The Productivity Tool For Ipad Pro
on December 5, 2021
Posted by: jailoliv

I tried the similar model that they made for the Surface Pro and I was impressed once again. This iPad Pro model basically shares the same features, with a slightly better overall design. The difference is that with the Surface model, it makes it look and feel like a real laptop. To be honest, this iPad model does make it look like a Mac/laptop but the feel is not exactly the same. It is not the keyboard fault though. iPads are still not a replacement for a Mac laptop simply because they don’t share the same OS and the mouse/trackpad acts a little awkward in comparison.
This Brydge keyboard is relatively light, comparable to the iPad and has a sturdy well-built aluminum body. The battery last 3 months, which is half of what it lasts for the Surface Pro model. Still, it’s a long time without worrying about running out of power. It would be great if it shared power with the iPad but it’s a good compromise.
Magnetic case should be a must and it has it, along with the extremely useful – to me at least – adjustable backlit keys. The oversized trackpad may not be as important, but it is definitely nice to have.
Like the Surface Pro model, I found it very comfortable, even on my lap. When I was composing an e-mail or Word document, it was easy to forget I was working on a tablet. I would only become conscious of the tablet when I had to use the trackpad or some other functions that behaved somewhat differently than a laptop.
This keyboard compliments the iPad Pro Max. It follows the same care for details as Apple. My 5-star rating here is for both design and functionality. Although you won’t forget you’re working with an iPad, its overall built is even better than the Surface Pro model, which I also rated 5 stars. I would also recommend it over original smart covers for productivity because it is more comfortable for long hours of work.

Still The Best for Productivity
on December 4, 2021

My first Brydge Keyboard impressed me by making my surface pro look and feel like a laptop despite its lightness and sturdiness with a well-built aluminum body. This newer model has had the same effect on me.
With a battery that lasts at least 6 months, it is hard not to like it. My previous one surpassed 11 months and I won’t be surprised if this one doesn’t last as long but no complaints here. Ideally, it would use the type-cover connector, but its USB-C charger is all you need to juice it up again for many more months. And during all this time, you have backlit keys and a high-quality touchpad.
My only criticism is that I have not seen a lot more improvement from the previous model, which was great already. It is just more suitable for the Surface 8. I wish snapping the tablet in and out wouldn’t require so much force. I don’t see the need for my Surface to use screen protectors but if you do, this will get in the way. It gives stability, which is great, but it is about time to come up with something that is both sturdy and easier. It should also be lighter although that would probably require some design changes because it already is lighter than the Surface and sometimes you can’t lean the tablet backwards too much because of that.
I found it very comfortable, even on my lap and it was easy to forget I had a tablet, not a regular high-end laptop. Despite my suggestions above I still believe it deserves a 5-star rating. I would recommend it over the type cover if/when you use the Surface for productivity. It is way more comfortable, especially after working for a couple of hours or more. That’s the same kind of experience that I’ve had with their iPad Pro Max model, except that I couldn’t forget that I had a tablet with the latter as I could with this one.

The sound quality you expect from great earbuds with convenient features that go above and beyond. Two microphones in each earbud mean you’ll always be heard on calls. The SOUNDFORM Rise True Wireless Earbuds are designed to get you through even the longest days with an impressive 7 hours of charge in each earbud and another 24 hours in the wireless charging case. The IPX5 water resistance rating protects them rain or shine while easy-to-use controls offer the power to change volume, skip tracks, and take calls, all at your fingertips.

