A Minor Upgrade to an already Solid Program

While Photoshop is famous for making elaborate Photo editing a breeze, Premier Elements remains much less flashy - though it does continue to be a good option for video editing. Users who are new to the software will appreciate that the program is highly capable and reasonably simple to learn - but those who are looking to upgrade - well, shouldn’t.
I am extremely appreciative that Adobe has not (yet) moved to a subscription model for the software, but it does feel as though the 2023 version should be a free upgrade (for those with previous versions). There are a few additional artistic effects, but there is very little that feels truly new. I would have liked to see new tools, or improved tutorials, but perhaps the focus was on performance. I do seem to run into fewer crashes, but I am still not fully confident in the stability of the software. Perhaps I have simply been burned too often in the past by crashes that led to HOURS of rework, but I still recommend a healthy level of paranoia - SAVE YOUR WORK OFTEN.
If you are new to the program, I would honestly recommend purchasing the Photoshop & Premiere Elements bundle. The bundle offers decent savings (vs separate purchases) and even if you spend more time editing Video, you will absolutely find good use from Photoshop. Adobe seems to have gone far out of their way to make sure that there is very little cross functionality. If you want to do anything at all involving Photos - Photoshop is practically a requirement.
I do recommend Premier Elements for new users wanting to create and edit creative video content, but existing users should absolutely wait until significantly more is added to justify the price to upgrade.

I fell in love with the Zone Vibe 100 right out of the box. The design is sleek and they are incredibly light weight which adds to their impressive comfort. The earcups fit snugly with minimal pressure against the head and the headband manages to almost vanish thanks to the light frame which is covered by stretchy fabric. Personally, I love how the earcups smoothly slide into place over the ears as though they are being stretched into a perfectly custom fit. The foam is nothing particularly special as there is no cooling gel or fake leather - But, they manage to be quite breathable and don't retain too much heat. The downside to the light weight foam is that they don't muffle much ambient noise. There is no active noise cancelation, so those who want a quiet fit may not appreciate the rather open feel of the headset.
The microphone is sleek, but is easy to locate. When folded down, a pleasant voice softly announces "Mute Off" and when folded away into the hearcup, "Mute On" is verbalized. Typically I ignore companion apps, but I very much appreciate that the Logi Tune app allows me to select the volume of my own voice that is fed back into the speakers. Talking on the phone (whether connected to my cellphone, or a Zoom meeting) works incredibly well - and being able to hear some of my own voice makes me feel as though I am having a normal conversation and not isolated or muffled.
The Zone Vibe 100 has just the right amount of physical buttons with perfect tactile feel - they are easy to find and easy to use. The battery life is excellent and thankfully they charge via USB-C (so I can finally ditch my outdated Micro USB cables). I absolutely love that they connect to both my laptop and my cell phone at the same time. I can listen to music, or podcasts and still seamlessly answer phone calls. I have found myself actually going out of my way to use this headset to make phone calls as it sounds so much better than speaker phone. I can have my hands free to type or write notes and can easily mute by simply flipping the mic upwards. Truly fantastic for multi-tasking.
I absolutely recommend the Zone Vibe 100 for combining work with a bit of play. Logitech even includes a bag for travel. The only reason that I rated them a 4 out of 5 is because they feel as though they are made out of extremely cheap materials. They do a good job of hiding the cheap materials and presenting a stylish and light weight headset, but they are 100% plastic. I honestly worry that they could completely snap in half if they are twisted, crunched, or accidentally sat upon. I also wonder how long the elastic nylon headband cover will last - it could get snagged pretty easily and it would be incredibly difficult to clean if they get sweaty. But, overall good sound, great comfort, wonderful convenience at a very reasonable price.

