With Jurassic Park changing movies forever, The Lost World seems rushed to completion. I understand the need to not just remake the first film, but not having your main character back is baffling. Still there are some terrific scenes and the production is top-notch (of course). It is not a bad film, but the others in the series are better.

The film is underappreciated and I don't understand why people don't like this movie. It is fun, exciting, amusing and Sam Neill is back. All the ingredients for a rollicking good time.

Jurassic World is a fine movie, but to me it still does not match the original. The tin packaging will only fit into your collection with the cardstock stand so keep that in mind.

The plot is complex and that is a good thing in my book. Science fiction gets a reputation for being cheesy and that is unfair. Sci-fi is at its best when it makes you think. About plot or character or themes or whatever. You throw in dazzling effects and big time star power and you have a winner.

If you haven't seen "Stripes" then you don't know what you have been missing. This is Bill Murray and Harold Ramis at the top of their game. Supporting players are (a very young) John Larroquette and John Candy. How can you go wrong. This version is to cash in on the steelbook craze, but it is inexpensive and the film is great so you really can't lose.
Like the first "Planes" and The Cars franchise before, this product is aimed squarely at children. There is nothing wrong with that idea, but Pixar has made a strong reputation on making films that appeal to all age groups. Planes Fire and Rescue is beautifully made (another Pixar staple) and has some fine moments. The characters will engage the kiddies and probably invade your wallet through all the merchandising.
Disney doesn't disappoint with their home video releases. The only small caveat is the omission of a couple of supplements from the previous release. I don't consider that a deal breaker because if those extras were that important, you would already have bought it. If you haven't picked up Sleeping Beauty on Blu-ray then you are in for a treat. The restoration is magnificent in every way imaginable. The Best Buy exclusive lenticular slipcover is the icing on the cake.
You know what to expect from a Michael Bay film. Great visuals and sound and plenty of soapy drama. The film is way too long and has spotty acting, but on a decent home theater system, it will blow the windows out. The steelbook is always a welcome addition to the package and I hope for more in the future.
With AC/DC there are no surprises. They can keep putting out the same album over and over again and still keep it interesting. Perhaps no other band can do that. The album is solid and if you don't have a copy of it, this digipak is a great way to get on board.
This and Powerage are probably the band's most under rated works. Flick of the Switch has AC/DC's signature sound in spades. It's biggest sin is that it follows Back In Black and For Those About To Rock which are both landmark albums for the band. Many consider FOTS to be inferior and a forgotten album sandwiched between FTATR and Fly on the Wall (which had multiple MTV videos). These digipaks have extra pix and liner notes and a really attractive price. You can't go wrong.

What's great about it: The band firing on all cylinders
What's not so great: It has to follow Back in Black and For Those About To Rock
