This is my first “non-windows” laptop. I really wanted to like it, but I’m kinda struggling the OS which is Google Chrome. I’m not really sure what it should do as a laptop. There is ample on board storage, 128g, but there doesn’t appear to be much that you can actually do without being connected to the internet. It’s nice to be able to use the google play store for apps that you normally use on your phone or tablet. The laptop is lightweight and works beautifully as a tablet. The touchscreen is nice and the display is bright and crisp. The battery is about 6 hours and I did note that it got VERY warm while charging at least once. It’s nice for Facebook and web surfing since the display is larger than most tablets, but still lightweight. I’m just not sure that it can replace my actual 15.6 laptop or my Samsung 13” 2n1, with Windows 10. I haven’t yet figured out how to get my files, such as my photos to load from other devices without using cloud storage which we can’t do because of limited data. We also haven’t been able to connect to our HP printer. Still a work in progress.

Laptops are getting harder for me to use, I’m retired now and I use my iPad for everything cause it is so easy to grab and hold in my hand. There are times you just need a laptop for certain tasks like spreadsheets or photo editing and I have always had HP computers and printers. This new HP Envy is pretty sweet. It is much lighter weight and thinner than my old HP. It does not have a dvd drive so that is one reason for thinner and I think the lighter weight maybe the battery. I’ve noticed that the run time is only about 4 hours on a full charge which is not great. The display, however, is very nice. It seems to be fast and setup is easy. I do not like windows 10 so that is something I’m having to get used to. I think this will be a nice laptop for those times I need to do special tasks. The 360 degree feature and touch screen make it nice to use for internet searches while sitting on on the couch. I’m looking forward to transferring my photos to my new HP, but I’m gonna have to learn howto work without that dvd drive. We do not use cloud storage because we have limited data access via satellite. HP does computers right. This one does not disappoint.

This speaker with the Google Assistant built in is pretty cool. It comes in a very nicely boxed packaging. It would really wrap up nicely for a Christmas gift. I plugged it in and turned it on. Has only a couple of buttons on it. A voice immediatly told me to download the Google Home app which guided me through my wifi setup. The instructions on the app were clear and easy to follow. It learned my voice quickly. I haven’t really connected anything but my iPhone and iPad to try out the Bluetooth feature. Pairing was easy, but I did that using the quick start guide included with the speaker. Both devices paired smoothly. I’ve had fun using the google assistant to find and play music and give me my weather. She does frequently tell me that she “can’t help with that, I’m still learning.” The speaker is quite loud but easily adjusts. It picks up my voice in other rooms and seems to understand my speech better than “Siri.” Music is crystal clear and has a good tone. I’m NOT an audiophile however. I’m enjoying this new speaker and look forward to learning the limits of my “google assistant” while she learns my environment. I will say that I have a bit of paranoia about the access this gives to Google.

Wow! This product is big. There are many containers! I have never had a food processor, nor made homemade pasta. It was a bit intimidating at first. In fact, I was down right scared. There are a lot of blades and plenty of warnings about how sharp they are. I know this to be true, because I have a ninja chopper that has cut both me and my husband. I set up the blender for my first trial. When I plugged it in, there was a single red icon on the large black display. With some trepidation, I pressed the button. A beautiful display lit up showing several choices. My first choice to try was a smoothie concoction using frozen whole strawberries, peaches and vanilla ice cream. I loaded up the huge frozen strawberries, frozen peaches an ice cream. I put the lid on and pressed the smoothie button. Nothing happened. Hummmmm, had I already broken it? Nope, I checked the lid and hadnt clicked it in place properly. It has a kind of locking safety mechanism and doesn’t operate if not locked in place. Good! I pressed the button again and it began a program that involved a timer countdown with pauses. It did a great job. There is a pause/stop button, a pulse and lots of selections. I’m still trying to figure out all the containers. I think my next attempt will be curly fried sweet potatoes. I might become a good cook with my ninja! The smoothies turned out pretty good. I did have to scrape the sides (very carefully) several times and add milk to make it soupy enough to blend. Next time I will follow a recipe.

