Doctor Strange is a rollicking good time. Plenty of thrills, eye candy and humor. Marvel can do no wrong at this point and DS continues their track record. Even though it expands the MCU, it still feels familiar.
This movie has had more shots taken at it than a WW2 battleship. Is it an iconic film that DC deserves? No. Is it a fun ride? Yes. Just go with it, and have a blast.
I have been a fan of this film since I was fortunate enough to view a copy sent out for Oscar consideration in 2001. I have owned copies on every format since. This new version is the best the film has looked since it hit home video. I cannot compare it to the 4K version, but I can't wait to do so!
This release features the complete fourth season of The CW's original superhero series Arrow, based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, played by Stephen Amell. In season four, Arrow fights off the terrorist group H.I.V.E. while protecting the people of Star City. All 23 episodes from the fourth season are included, as well as behind the scenes bonus features in this Steelbook collector's edition.
This series is as dark as the DC cinematic universe, but with superior quality. The flashbacks are getting tiresome, but the show never fails to deliver on the whole. Tough and gritty, this sets the standard for dark superhero storytelling.
This release features the complete second season of The CW's original superhero series The Flash, based on the DC Comics character Barry Allen and his speedy alter ego Flash, played by Grant Gustin. In season two, Flash is forced into action when the multiverse has spawned a new arch enemy - Zoom - and threatens to destroy Central City. All 23 episodes from the second season are included, as well as behind the scenes bonus features in this Steelbook collector's edition.
It might be tough to keep up with this show, but you can't deny that it is a rollicking ride. The Flash is much more than a guy that runs fast, and this season shows that in spades. However, you would be hard pressed to find a show (super hero or otherwise) that revels in it's entertainment value. If you are invested, this is a heck of a series.
Look at the lineup for this film...it is unsurpassed. Bogie doing his thing is enough to recommend this film. Along with Edward G. Robinson, tough guy banter is guaranteed. However, Bacall is the wild card here. Before she was (deservedly) the femme fatale or sexy siren. Here she displays more than that, a more 'real" character. Close quarters and killer performances make for movie history.
This is the first pairing of Bogart and Bacall. Lauren Bacall made her film debut here and she is electric. No wonder Bogie fell for her like he did. The iconic "you know how to whistle" scene stands up to this day. And just watch Bacall's exit from the bar. The look she gives Bogart is a potent omen of things to come. Great debut and a terrific film.
After Brutal Planet and Dragontown, it is easy to assume Alice has begun chasing other bands to attempt to remain relevant. While both albums had their strengths, Diamonds shows Alice returning to the classic sound that made him the icon that he is. Incredibly catchy, but a little twisted is what Alice Cooper is all about. Gimme more!
Quinten is infatuated with his own voice. While that is no surprise, many know that patience is quite the reward. The film has a long setup, but Quentin does not disappoint. While "8" doesn't have the strength of Pulp Fiction or the characters of Kill Bill or Inglorious, it delivers the goods none the less.
The complete fifth season of the HBO hit fantasy drama series Game of Thrones, which set a Primetime Emmy Awards record by winning twelve honors in 2015. All ten episodes of the season are included in this release, continuing the struggle of warring factions to gain control of the Iron Throne. Game of Thrones ensemble cast includes Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, and Kit Harington.
If you like intrigue, excitement along with a healthy dose of violence, this is right up your alley. Game Of Thrones continues to thrill and shock. It is must-see TV of the highest order.
