Accessories Make All the Difference for Your GoPro!
Any GoPro owner knows that the camera alone can only do so much. To unlock its full potential, you'll need the right accessories. I opted for the Platinum Essential Accessory Kit. This kit includes a head strap, chest strap, floating handle, extendable pole, suction cup mount, 6-inch tripod, 2 tripod-to-GoPro adaptors, 2 thumb screws, 2 quick-release buckles, a safety tether cable, and a carrying case. It's an extensive set to cater to your various needs.
Unfortunately, some of the accessories arrived in a separate box, and not all of them fit in the provided carrying case. It's a minor inconvenience, but it would be nice if everything could be neatly stored together.
Head and Chest Straps: The head strap is easily adjustable and surprisingly comfortable, although it might make you look a bit funny. Personally, I prefer the chest strap as it's even more comfortable and allows for quick attachment and detachment of the GoPro, making it easy to review footage on the fly.
Extendable Pole Essential: The extendable pole is a must-have for any GoPro owner. The grip handle feels good initially, but I suspect it might wear out with frequent use over time.
Handy Mini Tripod: I've found the 6-inch mini tripod to be perfect for vlogging. Just remember, you'll need the tripod-to-GoPro adaptor to use this accessory, but it's a breeze to attach.
Suction Cup Mount: The suction cup mount is a versatile accessory that can attach to any flat surface, like a car. It's easy to install, much like an old-school navigation system. Just like with the mini tripod, you'll need a mount adaptor to connect your GoPro.
Floating Handle for Water Adventures: The bright yellow floating handle with a blue wrist strap fits comfortably in your hand and doesn't require an adaptor. It's a fantastic addition for any water-related activities.

Clean air for the nursery guaranteed

We primarily wanted this shark air purifier max for our son’s nursery. I was positively surprised how easy it was set up and by how efficiently it purifies the air in the entire second story of our house. The purifier runs quietly; however, the noise level on the highest setting might be bothersome to some people.
When on the auto setting, the purifier constantly monitors air quality and particles. The purifier kicks in as needed and makes a noticeable difference in the air quality. While we did not get this purifier to remove odors, the smell of fresh, clean air is a pleasant side effect. A great feature is that the purifier shows how polluted the air is and how long it will take to purify. The filter is recommended to be replaced every 6 to 12 months. The replacement process is super simple and should not take longer than a few minutes.
At first, I was bothered by the blue display light on the front of the purifier which kept me up at night, however, I later found out that there is a dimming feature and an option to completely turn off the LED display.
Another great feature for all parents out there is the child lock feature, which prevents children from changing the settings.

Premium sound, ANC, and travel case

The Technics Wireless Noise Cancelling Over-Ear Headphones (EAH-800) is a great set of headphones for commuting and travel. The EAH-800 folds into the premium feeling travel case that contains an airplane adapter and charging cable. It has a 50 hour battery life, there is more metal than plastic when compared to Sony or Bose, and the noise cancelling is very good. The music experience with the technics is overall good with clear range that does not get muddled with bass heavy drivers.
When receiving a call with the EAH-800s on, I was able to hold a conversation in a noisy city environment without any issues. Alternatively, I could switch off the active noise cancellation with two taps on the right earcup to turn of the active noise cancelling so I could hear what is going on around me. One feature which I have expected is the ability two connect to two devices. However, I had to download the Technics app to enable multi device connectivity. The default is 1 device connectivity. In addition, I could not connect more than two devices at one time. Once I connected a third device one of the two already connected devices would get kicked off.
Another issue for me with these headphones was the button placement for volume up and down. I have become accustom to touch gestures to modify volume levels or clear spacing between the volume and pause/play buttons. I think a way to make this product better out of the box is to default to multipoint connectivity instead of making the user opt in to a now standard feature through an app.
At this point I am nit picking small things, but when you use something everyday to commute you soon realize these small things can become big annoyances over the course of 1-5 years. Only you know what small things for someone else would become a big issue for you.
So with premium build quality, premium sound quality, and premium active noise cancellation, why is the EAH-800 not as popular as Bose or Sony? I think there is room to grow for the Technics but it is more along the lines of refining their touch gestures and headphone features in a commuter setting rather than the sound and active noise cancelling. As of right now, the EAH-800 are tough to beat when it comes to the sound and active noise cancelling combination; when you add a 50 hour battery life you start to look past the minor shortcomings.

