The Blue Pure 411 Auto air purifier takes a simple approach to smart air quality management with an integrated particle sensor, Auto mode setting, and LED air quality display. The ENERGY STAR certified air purifier delivers high performance with one-button control and customizable pre-filter colors in a lightweight, compact package. Independently evaluated and third-party tested for performance as part of the AHAM Verifide® Program for room air cleaners, this air purifier has a Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of 132 for fine smoke particles, 96 for pollen particles, and 107 for dust particles. Recommended for small rooms like nurseries, guest bedrooms, and home offices with a 360° air intake to completely filters room air about every 12.5 minutes (approx. 4.8x an hour at 190 ft²) on the highest speed. The 3-step combination particle + carbon filter works with Blueair's HEPASilent™ filtration technology to remove 99.97% of airborne particles down to 0.1 microns, like pollen, pet dander, mold, bacteria, viruses⁰ and more, while an additional layer of activated coconut carbon traps light household odors. The one-touch enabled Auto mode is designed to help you maintain a comfortable and safe home environment. When enabled, the setting automatically adjusts to real-time conditions reported by the integrated particle sensor. Stay up to date on your air quality with the LED display; it changes color to indicate good, moderate, or poor. Blue Pure 411 Auto quietly cleans the air with less noise than a soft whisper⁶ on low (18 dB) and up to a normal conversation on high (48 dB) – while using less energy than a light bulb (2-10 W) on all speeds.⁷ Change color in seconds with five fabric pre-filter options inspired by Scandinavian nature. The fabric material of the pre-filter catches larger particles and extends the life of the primary filter. Plus, a hidden compartment in the fabric pre-filter keeps the power cord hidden out of sight. Vacuum the fabric or toss it in the washing machine whenever it needs cleaning. Pre-filter in Arctic Trail (gray) included; Additional colors available for purchase. At Blueair, our Swedish heritage inspires sustainability and quality at the heart of everything we do. All Blueair purifiers are AHAM Verifide® for Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) and given a recommended room size, certified by ENERGY STAR for energy efficiency and the California EPA Air Resources Board (CARB) for safe ozone emissions. ⁰This air purifier not been tested against Coronavirus, and Blueair does not claim to capture, remove, or kill 2019-nCoV. ⁶Sound pressure according to GB/T18801 & GB4214.1 ⁷Tested according to GB/T18801-2015 standard. Simple and Very Effective!

I have never had a lot of faith in air purifiers - between the idea that I'm relying on something I can see to remove something I can't, and the ongoing expense that comes with ownership, it just hasn't been a big must-have for me.
That being said, I'm very glad that I changed my mind and took a chance on this Blueair unit. My laundry room is also my cat litter box room, and with two cats around it's never the easiest place to breathe fresh air. I selected this unit from Blueair because it would be a good fit for the space and seemed easy to operate.
Within a day of running the unit on medium I could tell a SIGNIFICANT difference in the smell/air quality. Operation is very simple and it's definitely a set it and forget it type of device. I am not completely sure what the replacement costs for filters will look like, but I know that the initial performance of the unit will make it worthwhile for me.

My coworkers noticed the difference immediately!

I’ve been using a really old webcam for a long time how, so when the opportunity to test this item came up I knew I needed to get one. Quality webcams are still a bit scarce in stores due to the pandemic and I am happy to say that although this was not a brand i recognized, the product works extremely well. Image quality is such a vast improvement that my coworkers commented all day that I looked like I was live. The unit is well designed, has a built in rotating privacy cover, and integrates seamlessly with Teams. Absolutely recommend!

Works well but requires some patience

I absolutely love grilling out but it’s not a year round thing. When i saw this product i was interested in the promise of a smokeless indoor grilling experience and it’s pretty sizable grilling surface was better than a lot of the other competing products.
Setup is very simple and the out of the box instructions are easy to follow. I had Korean bbq chicken thighs and veggies cooking in a matter of minutes.
How long that meal had to stay on the grill was an entirely different story. The recipes in the included guide suggest that grilled chicken shouldn’t need more than about 5 minutes per side to cook thoroughly. It turned out that i needed over 10 minutes per side to get grill marks and a cooked through finish.
I think part of this comes from the temperature control. It doesn’t quite line up with the flashing lights - which leaves you wondering whether you’re over, under, or just right.
On a very positive note - there was absolutely no smoke coming from the unit and my kitchen wasn’t left smelling like an outdoor picnic.
If you are patient enough to manage through the cooking temperature guesstimating then this is a great addition to your kitchen.

Great features - image quality could be better

After spending some time with the 360 all around webcam I think it's a device that has some very specific use cases where it would shine, and others where it might not be the best solution for you.
The device configures easily right out of the box and is labeled as Plug and Play. It integrated smoothly with Microsoft Teams / Skype and I was able to select it immediately. The functionality of the device is controlled via a mode button on the unit itself, and there are a number of different "views" you can set up based on where you have the device positioned. One unique one that I really liked was the all around view, where you could put it in the middle of the table with the camera pointing up, and it captured everything/everyone around.
Thinking about what we are all going through right now, this has pretty awesome possibilities for holiday gatherings and I would highly recommend it for that purpose.
Where I wouldn't necessarily recommend it is for regular webcam use. The image quality is not as high as I would have liked, and because the camera is on a stand there isn't a way to put it on top of a monitor where it would have the most usefulness. Otherwise you end up with a sideview shot that makes conversations very awkward.

