The thing I like best about this computer is its sleek and stylish design. The worst part about setting up a desktop computer is all the cords attached devices. This computer has one cord that is plugged into the power outlet. Everything else is wireless and small. The screen is large but also very thin, and houses the processors. It is kind of like a high end tablet on a stand. Also, the keypad and stand feel sturdy and high quality. The mouse, on the other hand, feels a little light and is kind of an awkward shape, but easy to get used to.
Regarding the processing power. The intel processor has good performance. I did get some slow spots but it was usually caused by Windows, which was doing updates and upgrades for the first 3 days I had the computer. Also, I would point out that you can play most games on this computer but if you need a good graphics card then you may want to get a computer with a separate graphics card and memory. This computer has an integrated graphics card and cannot support any of my son's "xbox" games. It is no flaw with the computer but rather just something to consider when you are shopping.
Another thing I like about this is the bottom mount camera with an on/off switch. You can slide a shutter across the camera to make sure the camera is off. Also, the view from a bottom mount camera seems like a better angle than the top mount. Also, the camera is used for facial recognition and easily unlocks the computer just by standing in front of it. Not once did the facial recognition not work.
Overall, this computer is a great family computer that is fairly quick, sleek looking, easy to maintain, and takes up very little desk space. I would highly recommend it.

Great Tool to Capture Good Photos

I like Google Clips because it allows you to capture pictures without having to use your phone or carry around your camera. The device is tiny and can easily be setup near wherever the action is to provide unique perspectives for you to record and view. And because it's automated you don't have to worry about taking the pictures yourself. Instead, you can just enjoy being there.
Here are the things I liked about the camera: First, the size is great. It is very small and with the clip can be setup in a lot of places without a big distraction. Second, it is very easy to use. It's as easy as plugging it in and downloading an app. The app is easy to understand and use. It is really nice that the pictures can be automatically saved to your iPhone directly from the app. Most cameras need to be downloaded to a PC. Another great function is the ability to view the live stream from the app. You can use this to make sure the camera is setup in the right spot. You can also hit the button on the app to take photos from the camera. This is nice because it doesn't always take pictures when you want, and this allows you to capture moments you want.
The only two things that I wasn't impressed with was the battery life and the occasional overheating. Battery life is said to be up to 4 hours but I found that mine used about a percent a minute, so at a much faster rate. I'm guessing that some of the reason it drained faster was because I was constantly connecting to the camera, which I assume takes more battery power to transmit. Also, when connecting for more than a few minutes the camera would shut down and tell me that the camera was too hot to continue. Again, this might have been because I was doing the live preview and using the battery faster than if the camera was just left alone.
Overall, this is a very fun camera that is great for getting good quality photos with a unique perspective, while letting you enjoy not having to take the pictures yourself.

Surprised by the Bass

The first thing I noticed about these headphones was the quality and clarity of the bass. Right out of the package they sounded clear with a deep sound quality. I was actually a little surprised because I have several similar style headphones and it is rare to have this good of sound quality. Also, the volume can sometimes be soft on wireless headphones but the volume on these is as much as needed.
Also, the noise cancelation seems to work well but it is hard to tell because with the tight fit in the ear, most of the background noise is already dimmed.
Other nice things about these headphones are the app support and the battery size. The battery is stated to last 6 hours. I haven't used them that long without charging but have gotten pretty close. Also, the headphones worked with the Sony app I already had installed on my phone. I went into the music app and clicked on the headphones link. It took me to the headphones app and from there you can apply updates, turn the ambient noise on or off, set the noise canceling, and use an equalizer function to get the sound exactly how you like it.
Overall, I like the fit, sound and style of these headphones and would highly recommend them.

Works but not as I would like it to

This light switch works as advertised but I was frustrated by two aspects. First, the light does not support dimming. Since almost all of my 2 way switches are on dimmers, I would be losing functionality by installing this. I did read that you can install just one side of the 2 way switch with the smart switch and use the other as is. I tried doing this with a dimmer as the other switch and it worked until the light was set to dim, and then the smart switch got confused, probably because of the low voltage.
The second issue I had was that the Wi-Fi connection needs to be secured. I have an open Wi-Fi network and keep all of my files behind security. I also have over 40 other devices connected to my network, so I was unwilling to change the security settings on my mesh network to accommodate one switch. This was very frustrating. I did setup a guest account with security and used that to connect, but if I wasn't also connected to that account then it didn't work. For this reason, I uninstalled the switch and will not be using it.
Despite my indifferences, there are a lot of positives to this switch. It is easy to install and the app works pretty well. It also has a cool design and offers settings to automate your lighting by hooking up to Alexa. The app is smart enough to use your location to lookup sunrise and sunset times so that you can have the switches turn on from dusk to dawn.

