If you are a fan of Jason Statham movies you will enjoy this movie. The screen play written by Sylvester Stallone and directed by Gary Fleder is a well paced crime thriller with a familiar plot. Phil Broker (Jason Statham) will go to any lengths to protect his young daughter from the local psychotic drug dealer, Gator Bodine (James Franco), whose nephew has ignited a feud by bullying her on the playground. Winona Ryder and Kate Bosworth give believable performances as Bodine's girlfriend and drug addicted sister.

This is a 3.5 to 4 star movie set in 1999 with an old fashion formula detective mystery story line adapted from one of Lawrence Block's mystery novels. Matt Scudder (Liam Neeson), an unlicensed P.I. and ex-cop suffering from his own demons, agrees to help a heroin trafficker (Dan Stevens) hunt down the men who kidnapped and brutally murdered his wife. As Scudder investigates the crime he discovers another victim has been kidnapped. The line between right and wrong blurs as he races to save the the latest victim before she is brutally killed.

David Fincher shows off his unique cinematic style in this multi-layered, smart film adaptation of the novel written by Gillian Flynn who also wrote the screen play. The foreboding soundtrack gives this film it's perfect mood. The cast bring the characters to life with such ease. This mystery unfolds as the story is told through both the husband's eyes, the wife's eyes and the media's eyes. The story is a great mystery, thriller, drama and social commentary on our media driven society.

1996 satire movie has a dash of ensemble drama, crime drama, thriller and romantic comedy. Danny Aiello is great as the burnt out hit man. James Spader and Charlize Theron are great as the villains and Jeff Daniels and Eric Stoltz are very good as the cops. All these characters collide as the movie comes to a climax.

I fell under the spell of this mesmerizing romantic comedy and it is on my top ten best movies of all time list.
