Great camera, but with a major flaw.
on November 18, 2023

The Arlo Essential 2K Second Generation outdoor Camera provides a great picture, but it's biggest caveat is the mount that comes with it.
Pros:
- Clear Picture
- Quick notifications
- Settings for camera
Cons:
- installation
- Mounting hardware
After finally setting up the Essential 2K and mounting it, I was able to set it up in the Arlo App. I set my video to the best video available (2K setting), and adjusted the speaker settings, along with the activity zones (I would suggest creating an activity zone to help minimize false motion notifications and to keep your battery alive longer).
After a couple of motion tests (me walking into the activity zone I set up) I can say that I received a two second delay receiving a notification. I do have over 1gb of Internet speed. However, compared to cameras I have used in the past, receiving notifications was quick.
Again, settings for the Arlo Essential 2K Second Generation camera are robust; there are a lot of options I appreciate. One of which is adjusting the low light settings (ideal for color night vision). I would suggest adjusting the low light settings by one degree up as the picture (in my area and where I installed the camera) was "just right" (the default settings were too dark for my liking). One of my favorite features, again, is the color night vision. You can switch it back to regular night vision as well (or turn this function off). Again, it might be a better idea to leave this on depending on where you install the camera and the lighting available for the camera's field of view.
Unfortunately, the installation and mounting hardware are terrible. The first generation camera included a track ball adjustable mount. Which was easier to use and adjust your camera. However, Arlo updated their new camera mount for the second generation essential camera and it's terrible. Yes, the previous trackball system may slouch over time (and you may have to readjust it). The new system does not have a trackball. Instead, you will need to install a separate base (remember to keep that arrow pointed up) and use a phillips head screwdriver to attach the mount to the back of the camera. Again, keep the arrow pointed up (both the base and the mount need their arrows pointed up to install and connect correctly). Unfortunately, when I went to set up the camera and install it in my preferred area of need, I had to untighten the mount and attempt to swivel the mount in order to adjust. The previous trackball system was simple (turn a knob, move the camera, and tighten the knob to keep your adjustment). The new system is cumbersome because you still, somehow, need to keep the arrows pointed up and it's almost impossible to set up the camera in a preferred position to record. All I can say is, Arlo, go back to the drawing board and redesign the mounting system again because it's awful.
Ultimately, the Arlo 2K Second Generation Essential camera provides a great picture, along with several recording options and settings (in the Arlo app). However, where the camera fails is the mounting hardware. I did not think it was possible to make it worse than the last hardware, but Arlo somehow did.

Leave your worries at the door with cutting-edge clarity and powerful protection with the Arlo Pro 5S 2K. Installation is easier than ever with a wire-free setup. Plus, the camera's smart Wi-Fi with dual-band connection automatically connects to either the 2.4 or 5 GHz network, whichever is stronger, for faster video loading and less buffering. See details that matter with 2K HDR video that’s twice the resolution of HD cameras, 12x zoom to make out details like faces or license plates, and a wide 160° field of view to see the bigger picture. Never miss a detail with clearer video, even at night, with color night vision and enhanced low light video with an advanced image sensor. You can also spend less time charging and more time protecting with additional rechargeable batteries and a dual battery charging station.³ Your cameras will also always stay secured with the included anti-theft mounts, and you can send a message that you’re protected with the included yard sign. The Pro 5S 2K is also built to work with the Arlo Home Security System, providing enhanced battery life, a more robust connection with Arlo SecureLink, and image verification when power or Wi-Fi is down.¹ Get smarter notifications on your phone when the Pro 5S 2K spots people, vehicles, animals, or packages, and view live or recorded video clips directly from your phone with a free trial of Arlo Secure service included.² Personalize your notifications and create custom activity zones to ensure you only get alerts for what matters most, reducing less important notifications.

