A Great Combo of Robotics, RC and Cars (the movie)

The first thing I would say about this Lightning McQueen is that you should think of it as more of a robot than a radio control car. Radio control cars are driven using radio frequencies that control the driving motions of a car. This Lightning McQueen uses a smart Bluetooth device and a massive number of sensors to not just control its driving motions, but to also interact to voices and touches. In essence, you are controlling a driving robot that you can both drive around as well as interact with. The car has an LCD panel that controls the eyes and motors that control things like its mouth and individual wheels The quality and details of this car are outstanding.
I was impressed with not only the quality and attention to detail on this car, but also with how the car seemed to have a personality of its own, including expressions, voices and other interactions, like when you insert the charging plug into the gas cap and it makes a comment. Or when it gets tipped upside down and it makes a funny comment about being upside down. It also has interactive programming and games that you can play through the app that the car responds to. When you stop playing Lightning says something like "awww, come on...".
There are a lot of other positives about this car. It has a good battery life, charges quickly, is really easy to use, and can almost be treated like a friend to my son instead of an RC car. There is much more of a connection with the car than just driving it. Also, I think the app software and firmware can still be upgraded in the future to unlock even more cool features.
On the negative side, the only thing I would point out would be the lack of Bluetooth connectivity. Although it connects great at close range, the connection can break anytime after about ten feet. This impacts not just the driving (most kids follow the car closely anyway), but if you are walking around the house with your smart device while connected you will lose the connection.
Overall, I would highly recommend this to anyone that loves the combination of 1) robotics, 2) RC cars, and 3) Lighting McQueen/Cars Movie.

These virtual reality (VR) goggles are easy to use right out of the box. Even though Merge has a website to help you find apps, you can use them with almost any VR apps out there, including Google Cardboard apps. Right out of the box the goggles were easy to adjust and figure out. Simply download a VR app, turn it on, and stuff your phone into the goggles. Once the phone is in, you may need to adjust the goggle's lenses so that everything is in focus.
Most apps are designed to work with the same buttons that are on the Merge goggles (pushing the buttons really just touches the screen and advances the program or selects the option you are looking at in the app#. Also, many apps ask you to scan the QR code of the goggles so they can make sure they use the right settings. I scanned the Merge goggles with 3 different apps and they all recognized the QR code and worked with the app and goggles.
The only negatives I have to say about using the goggles is that sometimes it is hard to get the apps into really good focus. It's kind of like using binoculars and trying to get both eyes in focus. I'm not sure if this was from the goggles or from the apps, because some apps seemed to focus much better than others. I will give these VR goggles the benefit of the doubt on that and rate them 5 stars.
Overall, they are excellent goggles that work with almost any VR apps as well as the Merge Cube (sold separately).

Good Product but Limited Apps

The Merge Cube definitely works as stated and is a pretty cool concept. It is pretty easy to setup and fairly easy to understand. When holding the cube and viewing through a virtual reality (VR) device, the VR interacts pretty quickly with the cube. In other words, you can move the cube around quite a bit without it affecting the experience. If you move the cube too quickly or your fingers or hand get too far in the way the cube momentarily stops working with the VR app.
On the negative side, there are very few apps that currently use the Merge Cube. I would expect this to change quickly as the product is brand new. Also, most of the apps are not free. I purchased an anatomy app that was only one dollar, but it was very limited and only kept my kids' interest for a few minutes. I would expect that more apps will be created soon.
Overall, for the price and quality of this product, I would recommend it.

Good Coffee, One Cup at a Time

I have been using Keurig for years and this coffee maker is exactly what I expected. It makes good quality coffee quickly and one cup at a time. Here are the pros and cons, in my opinion.
Pros. The best thing about this machine is how easy it is to make coffee. It is both quick to heat up and quick to brew the cup. Other nice things about the maker are that it is compatible with refillable coffee pods so you can save both money and waste by refilling your own coffee. Also, if you like the coffee stronger, there is a button for strong. I think it just brews a little slower. You can also choose a smaller size to make it stronger.
Cons. The only negative thing I could say about this coffee maker is that the coffee doesn't get as flavorful or as hot as buying coffee from a coffee shop. However, I don't think that is to be expected, as coffee shops use high end, pressurized equipment. The coffee is the same quality or better than other brewers and presses that I've used.
Overall, the quality and taste of coffee from this machine is really good and it can make coffee quickly when you are on the go or just decide you want another cup.

