In the past 10 years the smartphones have changed drastically and they keep getting better and google pixel is the latest. Since this is the first google phone there was a lot of speculation as to how it will compare to samsung or apple devices. Based on my personal use the google pixel is a winner.
Screen - At 5 inch and 441ppi 1920 x 1080 the screen looks amazing. Gorilla glass 4 is awesome and the screen looks bright and the colors look excellent.
Google Assistant - Its speech-to-text recognition is almost perfect. I tried using spanish words and I was suprprised how well it worked along with English. Calling a contact, sending a message, reminders all seem to work really well.
Camera - 12.3 MP back and 8 MP front cameras on the google pixel produce really awesome pictures. The performance of the rear camera in low light was exceptional. The colors, dynamic range and sharpness was brilliant and the photos were awesome. Selfies were also great quality using the fromt camera and calls using google duo were of great quality.
Software - The pixel comes wih Android 7.1 Nougat pre-installed and is the cleanest version of Android that I have ever received with a new phone. It did not even have android pay installed for that matter. No bloatware is what every android user has always desired and pixel delivers. The user interface is snappy with features similar to fore touch on many applications.
Hardware - The Quad core snapdragon 821 processor is one of the fastest and with the software it is very responsive. The 4 GB ram gives it a lot to work with and never slows it down. The Adreno GPU complements it perfectly and there is no lag when playing 4K video or CPU intensive games.
Storage - The pixel comes in 32 or 128 GB of storage and unlimited google photos storage which works really well if you have the 32GB version.
Charging - Pixel supports quick charging and a 15 minute charge can give you upto 7 hours of call time. Not bad when you are on the run and dont want to be tethered to the wall plug.
Fingerprint Sensor - The fingerprint sensor was the fastest to setup and works flawlessly. Naturally the index finger rests on the back of the phone and you never really are aware that ypu are unlocking the phone. It workls flawlessly and the positioning is very effective.
Easter Egg - The Nougat comes with an excellent easter egg where you leave food out and then a cat comes to visit and eat the treat. Very amusing
All in all Pixel experience is awesome and it lives up to all the expectations of a modern smartphone.

Light and Effective Multi-surface Vacuum

Our family lives in a large house with multiple surface areas including wood, tile, laminate and carpet/rugs. We own about 4-5 vacuum cleaners primarily targeting the different floor types including a Neato that cleans unattended. Since our baby arrived it has become a challenge to spend all the time switching vacuums trying to clean the different floor types. An all-in-one is something we needed.
Packaging - The vacuum comes in a surprisingly compact package and is light enough. The packaging lists the various items included inside along with the cleaner. This includes a multi-surface brush, 8 oz multi-surface cleaner, 8 oz wood floor cleaner, wood floor brush and a parking tray.
Cleaning - It vacuums and washes floors at the same time and has a button to switch between cleaning the hard floor area and any soft area rugs. The cable is long enough as well and does not need to be switched from wall to wall. There are two tanks that keep the cleaning solution and the dirty water separate and easy to clean. The brush roll is rated at 3500 rpm and it mops and picks up debris at the same time. We were surprised how dry it left the area even with the liquid cleaning and it does not leave any streaks. We do use essential oils in the house and add it to our water while cleaning. We do not have pets but looks like it would be very effective with pet hair as well.
We are very impressed and pleased with this Multi-surface Vacuum cleaner.

Space Saver, Universal & Solid Accessory

There arent many good options out there for people who own both an iphone and an apple watch. After struggling to find something that is minimalistic, works without any hiccups and is solid the belkin apple watch dock finally nailed it.
Space Saver - Apple watch charger is very specific and third party have struggled trying to produce a dock that works well and is functional at the same time. This dock is small and bypasses the clutter and need for apple cables. It is an excellent space saver.
Universal - Finally something we can all place our iphone and watch and have them charge without the need to have cables hanging around and tugging them. This is a universal dock and works with both.
Solid - The build quality of this dock is excellent, apple like and feels very sturdy on a table.
All in all an excellent quality product from Belkin.

This router is one of the few new MIMO routers on the market. I have been using this router for 2 months and am pretty happy with the performance. Our family has upto 40 devices on the network and the wireless performance is very important. EA9500 has all the basic features plus some new.
After initial setup the router home screen is a mix of gadgets that give you a quick view of the network. The gadgets can be easily added or removed. Following are the default gadgets listed under Smart Wifi Tools
Network Status - Shows a graphical view of current connection to internet.
Wireless - Shows the status of both bands and you can quickly look at the wifi passwords.
Parental Controls - Turn on or off and see a list of controlled devices
Network Map - Listing number of devices connected on both bands
Guest Access - Turn Guest Access On or Off along with the set passwords
Media Prioritization - Shows any devices that receive priority bandwidth
External Storage - A graphical snapshot of disks connected to the router.
Additionally you can run a Speed Test - supported browsers only
Wireless - Shows the status of both bands and you can quickly look at the wifi passwords.
Parental Controls - Turn on or off and see a list of controlled devices
Network Map - Listing number of devices connected on both bands
Guest Access - Turn Guest Access On or Off along with the set passwords

I had a 4 TB hard drive connected to the USB 3 port and regular used it for FTP. I got upto 34-35 MBps on FTP. DLNA works pretty well. I did have issues with the hard drive showing disconnected even though it was plugged in all the time. This would be resolved by removing the USB cable and connecting it back. I would be concerned if I was remote and expected it to work and it didnt.
The wireless range has been good in a 3 bedroom house and I have never had icoverage or signal issues.
Improvements -
Allow renaming the USB share.
VPN Setup.
VPN Setup.
All in all it is a very good router and I am pretty sure future firmwares would make it more stable.

The range of this extender is really good. It was easy to setup and connect to existing MIMO network. Extends both 2.4 and 5 Ghz networks. The in-built optimal placement finder works really well and the page sticks so you can easily relocate to check the position. Both the wired and wireless extension options work well. I have owned many fitbit products including the fitbit one and the recalled force. After using force it was pretty difficult using other products and I was waiting for surge to be avaialble.
Pros - The surge is a bit large if you like minimalist bands. However I have found surge to be adequate and not too large. It does track sleep and steps accurately. I have yet to use it for running. The heart rate monitor is fairly accurate during walks and workouts.
Cons - The silent alarm buzzes for two seconds and not continuously and I have found it to be useless. The iphone alerts work only for messages and not third party apps. The price tag of $250 is kinda high as well.

Do you have to have a smart phone or can you just sync it to your computer when you get home?(have an old flip phone)
And if you have a smart phone do you have to have it on you all the time when you wear the Surge?
You can sync it to a computer using the provided usb.
