress about running out of juice.
Great product, and so far, I’m more than impressed.

We have passed this around the household members, to see if we could get consensus. Seems that everyone loves this hair dryer.
Okay, yes it is expensive. But, there are lots of things you should think about. The time you spend drying your hair each day, is normally time you never get back. This shaves minutes off of your hair drying time; if 15 minutes normally, plan for maybe 10 minutes. I don't know about you, but 5 minutes a day is something to consider.
Also, as for money, as we get older, we are many times in a position to get gifts for people they may not be able to afford until later in life. This hair dryer provides a great way to make someone feel special, given the price and name brand, plus the performance of this hair dryer.
The unit is balanced, quiet, stays cool to the touch, and does a great job of drying hair. The typical hair dryer just blasts you with too much heat until you turn it to cool, then back to heat. This does a great job of doing hair drying but without over drying or being too hot.
Dyson also planned it or designed it to make sure hair doesn't get sucked into the air intake as there is no screen over the motor blades.
The accessories are well thought out, and magnetic, so they attach without being too tight or easily fall off. Most times with standard hair dryers, if you get any attachments, they stick on as they heat and expand. This is not the case with the Dyson. And you can remove them or move them, without burning your fingers. Also, these are useful accessories.
You also get an ingenious non-slip mat. I have been frustrated for years with the hair dryer slipping off the bathroom sink; this solves that issue.
I'm not sold on the hook, but I would not use it anyway, so a non-issue.
If you wanted to, you could take this on travel too, it isn't as big and bulky, although many hotels now provide a hair dryer, you have to look and see if the screen is dirty or not....sort of like using a hotel pillow. But this gives you an option for travel, simply by putting it in your bag.
Now that you know all of the details, you can see that maybe it is something for you, or for someone special in your life. I know that in my house, everyone was impressed and agreed that it was worth it.

Way more than a single device for grooming

I was skeptical, because so often it seems there are specialty products for each need - hair clippers, razor, nose hair trimmer, scruffy beard trimmer, and body hair clipper. This does all of these things in one unit.
The unit claims a 60 minute run time between charges, and I don't know about that just yet, but it has been through a haircut, neck trim, and some other things, and that is way more than the 10 minutes I got out of my other razor.
The best part is that for the hair/scruffy beard trimmer, the adapters are a single adapter that you slide and lock into place for the differing lengths of hair. That is so cool because normally you have 12 different adapters, of which you only use 1 or 2, and the others just take up space and fall all over the place. With this, you slide in the hair clipper, click it into the length slot you want, and you are good to go!
There is a turbo mode, for those times when you might have let your hair get a little longer, which ramps up the motor speed to help you get through these challenge areas.
And it comes with a nice storage bag to keep all the parts and unit in, including the charger. This helps keep you organized and to take on travel as well. Nothing worse than being on travel and having to worry about finding a barber shop. This solves that problem.
It is a nice unit, and hope it lasts as long as I can imagine needing and using it. Seems sturdy enough to make this happen.

