On my desk sit two different HP laptops - the brand new one I just received from my employer, and the Spectre x360. When I tell you they could not possibly be more different from one another, it's the absolute truth.
HP design and quality of materials has come a long, long way since the last time I had to get a new laptop. I compare the build quality of this device to any Macbook Pro, with its metal finish and nearly borderless touchscreen display. The device is incredibly responsive and with a Core i7 processor makes everything run far smoother than my AMD based work computer.
My favorite feature is the concept of being ablet to fold the whole display unit over onto itself and use the device as a tablet, with the included pen providing a lot of extra functionality that I didn't think I'd use initially.
You will not want for anything more in a laptop once you check this device out, and I'm looking forward to my next trip in a few weeks where I can be productive on the plane and still have some room to move thanks to the small footprint.

I hadn’t heard of this brand at all when I picked up this mouse, but now that I’ve been using it for a few days I’m very glad it is the one I chose.
While this device is plug and play, you definitely need to follow through the steps of installing the companion app. Once you do you will be presented with a dizzying array of configurable options from 16 million colors of LED lighting to nuances on how the mouse senses where it is moving. Some of these things i actually had to look up just to see what they meant, but i know that for someone who is an active gamer where precision and speed absolutely matter this will be a great choice.
The size and weight are perfect for me, both fitting my palm comfortably and being easy to move around during long stretches of work.
Overall I would highly recommend this device to someone looking for an alternative to some of the other big names in gaming peripherals.

An awesome teaching tool for photo editing

I'm always a fan of any app that doesn't just allow me to do the things I know how to do, but also is willing to teach me step by step on the things I've never even tried befoure. PS Elements 2020 is a great example of how much more you can do with photos if you have the right hand guiding you. My first project was to take the focus area of one image and superimpose it onto another background. I have a business where I have multiple vehicles and I wanted the ability to have all of them on the same background, even though their photos were taken in different places.
I am by no means an expert at Photoshop, so I figured this would be some sort of daunting task. I was able to go into the Guided toolbar, Special Edits, and Replace background. The app intelligently identified the main focus area (my vehilce) and asks you to load the image that has the background you want. I was able to put the one car over top of the other, than carefully blur out the edges a bit so it looked more natural. Overall the whole process took me 2 minutes for something I figured would take many steps.
From there I was pretty hooked and spent a lot of time just pulling pictures up and doing different things with them. I can say with certainty there are enough functions and filters to keep both novice and expert photo editors content for a long time, and I look forward to seeing how I can use this tool effectively in other aspects of my business.

So i selected this product knowing that air frying is supposed to be a much healthier way of cooking than conventional frying. I would say in terms of cooking ability, this product is pretty awesome. I was able to season some boneless skinless chicken thighs and in 16 minutes they were juicy inside with a little bit of crust outside. One challenge is actually getting the unit set up - the instructions are reminiscent of a certain Swedish furniture company; there are words to follow but on a completely different page than the pictures. I definitely found myself fumbling until i got it all together and from there i was good. Another great thing about this product is the number of available accessories. You can grill and bake; as well as double stacking with a special rack. These accessories do not come with the unit and you will end up wanting at least the grill pan if you intend to use it regularly.
Overall i would say this is worth the price you pay as long as you’re single and don’t have to cook for a family.

A great workhorse printer with a few setbacks

I found myself immediately drawn to this printer based on the incredible amount of ink it holds and the fact that so much additional supply was included. I’ve owned both Canon and HP printers over the years and tried various forms of cartridge solution. This is by far the most innovative - you simply open the tank, put the ink bottle on, and give it some lean now and then to get every drop out.
I found two setbacks that would have helped this printer get to 5 stars. The first one is the absolutely abysmal screen. It’s pretty much impossible to read unless you’re at eye level with the printer and in good light.
This wouldn’t matter so much if you didn’t actually need the screen during the setup process that canon uses. At one point the printer simply wouldn’t set up, and it turns out it was not the fault of the printer so much as i couldn’t easily read that the screen was wanting me to print a test page and i had to push a button on the printer to acknowledge. Once i got past that things were pretty smooth and i found the overall print quality and speed better than any inkjet I’ve used for a while.
I use the HP printing app a lot for my business and I found the Canon app was able to do all the same things in just a different layout. If you can learn one you can learn the other.