App and build quality hold back a great keyboard
on November 14, 2020

I selected the Alienware AW410K because I had been having issues with a product from a competitor that I thought might be the keyboard itself. This was great timing and I figured it wouldn't hurt to test out the competition. There are two things I think keep this keyboard from being one that can strongly recommend. The first one is that unlike most keyboards at this price point, it's plastic. The lack of a metal frame just makes it feel like you're spending a lot of money for the lighting and programmability. Once it comes time to do all that programming you will find that the app is not user friendly at all. It took me a long time to figure out how to access the themes because it isn't labeled logically. There's also this whole concept of game-specific lighting themes that Alienware pushed to the forefront, and I think the priorities were just backwards there.
As for keyboard feel - the Cherry MX brown keystrokes do not disappoint and are somewhat less "clangy" than the other colors. I find that I can type fast without distracting everyone on conference calls and when playing games the response time is impressive.
All in all I think this is an alright keyboard for the price if you're a fan of Alienware, but when compared to other products on the market you are likely to find others that feel more substantial and have easier to use interfaces.

One too many apps - lots of reboots
on October 25, 2020

Positives:
Dash camera is clear and easy to use
The “smart power adapter” really is smart - and has a handy mute button that ends up right behind my shifter in reach
Easy magnetic mounting and removal for not so great areas or garages
Areas of opportunity:
One too many apps - you have to install two different ones to use all of the device features in iOS and that just seems like one too many
Reboots a lot - without any clear reason why - but at least tells you it’s auto rebooting
Goes off a lot and there is nothing to be found.
Overall, i think this product is good for someone who needs a radar detector and is used to using one. I haven’t had one in years and i personally found the constant false alerts distracting and the app functionality cumbersome at best. I would hope for some improvements before i could recommend this device to others but it has great potential if they can clean up some of the usability issues.

Very impressive!

A few positives right off the bat:
All day battery life even with a heavy day of Teams meetings
No sweaty ears
Awesome noise cancellation
Easy Bluetooth pairing (for your first device at least)
My nitpicks:
Makes my cheeks rattle if i listen to music (or talk to baritone friends)
Not immediately clear how to pair multiple devices (say computer and phone) which was essential to me
Even with all of the above i feel like I have to say this is one of the BEST Bluetooth devices I’ve ever used for voice calls. Bone conduction has come a really long way and I couldn’t be happier with this device. Make sure you look at the directions online as multipoint pairing instructions are found in a video.

Super clear and very useful home office accessory
on October 7, 2020
Posted by: CPWoody
from Dallas, TX
As I have worked to adjust my home office setting to be the "new normal" in terms of work environment, I wanted to get something that had much better speakerphone quality than my current mobile device. While I am frequently on video calls during the day and use a headset, sometimes it's just easier to have a speakerphone handy. When I saw this product from Anker I was immediately intrigued and figured it was worth a shot. I'm absolutely glad that I did! The sound quality is pretty amazing for a speakerphone and other participants noted how clear I sounded as well. The device is really easy to use, pairs quickly, and does exactly what I need it to do. One tip - the device is rechargeable and you will want to pay particular attention to what you plug it into. I was having problems connecting from my mobile device initially and didn't realize I'd plugged the charging cable into my computer. This makes it an extension of your computer and that connection gets priority over your bluetooth. Once I figured out I was fighting myself it was a pretty easy fix.

A whole party in a box!
on October 4, 2020
Posted by: CPWoody
from Dallas, TX
I didn’t quite know what i was getting myself into when i opened the box for this Sony does it all and then some audio system. I mean anything with a fiesta button has to be entertaining, right? Between the flashing lights, karaoke capability, DJ like audio manipulation and what i have to say is pretty loud and clear sound quality, it’s hard to go wrong with this item. I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because i think there can be too much of a good thing and it took a lot of reading and playing around to understand most of the features. The fiestable app makes matters a lot easier than the remote full of buttons but you’ll want to set aside a couple hours to really get to know this unit. If you’re the kind of person that likes to entertain at home there is a pretty cool feature that allows multiple people to play songs from their phone and build a playlist. A little bit like the old days of the jukebox at the bar with a modern technology twist.

A compact powerhouse
on September 28, 2020
Posted by: CPWoody
from Dallas, TX
I finally had the opportunity to use my new Shark today and I was beyond impressed. When compared to my “full size” this thing is an absolute powerhouse. One thing that immediately made an impression is how easy it went together and was ready for use. It took two minutes and no instructions, though great ones are provided right in the top of the box as you are getting the contents out.
Features wise, it’s packed. The wand comes out effortlessly and is great for picking up things in places you can’t roll over. Especially when combined with the lift off functionality. The brush roll is self cleaning thanks to this interesting extra roller at the front and as someone with pets this is a huge win. The dust cup is rather large and the unit pivots in a way my other one doesn’t - makes getting that last couple inches just beyond the bed frame or low table.
I absolutely recommend this product!

Create, control, and champion your playstyle with the new Razer Basilisk V3—the quintessential ergonomic gaming mouse for customized performance. With 10+1 programmable buttons, a dual-mode tilt scroll wheel, and a heavy dose of Razer Chroma RGB, it's time to light up the competition your way.

Is it normal for this mouse to make clicking noises when the computer boots up? It clicks as if I were toggling the scroll mode, but I'm not touching the mouse.

I don’t know about whether or not it’s normal but mine does it too. Didn’t even put two and two together until i read your question. It sounds like the clutch on the scroll wheel engaging and disengaging as the power to the USB port changes.