Excellent, lots of features at a great price point

For the market this is designed for, this is an excellent value. This is not meant to be a $2000 laptop, however, it includes features that are not the norm for this price point either.
Starting with the aluminum chassis, it has a strong solid feel, without being too thin and not cheesy. It isn't a fully aluminum chassis, the bottom is plastic. But it doesn't feel cheap. And it doesn't squeak and move, as is the case with lesser quality laptops. I can live with this tradeoff, in particular because a fully aluminum chassis would be heavier, and hotter.
The screen is a full HD screen, and it has a decent rendering of images. In fact, it is hard to believe I wasn't looking at a $2000 computer screen, given the rich colors, the clarity, etc.
That same screen then converts into a huge tablet screen simply by folding it back over. You can also just put it in tent mode, display mode for presentations, or back to using as a tablet. This screen also has VERY strong and heavy duty hinges, that give you a soft gentle close.....we've all had laptops whose lids slam shut, this is not that laptop!
As for the horsepower part, it is an Intel Core i7, 7th generation processor. This is not common in laptops at this price. It has 12GB of RAM, 2GB of video memory. And it does have Nvida GEFORCE 940mx graphics with 2GB of DDR3 memory. This makes this a good gaming machine, in addition to a great workhorse of a laptop. It comes with a huge 1TB hard drive, something you won't find as standard in many laptops today. It isn't SSD, but I'd rather have the larger space from a tried and true hard drive technology.
There is a backlit keyboard, a numbers keypad, and a really decent trackpad. Frankly, the touchpad is a very important part of a laptop, and this touchpad exceeds my expectations. The only oddity is that like many other laptops that have a numbers keypad, the trackpad is placed more to the left than I'm used to, and after a short time, it feels normal.
There are stereo speakers, with a full Dolby Audio equalizer, and they are loud and clear...I really like the speakers on this, along with the Dobly equalizer. No external speakers are needed for anytime I've been using this computer. Music, movies, and simple sounds, sound really good....frankly, better than I could have expected.
There is no num lock or caps lock lights, and I know these are mostly gone from most computers today, but I do miss them. Acer was thinking smart when they decided to put a large icon on the screen that flashes up as you toggle those items on and off, showing the status as you toggle it. Smart! I still miss my lights, but this eases the pain a lot.
So, there is a lot more I could mention like the USB 3.1 reversible type "c" connector, or the 8 hour battery life, or even that it is Skype certified for business. There are USB ports, an HDMI port, even a SD card slot, all things that the most expensive laptops are dropping....thankfully Acer has not done that. Having ports available for things we all have in our briefcases now is important; we don't want to have to carry dongles to use those devices we own, and we don't want to simply toss them aside because they don't have a port on a new laptop for them.
You've probably been reading this long enough, you really should try it for yourself. BestBuy has an awesome return policy if you find it isn't for you, and they have a great display in the store, however you really have to work with this computer to understand how great it is.
I've included a couple of pictures with my review, which are photos of what I was watching on this laptop (on Netflix) and thought the pictures of the screen were more important than of the computer, because the screen alone would make this a worthwhile purchase!

A great device for all things, nothing bad so far

I received this recently and have been playing with it non-stop, trying to understand everything there is about the Google Pixel phone.
So far, I'm impressed. I have not found anything at all that I would change. The first impression is of the packaging. Very high end, and well laid out. You don't drop it when you open the box. Once you get the phone out of the box you realize this is no cheap Android phone you may have been used to seeing/using before. This is a great build and quality phone, just like the high end phone that seems to dominate the high end phone market. As for the feel, this has about 2/3 metal on the back, then glass for the rest, leading up to and past the fingerprint reader that is on the back of the phone.
This phone has Gorilla Glass 4, nothing less than durable. And the screen has an amazing look, crisp, rich colors, reminds me of my wife's OLED TV screen; colors that pop out at you vs. just colors.
The phone uses a USB-C charger, and one of the best features is the speed at which this can charge. The ad on TV promises 70% charge in 15 minutes, and I don't know about all that. But I do know that within an hour I was able to go from about 40% to 100%. And I think the lower the battery is, the faster it charges.
As for what you can do with the battery, I turned the screen brightness all of the way up, locked it on, and streamed Pandora for about 9 hours, and the battery was still at 30%. My current phone would last maybe a couple of hours doing the same, so this is saying something. The battery and charging on this phone are the biggest strengths of this phone. To know you can get charged back up quickly is what is really important, in fact that is the most sought after thing in a smartphone today. And it seems someone has finally listened.
As you can imagine, this is a very fast phone, fast page loads, no skipping, apps run smooth and clean, speed test for internet shows it taking full advantage of the high speeds available on WIFI, but also on LTE.
Now, the easter egg. You can use this with AT&T, Tmobile, or Verizon. They seem to come unlocked, if you buy the full price version and not the Verizon on contract version. So, you can slip in your SIM card from these three, and the phone will work. I'm so elated that no matter which of three providers I use, the phone will work. Not having to scrap it going from GSM to CDMA is such a relief.
The more time I spend with this phone, the more I'm impressed. Having spent a few years away from Android, I realize the world of Android has changed. More importantly, the phone hardware makes this a complete package; Android alone wasn't enough to lure me in, but the hardware, coupled with the new version of Android, is.
The phone comes with a headphone jack, a sore spot with some on competitive phones. This is a great plan. The USB-C charger is also a great plan, given that USB-C is the new standard.
You will not be disappointed with this phone. The operating system seems solid, and customizable, with a solid piece of hardware. I worked this thing, streaming music, playing games, screen turned up, and it never even got warm.
The camera works as advertised, taking great photos, rendering great color, detail, etc. I have no disappointments. You can also stream 4K videos on this phone, should you wish.
And if you are one who actually uses your phone to make phone calls, you will be happy because the call quality is amazing - and the WIFI calling feature does not disappoint either.
Again, nothing I can say negative about this phone, it was well thought out, works great, and can only say thanks to Google for putting out such a nice phone. Android has come a long way, and this hardware is the best thing I've used for quite some time.