Very Stable Bluetooth Connectivity
on November 30, 2021
Posted by: jailoliv
from Medford, OR
For any Bluetooth audio device, the first things I test are lag and stability since both are very common issues. For the last 3 and half days that I’ve been using these earbuds, they only failed on me once and that was because I turned a microwave oven while listening to music. And I’m not using that against them because I have yet to see a Bluetooth device that doesn’t have audio issues when too close to an operating microwave oven simply because those ovens operate at the same frequency as Bluetooth but at a much higher power. Even with all the protection to keep the radio waves internally, they do leak enough to affect audio devices. What matters is the buds have been very stable and no noticeable lags.
Audio quality won’t impress audiophiles but won’t disappoint most other people, especially for this price category. The bass level is adequate for listening while working out or doing something physical. It is also great for virtual meetings with its multiple microphones and clear audio. The only time I was not totally happy about them was when I laid down on my couch to listen to some nice music. I won’t bore you with all the technical details of my frustration because I’m one of those audiophiles and prefer over- or on-ear headphones for those moments. Otherwise, they were great.
IPX5 is okay for occasional sweats and humid environment. For heavy and frequent workouts or wet places, I would be concerned. If you are an athlete, you might want to look for something with an IPX7 or higher rating. Also, I’m used to auto pause when you take earbuds out of your ears, but these won’t pause automatically. The good news is that they are relatively comfortable, and the battery lasts long enough until when you need a break and put them back into the charging case, which will give you many more hours of active listening when you need them again.
Based on price category, these are among the best I’ve tried, and my 4-star rating is taking that into consideration. Otherwise, I would have rated them 3 stars for lack of noise cancellation and good but not great audio quality. However, their excellent stability for the Bluetooth connection makes them a great value.

At 720p this monitor is not bad as higher resolution would be helpful only to zoom in since you can’t tell much difference on small screens such as this. It is bright and clear. The camera view is narrower than I expected. That can be fixed with an adapter you can order from them, but I wish it was included. Almost no delay in video. That is most likely due to the 720p resolution as it generates less data, turning the downside into a plus.
The sound was okay. We could hear my two-year-old granddaughter and she could hear us, but the audio was on the low-quality side. Maybe I’m too worried about a non-issue but I wanted to point it out.
Range is of essence to us as our house is bigger than average. Fortunately, the VAVA baby monitor worked in every room and even in the outdoor kitchen, which is detached from the house. Because the camera is PTZ and can automatically follow movement, it will be useful even when the baby is much older as it was for our toddler.
We loved the battery life. With USB-C, it charges quick, but it is very nice that it lasts the whole night and beyond with one charge without being plugged in. That is great because it gives you flexibility. If you need to move the baby temporarily to another room, you don’t have to look for a power outlet, which may not be available, or it doesn’t provide you a good angle for the camera.
Overall design is excellent. It feels and looks premium and has most if not all the features most parents/grandparents would like. It would be perfect if audio was as good as everything else but it is close enough.

Impressive and Time Saver
on November 14, 2021

As a user who has been working with videos for many years, Adobe Premiere Elements would seem unlikely to meet my needs. The truth is that I use both this and the Pro version. I’m going to describe the reasons so those reading this review can make their choice.
When I have some personal and some very basic work videos that are short but would benefit from some basic effects, Premier Elements will do the job very quickly. No need to spend a lot of time figuring out soundtracks, masking, blue screening, and so on. Elements have all of these at the click of a mouse. Thus, even for me, this is my go-to tool for very basic material. This version includes auto-reframe of subjects, which can automatically cut out most of the surroundings to focus on what is most important for the scene. It works mostly well, and it is definitely very easy even for those using a video editor for the first time. It extends photo background, like Photoshop, giving the illusion of a much wider background than it actually is. I tried that a couple of times and the result was convincing. Animated overlay is another feature. This one depends a lot on what you choose to overlay. If you overdo it or choose the wrong seen or animation, it will look very artificial. Three out of four of my tries were somewhat disappointing. It is not a problem with Premiere. The issue is that it is automated through some type of AI but as you can imagine, it just can’t do magic for you. Keep trying them with different scenes and you will find what works and what doesn’t. Adobe makes the interface easier and easier every version and this year is no exception.
The other reason to use Elements is to start video editing. It makes it a fun experience for beginners. It is my recommendation for anybody aspiring to become a video editor but who has little to no experience. Once you’ve had fun with it and mastered all its tools and if you’re still enthusiastic enough to learn and do more, then you will be more justified to spend the extra cash and go with the Pro.
When working on videos that require powerful results, Premier Elements won’t cut it. It lacks a lot of tools and customization for a professional work. There is no question that Premiere Pro is the tool to choose here. In comparison, Elements is like a toy and Pro is the real deal. The built-in effects in Elements are too few and customization is very limited. That being said, I personally believe that Elements will meet the needs of those who are not professionals while giving them a result that looks like a lot of effort was put into it. Maybe I’m biased because I’ve used both versions for many years and even before I got this to review, I’d spend the money on Elements even though I have a subscription to the Pro version. It is just a life saver when I’m in a hurry and need to come up with something quick for family. Even if you have previous versions, especially more than a couple of years behind, the incremental feature upgrades make it worth it.