One of the biggest fears of new parents is making sure your child is still breathing. With the Stork Vitals plus I am rest assured that there is a heart beat coming from my baby and if there are any issues then an alarm will go off which can be annoying if it is a false alarm, but I’d rather be safe than sorry. The 2k camera along with he silicon stork boot work well together to make sure I have eyes on the baby and have a heart beat. The App was easy to find and use. The stork boot is super soft silicon and while there are other options that may be more comfortable, I don’t think any of them have the medical device background that Massimo has. The star of the show is the sensor which can be placed in the small or larger sized boot. The app provides ambient temperature information, oxygen saturation, temperature, pulse rate and when any drastic change happens I get notified. Overall what Massimo is selling is a medical device that provides peace of mind, and if hospitals rely on their sensors for their machines I can’t think of a reason why I wouldn’t trust them with the vitals of my baby.

I retrofitted my blinds with Ryse and it was easy to install. I tested the Ryse on blinds with metal and plastic beaded chain blinds and there were no issues with the Ryse on a 69”width window covering. I decided to install the Ryse in a difficult to pull window treatment behind a bed headboard. Before the Ryse, the window was always covered by the blinds because it was such a pain to open and close the blinds behind the headboard, but now all I need to do is hit a button. Now, if you want to take it a step further you’ll need to get the hub to get smart and get voice control features. All in all I think I will buy two more to fit the rest of the problem blinds in my house because it solves a problem I have had which was impacting the amount of light entering my home. Now I can easily control the natural light instead of always having the blinds closed. If you want to get the most you need to get the hub to get into more complex tasks which may be worth it to you, depending on what your needs are.

Solid Portable projector

The LG cinebeam is a good portable projector that is perfect for family get togethers and to travel with. I used the cinebeam at the beach, in the living room, and in my family’s backyard with no issues. The cinebeam has streaming apps built in that are very convenient and you can also stream content from your phone easily enough. Set up is easy but the only issue is adjusting the angle/height of the projector. Other projectors have a built in monopod type system that lets you easily adjust the height, not so with this projector. I can easily connect Bluetooth peripherals but the height adjustment is the most annoying aspect. This is not a super HD projector, but it is very good at 1080P due to the portability and the simplicity of the cinebeam. At the end of the day, I can take this projector with me, the image is good, wireless capabilities are good. The only thing that would have made this better would have been a battery so I can use it completely wirelessly but the small package and all the nice features are worth the lack of battery.

I have had various gaming monitors, ultra wide monitors, and even a combo of the two (an ultra wide gaming monitor). Gaming support for ultrawide screens has improved dramatically, but you will still want to have the Flawless Widescreen software handy just in case the game you want to play is too old/doesn’t support widescreen monitors.
I have had TN, VA, IPS screens and they all have their pros and cons. However, none of them have the color reproduction that OLED has. As an immersive gameplay gamer you might say that all you need is a Widescreen for an immersive RPG, racing, or simulator experience. The Samsung Odyssey OLED G95SC delivers that. As a first person shooter gamer all you want is a high refresh rate and some say you need to be able to see the entire screen without having to crane your neck left and right. The Samsung Odyssey OLED G95SC delivers a 240Hz refresh rate and you can constrain your game play to a smaller portion of the massive 49” screen 1800 curved screen, or you can play Overwatch 2 or Warzone in an immersive 49” screen, the choice is yours.
The 5120X1440 resolution might be difficult to get high frames per second on some FPS games, but you can always upgrade your graphics cards later, and I find I keep my gaming monitors longer than I keep my graphics cards. There are some quirks that come with an ultrawide that has a 32:9 aspect ratio but my comment would be to use something like Flawless Widescreen to resolve that issue. While this may seem like a compromise, it is solely lack of ultrawide support from the game developers. Also, The Samsung Odyssey comes with Samsung’s variety of Tizen which means you get a remote control with the 49” screen. So if you have this set up in a small space, it can easily double as your television in your room. As I mentioned earlier, nothing is going to beat OLED in terms of color reproduction so if you are looking for something to game on, look at large spreadsheets (productivity/work), and to watch netflix, hulu, Disney + etc then this is a no brainer.

