Perfect for a home office or college student
on August 13, 2017

This printer is perfect for someone who is in college or a small home office. It does lack the ability to fax, but in this day and age, you can snap a photo with your phone and email it, so that wasn't a big deal to me. You can however scan to your email address or computer and email it that way.
To completely setup this printer you will need to have either a computer, tablet or smartphone. For some, this may not be preferred, but for me it went smoothly. There are apps built-in to the printer that will allow you to connect to stamps.com, print off mazes, to do lists, etc. It has its own email address so even when you are out and about you can print something via email. It comes with two small cartridges that were easy to install.
This is definitely a small printer and would not really work well for medium to heavy use, but would be perfect for students or a small, home business. All in all, I really liked this printer. It also has the option of using HP's Instant Ink program that allows you to choose from three differently monthly plans, based on your usage and it will automatically ship to you replacement ink cartridges. The smallest plan is $2.99/month for someone who averages roughly 50 pages of printing per month. You can co up to 1500 printed pages per month for about $10. Not a bad deal to me as it would avoid the hassle of having to run to the store at the moment when I need to print something and for $3, I think its worth the investment in my time. You can cancel at anytime, so its worth the try.

My first juicer
on July 29, 2017
Posted by: TechFan

As far as juicers go, I am a newbie. Knowing that my wife has been trying to convince me to juice for a year now, I decided to try this out.
I must say it is pretty impressive. It is pretty easy to put together and even easier to clean. We tried a variety of fruits and veggies and the thing I noticed the most is that there were no strings, pulp or residue in the glass after mixing the fruit. I expected there to be something, but it was all captured in the bin below the juicer.
It is also surprisingly quiet for a juicer in my opinion and pretty easy to use. It even comes with a small pitcher that can be used to store your concoctions in. It also came with a recipe book, but most of the fun was just throwing different things in the juicer just to see what it would taste like. I must admit, I liked our beet, carrot, orange, ginger and honey mixture the best. Didnt sound great when we were doing it, but I've had worse.
All in all, i think this juicer is very well built, easy to use and quite fun. The only thing I would be apprehensive about is the price, but as i said, I'm new to juicing so maybe this is in line with a quality machine. I gave it four stars because of the price, but other than that I would recommend it.

Not bad, but hoped for better

In this price range I would consider these to be premium headphones. I have had quite a few different pairs of Bluetooth headphones over the past several years including Studio Beats, B&W P7's, Audio-Technica DSR7BT's and Plantronics Back Beat Pro's to name a few. Having said this I expected a pretty good set of headphones based on their reputation and having used the previous JBL Everest model.
I'm said to say that I am somewhat disappointed in the overall performance of these. The sound quality at lower volume levels is pretty good and has decent clarity. The bass comes out really distorted and not really as tight as it should be. I downloaded the app and played with the EQ settings and found that turning it off provided me with the best balance between lows, mids and highs.
The TruNote Auto Calibration in the app, actually made the sound worse, so I ended up not using it. The only way I could actually find to turn it off after it calibrated, was to turn the headphones off and then back on and the TruNote audio was off. I did like the noise cancellation within the app. I often changed the settings based on what I was doing so that I could be aware of what was going on around me, when the situation required it.
The buttons on the headphones have taken some getting used to also. Instead of double or triple tapping the buttons to change the track, you have to hold the button for 3 secs. This is somewhat annoying and when you are wearing them, it is somewhat difficult to distinguish between the buttons.
The headphones were certainly comfortable to wear for an extended period of time and I never got the sore neck or heavy head that I get with some other over the ear headphones. I do appreciate being able to use the line cord if the battery dies and I liked the carrying case also with the picture on it that shows you how to fold the headphones to fit them in the case.
Overall, these are decent headphones, but for this price, I might consider some other options. I would recommend them for the comfort, good battery life and good noise cancellation. However, if you want good bass and easy toggling for volume and changing the tracks on your device, these aren't the best.

