Love this laptop.

My older 15.5 inch HP laptop was having issues and was heavy and ackward to pull out from my table next to my sofa. My husband took my first Samsung 13.5 because he loves Samsung and wanted to sync it with his Samsung phone. This one is all mine. It fits perfectly on my shelf and is so light I can lift it easily. The finish is a brushed aluminum look, no plastic. The edges remind me of the old 1950’s chrome kitchen tables with the little groves. I plugged it in and it charges very quickly. The setup was quick. It does have a printed quick start guide which was helpful because there is a fingerprint sensor option that I didn’t notice till I looked at the manual. Because I missed that button, I skipped setting up the fingerprint ID. I can always go back later if I decide to. Samsung still loads too much of their software on ALL their products to suit me and that is true of this laptop. Windows 10 is still there and I still don’t like it. This laptop works well with it however. I love the tablet mode and it works nicely to sit on my lap and do editing on my photos. I miss the dvd drives and USB ports but was introduced to the type C ports on this one. I still use software with dvds and jump drives. Fortunately my husband had a type C card reader with the USB port so I could still load my Family Tree Maker software. The screen display is crisp and clear, but I notice a bit of “softness” in some of the apps. Photos looked nice. My favorite thing is the ability to very easily mirror my laptop to my new 82” Samsung TV to view my photos, or even look at Facebook with my husband from the sofa. I love the size and the ease of converting to tablet or traditional computer mode. This might be my favorite laptop ever! May take awhile to load all my photos on it, but it’s a work in progress.

Good cable

I wanted a longer cable for more freedom to use my IPad Pro as it charges. While this cable is only about a foot longer than the original, it actually helps. The lightening end easily fit in my tablet even with the protective case on. It seems much better than the original cable because of the heavy braiding, instead of plastic. The charge was fast. The cute leather wrap makes it easy to store. I like my new charger and time will tell if it will hold up better than the original.

This is a nice slow cooker. It looks nice with a contemporary, sleek dark finish with a bright blue digital timer. First thing I did was remove the internal pot and try it on my induction stove. It boiled water quickly and fit the burner nicely. Not all cookware is compatible with induction and this works perfectly. I love that if the recipe calls for browning first, no need to dirty another pan. It is also non stick which, again, helps with clean up. One of my favorite aspects is that it is lightweight. The older I get, the more I appreciate that feature. I tried a cheesy chicken recipe for my first meal using the slow cooker. I added the ingredients and set the digital timer. I like that the display is large and bright enough to easily read. During the cook time, it was nice not to hear the rattling of the lid like my traditional slow cookers. This lid fits tightly with a steam vent. Finally, when the set time finished, the alert beep sounded and it switched to warm, automatically. The food cooked to perfection.

Very Easy

We’ve been using the Ninja Coffee bar for a couple of years. It’s very nice for our daily coffee but there are the pesky grounds to empty and the pot to wash. If I want froth, I have to dirty a container to heat the milk in the microwave before frothing. I’m retired. My goal in life is to do only what I want to. We decided to try the Keurig k-cup. The hardest thing was to decide what k-cups, brand and flavor, to buy. Set up was just plug it in and fill the reservoir. I’m not particularly fond of the look since it doesn’t have the same stainless finish of my other appliances but no big deal. I miss having some kind of digital display. But it’s “keep it simple”. Now we each get to pick whatever flavor we are in the mood for, pop in the k-cup, chose coffee, strong, and the amount, for us 12 ozs. It’s great. The coffee is way hotter than the Ninja. In fact that has been our biggest challenge, waiting for it to cool enough to drink. The frother worked beautifully, hot and frothy for our first pumpkin spice latte. The coffee is good but the best is no more pots to wash or grounds to empty. We are loving our Kuerig.

I’m 68 years old with bad knees and shoulders. For years I’ve used a self propelled wind tunnel. I thought it might be time to try something new. Important for me is easy to push. This little guy is pretty light weight. We put the pieces on and I like that most of the attachments are stored on the unit. However the pet hair roller does NOT store on board. The crevice attachment is lighted as is the base vacuum. All work well. I do not care for the hose and wand design. The hose is just too short for many of my routine jobs. I think the vacuum works well with a good suction and I love the swivel base and how it reaches under and through my furniture and chairs. The cylinder removes easily for emptying but I will have to check instructions for removing the dust and dirt residue that cling to the inside. It also moves pretty well between carpet, rugs and hard wood floors. I don’t particularly care for the placement of the power switch and the carpet roller on/off switch. I have to bend down a bit to reach it. Of course that is necessary because the whole handle is detachable for using the attachments on Upholstry or over head, etc. I think this is a decent vacuum but I might decide to look for a more heavy duty self propelled model if they still exist.

