Great Speaker with Lots of Bells and Whistles

This speaker has so many good functions. Here is what I like about it:
1. Good Sound. Sound is good quality and has pretty good bass. The volume can reach pretty high without distorting. As good as you could expect from a speaker this size, and much better than some.
2. Good Design. The speaker feels solid and has a design that allows the sound to travel in multiple directions at once. It is also small enough to carry with one hand.
3. Easy to Use. Bluetooth connects seamlessly and the controls on the speaker are easy to use.
4. Weatherproof. I love that this speaker is weatherproof. While it is nice to be able to listen to around pools or in the rain, it is also nice that it is dustproof, so I can use it when working in the garage.
5. Lights. Although lights were not one of my requirements, the lights on the speaker make it easy to see in the dark and also add to a festive atmosphere.
6. Good Battery Life. The battery life on these speakers seems to get better and better every year. The 24 hour battery life is extremely impressive. And while I haven't been able to take advantage of this yet, it's good to know that it is there when I need it, and don't have to worry about charging it every time I use it.
Overall, this speaker has all of the functionality that I was looking for plus some, and would recommend it.

Good Sound and Good Fit

These headphones are great! They sound great and they fit well. Out of the box they are easy to pair. I have several pair of great in-ear headphones and compared to those, these sound better. I guess that is to be expected from over the ear headphones, but these have more bass and volume than I was expecting so I was thrilled with that.
The fit is also important. I have a very large head and most over the ear headphones don't fit but these do. Also, if the headphones are too snug they irritate your ears but after 15 minutes listening to these I had no irritation whatsoever.
Also, I would point out that these are the new favorite headphones in our household. I had to wait for my son to go to bed before I could try them out because he likes them so much.
Overall, I think these headphones are a great value and would recommend them.

Love Philips Hue Products!

I love this product but am only giving it 4 out of 5 stars because it makes you hook up the hub to an Ethernet port. I have WiFi points all over the house but since everything uses WiFi I don't have very many Ethernet ports. I assumed this product could be setup with WiFi but it has to be manually plugged in.
Besides that, the product is awesome! You can add and control all your lights and setup really cool ambiences and scenes. The app works good but is always getting better. If you buy, make sure you check out the "explore" options and go to the Hue Labs to find cool routines and programs you can run on your lights.

More than Just an Assistant

What I like about this speaker is that it is more than just a Google Assistant because it also has good sound. Most of the other voice activated speakers do not have the sound quality that this one has. Here are the pros and cons as I see them.
Pros. The speaker is good quality, heavy duty and sounds pretty good for a dual purpose speaker. Also, the speaker was super easy to setup out of the box and to use with our iPhones. Also, the Bluetooth connects easily and it is compatible with many of the music apps we already use.
Cons. The biggest negative to me was that the Google Assistant will not play YouTube music unless you sign up for the paid subscription. I don't understand this since you can listen to music free on YouTube directly. I would also point out that this is due to Google and not any fault of the speaker. The only other thing I would change about the speaker is it's design. I prefer a sleeker looking speaker and this one reminds me of designs from prior decades, with its boxy shape.
Overall, the speaker is a great value for the price and offers a lot of functionality and sound quality.

Good Value for the Price

After a week with this new Chromebook, I have been impressed with the value. In all ways it looks the same as a laptop with the difference being that it runs on the Google / Android operating system instead of Windows or Mac. If you are already familiar with Chromebooks then you already know this, but if you are new and looking to buy then you should know that the only software you can install on a Chromebook are the apps from the Google Play store.
As far as performance goes, the Chromebook is fast, easy to control, and can handle videos very easily. The display is bright and the quality of the book feels sturdy. The fact that it has a built in webcam and Bluetooth is also a nice addition. There is plenty of memory for everyday use. For our family, this was a great fit for my son, who already uses a Chromebook at school and can easily sync this device to his school device to work on homework and other projects.
On the negative side, the only thing I have is that it is sometimes annoying when you want to do something simple but you can't find an app to do what you want. Also, some of the apps that we have installed on other Android devices had trouble installing onto this device (until we created a new account). I'm talking mostly about the Roblox app. We spent 2 hours trying to get it to work and when we finally did we realized that it is the toned down app that is used on tablets or phones instead of the app that is used on computers. The other downside to consider is that this isn't a touch screen, so that when you download apps that are meant for touchscreen you will be at a disadvantage with this machine.
Overall, I think the book is a good value for the price and would recommend to those looking for a toned down laptop at a good price.

Versatile Speaker and Assistant

I've only used the speaker a few days but found it to be of good quality and very versatile. Here are the pros and cons as I see them.
Pros. The speaker has good quality sound. It is not a high end speaker but better than just buying one of the assistants (Echo or Google). When turned up close to the max the sound gets slightly distorted, but has enough bass to carry even outdoors.
The speaker is also easy to setup, and can be up and running in a few minutes. If you are new to Google assistant it can take a while to understand how all of this works.
It is nice that the speaker is portable, and has enough battery life to carry outside or follow you wherever you go. Also, it is nice to have the Google Assistant built in, and makes the speaker more fun to have around than just a plain speaker.
Cons. To me the biggest con is the Google Assistant. This is no fault of Insignia but you are not able to play music from YouTube (owned by Google) unless you pay for YouTube Red. This was pretty frustrating because you can play YouTube music for free from almost any app, but the one owned by Google wants you to pay.
Also, I don't think the microphones for Google Assistant work as well on this speaker as others. When music is playing at a reasonable level it can have difficulty activating the assistant.
And finally, pricing has been all over the place. Why does Insignia put a price tag of $149 on this and then sell it for $59? A few days later it is back to $99 but never sells near the MSRP. This doesn't detract from the product but makes me wonder about the value of this speaker.
Overall, it is a good entry level speaker and assistant, especially if you get it at a low price. I would recommend it.

I haven't used a radar detector in years so the technology on this one kind of blew me away. By hooking up to the Escort Live app you are able to lockout signals that are not a threat (like automatic doors#, but more importantly you can see where other Escort radar detectors have detected recent speed traps and radar threats. This is very cool and although I wasn't sure it would work for my commute here in Madison WI it has found a recent speed trap almost every day during the past 2 weeks - some were still active and some were not.
The downside is that you have to turn your app on each time you get in the car for it to sync to the detector with Bluetooth. Also, the app goes for $50 per year #one year included with purchase). If Escort really wants you to use the app you think they'd give it for free so they could have more users reporting threats. Also, the app really sucks the batteries on your smart phone, so you need to keep your phone plugged in if you are driving more than 45 minutes.
The only other negative I can say is that the detector rattles loose from the windshield mount constantly. I am always reaching up and clicking it back in.
And finally, this product works great for me but I still wonder if buying the cheaper version for nearly half the price would have been just as good. The reviews I read said you get what you pay for so I am hoping that this was a good purchase.

I bought this Echo because it comes with a smart bridge and I wanted to start my smart home. Overall, it worked great for operating basic light controls and even some of the color changes. What I didn't like is that it is not compatible with the Philips Hue Bridge app, so you can't setup a light show, run programs, or control multiple lights with a program. Also, I found that many of the Alexa apps and skills are not very detailed. They usually only allow for a portion of the smart skills. I am hoping that Amazon expands the capability of the smart bridge and apps to work better with all of the other smart products. For example, I have a Nest thermostat installed and Alexa can control the temperature, but that's about it. Also, when I log into Alexa (say I'm away from home) and want to change the temperature from the app, I am unable to do anything. I have to log into each individual app on my phone to control such things as my thermostat, garage door, security system, etc.