Great quality, but pretty big unit

I couldn't wait to get my hands on this projector. I had been holding off on buying another TV since my two boys have broken two of them in my man cave and I wasn't thrilled with the possibility that I was sending another one to the slaughter. I had planned to mount the new one on the wall like i should have to begin with. Then this projector became available and I think it will solve my problem. I will admit, i didn't know much about projectors before getting this, so I did some research online and spoke to some sales people at my local Best Buy.
It came in a plain brown box that was much bigger than I thought it would be. This projector weighs over 22 lbs and is pretty wide. Unboxing was easy enough and it comes with a remote with the batteries and some HDMI clamps. I plugged this into my Dish Box and then an optical cable from the box to my receiver. I was waiting to receive the projector before i bought a mount and other accessories, so i put the projector on a bar height table that i moved behind a couch in my man cave and turned it on. After playing with some settings and adjusting the focus, I turned the projector and that is where i fell in love.
I haven't bought a screen yet because the research i have done says there are so many options for size, features, etc, that I decided to just wait until i set it up and then get one. I have 20' wall that is painted a neutral tan that I projected the image onto. I couldn't have been more surprised at the clarity and refresh of the projector. There was no noticeable lag and the image was very impressive for it being on a wall as opposed to a screen. I adjusted the legs to make the picture straight and even played with moving the projector closer to the wall and further back to see what size picture works best for me. It has multiple adjustments to frame size, focus, color, you name it. It does not have wireless built-in, but it seems you can buy a dongle that will make it wireless.
There are also no instructions that come with it, other than a quick start guide. It has a CD-Rom that has the instructions on it. This doesn't do much good if you have a laptop without a CD drive, but I was able to manage. The only things left for me to do is buy a screen, mount and cut some holes in my walls to add an outlet where I am going to mount the projector and run the HDMI cable through the ceiling to the area behind my receiver. My wife wasn't exactly thrilled to hear that, but being that I am the king of my man cave and because she said I could, i am going to break out the electrical tools and get to work.
As I said, this in my first projector, but so far I couldn't be happier with it. Keep in mind that there is no separate audio connection for this projector. You will have to use the HDMI cable and plug it into a receiver in order to get audio or you can do as i stated in the second paragraph. I would definitely recommend this projector.

Great Speaker, poor instructions
on June 21, 2017
Posted by: TechFan

My sons love to build things, so i thought this would be a good project for the three of us to do together. I broke open the box and laid the pieces out and the first problem was that there were no actual instructions. The manual tells you to download an app from the Apple Appstore and it will walk you through building the speaker. Of course, my iPhone was dead, so i decided to see if the app was available in the Google Play store. It was not. It wasn't difficult to figure out how to put it together, other than what the coil and magnet does in conjunction with the speaker.
I decided that we would figure that out the next day after my iPhone had charged. I downloaded the iPhone app and figured out how to use the coil and magnet and all was finally right with the world. My sons and I rocked out to the Sing soundtrack and had a ball.
This speaker paired easily with my iPhone and subsequently, their Kindle tablet and has very impressive sound. It was plenty loud and has stencils that can be installed to customize the speaker cube and with the push of a button, you get colors that light up the cube. All in all, this was pretty fun to do with my kids.
My complaints are the lack of instructions and no available app for the Google Playstore. I have my iPhone, but my kids have the Kindle's so a Google app would be ideal. I give this four stars because of the fun I spent with my two little guys building this and the sound quality of it. I took away one star for the lack of written instructions and no app available outside of the Apple App Store.

Good, but could be so much better

I was actually looking at purchasing some Beats Solo3 wireless headphones when I saw these. If you are looking for headphones that are bass heavy, these are not it. If you prefer a well-balanced set of headphones that are comfortable, with decent features, these may be for you.
These are extremely comfortable and very stylish as well. Although how they look has little to do with how well they sound, I wanted something that looked high tech and stylish. These fit the bill.
I listen to a variety of music ranging from jazz, R&B and Hip-Hop to Pop, Opera, and Spoken Word. With these headphones, I hear a wider range of the musical spectrum. The mids and highs are more clear, the bass is tight, but not as loud as my Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2’s.
I don't like that there are essentially two separate volume controls. When you change the volume on the headphones, it doesn't adjust the volume on your device like most headphones. The volume does increase or decrease, but its just a weird setup to me. The controls on the earpiece are difficult to get used to and are on the same side as the volume control. There also isn’t a physical button to change the track, it’s a touch sensitive button. I haven’t gotten used to this yet.
I used these with my iPhone 7+ and with my Samsung Galaxy Tab S3. I know one of the key features of these headphones is the APTx codec, but my iPhone doesn't accept that it and although I thought my Samsung tablet did, I could never really find a definitive answer. The APTX is supposed to play music at a higher bitrate, which provides a better overall sound. These headphones may be great when using a different device, but using my iPhone and Samsung Tablet, the headphones were just good.
Overall, I really wanted to love these headphones, however, I just ended up liking them. For this price point, I would expect to have active noise cancellation and the ability to use them as a wired headphone. I would recommend these, but there may be better options available at or near this price point. Such as the B&W P5 or P7’s.
Pros:
- Very Comfortable
- Stylish looking
- Good overall sound quality
- Great battery life
Cons:
- Headphones controls could be better
- Instructions for connecting to a MAC caused poor sound quality
- No Active Noise Cancellation
- No ability to use headphones with cord if the battery dies

