Hugh Grant gives a star making performance in this movie which was nominated for two academy awards. It is a romantic comedy with a clever plot that spawned many comedies today that take place at weddings, bachelor parties or funerals. Two people meet at the first wedding (Grant) and (McDowell) but can not seem to tie the knot even though they meet again and again at weddings and funerals.

Told through the eyes of 12 year old Oliver (Jaeden Lieberher) who is old and wise before his time. Due to a divorce, Oliver and his mother Maggie (Melissa McCarthy), move to Brooklyn where they meet their neighbor, Vincent (Bill Murray). Maggie is forced to work long hours and has to leave Oliver in the care of Vincent, the curmudgeon who smokes, drinks, gambles and visits with a pregnant stripper named Daka (Naomi Watts). Vincent helps Oliver grow into a man while Oliver sees Vincent's good heart. Good cast.

Oliver Stone's sequel pays homage to the original Wall Street and nails the Collapse of Wall Street in 2008 due to the mortgage meltdown. Michael Douglas is back as Gekko who teams up with his son-in-law (Shia LaBeouf) to get $ revenge. LaBeouf seems miscast but overall a pretty good follow up movie.