Great Picture on the Pro 5S
on September 29, 2023
Posted by: Veganrichy
The all-new Arlo Pro 5S 2K wireless camera delivers a sharp, detailed picture with a 160-degree view, and the newly updated app allows you to set specific settings that should help with the camera's overall functionality.
Pros:
Setup
Alerts
Resolution/Video Quality
Updated App for (more) Features
Cons:
Stand
Alerts within the app
Out of the box, the Arlo Pro 5S 2K was easy to set up. I plugged the camera in to charge (for an hour) to get a full charge. Since I already own the Arlo app and Home Station, it was easy to pair/sync up the camera to my already home network. The app literally walks you through the entire process. If you do not own the app, you will need to download the Arlo Home app from the Play or Apple store. Although you do not necessarily need the Home Station (which allows you to insert a memory card for local video storage), you can subscribe to cloud storage, which, for five cameras, its $12.99 a month for up to thirty-days of captured recordings (you can save these recordings as well so they do not automatically delete).
What I enjoyed with the new Arlo Pro 5S 2K camera is setting up the alert settings. With the new app, I am able to configure the sensitivity levels of motion detection, as well as set activity zones for specific recording areas. I found this to be an improvement over the old Arlo Home app because other cameras I have owned were picking up too much in the recordings, and ultimately, their battery died quicker. Additionally, newer settings allow the user to select Color (new) or Black and Whie night vision. Still, you are able to set up the volume level for the microphone, as well as audio sensitivity settings.
Video quality for the Arlo Pro 5S 2K is incredible. I found, especially at night, the video quality to be clear on the "Best video" settings. Keep in mind that if you select a battery saver or "optimized," etc., the quality is not as good, and I believe the resolution suffers. Also, the newer 160 degree view provides a wider lens to capture moments even further than before. Additionally, the quality of the picture was clear, precise, and with HDR, colors were vibrant.
Again, the updated app allows you to take control of the camera settings further than before. The new home screen within the app allows you to set up widgets (quick access) to your cameras, as well as "arming" routines (more on this in a moment). Additionally, when set up correctly and with a paid subscription, you can set up emergency services (if you detect something suspicious, you can select "call emergency").
One of the issues I had with the app was the stand that comes with it. Over time, if you are removing the camera to charge it, the threading and ball movement (although great when setting up the camera initially) can become loose/stripped over time, and your camera will eventually tip or lower on its own. I wish Arlo built a better stand for this purpose (especially because it is outdoors), or they went back to their magnetic bases.
Two, although not entirely related to the camera itself, one of the settings within the app may or may not give you alerts. I found out (from an Arlo agent) that specific "armed" settings may cause the cameras to not send notifications/record events. For instance, if the app is set to "standby" nothing will record. In "arm home" mode, only some movement is recorded. Finally, "Arm away," will record all events that take place around your recording areas. When setting up, be advised that your cameras may not record unless the armed feature is set a certain way.
Overall, the Arlo Pro 5S 2K provides a clear picture during the day and night. The app has several new features to get the most out of the Pro 5S 2K, and setup was easy.

A Direct Drive Force!
on August 29, 2023
Posted by: Veganrichy
The Technics SL-1500 C Semi-automatic direct drive turntable with a built-in phono preamp provides an elegant look with a bright sound. The option to either use the onboard preamplifier or plug it into an external preamplifier makes it an easy choice for audiophiles.
Pros:
Preamplifier
Automatic Tonearm (when it works)
Smooth play
Cons:
Auxiliary weight (not needed)
Automatic Tonearm (when it does not work)
Included Cartridge
After set up and a (most) exhausting process of balancing the tonearm, I listened to some vinyl. However, I will admit that the setup was a breeze. For my setup, I took advantage of the built-in phono preamp (unfortunately, my external preamp was not working). I connected the provided RCA cables directly to my Marantz amplifier, and my listening stage includes the Martin Logan Motion XT F100 speakers. The built-in phono preamp was a lifesaver, but it did not draw away from the sound that the SL-1500 C provides. The option of having both for audiophiles is workable for any environment.
After balancing and setting up the tonearm, I immediately played one of my favorite go-to vinyl, Boston (self-titled). The sound was bright, enduring, and simple. I sensed that the bass was not as prevalent compared to my other record player/cartridge. However, I did sense more clarity and response from the included Ortofon 2M Red cartridge. When side one of the record finished playing, the automatic tonearm did not lift (at first, but more on that later). The SL-1500 C features an automatic tonearm "lift" when it detects the end of the groove from the record. I did inspect the rear side of the SL-1500 C to make sure I had the "automatic lift" option selected (I did). Also, raising the height of the tonearm was a little difficult too. You have to unlock and lift while holding the tonearm up, or the arm will slide back down. What I recommend doing is carefully wedging the tonearm up (carefully), and holding onto it while locking it. This was a little cumbersome, but I achieved the height adjustment I needed for balancing.
I carefully lifted the tonearm off the record and placed it back on the cradle. The anti-skating adjustment was set to 1.5; I bumped it up to 2 and readjusted the tonearm height/weight again. I played side one again and noticed that the tonearm did lift after the end of the record playing. Next, I placed ACDC's Highway to Hell on the player and played the entirety of side one (to double-check that the tonearm lifted automatically). Successfully, the tonearm lifted automatically at the end of side one. I believe my minor adjustment helped. However, if you plan on picking up the SL-1500 C, you may have to play around with the anti-skating and weight further to take advantage of the automatic lift.
I was enthralled by the direct drive motor of the SL-1500 C because the performance was smooth and precise. My vinyl (even older mono records) played accurately while maintaining clarity and sound. Overall, I did not experience any vibrations, skipping, or noise vibrating from the SL-1500 C.
Though the directions stated that the included auxiliary weight is needed during installation, it is not required to play vinyl. Users do not necessarily need to add it to the tonearm for additional balancing. Installing the weight itself is enough to play vinyl. As I stated previously, I had to play around with the anti-skating further and readjust the weight of the tonearm to take advantage of the automatic lift function. While exhausting at first, testing out this feature (when it worked) was essential. Without having to run back to the SL-1500 C to lift the tonearm and flip the record over, I felt at ease knowing that the automatic function worked as intended (again, after playing around with it).
Lastly, the SL-1500 C includes an Ortofon 2M Red cartridge. Although I felt that what I was listening to was brighter, richer, and certainly cleaner I expected a little more balance out of the sound. I swapped cartridges, and I noticed a subtle change in sound. I did experience a little more bass during the swap and sound test. The Ortofon 2M Red cartridge is solid, but there are better cartridges out there that provide a more balanced (dare I say more precise bass) tone.
Overall, the Technics SL-1500 C Semi-automatic direct drive turntable features a beautiful body, automatic tonearm lift functionality, and quiet/rich sound. The included phono preamplifier and the option to use your own provide options for audiophiles. Technics' strong suit with the SL-1500 C is the direct drive motor, design, and functionality of the turntable. With patience and (some) perseverance, the SL-1500 C is a remarkable turntable on the market.