A thing of beauty

I love this toaster oven. It looks terrific in my kitchen with its stainless steel exterior and beautiful blue digital screen. This replaces a slightly smaller unit that is just about 2 years old. The set up was very easy and this oven, unlike most appliances now days, came with a cord long enough to reach a floor outlet. Since I was running out of counter space we purchased a neat little chrome kitchen cart and this oven fit perfectly. Be aware that it is advertised as a pizza oven and that means that they “bumped out” the back a bit to allow for a pizza to fit inside. It comes with two pans, round and rectangular. They are dark non stick and heavy duty. The controls are easily understood. I love the convection part. Although my other toaster oven was “supposed” to be convection with a fan, I NEVER heard it blowing and could not tell that it cooked things any faster. So far I’ve cooked frozen biscuits twice. Both batches, 4 & 6, came out beautifully and EVENLY golden brown, top and bottom. Using convection they were ready to eat in just about 15 minutes which included a pre-heat function. I really like that the digital display shows preheat and then begins the minutes remaining in the programmed cook time. My very favorite thing is the lighted oven. The light remains on during the cooking process so you can peek through the window to see if the toast is done! I did also cook cinnamon toast which came out perfectly evenly browned and melted. I haven’t been able to locate any Delonghi recipe app that features toaster oven recipes so I guess I misread that ad. I would highly recommend this oven! Digital is MUCH better than the old “knobs” with no display. The interior light is the BEST!

Fun but Huge

My new Ninja Foodi! We call it R2D2. This thing is HUGE. It weighs over 25lbs. It pressure cooks, slow cooks, crisps and air fries! I have always had an unreasonable fear of pressure cookers, but decided I would try this one since it has multiple uses and is simple to program. Beware, the box is huge (makes sense since the Foodi is huge). I say this because my husband had a hard time getting it inside. Before using it, my husband agreed to be the chief cook with this one. I literally am unable to lift it onto the counter and have no space to store it, either on the counter or in the cabinets. Those are the cons and pretty significant for lots of folks. The pros however are enough for us to decide to make a special utility cart to store it on. We both carefully read the manual so we could understand how it works. It has a neat chart, sort of a QuickStart guide. The best part is the cookbook included. It has many recipes with detailed instructions as well as a section that gives you guidelines for creating your own recipes which is also very helpful. We tried (accidentally) an advanced recipe called Upside Down Loaded Chicken Nachos. We didn’t notice that each recipe is rated as beginner, intermediate and advanced. My point is that the advanced recipe we chose was super simple and very good. We used frozen chicken breasts and followed the instructions to pressure cook them. We selected “pressure cook”, set it on high, entered the time and pressed start. There was a warm up delay of about 12 minutes, then it began the count down timer. The next step was to release the pressure, remove the pressure cooker lid, add a few more ingredients and use the crisper setting. The clean up was quick with the non stick, removable pot. Be sure to use silicone or non metal spoons. Ok so the bottom line is that I’m still afraid of pressure cookers AND I can’t lift this thing BUT we had a great time cooking together and love the simplicity of the operation and the different cooking methods all in one appliance. This will probably replace my air fryer. If you can find room to store it and can lift 30 pounds this is a fun and useful appliance. We will be keeping ours. Now if I can just get my husband to make that utility cart!

Expecting the best

We’ve used an APC battery backup for our computer for years. I never worry about the home office computer and peripherals. I know they are protected from power surges and we have ample time to shut down safely. We ordered this APC Pro for a very different use. We live in rural SC where cell coverage is not good. A while back we got a WeBoost cell phone booster that made our cell phone actually useable here at home. However,we are prone to power outages and decided battery backup could be a life saver in the event of power loss. The APC Pro was well packaged fairily sleek even though it is very heavy. The setup instructions weren’t particularly helpful for our application since we won’t be connecting a computer. We found the best placement in our den and simply plugged in the weBoost. Now we feel secure that this unit will protect the booster from power surges, but more importantly give us a few hours of ability to make cell calls in the event we lose power. I’m guessing we will put it to use as Hurricane Florence barrels toward us tonight! We maybe without power for days. That will be a real test of our APC.

