I got this to try cutting cable, but it wasn't able to get any channels clearly enough to watch. Your results will likely vary, but I had to return this for an amplified antenna.

Good tablet, hampered by software

This is an excellent tablet. If you can get it on sale, go for it. The screen is amazing and the size is perfect. I have used 10.1" and 7" tablets in the past, and find this to be the perfect size for reading ebooks, surfing online, working on spreadsheets and documents, or watching videos. With a bluetooth keyboard, I can work on my dissertation from anywhere.
What they don't tell you: Samsung's TouchWiz interface is bad. It slows down the entire system, and it DOES NOT WORK WITH CHROMECAST. I never heard this before, but one of Samsung's changes to the notification bar makes the system crash if you try to pull down the notification bar while connected to a chromecast. Replacing the launcher makes everything run smoother but you need to root and replace the ROM to make it work with a chromecast without crashing. Samsung also puts on a lot of bloatware which is unnecessary and unhelpful.

I picked this up for my girlfriend, and she absolutely loves it. I must say that the screen is incredibly sharp. Better than any display I've seen. It is easy and smooth to use, and the girlfriend loves it for using the internet and reading e-books from the local library. It's also portable enough for her to bring in even small handbags.
Also, this tablet has some of the best specs out there, definitely at the best price.

I only have the designer, but my understanding is that the designer series is supposed to be quieter than the regular. There may also be some stylistic differences.

I have both headphones, and both have the same metal headband. I don't see how it would crack, but if it's a problem you experienced with the prior version, I don't see it being any different here.

green light is blinking, curser moves staticly
It sounds like it is having a hard time maintaining the connection to the receiver. Try having the receiver plugged in as close to the mouse as possible (I have a USB hub built in to my keyboard, which works perfectly). When I plug the receiver in to the back of the computer (less than 3 feet away), the connection becomes choppy and the pointer will skip around on the screen quite a bit.