The Dell XPS 9530 is a Sound, Multitasking Machine
on June 14, 2023
Posted by: Veganrichy
The Dell XPS 9530 offers a large screen, plenty of storage with a 1TB hard drive, and Excellent Graphics featuring the GeForce RTX 4050. However, some things make this laptop not as great as it can be.
PROS:
- Premium Chassis/Build
- Fast Processor
- Storage Capacity
- Graphics
- Battery Life
- Sound
CONS:
- Overheats
- Sleep mode is finicky
- Lack of Touch-Screen and Camera
- USB
The Dell XPS 9530 features a premium aluminum build. The laptop is not too heavy, but not heavy enough that you cannot hold it in your lap to take notes or watch videos. The keyboard is comfortable to use, along with the D-pad; clicking and moving the cursor is comfortable and easy to use. Additionally, the chassis is easy to open, and surprisingly, I was happy to see that upon opening it up that you can expand the memory from 16 GB of memory to 32 GB of memory.
Speaking of memory, the Dell XPS 9530 includes 16 GB of memory, along with a 13th generation Core i7 Evo Processor for multitasking without the lag. I specficially tested out the performance by running Spotify, along with Photoshop (editing photos I downloaded from my Microsoft OneDrive account). Additionally, I had multiple tabs opened in Firefox. I did not experience any lag while I switched back and forth between programs, browser tabs, and music. Also, the 1TB of included storage is plenty, especially if your photos, videos, and files are backed up in the cloud via Google or Microsoft. However, If you edit photos/videos or plays PC games, you will be happy with the storage capacity. More so, I installed various games (including Skyrim) to test the graphics and processing speeds.
I tested the game Skyrim with the GeForce RXT 4050 graphics card, and I have mixed feelings. First, the graphics card is capable of performing with PC games. I felt the visuals were stunning, but I experienced a keyboard that heated up and the PC fans turning on (a bit noisy) about twenty minutes into my gaming session. However, when I watched YouTube videos and streamed Netflix, I did not experience the keyboard heating up or the PC fans trying to cool down the laptop. Again, I was not disappointed because this is a decent 40-watt capable graphics card, but there are better out there.
Next, the battery life was exceptional with the XPS 9530. On a full charge, I used the laptop for eleven hours before I received a notification to plug-in the laptop. I did turn the brightness down on the XPS 9530 to sixty percent, and I still had exceptional performance from the battery and display. The display is bright and vivid with beautiful colors, including deep blacks and rich tones. Lastly, the integrated speakers were loud; bass and treble levels can be adjusted for a richer unique sound. Music sounded incredible through the speakers, whereas dialogue in the movies I streamed was clear and concise.
However, there are some cons that I need to address. One of those is the overheating I experienced when playing PC games. Oddly, the keyboard was warm to the touch (not hot), and I experienced the cooling fans reacting and trying to cool down the XPS 9530. Additionally, I felt the performance suffered as well, as I experienced a bit of lag from the game I played. Again, if you multitask (at minimum), you may not experience any issues. Gaming, on the other hand, the XPS 9530 (over time) did not perform.
Now, when I was listening to music through Spotify, I shut the laptop and walked away from it. When I walked up to use the XPS 9530 again, I could still hear music playing, and the screen was still active (or on). In my previous experience, shutting the laptop activates "sleep mode." I attempted to do the same thing again, and the music stopped playing/the monitor turned off. I am not sure if Dell will address this later on with an update, but it is a strange occurrence.
Although not entirely a deal-breaker, I expect a laptop of this magnitude to include a touch-screen. Unfortunately, the XPS 9530 does not have a touch-screen functionality. Additionally, the web cam on the front is only 720p. I was a bit surprised because when I went in to change the settings, that was the maxium setting I could adjust. Again, I expect a laptop with these capabilities to include a better camera and touch-screen functionality. Lastly, the XPS 9530 includes an SD card slot and three USB-C (two thunder ports) for charging and plugging in external devices. However, a USB-A port is not integrated in the laptop; Dell did include an adapter with an HDMI and USB-A port. I would have rather have seen both integrated into the chassis and design.
The Dell XPS 9530 is an excellent laptop with incredible storage capacities, excellent sound and graphics, a solid processor with quick response and enough memory to help with multitasking. The concerns with the laptop are the overheating issues I experienced and the odd sleep mode function when I close the lid on the laptop. I would have liked to see a better webcam and a touch screen included in the future of this laptop line. Overall, the XPS 9530 is an excellent laptop for work functionality, listening to music, streaming, and minimal gaming.