I’ve been wanting a cordless vac like this for day to day touch ups for a long time. Dyson seemed to have the market cornered for a while and now Shark has become a true contender in this category. The product was very easy to assemble - two clicks and you’re pretty much done. I went ahead and let it charge for a few hours before i tried using it, but was immediately pleased with the results. I have two cats so there’s always litter around the litter box and cat food around their bowls. After all these years they haven’t figured out how to clean up for themselves. The Shark cordless made clean up very easy, and the turbo power trigger allowed me to get the more stubborn items up without any problems or multiple passes. One area of improvement might be the collection cup, as it seems stuff gets stuck down between the cup and the filtration system so after one use my unit looked pretty dirty inside. I’m hoping i just missed how to disengage the filter so i can clean the dip, so I’m not going to let that impact my rarely given 5 star rating. This product will make your life easier around the house regardless if it’s kids, pets, or spouses you’re trying to clean up after.

Setup is easy - functionality can be challenging

So i found myself really curious about this product and couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. I have a fairly automated apartment - Hue, Sonos, and Nest as well as Wifi capable TVs. I’m often having to bark orders at Alexa and sometimes that takes 2-3 tries. I was looking for an all in one remote with a quick learning curve and great functionality. I found half of that for sure, but the functionality definitely still leaves me wanting a bit more.
One major example would be with Sonos. I have 5 speakers around the house and the remote handles the basics pretty well. Unfortunately where it misses is being able to dig into the various sources. As far as i can tell, it can only play the playlists you have in your Sonos app, and that means setting stuff up in Sonos and then coming back to the remote to control.
I thought maybe i had a way around when i configured the Spotify service. Instead, it only sees the Amazon spots around the house - not the sonos speakers where i would actually want to hear the music.
For my hue lights it added every single bulb for individual control. This probably can be fixed by building groups but currently it means swiping a lot to get past the lights and over to other objects.
For my TV which is a roku TV I’m not quite seeing the buttons i need to fully control the device. I know there’s functionality to customize what i see so I’m hoping this can be resolved with some further tinkering.
Ultimately i think this product has a lot of potential, but for my needs and wants i might have to let the software catch up to me.

I’ll start by saying i have really poor experiences with wireless Bluetooth headsets. The only one I’ve tried so far - until today - that worked for me is the latest Beats Solo, and they are a bit cumbersome in the gym. I wanted to try this Marshall headset because I know the brand name represents professional quality audio solutions and i was pleasantly surprised by the sound reproduction these deliver. Vocals are super clear and there’s just the right amount of bass to fill the music out instead of the tinny sound you get out of AirPods. Where i would have liked to see some improvements on this product was the use of a four way joystick type controller to access key functions. It’s difficult to operate while you’re exercising and i found myself always clicking the wrong way because of how the device orients when it’s hanging on the side of your face. Add to that the LED status light that’s so small i completely missed it for a while and you’ll probably find yourself wondering “is this thing on?”
Overall i think the sound quality outweighs the user interface concerns, but you’ll want to try these out first depending on how you like to control your headset.

I am really not much of a case person to begin with but now that phones have reached such sky high values i decided my XS Max would need to be protected. The first case i bought as slick and showed every fingerprint along the way.
Enter the Presidio grip case to the rescue! I’ve always been a big fan of Speck and this one does not disappoint the ridged design makes it far easier to hold onto - and it also stays in place very well on my console versus my last case that would slide right into the floorboard. I feel well protected and all controls work perfectly - including a right sized cutout for the mute switch that seems to be difficult for most case manufacturers to master. No more bent fingernails!

I had a lot of mixed expectations based on everything i read about this product. It turns out it excels in some places and just needs some basic user experience adjusting in others.
The product works right out of the box since it has 8gb of internal memory. Definitely enough to play around with and get started, but you’ll need an SD card to do any real work with this device. Additionally, the memory card does not become the default storage method unless you tell the camera to do so, which left me very confused once i went to download my videos and nothing was on the card.
Wind reduction controls - on auto by default, but it must require a tornado to activate it. If you’re outside you should likely turn it to ON Instead.
Image stabilization really didn’t seem to stabilize much of anything even on its highest setting. I might not have an extremely steady hand but i started to get motion sick trying to watch my video especially when i had zoomed in on a subject.
That all being said, you can easily attach to a tripod and get great quality video if you’re willing to put in that level of effort.
I’d say the most worrisome feature i encountered was the port cover. It has a separate small button you have to engage to unlock the flap, and then a motion to actually open - this mechanism should just pop open once the lock is pulled because what you really have to do is an unsure slide across that feels like it’s going to break off the door in the process.
I’m not really sure what the competition looks like in this category but i think Canon has proven they have years of experience building high quality and feature rich products. I just wish more of that engineering would have went into the design of this one.

Is it normal for this mouse to make clicking noises when the computer boots up? It clicks as if I were toggling the scroll mode, but I'm not touching the mouse.
I don’t know about whether or not it’s normal but mine does it too. Didn’t even put two and two together until i read your question. It sounds like the clutch on the scroll wheel engaging and disengaging as the power to the USB port changes.