I have thousands of photos saved from trips taken over the years. I have kept them on my windows desktop until recently when I moved exclusively to Apple. I don’t want to pay for iCloud storage and it takes way too much time to upload all this data on my home network. This device is perfect for my needs. There were very minimal instructions included, so I just plugged in the little device to my power strip and connected my iPad via my lightening cord. My iPad began charging and a message popped up telling me I needed “the app.” I clicked the link and downloaded the app. That was it. It began scanning my contacts, then my photos. The first time took awhile and now each time I put the iPad to charge, the San Disk IExpand immediately checks for new contacts and photos. Easy, peasy. I also used it for my iPhone so now I feel comfortable that my treasured photos are protected by a backup. I like having my items backed up locally.

My husband and I are retired. We do trips in our motorhome leaving our dog and cat to be checked on daily by family. We wanted these cameras to check in on our babies to make sure all was well and to receive notifications of movement. I’ve only had one camera set up so far to watch the dog who has a doggie door on the back side of the house. The cat camera will be on the front. These are indoor cameras and I placed one on a bookcase faced toward the doggie door and her indoor crate. I followed the quick start directions, downloaded the d-link app to my iPhone and set up my account. Fairly simple to accomplish using my iPhone to scan a bar code on the bottom of the little camera and entering my email and password. I was easily able to connect to WiFi and was able to get a picture. The picture was bright and clear. There is a day mode, night mode and auto, which worked great. You can even snap a photo or record video directly on your device remotely. You can also use multiple devices, as long as you download the app and log in to your account. All nice to know. I understood how I would be able to log in remotely to check on my pup. After that, I frankly couldn’t figure out some of the fine tuning. I live in a rural area and get my internet via satellite which has very limited data plans in my area. I was concerned about streaming video constantly. I called support this morning to get some questions answered, relative to notifications and the ability to chose monitoring times. I do not want to keep a continuous data stream running on my WiFi. The rep was very patient with me and answered all my questions. Unfortunately, there is no on/0ff switch or a way to set dates and times for streaming only when we are away. When I’m home, I will have to unplug the camera to prevent streaming our daily movements. However, I believe I can remedy that by using my home router protocols when we will be out of town. With a couple of tweaks, I was able to narrow the “active” view to the dog crate and door. I think this is going to give some peace of mind when we leave our pets to vacation. Our son will get in trouble if I see an empty water bowl when I check in. Lol. This is a very nice gadget Giving us the ability to know if our little guys need help when we are away. Wish I had unlimited internet service, but do love living in the boondocks!

Received the cube with the merge VR goggles. I was intrigued with what this interesting box might do. I had never tried VR anything. Opened the package and found this small little black and silver cube. Read the minimal instructions and downloaded an app. With the help of my iPhone 7plus and the app, next thing I know, instead of holding the black box, I’m holding a tiny castle in my hand and shooting fireworks from the castle. There was also a kitten and a block of cheese. I’m an older consumer, but this might be fun with the more tech oriented younger generations. Looking forward to sharing it with my 11 year old grandson. I think there are games to be played with it, but confess that I haven’t searched them out. I will leave that job to him. You must use a smartphone with it and I’m pretty particular about not letting kids use my phone as a toy. Hopefully, but Not sure if it works with an iPod. I found it to be mildly interesting and for the price I nice little gadget to give as a potential “stocking stuffer” for the youngest techies.

I ordered these goggles to offer my grands something new in entertainment when they visit. Mine came with a bonus “Cube” I tried the Cube first to see what VR was all about. Set up seemed confusing and I was unclear if I had to have an account to play, or just download an app. Finally got an app and used it with my iPhone 7plus. I found the Cube to be mildly interesting. With my iPhone I was able to see a chunk of cheese, fireworks exploding and a tiny castle sitting in the palm of my hand in 3D as I rotated the Cube. Granted I’m of the elder generation so I very likely “missed” something in the experience. Anyway, I moved on to the goggles. They are quite bulky and seem to be made of a soft foam type substance. They have a slot on top to insert your phone. I ran a test on the merge site which said my iphone 7plus would give an “excellent experience.” My husband has an older smaller Samsung that tested poorly. Next I went to the App Store and chose a couple of apps to try. I had to remove the cover from my iPhone 7 Plus to put it inside the slot on the goggles. Even then it was a struggle to get it in. There is definitely a learning curve to play games. Videos are a bit easier to watch in 360 degrees. Warning, if you have motion sickness, these may not be a good choice for you. I enjoyed my experience, but truly it is more fun to watch someone else using them. The goggles make you look like an “outer space” cadet with your head bobbing up and down as you engage in the action. Lol. My 19 year old grandson came over today. It wasn’t long before he had his iPhone 7 (small one) loaded up with apps and games. He walked on the moon, went sky diving and rode a rollercoaster. He really enjoyed the experience. He is anxious to play online “call of Duty” with his buddies. I’m anxious for my 11 year grandson to try it out. In closing I would say it is an interesting gadget well suited for the young generation. Would probably make good Christmas gifts for those who enjoy games and tech.