Efficient Juicing and Easy Clean Up

This juicer is efficient and easy to use. Overall, I like using it and it seems like a good value for the price. Here are the pros and cons that I have found by using the juicer.
Pros. First of all, it is easy to use. It takes a few minutes to figure out how everything fits together but once you get used to it you'll realize that the design is made for easy cleaning. Once assembled, it's as easy as chopping up some fruit or vegetables and putting them in the juicer. Another nice thing about this unit is that it is very compact. It's thin design is easy to store and doesn't take up a lot of precious kitchen space. Overall, it is high quality, sleek and sturdy. Perhaps the most important aspect of the juicer is that it works well! Although I am always shocked at how little juice you get from most fruits and vegetables, the juicer seems to extract almost all of it. The non-juice portion collects below the juicer and you can see and feel that it is dry, meaning that most of the juice is extracted. I tried carrots, celery and apples. They all worked well but what I noticed about the apples is that the juice varies depending on the type of apple. I used a softer apple and the juice was like apple sauce. I then used a crisper apple and it was much more like an apple cider (very juicy).
Cons. The only negative about this juicer is that it doesn't process a lot of volume. The feeding tube is very small and fruits and vegetables need to be chopped into fine pieces in order to process. While this isn't a big deal if you are making drinks, it just means that it will take a long time to process large quantities (like when I harvest my garden). I think tomatoes will work great but for the harder fruit that needs to be cut up and de-cored it could take a lot longer. I should also note that, while this juicer cannot process a large volume quickly, it is worth it for the tradeoff between its size.
Overall, the juicer is high quality and well designed. It is super easy to clean so you can use it for small quantities or daily without having to worry about a lot of cleanup. It literally rinses clean in less than a minute.

Headphones Lack Volume

These are my second pair of JBL headphones in this price range, and well I think they are high quality, well built headphones, I find the volume level on the headphones lacking. Following are what I see as the pros and cons of these headphones.
Pros. First of all, these headphones are sturdy and seem well built. They fit in my ears very well and the cord between the two sides sits nicely on the back of my neck. Second, the Bluetooth works very quickly on these. While some headphones take several seconds to pair, these usually pair in just 1-2, and easily reconnect during each use. Third, the battery life on these is pretty good. The box says an 8 hour charge is possible. I have used mine several hours at max volume and have not gotten any battery warnings yet. Fourth, the quality of the sound is good. While there isn't a lot of bass, there also are no tinny noises like some of the cheaper headphones.
Cons. The one thing I don't like about these headphones is the volume. When operated at maximum volume, I can still easily hear background noises and cannot rock out to the level that I would like to. For reference, I typically use Amazon Music from an iPhone 6. The same streaming on my much cheaper Bluetooth headphones is much louder (I only need to go to 60% to get to where these are on 100%). I have been looking to override the paired volume control but have not been able to figure out anyway to make them louder.

These Headphones Pass the Test

When it comes to headphones, I think the most important factors are comfort, sound quality, style and price. These headphones pass in all four categories.
First, they are very comfortable. They are in fact so light that I barely knew I had them on. They also have a unique style that fits in your ear and holds the buds in place without any pressure on your ear.
The sound quality is also pretty good. I have had other headphones in this price range that sounded very tinny. These headphones do not sound tinny. With that said, they don't offer a lot of bass either but that is to be expected given the type and price of these headphones.
The style is also nice. When worn, the headphones don't stick too far out of your ears and when placed behind your head, most of the chord is hidden. The control bar / microphone does hang down a little but it is supposed to do that so you can talk into it and so you can reach the controls. You can use the clip that is included to pull this back closer to your neck.
Finally, the fact that you get all of these functions and at a good price makes these headphones worth buying. I would also point out that they easily paired to 2 of my devices, which can sometimes be an issue with Bluetooth.

This mouse is very advanced and offers new technology that allows you to copy and paste from one computer to another, even if you are using one Mac and one PC. The button on the bottom of the mouse can be used to switch between as many as three computers. It is worth noting that it can only be hooked up to one computer with the included USB wifi adapter, and that the other two would need Bluetooth.
The first thing I noticed when I grabbed the mouse was its design. It is stylish and full of options, yet small enough to carry around the house or work. The mouse wheel can be set to free flow or to precision click by simply pushing the button. You can also setup the other buttons on the mouse with shortcuts that can make you more productive.
The two other things I would point out are the battery and the laser. Having a rechargeable battery that lasts for months is really nice and it charges enough for a day's use in just 2-3 minutes - fully charged it can last for 70 days. Also, because of the laser, it works on nearly any surface (I haven't found one yet that it doesn't) and tracks very precisely.
As far as cons go, I haven't found any complaints at all yet with this mouse.

This Bluetooth speaker has it all! It is waterproof, drop proof, it floats, it has great Bluetooth connectivity, it has long battery life, and the sound isn't bad either. What I like most about this speaker is that it is easy to use and versatile. You can take it with you wherever you go and it is easy to grip and carry because of the shape and the handles. You also don't have to worry about protecting it from the elements. If you are listening outside and it starts to rain - no worries. If you have it near the pool or on a boat, you don't have to worry about it getting wrecked. Also, the controls are large and easy to use. By hitting the forward and back buttons it takes control of your phone or tablet and will skip the next song, pause or change the volume.
The sound is also pretty good. Because the speaker is completely sealed I was worried that the sound would be muffled or dampened. That is not the case. In fact, the sound is comparable to other speakers in its class. With that said, I would point out that the sound is not as high quality as speakers that focus only on high sound quality, but with all the other options on this speaker I think it is a great tradeoff and the overall benefit of the speaker is well worth it.
Are there any negatives about this speaker? I've thought about this for a while and there are no real negatives that I can point out.