However, I use external bookshelf speakers or headphones as I always have with every high end gaming monitor I have had, because you’re buying the monitor for the visuals, not the sound. If you are able to pick one up you will not regret it.

A must have travel companion

The Maxcam360c Is a great all in one travel companion! It is a dashcam and a radar detector which saves space on your windshield. Setup was quick and easy, and the app is easy to use. I had to download a few firmware updates which took about 25 minutes, after that it was a breeze. The suction cup mount has a strong magnetic rectangular attachment which is where the Maxcam 360c mounts (there is a rectangular cut out at the top of the unit) and dismounts with ease.
The audio and video of the dashcam is perfect for viewing license plates and will definitely capture any events that occur in front of your car. Now, the radar detector portion requires trail and error type set up. This thing went crazy in city streets! I was hearing crazy beeps everywhere, so whenever I kept getting radar hits consistently I would store the signal to “lock out” the signal, meaning I wont get the annoying beeps coming from the unit.
When driving on the freeway it was a lot more useful since you don’t encounter radar very much. I programmed the unit to let me know when I go over 75MPH and it will remind me that I am going over speed, which is nice but can be annoying for others. Overall, this unit is compact, user friendly, and I will probably buy another one to put in my other vehicle.

Apple Watch connectivity issues

I have tested out the Shokz OpenFit for over a week and I can say they are great if you run with your phone. The open ear concept is great for runs out doors where you want to make sure you are able to hear your surroundings. The materials on the OpenFit are soft, bendy, comfortable, and have touch sensitive controls. I have issues with earbuds falling out during runs and I did not have that issue with the OpenFits, since the over ear hooks kept them in place. One thing to note is that the OpenFits DO NOT use bone conduction technology, instead they use air conduction technology which I found to be not as effective as bone conduction.
The carrying case is good and uses a USB C charging cable. The OpenFits snap into place in their protective charging/carrying case. I went on 10 runs so far with the OpenFits and I found that I had no issues listening to music when I was carrying my phone, however when I ran with my Apple Watch and tried listening to my running playlist (that is downloaded to the Apple Watch) the OpenFits stopped playing music half way through my run. In fact, my songs would randomly stop without any input from mm on the touch sensitive OpenFits. I thought this issue might be a fluke, but I ran three separate times while only wearing my Apple Watch and had the same connectivity issue with the OpenFits. The entire reason I wanted the OpenFits is to run with my smart watch, not my phone. If I didn’t have consistent issues I would rate these a 5, but the connectivity issue kept breaking my stride when going on a 30 minute run.

This is a phenomenal lightweight entertainment machine! The Asus ZenBook comes with a 14.5" OLED display, an i7 Processor, 16GB Memory, and 512GB SSD hard drive. The ZenBook is .66” thick, weighs 3.5 pounds, and has a nice aluminum case that makes it feel like a premium product. All in all, this is meant for schoolwork and entertainment. You can easily work on a word document, excel, or PowerPoint on the ZenBook. While there isn’t a physical 10-key the touch pad can display a 10-key in the touch pad area which was much better than I anticipated when doing some minor excel work. At 3.5 pounds it is easily transported and doesn’t add much weight or take up too much space in a backpack or messenger bag. Now the most important aspect of the ZenBook to me is the OLED display. I have been rewatching the sopranos recently and I found myself unexpectedly testing out the OLED display on the ZenBook. The blacks were perfect with no graying from a backlit LED screen, this led to a much more desirable viewing experience which translates to better consumed YouTube videos and cinematic content. The only thing I could have asked for was for the ZenBook to have a tablet mode so that I could have more flexibility when using the ZenBook for entertainment purposes.