Just Plug It In!
on June 6, 2023
Posted by: Veganrichy
The Rexing 78-watt vehicle Charger is an excellent choice for charging your USB-C-capable phones.
Pros:
Fast Charging
Easy to Use and Plug-in
USB-C Cable
The Rexing 78-watt vehicle charger is quick. Once you remove it from the packaging and plug it into your car, all you need to do is plug the USB-C cable into the charger and phone. I was impressed by how fast the charger is. I own a Samsng Galaxy Note twenty-two Plus Ultra, and the highest speeds that my phone charges is forty watts. Once I plugged my phone into the Rexing 78-watt charger, my phone alerted me that I was plugged in via "super fast charging" with a given time frame for my phone to be one hundred percent fully charged.
I was impressed by how quickly my phone charged, even while driving and listening to music/navigation on my phone through my car. The Rexing car charger was reminiscent of the physical wall charger I use at home in relation to the charging speeds. Finally, a car charger worth using. In the past, I have used a previous car charger only to have it fail and not charge as fast. At approximately eighty percent battery life remaining, my phone charged to one hundred percent in ten minutes (without music or navigation running on my phone). While music and navigation were on, I recorded fifteen minutes to a full-charge, which is still fast even with multiple applications on my phone running in the background.
The Rexing USB-C cable and car charger are easy to use, plug in, and use inside the vehicle. I did not experience any issues with the physical car charger sticking to the vehicle "lighter" port; the car charger installed without me applying force (I have experienced car chargers in the past that were difficult to install in the "lighter port" in a car). Additionally, a double-sided USB-C cable is included with the car charger. However, to use the second available USB port (not a USB-C port) on the car charger, you need to purchase a USB cable separately to take advantage of dual charging. Lastly, a blue LED light (located on the base of the charger) will light up when the car charger is successfully installed in the "lighter port."
The Rexing 78-Watt Vehicle Charger is an excellent choice for charging your USB-C capable phones. Though my phone is a year-old Samsung model, I found the charging capabilities to be as quick as I have ever seen with my phone. I do not doubt that newer Samsung Model phones will take full-advantage of the 78-Watt charging capabilities.
For anyone looking for that perfect and convenient car charger, the Rexing is a must to own.