Cleans Better than Expected

For some reason I wasn't expecting a device this small to clean as well as a full sized vacuum cleaner. After using it for a week I have changed my mind. Here are a few things that are worth sharing about this robotic vaccum.
Let's start with the fun. Since getting this vacuum, the whole family has participated in cleaning. The boys have cleared the floors and removed cords in all the rooms in the house, and have been moving the vacuum from room to room like it was a game. It has been a lot of fun watching the app map the room as the vacuum methodically analyzes and cleans the room.
More important than the fun is the quality of cleaning. Because of its size the robot can easily go underneath beds and dressers and clean areas that are nearly impossible to do with a regular vacuum. The proof that it cleans can be found when you clean the dirt / dust tray. After doing just a small bedroom, the tray is full of dust.
The robot is also effective. When it first started in our living room I thought for sure it would get stuck or confused. For a while it sure looked like it was confused and looked like it was going to get stuck, however, it always figured out where it needed to go and never missed a portion of the room. It is very methodical and thorough, and the robot has enough weight for the brushes to be effective and enough suction to extract the dirt. Part of the reason it cleans so well is because it moves across the surface evenly and doesn't miss small areas. With a regular vacuum I often find myself hurrying and not cleaning all parts equally.
I haven't had a chance to use the mopping function yet but plan to try it out on my hardwood floors this weekend.
Finally, I would point out that the app is fairly easy to install and use. Once it maps out a room you can then use the app to specify which areas to clean and which to ignore. This is a great function if you keep the robot in one location. Since we keep moving from room to room we haven't had a need to use this. I would say that even without the app it does a good job using the "auto" button.
Overall, the vacuum has been better than my expectations and would gladly recommend to a friend.

My New Running and Biking Headphones

These headphones are really great for running and biking. I wasn't sure how they would feel on my shoulder but I actually like it much better than a wire that moves around every time you move your head. Plus I run in the dark so the flashing light is a great addition. In my opinion, the flex shell that sits on your neck is the reason the battery life is 3 times better than other headphones, and to me is a great tradeoff.
Also, these headphones are ideal for when you wear a helmet. You can take them out of your ear and the magnets hold the earbuds together so they don't swing around. Also, I use headphones with no wires between them and they have a tendency to fall out when you wear a helmet or a hat. These solve that problem.
Regarding the sound. The volume is more substantial than other JBL wireless headphones I've had so I'm thankful for that. Also, the quality of the sound is good. The bass is not great but they definitely don't sound tinny or cheap. For songs that have good bass they do sound great.
The headphones are easy to use. The buttons are very firm so you really have to press hard to use, but you get used to it. Also, the Bluetooth connection works great. I did have a sound glitch the second time I wore them whereby the sound turned off every time I looked back and to the left on my bike. At first I thought that was part of the "run safe" mode but turned out it was a glitch. It didn't happen again and JBL tech support was quick to respond to my concerns.
Overall, I am pleased with these headphones and would recommend them.

Switch Works As Advertised

This ecobee Smart Switch works as advertised. It is easy to install and easy to setup with Alexa. Also, once you download the app, it is farily easy to setup the bells and whistles like turning on the motion sensing capabilities and the night light function. The night light is cool because it only turns on when it is dark in the room. Also, it is amazing that Alexa and a speaker are built into this tiny switch. Overall, Alexa works well but because it is mounted in a wall, there is a little bit of directionality to it. In other words, when talking to Alexa from an angle, it does not respond 100%, sometimes it takes a few tries. Overall, there are many cool functions to this smart switch.
I would like to point out a few things to consider before buying. Originally, I had big plans for where I would put this switch - in one of the heavily trafficked areas of the house. However, the switch does not work with 2 way light switches, which ruled out almost all those areas. More disappointingly, the light switch does not have a dimmer function. I was shocked that a smart switch was not smart enough to dim the lights. Because most of my house has dimmer switches, it ruled out all of those switches too. Also, we already have Echoes in the 2 main parts of our house, so it didn't make sense to put another one right next to the others. After all this consideration, the only places left to install were the bedrooms and the bathrooms. I chose to install in a bathroom. That way the night light and auto on will work and you can ask Alexa the weather or news before you start brushing your teeth.
Overall, this is a solid product but I would really hope they add the dimmer functionality soon.