Ok headphones, nothing really special

I had my 5 and 6 year old sons try these out and its kind of hard to determine whether they liked the headphones or the fact that they got something new, but they both said they like them. The main thing I liked about these headphones is that they limit the maximum amount of decibels that can be heard through them. My kids both have tablets and when we are on road trips, i prefer they use headphones so my wife and I don't have to hear them.
I give them four stars only because of the sound limiting feature. Other than that, these are pretty basic headphones.

Pretty good little speaker
on May 12, 2017
Posted by: TechFan
from Ohio
My wife and I have taken to buying and renovating homes and for me, having some music is a necessity when doing this type of work. I have several jobsite radios including a Bosch and Dewalt Toughsystem radio. The sound is incredible from both, but the problem is they are both huge. Lugging them around the jobsite and getting them on and off my truck isn't the most or the easiest task. Insert the Lifeproof AQ10.
For a speaker of this size, the sound is pretty amazing. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't compete with the overall sound of the previous mentioned radios that I own, but for its size, I cant complain. I can store this in my toolbox or underneath the back seat in my pickup truck, unlike my other units.
For all of the positives having to do with its sound, size and ease of use, there are some things that I wish were made differently on this speaker. Its advertised as a waterproof speaker, but it does me no good if I cant store even an iPod Touch in the compartment to keep it waterproof. If you look at the pictures, I took the case off, which I don't like to do, just to see if it would fit inside of the compartment and when I did, it would not fully close. Big problem for me because whether I'm in the water or working at a house, I prefer to have my device protected inside of something. The compartment will only hold some cash and credit cards, but not keys or a key fob like most push to start vehicles use these days. If a larger compartment is what you need, I would suggest checking out the AQ11.
I also wish that the usb port to charge the device was inside of the compartment. If I did have something that would fit inside of the compartment, I would rather have it charge there, as opposed to having to leave the compartment open and plug it in to the side.
Pairing and setup were easy and I used the speaker at work in my office for about 9 straight hours and I still had battery life left. The speaker came about 3/4 full, but I just plugged it in to get a full charge before my first use.
While the negatives that I pointed out above may not apply to everyone, the speaker is still worth the purchase. I would definitely recommend this.
Pros:
- Great sound for a speaker this size
- Great battery life
- Compact size, easy to store
- Good instructions and easy to use
Cons:
- Small compartment, will probably only fit an iPod Nano or similar
- USB port is on the outside of the compartment instead of inside

Overall a decent system
on May 9, 2017

I haven't used a soundbar before, but definitely wanted to get one for my bedroom to increase the quality of sound from my TV when listening to movies and music. This soundbar has nice highs and blends the sound pretty well for a device this small. The bass subwoofer leaves a bit to be desired, but I don't really care to create a dance club atmosphere in my bedroom.
The remote controls every aspect of this soundbar from volume of the subwoofer, switching from TV to usb, etc. I found that to be a great feature. Setup was extremely easy and included the optical cable to connect to my TV or cable box. I wish it had at least one HDMI input, but given that optical is still a digital signal, I am content with it at this price point.
All in all, I would consider this to be an entry level soundbar with decent sound, but lacking some features, such as HDMI and better quality bass subwoofer, but I would still recommend this for areas like a bedroom/study or to supplement additional speakers in your sound system.

The brightness is adjustable. It can give off light equivalent to a standard 60 watt bulb (default) but with the app, you can make the light brighter. If I remember correctly, its about 2400 lumens. For example, a 60 watt bulb is about 750-850 lumens.

I had that problem too initially, but I took the phone out and re-installed the phone into the case paying careful attention to making sure that the volume/vibrate button was installed correctly in the slot.