Fall Asleep Faster - No Cap

I'm actually quite impressed with the functionality of these glasses. Blue Light Blockers seem gimmicky and even these use a bit of click-bait style advertising. But, the frames are stylish, functional, and durable right out of the box. And I have honestly found that I fall asleep more quickly when I spend the last few hours of the night wearing these glasses.
They get immediately bumped down to 4 stars because they flat out lie right on the box when they advertise "No Color Distortion". The yellow tint is more subtle than other blue blocker glasses, but when you put them on - a slight color change is immediately noticeable. Also, they supposedly have an antireflective coating, however I notice reflections on the lenses quite often. Certainly more so than my prescription glasses. These issue are absolutely not dealbreakers, but should be pointed out because of the claims made right on the box.
Not only am I impressed that they help me fall asleep faster, but they are actually stylish. The fact that they come with a polarized sunglasses attachment is awesome and greatly increases the value. These are actually legit sunglasses!
The last concern I had was prescription lenses, but thankfully prescription lenses can be ordered from the GamerAdvantage website. Any additional expense is slightly annoying, but because adding prescription lenses gets you a set of quality prescription sunglasses as well - it's still a great deal.
I absolutely recommend these glasses to anyone who uses screens in the evening. I'm not sure if I believe that blocking blue light is actually better for your eyes, but I do honestly see an improvement with how quickly I am able to fall asleep when I go to bed. Don't buy these to solve insomnia, but if you work or game in the evening - these will be a great buy!

Easy Set-up & Fast WiFi

When I moved into my house 5 years ago I quickly found out that Comcast / Xfinity was the only internet provider who would service my address. In the rush to move in and get the house set up, I agreed to rent their Modem/Router for $14.00 per month ($168.00 per year). I knew that I would save money if I purchased my own equipment, but I figured I would buy the equipment once we got settled in and had more time. Well, here we are 5 years later and I’ve paid Comcast over $840.00 to borrow their equipment. Don’t be a sucker like me! Buy the Nighthawk, get super fast Wifi 6, and save money!
The Nighthawk was super easy to set up and surprisingly - the app is actually helpful. Usually I ignore companion apps, but in this case the app truly helped make set-up easy. The app quickly helps you name your WiFi (preferably something clever), allows you to select your password, view devices connected to your network, create a guest network, and even test your connection speed in each room of the house. The app even lets you view and control your network remotely. Parental control features cost extra, but there are tons of other options that can be used.
I appreciate that the router has a smaller physical size than the comcast Modem/Router device. Instead of standing upright like the Comcast box, it is low and wide with the 4 antennas sticking upwards (which can be adjusted to varying angles). Though I have the Nighthawk in a thick wooden cabinet, it delivers speeds of around 200 Mbps all throughout my 2 level 2,500 sq ft home. I can stream 4K video and play Xbox and PC games online without any lag. My only minor frustrations are that the outlet plug is a rather large box that blocks adjacent plugs on a surge protector and that the antennas are limited in how they can be aimed / adjusted. Other than those exceedingly minor issues, I highly recommend the nighthawk. JUST REMEMBER THAT YOU DO NEED TO PURCHASE A SEPARATE MODEM if you want to avoid renting equipment from your internet provider. Simply search Best Buy for “Cable Modem” and you’ll find many affordable options to pair with the Nighthawk.

Excellent Comfort and Superior Audio Quality

After falling in love with the previous version of the Stealth 700 I absolutely had to step it up to the Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max and they absolutely do not disappoint. I have received literally dozens of compliments from other gamers regarding the superior audio quality of the microphone - which is pretty much the highest praise you can receive. And the directional audio is superb - truly giving me a good advantage during first person shooters. I ordered the Midnight Blue and Rose Gold version, but ended up with the standard black - even though the standard style is less impressive - it still works incredibly well for extended gaming sessions.
Most importantly (for me), the headset is extremely comfortable (even after several hours of continuous use). The earcups are lined with cooling gel that feature cutouts for the arms of my glasses. The headset doesn’t have active noise cancellation, but the foam does a good job at reducing just enough ambient noise - it is a good balance of limiting outside noise while letting enough sound in so that you can still be reasonably aware of your surroundings.
Initially I wished that the microphone was more adjustable, but it stays out of the way while also picking up stellar quality vocals. The microphone is not removable, but it folds out of the way quickly and provides audio cues to clearly indicate when it has been muted.
The Headset is extremely convenient as it can be paired with two devices simultaneously - making it easy to answer phone calls while in the middle of a game, or allowing the user to watch YouTube on your phone while you wait for matchmaking to load.
The audio quality, the comfort, the construction, and the features are all great for the price of the Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max. And because Turtle Beach included the PC adapter this time around, I can easily recommend this headset to both console and PC gamers.