Good Sound and Awesome Battery Life

What blew me away about this speaker is that it has really good sound that lasts forever. I have several other speakers that can play music at the same volume as this, but their batteries only last a fraction of the time. It has always made me feel like I need to keep plugging the speaker in when I am using it. However, this speaker can last up to 24 hours!
The sound quality is pretty good. It is better than most of the other portable speakers I've heard and has a function to add extra bass.
The other thing I like about this is that it is waterproof and dustproof. You don't have to worry about leaving it outside when it rains or if you leave for a while, or about it getting full of dust when you are in a work area or in the wind. That makes it a great outdoor speaker.
Another function of this speaker are the lights. The lights are a nice way to bring attention to the speaker and create a festive atmosphere, but I find that most of the time I would rather not have them on. You may be able to turn them off using one of the 2 apps that help control the speaker, but I couldn't figure it out when I tried.
The speaker is also designed to be able to sync with your phone and make sounds and light changes when you move your phone. You can also turn on a setting where you can hit the sides of the speaker and it will make beat box type noises. I found this very unuseful, as you need to hit the speaker so hard to make the noises that I would imagine it would get damaged over time. Needless to say, these functions are fun to play with but I don't find myself using any of them.
Overall, the speaker is well built, provides good sound, and has lots of versatile and fun options. I would recommend it.

Much Better Than a Manual Toothbrush

This Sonicare toothbrush does exactly as advertised. It cleans your teeth better than a manual toothbrush and it helps you regulate your brushing to two minutes with its built in timer.
I have had several Sonicare toothbrushes over the years. I have also tried the other electric toothbrushes. I prefer to use the vibrating (i.e. sonic) technology because it can clean near the gum line without damaging the gums. While I am not a dentist, the toothbrushes that spin in circles seem to tear up your gums and only brush in one direction.
I also like that simpler models of the Sonicare toothbrush, like this one. I have had versions that have lots of settings and options and find that on a daily basis all I use is the on and off button. I would say that it is nice that this one has an indicator as to when the brush head should be changed. Because these brush heads are built so well, they don't wear out like manual brushes and I often find myself using the same head for months longer than I should.
In my opinion there is no negatives for this brush and I would highly recommend it.

A Mesmerizing Projector

I have to say this projector has more than exceeded my expectations. It is easy to setup and provides a theater quality picture. The hardest part of using it is finding a big enough wall to cast it on. It is also nice that the unit has a built in speaker that provides enough quality sound that you don't need to hook it up to a surround sound (although you could if you wanted).
Overall, the picture quality is great. The kids and I have watched a movie almost every night since we got this projector 2 weeks ago. You can use this projector on a wall and as long as the wall is a light color it looks great. I also purchased the indoor/outdoor 120 inch screen from Best Buy and am now using that inside my house. When we go camping or have a party, we could also use the screen outside.
There are a few things that take a little time to setup. While you can literally take it out the box and point it to a wall, if you want to get it setup in a permanent location it takes a little more effort. The screen is self leveling and is pretty easy to setup, but I did have a little trouble trying to get it to fit my 120 inch screen just right. Also, I would point out that although the projector still works good with some light, it looks much bettter in the dark.
The projector can go up to 300 inches but I haven't been able to find a surface that big. The biggest I've gone is about 140 inches and it was still very bright and clear. The technology uses DLP and the lamp has a limited lifetime (something like 7500 hours). I used to have a DLP TV that had a bulb that needed replacement often and cost hundreds of dollars. It gives me peace of mind that a new lamp for this projector is only $40.
Overall, I think this is a great projector and it makes me very happy. I would highly recommend it.