The Bespoke Jet is That and More!
on May 19, 2023
Posted by: Veganrichy
The new Samsung Bespoke Cordless Stick Vacuum is the newest stick vacuum by Samsung, which includes a clean station for convenience.
Pros:
Powerful
Battery Life Meter (and Charging)
Great on floors and most rugs
Cons:
Cleaning Station
High-Pile Area Rugs
Accessories
First, the Samsung Bespoke Cordless Stick Vacuum is powerful. The Bespoke includes three different vacuuming modes including: Low, Min, Max, and Jet. Whichever vacuum mode you choose, I found that vacuum to perform exceptionally well, especially with pet hair and dust. The buttons are conveniently located at the top of the wand, with a simple plus and minus button to select which vacuuming mode you want to choose. Additionally, the power button is located on here as well. More so, the "Max" mode on the vacuum I found to be the perfect setting. Max mode also gave me a nineteen minute window for vacuuming my 1,300 sq ft house on one entire charge (with some battery life left). The "Jet mode" was powerful, but battery life was less than eight minutes, which is not necessarily warranted. Cleaning was smooth, and the stick expands to fit the height and comfort of whoever uses the vacuum. More so, while I was vacuuming Max mode, I did not have vacuum in the same spot to collect debris on the floor. The Bespoke was capable of recovering dander, hair, and dust with ease and precision.
The Bespoke includes an LCD screen that displays the charging percentage (while placed on the stand), as well as the "countdown" meter of how much time you have left vacuuming. Additionally, when you use the plus or minus buttons, the LCD display tells you what vacuuming mode you chose. The box only included the charging stand and not an additional charger however. To charge the vacuum when you are finished vacuuming, you will need to install the vacuum (upright) onto the cleaning stand. After using the vacuum for fifteen to twenty minutes, charging time was relatively short for a full charge (less than two hours). Depending on which mode you choose and how much of the battery life is left, charging times may vary.
The Bespoke performed exceptionally well on hardwood floors. I did not encounter issues while picking up hair, dust, and debris. However, depending on the size of your area rug, the vacuum did not perform well (more on this later). Additionally, tile floors were easy and smooth to vacuum; I had to use the "Jet" mode to pick up hair on the tile floor of my bathroom (in Max mode, hair was not picking up well). More so, low pile area rugs did not give me issues either. However, with the included attachment tools (a brush and a telescoping plastic wand), hair was removed on our couch (better) on "Jet" mode. The standard wand tool was useful, because it includes a telescoping option to expand it so you can vacuum in difficult to reach spaces.
However, the cleaning station itself is a bit cumbersome if you have tight spaces to store a vacuum (such as a pantry or closet). The stand is large and heavy. Although the cleaning station includes a power button that allows you to suck out the debris vacuumed into a bag compartment (built into the stand), the bag compartment was not useful. If you remember, some vacuums used to have disposable bags that you would open and remove the full-bag. In this case, the same goes with the stand; as you remove the bag dust and debris kick back into your face. Other stick vacuums I have used have an eject button to eject debris directly into a garbage can (which is easier). Lastly, the cleaning station left some debris inside the charging unit. When you press the button to suction out debris from the vacuum, some debris inside the vacuum did not (fuzz) get sucked into the bag chamber. When you remove the vacuum from the charging stad, the trap door for the debris will remain open until you close it. I made the mistake of vacuuming, and the trap door of the dust compartment was open (lesson learned).
While vacuuming a high-pile shag rug in my son's bedroom, the Bespoke had difficulty vacuuming. More specifically, the LCD screen read, "clog in the vacuum." I checked and removed the head from the wand to make sure there were no clogs (there were none). I continuously vacuumed the high-pile shag rug, and the vacuum gave me the same notice. I changed the settings from low to jet and experienced the same issue. Lastly, some accessories (listed in the directions) were not included in the box, such as an additional battery and an accessories stand. Although not a deal breaker, Samsung stated that some models do not contain all the accessories. The accessories stand would have helped, but now the wand and brush tools sit on the floor beside the cleaning stand.
The Samsung Bespoke Jet Vacuum offers a variety of cleaning modes, along with a comfortable and powerful clean. Battery life and charging is exceptional, even though the stand can be cumbersome to those who do not have large enough space to store it. Even with issues of vacuuming high-pile shag area rugs that I experienced and the bag of debris, the Bespoke is an excellent stick vacuum choice.