I wanted this vacuum mainly for the hand held portion to replace my “dead” shark cordless. I have learned that most cordless appliances that I’ve purchased over the years will lose their ability to hold a charge if you just leave them on the charger much of the time. I also wanted it to use to vacuum my new car. As I unpacked it, I realized that the “hand” portion is also the main part with the motor, which makes sense. Once I installed the battery, and put it together it became pretty unwieldily. In otherwords quite “top heavy.” The floor attachment is smaller and lighter than the top making it awkward to hold. There is only one vacuum tube which is pretty long so that the whole vacuuming process feels awkward at first. But the controls are well placed and intuitive. The suction was impressive for a cordless vacuum. It picked up cat litter and hair easily. It is also easy to maneuver under and around stuff. There was another issue of how to store it or even just how to rest it when you stop for a moment. It won’t lean easily. The floor vacuum attachment can’t balance the handheld motor attachment and the whole thing just rolls and falls on the floor. There is no on-board holder for the attachments, and it did not come with any way to attach it to the wall to store or charge. You have to take it apart and place the handheld attachment on a flat surface to charge it. Finally, when I used it on my car it vacuumed up the sand nicely. The problem there is that the crevice cleaner is VERY short and attaching it directly to the BIG handheld made it difficult to get those things that fall between the seat and console and other tight places. If you add the tube connector, it becomes too long to work in the interior of the car. I’ve only had it a couple of days, so it remains to be seen how well the charge holds. It has a nice bright indicator to show the amount of charge and it charged relatively quickly the first time. I think it may work for those quick clean ups and to clean my car as long as I don’t drop any French fries between the seat and console! Time will tell!

I've had my Samsung Notebook Pro9 for a couple of weeks. I love it. I've been using apple products for a long time, iPad, iPhone and recently a desktop Mac. I love my phone and iPad but hate the Mac. I needed to replace my laptop and this 13" 2n1 became available. When it arrived, I was thrilled to see how light weight it was. The case is very attractive and appears very well constructed. The 13" size is perfect. I almost prefer it to my 9" iPad. The ability to use it as a tablet and as a laptop is great! Something's are just easier on a laptop but the larger screen tablet is really convenient as well for surfing or social media stuff. It is so easy to flip it to tablet, set it in my lap and use the touchscreen. The keypad in laptop mode is perfect. Now for the bad. I do not like Windows 10 and that Is putting it mildly. For that reason, I will keep my Apple stuff, but the form, function and feel of this laptop is great and I highly recommend it. I will use it for the times that those apple screen and keypads aren't big enough.

You can program a number of options, but we have ours at the preset 2 hours.

how long does it take to brew 1 cup large (not xtra large) and 1/2 of coffee carafe
There is a preheat that we touch on the way to the bathroom. Whoever gets back to the kitchen touches the 1/2 carafe button and coffee is ready in under 4 minutes, maybe quicker. The single servings are quicker, maybe a minute.

Is it worth the Ninja Coffee Bar Thermal Carafe System, Stainless Carafe (CF 097) over the CF091? The CF091 has a glass carafe than can stay heated in the warming plate vs the CF097 that has a thermal carafe. Trying to decide if it's worth the extra $$
I have the glass. Don't know why I'd need the stainless. The opening on the cafe could be wider to facilitate washing it. Too small for my hand.