I got this camera for keeping an eye on my parents, they are older and at risk for falling and other issues, this camera has already paid for itself ten times over! Not only does it give you a sense of security, it also gives my parents a peace of mind known that they are not alone and are being watched, unfortunately my father has fallen twice in the time I bought this camera, it allowed me to see him on the floor and I was able to race home to help him up, if it wasn't for the camera who knows how long he would have been laying there. The picture is not perfect but more than good enough, I actually leave it in Night Vision mode and the picture is great, also the microphone is impressively good. You are able to rotate the camera via your smart phone or computer, it's a little slow but over all I have no complaints. Well worth the money, I went out and bought 2 more for the rest of the house, the smart phone app is very easy to use, set up was a little bit of a pain, I'd say 1 hour but again, not bad. Honestly the best thing I have bought in years and I buy a lot.

Is this a self-propelled vacuum? Is there a Bissell that is?
Not self propelled but is easy to maneuver because it has such a strong beater bar that kind of pulls it along. Bissell does not make a self propelled model that I am aware of.

This has a single cylindrical filter that is not washable. You can however, vacuum the exterior of the filter, to increase longevity of the filter.

Can you disable audio recording for these?
You can turn that feature off, but can also turn on the privacy shield to turn off video and audio by using an actual physical filter. Or you can simply turn off the mic function and nothing will be recorded. You can keep the speaker function, in case you want to say something, but turn off the mic function so your conversations won't be overheard.

How do I look up past recordings on the camera
In the app, you can go to the recorded library of images. If you don't have any, I'd ask if you set up any of the rules to get this to record. If not, you have to set up the things ou want to do and when, to get it to record. This is somewhat easier said than done, but it is better than it used to be. Contact tech support for help if needed.

On the Arlo Essential, can the IR be turned off? I’d like to position it behind glass.
Yes, you simply turn off the "night vision" option in video settings. See the pic below that shows the option and where it is.

How do I connect my indoor camera into my camera base I already have
In the app, you simply do "add camera" and go through the instructions. Easy peasy. Takes about 30 seconds to add.

I'm sure it can be, it can be used on any hard or carpeted surface. It has a unique roller bar that is neither too hard or too soft, and should work just fine.

Would the mop attachment work on the previous CordZero model?
I'm confident they are interchangeable. As long as the connector looks the same, it'll work with it.

Can i use old a9 by attached A9 wet mop unit
I'm sure you can, as long as it is the same connection. The mop unit just swirls the cloth pads around and drips water out so it can be a kind of wet dust mop. It uses the power from the wand to do it. But it does not vacuum up anything, when in this mode.
