A pleasant surprise

I have more than a few choices laying around the house when I go looking for Bluetooth wireless earbuds. When the opportunity came up to try this Senneiser model I decided the brand name alone made them worth a listen. Right out of the box i was pleased by how painless the pairing process was for this product. The voice in my ears (with a British accent) let me know what was going on and in barely two seconds i was up and running. This may not sound like much but compared to other products I’ve tried it’s a huge win. Then I got to listen and the pleasant surprises continued. Audio is clear, full range, and louder than most wireless earbuds I’ve used in the past. The carrying case holds a charge of its own, making things easier for trips where you don’t want to have to travel with a bunch of chargers.
All in all I can say these live up to the Sennheiser name and are worth picking up if you want an alternative to the most popular models with a focus on sound quality and ease of use.

Always what I need

Belkin has been my go to brand for accessories in a variety of categories over the years but power and charging is a category where I purchase from them pretty much exclusively. This product was exactly what I needed it to be right out of the box. One pleasant surprise is that it came with a lightning cable, meaning it can easily serve as the charger that lives in my travel bag and i not have to remember to move cords around from cars or computers. The charging power with the latest iPhone 11 Pro was pretty quick, as I left my phone plugged in for what felt like a short time and I was nearly full after a heavy work day of usage. I recommend this package to anyone who needs a fast charging solution to carry with them or at home.

Level up your cleaning game with the mophie UV sanitizer with wireless charging. Kill 99.99% of the most common surface bacteria on your phone in 5 minutes and keep your battery out of the red with just one device.* The UV-C bulbs keep germs, including the most common surface bacteria, at bay no matter your phone size or brand. Best of all, the mophie UV sanitizer with wireless charging kills bacteria on all the hardest to reach surfaces without heat, liquid, or chemicals that could damage your device. And it’s completely quiet. Bacteria isn’t safe on other items either. Toss your keys, remote control, or earbuds into the mophie UV sanitizer for a quick clean up. Clean phone but low on battery? Just place your Qi enabled smartphone on the wireless charging surface and charging begins on contact all while you’re sanitizing a second device.

Easy to use

This is one of those products where it either works or it doesn’t. The wireless charging functionality (while your phone is on the lid) works very well with my iPhone. The basin of the device was large enough to hold my car key fobs, phone, and other small items. It’s a one touch effort - push the button once the lid is closed and wait for the tone that tells you the cycle is complete.
Knowing that our phones are magnets for germs, this device is a great way of building some peace of mind and easy enough to use that it becomes a regular part of your routine.

Hits the spot! All the spots!

As someone who rides 20-25 miles a day on their Peloton I am always trying to find products that enhance performance and aid in recovery. It’s no secret that these “massage gun” devices have become quite the popular thing in the past year or two and I have been really excited to get one for myself.
Let me just say this now - this product is absolutely worth whatever you spend on it. Period. Hands down. Especially if you are fitness focused.
Setup of the device is easy - download the app, pair via Bluetooth, connect to your Health app if you’re an iOS user, and off you go.
The benefit of making that last connection is significant. The device learns how you exercise and then makes specific recommendations for routines that you should be doing. These routines can be as short as a couple minutes and as long as 20, with multiple focus areas incorporated. They are supported via the different massage head attachments and videos allow you to see what you should be doing and where. It also can automatically control the intensity for you, taking all of the guesswork out of maximizing your results.
The device itself is simple - power switch and speed button. The interchangeable heads come off easily and come with a storage bag to keep them all together.
Now for the best part ... since I’ve been using this product daily I have seen my output on the bike increase and my next day discomfort decrease significantly. I am looking forward to continued use to see if this is something that gets even better over time.

That thing I never knew I needed
on August 2, 2020

I preface this by saying I’ve used an electronic toothbrush from a competitor for years and always thought it was a great product. It wasn’t until I saw all the connected features (and persistent coaching) of this Oral B that I knew I wanted to make a switch. Connected devices are pretty pervasive in my home and I never thought I’d be looking at a connected toothbrush but here we are and it’s pretty cool!
The app offers a lot of interesting features, the most useful of which is a “guide” that makes sure you spend enough time on each part of your mouth. Rather than vibrate in your hand to tell you to move on, you simply glance down at your phone and see the teeth in the graphic start to fill in.
This is all great minus the fact that no matter what I do i can’t get one area of my mouth to ever show enough, because i am missing one extra tooth there due to a wisdom tooth damaging it. I’ve tried pretty much everything but the toothbrush protests that I must do more.
Other than that one disappointment i see myself never pulling my old electric out again. The unit came with 3 replacement heads which will get you through the better part of a year of use and the various modes and pressure levels will leave your mouth feeling great.

A contender with some quirks
on July 28, 2020

I have to say I was pretty excited about this product when I first saw it. Connected appliances are becoming a pretty common thing in my household and I had avoided (up until now) the electronic pressure/multi cooker movement.
The ChefIQ is gorgeous right out of the box, with a little bit of stealth style mixed with a lot of technology. Setup is app driven and very easy, with the device firmware updates and recipe adds happening via your home WiFi network.
This unit does everything from pressure cook to sear to slow cook - even ferment. I wouldn’t even know where to start with all the features so I’m thankful that the app has built in recipes that take you through each step.
One thing you won’t find - and the only reason i didn’t give this unit 5 stars - is an actual power button. When it’s plugged in, it’s on. If you don’t want it on, you unplug it. This seems like a very unusual omission for a smart appliance and it took me going through the user guide and support site multiple times to confirm. The good news is the unit reconnects itself to your network quickly once you do plug it back in.
Overall I would say this unit is great for someone who wants an elevated user experience and doesn’t already have a competing product. I’m looking forward to seeing what great things I can use it for beyond the few basic items I’ve already made like chicken wings in the pressure cooking mode.