Pain Relief and Relaxation
on November 4, 2021
Posted by: jailoliv
from Medford, OR
With anything portable, I usually don’t expect heavy-duty performance, but that’s exactly what I got. That’s probably what has got me so excited about it. Portability and heavy duty are two words that rarely go together but they describe it perfectly.
The Pro in the name of this percussion massage device is not simply a marketing gimmick to lure customers. I have another similar device from another brand and it is good, but the Hyperice Hybervolt 2 Pro is clearly better. Just a couple of tries and I was sold. I’m just going back to my usual workout routine, and I’ll need it daily.
This is not just to be used after workout. It works with other types of pain but my second most common use for it is to relax my whole body. Of course, for this you need somebody to help but you just promise that person the same treatment and you’re set. It comes with different attachments suitable for different parts of the body and you can select up to 5 levels intensity. It has been a memorable experience every time. Especially for my back.
It is relatively quiet and comfortable in the hands. I intend to take it with me for my next trip. Usually, I wouldn’t carry something like that but because it is easy to pack and no cables once it’s charged, it will come with me going forward. The premium in its name fits its look and feel too. A great overall design and quiet considering its power.

Plenty of Useful Features and Great Image
on November 4, 2021
Posted by: jailoliv
from Medford, OR
Placing the cameras was not so easy even with some experience that I’ve acquired with this type of security system. The issue is that the wireless part is for WiFi streaming only. You still need a power source. I had installed a similar one before and run the cables but this time I wanted a little far away from the original place. Apart from that, setting it up was easy. No need to use a monitor or TV, just their app, thanks to the Bluetooth connectivity. I ended up connecting it to my TV, but it is optional.
Speaking of WiFi, be aware that it uses its own WiFi to connect back to the NVR. This is not your home WiFi. That means that it is dedicated and other than possible interferences, you don’t have to worry about it. The NVR needs to be connected to your router with an ethernet cable.
Using my Google Hub, I was able to tell it to stream from any one of the cameras directly to it to my Hisense TV. It worked every single time. The image quality on a 75-inch 4K was just crystal clear, with popping colors. Gone are the days of fuzzy videos that wouldn’t help much if you had to give them to law enforcement. This Night Owl camera will revel even birth marks that have been removed. I don’t think I’m exaggerating here. If I am, it’s not by much. Image is really that good even under low light conditions. Not so exclusive to Night Owl, but it is nice to see they don’t lack anything here. The only issue is that it seems fixed to about 15 fps but for a security camera, that’s not an issue to me.
Like many newer security systems of this type, its 2-way audio is just okay but it’s good to have. One thing that was new to me was the pre-set voice alerts. It’s more useful than it seems. The siren is not anything new either, but it is also a nice feature. The built-in flood lights are much brighter than other cameras I’ve tried, except one, which is actually a floodlight with camera. Facial recognition is great for a modern security system, and it has it. Again, I found all features useful.
One last thing to consider is that this is U.S. made. Many have heard about serious criminal spying issues with some Chinese cameras commonly sold in the U.S. That’s not the case here. I hope it is not being used to spy on us but at least it wouldn’t be some foreign country. Also, the videos are recorded locally to its built-in 1TB drive with no need of a subscription.
I would have given it 5 stars if it had a battery option, even if sold as an add-on but I would still recommend it.