The Bookshelf Speaker to Beat!
on March 12, 2023
Posted by: Veganrichy
The new Martin Logan Motion XT B100, Bookshelf speakers are the absolute bookshelf speakers to beat.
If you are looking for a performing speaker without sacrificing space (or have minimal space, to begin with), these are the bookshelf speakers to grab. The B100s feature a new, Gen2 Folded Motion XT Tweeter and Nomax-reinforced Kevlar woofer.
Setup:
I disconnected my Motion XT F100 speakers and directly connected each B100 speaker via banana plugs. Please note I did not bi-wire or bi-amp these speakers. However, the B100s are plugged into an external amplifier for further amplification. Since the B100s are rated at a 4ohm impedance, it is recommended (not required) to connect them to an external amplifier to get the best performance.
I towed them in slightly (towards my listening position), and I setup my Marantz receiver to test them via 2-channel listening in stereo mode.
Additionally, after I exited 2-channel listening, I reconfigured my Marantz receiver and exited 2-channel listening mode. Then, I changed my settings back for my personal use.
Sound Test:
For the first test, I listened to Boston's self-titled record. I could not believe how clear the vocals were, but how good the range was for this specific setup. With a 1.25" x 2.4" Obsidian folded Motion XT tweeter, the waveguide profile delivered crisp sound at multiple seating positions (I was also approximately nine feet away).
The bass was precise yet punchy enough to where it did not drown out the vocals, thanks to the Nomex-Reinforced Kevlar Mod-bass.
Next, I changed my settings back and removed the 2-channel listening mode. Then, I reverted to my original settings for film and music via the Marantz receiver. I tested one film in particular (Dune), which features heavy dialogue and enough action sequences to distinguish between vocals and effects.
I was pleasantly surprised by how clear the dialogue was in various scenes of conversation, but when the film's peak in vocals-to-action took place, the B100s performed exceptionally, without loss of clarity. My findings were that vocals were not drowned out by the action sequences/effects; the B100s were able to distinguish between both, even at high volumes (I listened comfortably at -20 DB and -15 DB).
Overall, the Martin Logan Motion XT B100 Bookshelf Speakers are the best bookshelf speakers I have heard. They are elegant yet designed to provide the user with various ways of listening, from music to films.
I would recommend the B100s for anyone who wants to upgrade their current setup, whether someone who lacks space or wants to upgrade in place of floor speakers. The B100s are sure to impress.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A Center Speaker You Can Hear!
on March 9, 2023
Posted by: Veganrichy
The all-new and redesigned Martin Logan XT C100 center speaker provides detailed, realistic, and precise vocals, along with clear dialogue in any film/music I have heard.
Setup:
The C100 is unique in which the user can either place the speaker one way or flip it upside down. The difference is, depending on the user, the option for sound is unparallel to other center speakers. The idea that I could flip the cabinet over to have sound hit my ears in my listening area without the use of risers is a plus. Since I have a lower shelf/cabinet, flipping the C100 over and directing the sound up was a no-brainer. Included were rubber feet you could stick to the bottom of the speaker (I chose to stick only two rubber feet to the front of the speaker to angle it even more).
Additionally, there are four binding posts to bi-wire or bi-amp the C100; I chose to use only two binding posts while I connected it to my powered amplifier.
Sound:
I first tested 4K films that were heavy in dialogue and tone. One film in particular, Dune, features heavy use of dialogue throughout the film. With the improved Nomex Reinforced Kevlar Midrange, combined with the Gen2 Obsidian FMT XT, I could not believe how much clearer the dialogue was, as well as how accurate without distortion or clipping.
More so, the Waveguide profile on the 1.25" x 2.4" tweeter provided excellent sound when I listened to (Dune) at higher volumes (-15 DB). Additionally, I was seated approximately ten feet from the C100 from my listening position, and I did not experience any loss of sound. No matter where I sat in my listening position, the vocals were clear and on point with the film(s) I watched.
Lastly, the C100 features an elegant, modern design, and the cabinet is short enough to fit on any surface.
The C100 is rated at 5 ohms, so the use of a dedicated power amplifier is ideal (though not required). I found that tone and clarity were unmatched compared to other center speakers I have owned. Overall, the C100, paired with the rest of the Martin Logan XT Motion series of speakers (I am pointing to the F100s or F200s), will deliver the best quality, full-sound rich with clarity and precise audio. Martin Logan has literally rejuvenated a Motion series that will make audiophiles and cinephiles happy.

These speakers can sing!