Replaced my desktop - no looking back!
on July 8, 2020
Posted by: CPWoody
from Dallas, TX
I am a member of an technology influencer program for Best Buy. I did not purchase this product.
Reviewers in this invitation-only program are provided products for the purpose of writing honest, unbiased reviews.
I set out on the experiment of determining if this Surface Book 3 could replace my two year old Core i7 desktop which is used for two key functions.
The first function is building marketing materials (images and video) for my personal business. In particular, being able to do this on the go instead of being tied to a desk. The second function is everyday computing tasks related to the business, including accounting and social media tasks. I will focus mostly on the first one as i think it helps to illustrate the value of this product.
Two products I use regularly in support of my business are Photoshop and Premiere. The challenge with this has always been mobility, as you can often think you took a great shot or cut of video only to sit down and find out it didn’t capture well on the camera.
I was able to take the Surface Book 3 out with me on a recent production to create a sizzle reel for my business and within seconds I was able to move my video clips into Premiere, render them, and build the framework of my film. Being able to do this on the fly was a huge win, and the Surface Book 3 handled everything so quickly and smoothly that I forgot i was using a Hybrid laptop/tablet product. The processor is stronger than my desktop and with 32gb of RAM i was able to rip through the tasks I needed and get back to my day. Premiere can be very system intensive depending on how many layers of effects you are using and at no time did I feel like I was experiencing the laptop performance penalty I’ve endured with other devices.
Once i got back home I was able to use Premiere to add all the necessary effects and once again things went quickly and smoothly. I do recommend the purchase of the Surface Dock 2 if you’re going to be using this unit regularly with a home setup. It gave me all the ports i needed and runs my 38” widescreen monitor without so much as a hiccup.
Some things i would have liked to see on the device are a backlit keyboard and a little better control of the two webcams (one faces front and the other back) because I was unable it i specify which one I needed to connect to in certain web applications and found myself awkwardly staring at the back of the unit from time to time. I also don’t know that I have much need for detaching the screen since it’s a bit heavy and awkward to lug around on its own, but i appreciate the flexibility to do so and the unlatch button on the keyboard was a nice touch.
Based on the time savings and total computing power of the Surface Book, i was able to retire my desktop and improve my efficiency overall.
I highly recommend this system to anyone looking to ditch their desktop and get into a more professional photo and video rig.

Awesome picture and sharp design

Normally i wouldn’t get too excited about a monitor but when this one showed up i knew it was going to be a different experience. The first thing I can say about the Alienware design is that it’s solid and very attractive. The base is super heavy and has no sign of wobble like my other high end monitor. The unit is completely plug and play and integrated immediately with my system via HDMI. You also have the option to use DisplayPort. My Dell Monitor Manager picked it up instantly and setup using the on screen controls is pretty easy. Embarrassing enough - I think the hardest thing was finding the power button, which is under the right front corner. The buttons on the back of the monitor aren’t marked very well so i kept pushing one thinking it was it and no such luck.
Display quality is very sharp for a monitor this size and screen performance for high refresh rate games was so much better than the monitor i normally use.
This is an absolute recommend for anyone with gaming hardware that wants a top quality monitor to pair with their rig.

Polaroid for a new generation of fans
on May 4, 2020
Posted by: CPWoody

If you’ve ever used a Polaroid camera before you’ll feel right at home. If you’ve never used a Polaroid camera because you always take pictures from your phone, this will be a different experience. I really liked the USB charging functionality and the overall ease of use. I had a hard time getting it to take a decent picture, though. Perhaps I’m spoiled by all the complex technologies of today but it was either too dark/blurry or too exposed/bright. It kind of reminds me of an Instagram filter you can’t turn off.
Overall I would say it’s worth a try if you want the nostalgia of a Polaroid with some modern updates.

Intelligent and Functional
on April 13, 2020
Posted by: CPWoody
from Dallas, TX
I have to admit I’m usually skeptical of anything that claims to purify the air. These products have existed for ages now and yet still aren’t common in homes so there is a believability gap to be overcame.
Consider that accomplished.
The Dyson unit is very much an all in one device. Cooling, humidification, and filtration all in one. Once you have it step up - which admittedly feels a bit like you are building a rocket - it goes to work when you want it to, or when it detects that it needs to.
At any time you can open the Dyson Link app and see how the air quality inside compares to outside, and it will basically give you a report card of any work it’s been doing. In auto mode it runs only when necessary; you can take the controls as needed from the included remote or from the app.
What have I noticed in the few days I’ve been using it? Less sneezing would be the first thing. I am always suffering during seasonal allergy flare ups and i feel already like this unit has helped me breathe better. I also find that with it going and my ceiling fan running, the A/C was kicking on less during our warner days.
Ultimately i would recommend this device to anyone who is looking for the simplicity of a single intelligent unit to replace all of these functions in their home.

Create, control, and champion your playstyle with the new Razer Basilisk V3—the quintessential ergonomic gaming mouse for customized performance. With 10+1 programmable buttons, a dual-mode tilt scroll wheel, and a heavy dose of Razer Chroma RGB, it's time to light up the competition your way.

Is it normal for this mouse to make clicking noises when the computer boots up? It clicks as if I were toggling the scroll mode, but I'm not touching the mouse.

I don’t know about whether or not it’s normal but mine does it too. Didn’t even put two and two together until i read your question. It sounds like the clutch on the scroll wheel engaging and disengaging as the power to the USB port changes.