The IL 51 infrared heat lamp can relieve sore muscles, reduce inflammation, improve skin, and ease cold symptoms. The infrared surface can treat areas up to 16" x 12" and includes a 0-50 degree adjustable angle. Easy to use with an on/off button and timer function. Meant for treatment on large areas of the body like the face, back, shoulders, or neck. Trusted safety features like automatic shut off and a UV-free lamp. Tried and Tested Technology
on November 4, 2021
Posted by: jailoliv
from Medford, OR
First, a disclosure. I work with Healthcare and technology. My whole family, including siblings and children are healthcare professionals in different fields. But my comments here are from an average user and I highly recommend that you talk to your healthcare provider for medical advice.
Infrared lamps are not something new although that doesn’t make this device technologically outdated. Actually, it has at least one important feature that makes this unit modern: a timer. What matters is that it is a tried and tested technology that works in easing pain, especially muscle pain.
I personally haven’t tried it yet because my workout routine lately has been mild, and I haven’t had any muscle pain related to it, but my girlfriend has experienced some hip pain on one side for a while caused by her work routine at the hospital. She was amazed that after about a week of using this Beurer Infrared Heat Lamp her hip pain was mostly gone. She had been using a heat pad for at least a year with just minor relief. I had to wait and see a few more days to make sure it was going to last, and it has. Her only complaint was that she should have thought about using an infrared heat lamp for herself, since she has known this can help some types of pain.
The 300-watt heat is what makes it work. What that means is that in our case, it worked better than a heat pad because the more intense heat can penetrate deeper. The 15-minute timer is literally a life saver, or at least it saves the part of your body that is being treated. In the past, this type of equipment caused many burns or worse as people would fall asleep while it was in action. This unit is mostly safe but be careful.
With a compact size and relatively light weight, you can easily take this with you when you travel. As it’s powerful enough, it might work for you if your pain responds well to heat therapy. It may also decrease the amount of medication needed for some people with more serious pain.
Based on our experience at home with this unit and not finding anything negative about it, it’s worth a try.

Perfect Five!

Installation was easy but please be aware that I have some experience installing smart switches all over my house and every time it becomes easier and easier. So, if you are going to install it yourself, take some time to learn how to wire it safely.
What I liked the most about this switch is that it has two very useful buttons. One is just to turn any lights on and off. The second, along with the first, can trigger different themes as customized on the app if you also have LIFX smart lights. What I quickly found out was that I can use the second button to turn on a LIFX light not connected to the same switch. That worked great for me because I can turn on the “dumb” kitchen lights that are directly connected to the switch, and the smart LIFX lights in the living room. All from the same switch. It reminded me of the Philips Hue switch although the LIFX Smart Switch is directly wired and can also control non-smart lights while the former is portable and uses battery but can only control Philips smart lights.
You can control the switch with Alexa or schedule it with IFTTT, for instance, but you can also turn it on and off the old fashioned way when no digital assistant is available or desirable. And the backlight is subtle and, should I say, beautiful.
This smart switch easily beat all the other ones I have owned, with maybe the exception of the Hue one I mentioned before BUT it solves a problem the latter doesn’t, which is to make any light smart. And not only lights, but anything that can be turned on and off from a switch, such as ceiling fans, for example.
I do recommend it and from my experience thus far, it deserves five stars.

Affordability with Quality and Flexibility
on October 31, 2021
Posted by: jailoliv
from Medford, OR
I once purchased an excellent video doorbell but the first issue I had was that the only angle I could install it was not ideal. That was because of where the wiring was located and the stone frame, which makes it very difficult to rewire anything. But I didn’t have that problem with the Blink Video Doorbell as it allowed me to skip the wires and install exactly where I needed it. Whenever possible, wiring is preferable because you don’t have to worry about batteries running out. Blin gives you that flexibility. It was so easy to install, and you can have it up and running in minutes after you download the app and follow the instructions.
Because you’re not forced to subscribe for their service and you can save the videos locally, this makes the Blink doorbell even more enticing. Just be aware that you need the Sync Module 2 for that but I couldn’t find much that I didn’t like. Video quality is 1080p, which is excellent for a doorbell. The two-way audio works well and so far, it has not disconnected or produced subpar images even under low light conditions, which are much better than I expected for a product that is not considered high end.

A lot of modern features such as zone or masking are available, and they work well. The only missing feature here is facial recognition. I personally like that feature but many people don’t. So, you may see that as either negative or positive. For this review, I consider it negative. One of the positive features is that it integrates very well with Alexa as expected from an Amazon product.
Interestingly, its respect for privacy is much better than another Amazon product. Considering price, features and quality, it is hard to pass.

Simplify your everyday life with the Google Home, a voice-activated speaker powered by the Google Assistant. Use voice commands to enjoy music, get answers from Google and manage everyday tasks. Google Home is compatible with Android and iOS operating systems, and can control compatible smart devices such as Chromecast or Nest."

If this works with Nest system will it work with Ecobee* system? I We decided against the Nest system due to the class action suits regarding house fires. I would love to add this to our home.

No not yet but I believe it will soon. As far as I know, for now it only supports Nest, SmartThings, Philips Hue and IFTTT.