The Martin Logan Motion XT F100 series floor speakers were not just reinvented from the motion line, but rather, they were brought back from the dead in a new, powerful speaker that audiophiles and cinema fans can get behind.
The F100s have an updated Gen2 Folded tweeter, which produces a wavelengh of sound that provides a clear, concise sound, followed by a midrange which reduces reduction to provide the best clarity for music, films, and television listening.
Setup:
The setup was easy; each floor speaker had to be tipped (upside down) to install the new and improved feet. Regarding the new and improved feet, Martin Logan gives users the option to us spikes (for carpeting) or rubber feet (for hardwood flooring). Additionally, the feet can be leveled on your floor without the use of tools (granted, you will need to install the feet on the bottom with a provided allen wrench key). All the user needs to do is twist the feet to level them. Also, the feet include anti-vibration technology to reduce floor vibrations.
After installing the feet, I carefully tipped them up-right) and placed them into my listening position (approximately 10 feet from the speaker placement). Additionally, I have the F100s towed into my seating position for approximate sound.
It is recommended to provide these speakers with a powered amplifier; they are 4ohm rated, which means they will require some power to give you the absolute best sound possible. I chose to plug them into a dedicated powered amplifier that provides 400 watts per channel at two channels driven.
Note: I did not bi-wire or bi-amp the F100s.
Sound test:
Martin Logan suggests breaking these speakers in for seventy-two hours before you raise some hairs with these. Considerably, my first test was Boston's self-titled album via a 180 gram vinyl.
Immediately, the track "More than a feeling" began, and I could not believe how incredible the F100s sounded. With a rated 31 hz - 25khz frequency response and a paired up twelve inch subwoofer I could distinguish the highs and lows while listening. With crystal clear vocals and instruments, the subwoofer took care of the LFE signals, while the bass was not muddy but rather precise and punchy. The crossover frequency rating of 280hz provides a clear, productive bass that does not drown out the high frequency driver, providing a clearer distinguished sound. Additionally, while sitting at my listening position, I have to hand it to Martin Logan for providing us with a 1.25" x 2.4" tweeter. No matter where I sat on my couch (whether it was, centered, left or right), I heard everything accurately and precisely, thanks to their waveguide technology. Additionally, the F100s include three 6.5" subwoofers, that do not drown out the tweeter/midrange by any means. Also, note that the F100s are bottom ported, so the sound fires down rather than back (like some speakers I have owned in the past). Users with limited space do not have to worry about being "too close to their wall" when placing the F100s around their room.
Next, I went to one of my "go-to" films for audio demonstration on the F100s. I chose to watch Blade Runner 2049 in 4K. More specifically, I played several scenes to hear how the F100s lined up with the front-stage sound and playback. I was not disappointed when a "spinner" hovered on screen, or the specifics of the dialogue between characters, paired with background effects through the F100s; everything was as clear, consistent, and distinguished as it was while playing music without a trace of audio clipping. All of this is possible with Martin Logan's Nomex Reinforced Kevlar Midrange, which is paired up with the Gen2 FM XT; vocals are better than ever (as well as background effects); sound accuracy is on-point at all volumes (I comfortably listened at -15 db).
The F100s are sleek qnd modernized. The F100s are covered with beautiful speaker grilles. The only con I saw with the F100s were the removable grill plates; they hook into the aluminum housing on the speakers. I would like to have seen a magnetic removable cover for a premium speaker, but that is literally all I can find that I dislike about these speakers.
Simply put, the Martin Logan Motion XT F100 floor speakers are the best I have heard. Quite frankly, the F100s are in a class of their own and will compete with other higher-end brand floor speakers.
The updated tweeter design paired with the mid range provides the cleanest, concise vocals and effects in any film and music I have heard. The F100s are elegant, classy, and dare I say, the perfect speaker for home theater enthusiasts and audiophiles.
Bravo, Martin Logan (:: slow clap::)

A close, comfortable shave.
on February 7, 2023

The Philips Norelco 7600 shaver is an excellent shaver, that provides a close, comfortable shave. With an included trimmer and cleaning pod, this is a great introductory electric razor.
Pros
- Close Shave
- Trimmer
- Cleaning Pod
Cons
- Motion Control Sensor
The Philips Norelco 7600 is a comfortable shave. Taken out of the box, it took approximately one hour to charge fully. While dry shaving, the shaver's 360° contour heads provide a comfortable shave. Though, it did take longer for me to shave to get smooth skin, this did not cause any skin irritation.
Next, the included trimmer (built-in) to the shaver is excellent. I found that trimming a 3-day beard was precise and it did not pull at the hair on my face. The trimmer was fast and consistent; trimming my beard and sideburns was simple and effective. Again, I did not experience any pulling or uncomfortable trimming with this razor.
Additionally, the 7600 includes a cleaning pod. Although not needed (because you can shave either in wet conditions, or clean the razor with water), the pod includes a cleaning solution that cleans well and smells good. Simply place the razor upside down (blades down) after each use, and press the power button to allow the 1 minute cleaning time to take place. I will say this, make sure to replace the cleaning pod solution every month or so, it gets dirty quickly and the solution starts to evaporate. Again, it is not necessary to use it, it's just an added feature to a great razor.
Unfortunately, one of the features, The Motion Control Sensor, is supposed to guide you while shaving for "better technique and less passes." However, the feature is located on the LCD display on the razor and it's not noticable while shaving (your hand blocks it). Unless you connect to the app and shave, it's a pointless feature.
Overall, the Philips Norelco 7600 shaver is an excellent introductory shaver. It provides a smooth, comfortable shave, and the trimmer attachment is excellent in trimming beards, and around sideburns.