HP Continues to Improve, but is not yet perfect

This new updated HP Omen boots up lightning quick and the screen looks spectacular thanks to the higher refresh rate, but I have been disappointed to find that the graphics card is still not powerful enough to play new games at their recommended settings. Thankfully the refresh rate goes a long way and continues to impress even when game settings are reduced.
There is still no fingerprint scanner (which remains my preferred method for quickly logging in and quickly changing profiles) - and although the Omen has a built in camera, Windows continues to say that it is not able to be used for logging-in with facial recognition. This new version of the HP Omen still does not have a built in slider to cover the webcam - so users who are concerned with higher levels of privacy will still need to find their own way to cover the camera.
The keys are all perfectly flat, but the keyboard is comfortable to use and features zoned LED customization. The OMEN does not have a 10-key which is a bit of a disappointment. I do quite like the oversized trackpad and I appreciate the full sized direction keys. I also love that I am able to open the lid/screen of the laptop without holding down the base of the laptop.
The power brick is a bit of a beast, but the temperature manages to stay on the cooler side - especially compared with the older versions of the HP Omen which would get surprisingly hot. I also feel that there has been an improvement with the noise produced by the fans. The bottom of the laptop is designed to provide plenty of ventilation and while the fans do start up rather quickly into gaming, the noise is not excessive and I no longer receive complaints from other gamers over being able to hear fan noise.
Despite the few criticisms listed above, I believe that the HP Omen offers good over-all value, strong build quality, and is an improvement over previous versions. The day to day operation is lightning quick, but I still suggest looking for the absolute newest processor and graphics card that your budget will allow. I have already found myself lowering game specs to ensure that games run smoothly, so I am not confident that I will be able to play top end games for years to come. For the average student, business professional, or basic gamer - the HP Omen is a good choice for the money. But, if you are focused only on hardcore gaming, you may need to consider a desktop, or be willing to spend even more to get the most current processor for more impressive graphical performance.

Warm-up to a heating solution packed in a modern design with a Bluetooth Speaker. The Farenheit Infrared heater can warm space while maintaining a soft and safe heat without risking safety for backyard dining, outdoor kitchens. Use your Smartphone to set the mood with RGB lighting and playing your favorite music straight to the built-in speakers.

Infrared Heat is not as effective as Propane

While the speaker functions work great, the infrared heater is disappointing. The low mode provides no heat, while heat generated in the high mode can only be felt within about 3 feet of the tower. Currently the heater works marginally well (if you sit close), but it is currently the first week of fall in Washington state - which is not particularly cold in the evenings. I have very low expectations for its performance once the weather actually cools down. The heating element is also quite bright which might annoy some. See the pictures for an example of just how much red light is emitted by the heater.
As the power cord is only 6 feet long - the usability is incredibly limited. The product manual states that the heater is not to be used with any power strip, or extension cord - meaning that it should not be used anywhere other than directly next to your house. These limitations make me immediately miss the convenience of a propane heater - which produces significantly more heat and can be placed anywhere (without the need of an electrical outlet). Admittedly this is safer (and cheaper) than using propane, but it is incredibly limited (if you follow the rules of not using an extension cord - advice which most people (including myself) will probably ignore).
The safety features do work quite well. When the tower tips past about 45 degrees, the heating element automatically shuts off - and, if the speaker is on, it will play a loud warning tone to alert you that the tower has fallen over. Thankfully the tower is pretty solid and I don’t anticipate it falling over from the wind.
While the tower is IP55 certified (protected from limited dust ingress and can stand up to light water sprayed from any angle), I would not recommend leaving it out in the rain as the majority of the unit is covered in a soft felt like material that will probably become dirty and grimy if it gets wet. The soft material that covers the protective grill seems to prevent the tower from getting hot enough to cause burns, but it seems as though it will also collect dust that will be hard to remove.
I do like that Bluetooth speakers are integrated into the towers and they pair seamlessly, but the heater is such a letdown that I would find it very difficult to recommend them. Thankfully the speakers can be used independently of the heater - so I will probably use my two towers to play music, but not so much for heat.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My Favorite for Gaming & Productivity

