If you like Alestorm you will like this album. If you don't, then you probably shouldn't be reading this. Alestorm is a bit of a niche band, but loads of fun if you buy into the concept. I have been into Running Wild (the original metal pirates) since 1987 so with their passing (and temporary resurrection) I needed a replacement. Alestorm is vastly different that RW, but the spirit is still there. Catchy melodies and driving riffs - how can you go wrong! These guys are essentially a party band and if you ever see them live you will know what I am talking about. They are not for everyone, but neither is metal as a genre. Back Through Time is everything the first two albums are with maybe a bit of added complexity to the music. All and all, a raucous good time.

Terrific reboot of a classic franchise

This is a surprisingly good movie. Not just a "monster" movie. There is actual suspense and no cheesy acting in sight. There is a slight rework of the origin story from the 1954 classic but it still works. I don't want to get into spoilers, but Godzilla shows why he is king of all monsters (and with near photorealistic effects). As for the product, it has killer audio and video as you would expect from a blu ray. Also included is a 3D disc (I haven't watched) and a DVD version of the film.

If you like 70s cinema this is for you. It pushes the conventions of blaxploitation films to the extreme for comedic reasons but there is definitely affection for the genre. If you liked the (underrated) film, you'll dig the animated series. All the actors from the movie lend their voices to the characters and there are plenty of guest stars to lend their talent to new characters. Suey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