OK..but...
By Veganrichy from Elk Grove Village, Illinois
A lot of fun with the watch, initially. I enjoy the interface, and the step tracker seems to be a lot better than the one on my Charge HR. Had to fool around with my Note 5 to get the notifications to work. If you get multiple texts, you will not be able to read them per se. You may only see one text at a time, as it comes in. Bad news though, and I am rating this a 3, is because I've had this product for no more than 6 hours, and already the home button popped off the device (button on the left side of the screen).
I now have to go back to the store and return it, or get an exchange. Not sure how you are supposed to be active with this watch if the buttons pop off of it. No idea how it happened, either, I just went for a run; this is quite frustrating. Otherwise, I would have given it a solid 4 or 5 so far for the use. Furthermore, I'd like to compliment the 4 optional watch clock faces you can change via the app.

*** Watch Update ***
March 11, 2016
After a 25 minute ride in the suburbs to the nearest Best Buy that had a replacement for my watch, I am happy to say that the watch has been a success so far.
There are still some sync issues with texts coming in; I sometimes do not receive texts, but that could be based on my range near the device. Also, if anyone has a Galaxy Note 5, you will not be able to slide your finger on the device when someone is calling in to "accept," or "reject" the call. Based on Fitbit's support site, the Galaxy Note 5 is not supported -- yet -- for this feature. However, if this is not a "make or break" deal for you, then the watch would be just fine. I can still see who is calling me on the watch, which is fine. If I wanted to do the above aforementioned feature, I would have bought a gear s2 watch, instead.
Another issue I have is, if you want to buy another band for the watch, it will cost you $100 for either a Leather or Chain link watch. To me, that's a bit of robbery. Likewise, be careful if you do purchase another watch band, taking the little piece of screen out of it's housing shell is a pain in the toosh. I am serious; even when you go to charge the Fitbit Blaze, you have to pop the sucker out of the housing unit in order to place it into a cradle to charge. This to me is the WORST feature on this watch. I assume that is why one of my buttons popped off the watch, already.

Strike a perfect balance between study time and play time with Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE, the tablet designed to bring your projects to life.

Can the storage capacity be expanded

It contains up to 128 GB of storage. However, you can add additional storage (up to 1TB) with a Micro SD card. Depending on how many photos you take, songs you download, and notes, it is not a terrible idea to purchase a micro SD card to install on the tablet to expand your storage.

I have an OLD Samsung Tab S, 16 GB. How hard is it to transfer data from an old tablet to this new one?

As long as you have Smart switch installed, you should be able to transfer your old files to this one.

The Shark Cordless Pet Plus Vacuum with Anti-Allergen Complete Seal combines powerful suction with cordless convenience to deliver deep cleaning on all floor types. Its lightweight design and removable hand vac allow for cleaning from floor to ceiling.

Will this vacuum lay flat to clean under beds, furniture etc. ?

Hi there,

It "can" to some level, but because the actual headpiece of this gets in the way, you can only get so far underneath a bed where it cannot reach anymore. I will say that it does pick up any dust that settled under furniture well. Also, you can remove the long wand, and attach it to the accessories that come with it by itself, thus making it easier to get into small spaces.

Arlo Secure includes cloud recordings of video clips at 2K or lower resolution for 30 days. I currently have the Arlo Pro 2 with 5 cameras and want just one more. Can I use the PRO 4 as a sTANDalone hooked directly to Wi FI and do I have to purchase a SMART PLAN TO USE IT?

You will need to purchase the plan if you want it to record for you. If you do not, then your camera is a brick at this point, and will only be useful for viewing "live" feeds. The plan will allow you to record, and receive alerts.

Yes, but I would suggest checking your internet, and bandwidth connection at home to make sure you can have this many cameras connected to your home network. I have two cameras in two different locations so far, and I am not experiencing any issues.

Get immersed in high-fidelity audio with this Sonance 8-inch in-ceiling speaker. This Sonance 8-inch in-ceiling speaker is easy to install and includes a paintable grille that blends into surrounding decor.

How many watts are these speakers?

Hi Don!

These speakers are 150 watts, per channel. Ideally, you want a receiver that can output, at the very least, 100 watts (or more) per channel to get the full-range of these.

Do the 8" speakers have an enclosure accessory for improvement of base quality?

Hi Deb!

No, they do not. However, Sonance offers fireboxes for these, as well as a way to insulate them better. Another idea is to take insulation and place it around the speakers, as to keep sound from resonating to other rooms in your home (that is at least one idea, although not necessary). I have a smaller home, and I cannot hear the speakers in the rooms from the MAG8Rs. However, my home theater system is loud as it is, so there is that.