Nice form

I was very excited to try my first 4K dvd movie night. We got the new Samsung unboxed and plugged in quickly and easily. It has a nice curved front and is smaller than my older BluRay DVD player. It connected easily to my internet with onscreen instructions. It comes with the typical apps like Netflix. We had done a little research and purchased our dvd movie we thought we would enjoy and at the same time showcase the 4K viewer experience. We chose Hostiles hoping we would enjoy the outdoor panorama. When we loaded the disk, it hummed quite loudly as it read the dvd. From that point it was very much like any BluRay dvd we’ve watched. I can truthfully say that our old tube plasma tv had a better display than any led we’ve owned. The 4K experience was ho hum. Can’t say if it was my tv, the dvd or the Samsung DVD player but I won’t be paying the extra money to pick 4K. The DVD player is nice but nothing special. By the way, Hostiles was great.

Nice Tv

This TV is replacing a Vizio 48” 3D as our secondary TV. My husband unpacked it and was able to pull it out of the box by convenient cutouts on the wrapping plastic. We ordered an outdoor OTA to pickup “live TV. Since it is a smart TV, we easily connected WiFi and since we are in a very rural area, we connected to Dish satellite TV. Unfortunately, none of these connections as we have them set up will offer 4K programming so I can’t speak to that important aspect yet. Our satellite internet provider restricts us to 420p and we have ordered a 4K joey from Dish and a 4K DVD player to acess the 4K services. However, All of the setup was very easy. There was a quick start sheet included but on line no true detailed guide that I could find. That being said, the on screen setup was VERY simple. The tv easily connected to my WiFi and once I entered my password everything began downloading with minimal input from me. If you want full benefit from online content, you will need to have an Amazon account. I already had one so just entered my password. There are many things I like about this tv, but there are many things to learn. I have always used custom color display setups. This tv adjusts colors based on each type input. Our dish is connected to hdmi 1. I can chose several precalculated color setting on hdmi1 or customize them to my taste for the Dish. Same is true for the antenna. That enables us to make the colors true to life based on the input we are using. Very nice featuresince all transmissions are not the same quality. The sound from the TV speaker seems to be pretty good. We generally use external speakers from a surround system, but haven’t set that up as yet. Another feature I enjoy is watching OTA (this TV calls it “live tv”). Nowadays, we can get a channel guide showing “upcoming” programming for OTA channels. Nice. Being “old school”, some of the many features are a bit confusing. I do miss seeing channel numbers and there are no numbers on the included remote. With our internet being satellite, we have to monitor our data usage. 150gigs per month. Streaming indiscriminately is not possible, and streaming is only allowed at 420p, anything over that is buffered (slooow). One nice feature for us is a data counter. I was able to set when our data replenishes each month, set a limit on how much data we want to use on programming and receive an alert when we reach it. Then there is Alexa. The remote is fairly small with no numerical keypad. To interact with Alexa, you have to hold the microphone button and speak to her. It works very well and she is very responsive. Personally, I prefer to “do it myself” but those who grew up in the tech age will probably enjoy this. One last thing that was a fun surprise. There is a screen saver when the tv is inactive. I looked up and some of my personal photos were scrolling through a slide show. I had forgotten that I had uploaded some pics to Amazon cloud drive last year. That was really cool that Alexa knew that. OR maybe kinda creepy! Lol. This is a cool tv and I can’t wait to see 4K programming. Try it, if you have good internet this is a game changer!

Most stores are offering Model OP302. Best buy is offer model OP301. What is the difference? Are the pot mitts included?

I believe that the difference is in the size of the pot. One is about 5 quarts, the other is 6.5 quarts. No mitts in mine.

how long does it take to brew 1 cup large (not xtra large) and 1/2 of coffee carafe

There is a preheat that we touch on the way to the bathroom. Whoever gets back to the kitchen touches the 1/2 carafe button and coffee is ready in under 4 minutes, maybe quicker. The single servings are quicker, maybe a minute.

Is it worth the Ninja Coffee Bar Thermal Carafe System, Stainless Carafe (CF 097) over the CF091? The CF091 has a glass carafe than can stay heated in the warming plate vs the CF097 that has a thermal carafe. Trying to decide if it's worth the extra $$

I have the glass. Don't know why I'd need the stainless. The opening on the cafe could be wider to facilitate washing it. Too small for my hand.