I have finally stumbled across an absolutely killer gaming mouse that has left me with 0 complaints. The mouse is light, comfortable, ergonomic, and has plenty of buttons which can all be fully customizable with macros - or productivity shortcuts. There is rubber on the sides, but smooth textures where no grip is needed.
I absolutely love the DPI shift button. Not only is it more convenient than the typical DPI selector button, but the shape can be adjusted - or it can be capped off which essentially removes the button. I have fairly small hands and thanks to the physical button options - I am able to reach it without issue.
I also love the option to spin the mouse wheel freely in hyperfast mode, or quickly switch to a ratcheted mode for more precise (and tactile) scrolling. The button is easy to reach and actuate. I also find that tilting the mouse wheel to the left and right is more responsive than most other gaming mice - to the point where I can actually use the feature without worry of accidental activation.
So far the battery life has been excellent, but I very much appreciate that Logitech has created a Powerplay wireless charging mat that can keep the mouse charged indefinitely. The wireless charging mouse-pad is pretty expensive (at over $100), but it’s a cool and useful option.
The mouse isn’t overloaded with macro buttons, but every button it does have is well within reach and is simple to modify/customize with the Logitech G Hub. And, because the mouse can save multiple profiles, I find myself using the G502X for work - changing the buttons from macros over to productivity shortcuts.
The mouse does not have Bluetooth connectivity as an option, but the USB-A Lightspeed pro-grade wireless adapter can be stored securely inside of the mouse - so travel is simple and swapping to a new device/computer is quick and easy.

Comfortable Gaming on Any Device

The Corsair HS65 has done a remarkable job designing a headset that is comfortable, simple to use, affordable, and useful on nearly any device with a USB or 3.5 mm input.
The look and feel of the headset is most impressive as they are designed to look like a pair of open back headphones. The articulation is perfect and the headband applies appropriate pressure without being overly tight against the ears. The ear cups are made from a soft memory foam that remains comfortable over long gaming sessions even when I am wearing glasses. The foam is not a cooling gel, but they don’t seem to retain too much heat.
PC gaming is where they truly shine as there is more power and more customization. The iCUE software allows the user to take an audio test that helps tune the audio to the personal preference of the wearer. The software does make a difference, but I don’t like that the software does not allow any adjusting once a SoundID profile has been created. Sound ID must be turned off if you want to adjust the equalizer, or make any changes. SoundID also doesn’t give any visual representation as to how the audio was tweaked. I would have appreciated being able to see how the equalizer was adjusted based on my preferences during the audio test.
I believe that the comfort and sound quality justify the price, however there are a few downsides. I don’t like the stiff rubber microphone (which cannot be removed). While it generally bends to my desired shape, when I flip the mic upwards to mute it - the mic hits my glasses or rests awkwardly against my forehead. I also don’t like that the cable cannot be removed from the headset. A fixed cable is not uncommon, but if it breaks or frays - there is no way to replace the cord and the whole headset becomes useless.
I would happily recommend this headset for use with a PC.

4K Security on a Budget

The product description states that the system comes with mounting hardware, but unfortunately it does not come with any mounting clips for the wires. As each of the 4 cameras come with 60 feet of wire, you will definitely need clips to keep the wires in place - which means a trip to the hardware store and additional money spent. The package also does not come with any information that would explain how to add extra length to the wires, or how to trim the wire if a shorter length is needed. I would have appreciated information on where to purchase additional cameras, wires, or accessories.
The system is easy to set up and begins recording immediately upon attaching the cameras, even before set-up has been completed. The Network Video Recorder box is equipped with a 2TB hard-drive which, thankfully, appears easy to replace or swap out for a larger size - 4K Video files are quite large, so the ability to swap for a larger drive is very much appreciated. The included ethernet cables carry both power and the video signal - which is convenient, but it leaves me wondering why there is a second cord coming out of the cameras. I assume the extra plug is for a separate power source, but since that is not required for this set-up, I am left feeling as though the security kit was thrown together using separate products and not specifically designed as a standalone unit/kit.
It is also worth noting that the cords do not seem to be particularly high quality as they easily kink. I was pleased to find that all four cables worked, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the outer plastic cracks or splits with time. I suggest being very careful while cutting off the packaging and while unpacking each wire.
Overall, I do feel that the system is a good value for the money and I plan to add additional cameras. The image quality is a noticeable improvement over my previous 1080p cameras and the heat/motion detection appears to work beautifully. I am extremely grateful that the system can operate without internet access and that there are no required monthly fees. (It seems like every product these days tries to get customers to sign up for some type of monthly charge. Thank you Swann for not nickel and diming your customers!)

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra does not have a built in radio tuner. This means that you will need to use a data connection in order to listen to the radio.
