The drift meditation sand table is something I didn’t realize would help me relax, even though it’s in the name. I thought I would give it a shot even though I didn’t think it would do much for me. With that ebing said, I was definitely distracted from my stressful days while I watched the drift table do its thing and literally make my mind drift away from the stresses of working from home. I emptied the fine sand into the bowl and placed the tiny metal bearing/ball where I felt the magnet attract the ball. I connected the drift table to my phone via Bluetooth and finished set up. I downloaded and loaded a vaiety of patterns to through the app and the drift table started creating patterns with different lighting. Again, I thought this was just something that wouldn’t do much for me but I ended up being able to take my mind of things by getting lost in the patterns. One of the biggest drawbacks of working from home for me is that I can’t seem to break away from work and have found myself continuously thinking about wok. For whatever reason the patterns on the drift table help disconnect work and relax my mind. I don’t fully understand why that is, but the patterns are complex and beautiful.

Awesome for productivity

The HP LaserJet Pro MFP 4101fdwe was easy to set up and HP provides a youtube video to easily show a step by step guide for those that require a bit more help in setting things up. I set up the printer on my WIFI network in a few minutes and was ready to go. This is a perfect sized printer for a home office. It packs double sided scanning and duplex printing in a small package but is able to perform at the same level as much larger printers you would normally see in a corporate office setting.
The HP Smart app makes printing and scanning from my iPhone very easy. Last but not least, this printer is very fast and efficient. I like being able to manage where my scanned documents are stored and I am able to set up multiple users so that I do not get my workflow mixed with anyone else’s. The thing I like the most is being able to sue my phone, laptop, desktop, or tablet to print anything I need. I have absolutely hated having to send myself an e-mail only because the file was available on my phone and not my desktop. The HP Smart app solves this issue across mobile devices and it is a much bigger deal than I thought it was going to be.

Gaming on the go - WHOOOOOOSH

Low profile gaming laptop that doesn’t scream GAMER unless you want it to, and only on start up. The most annoying thing about the laptop is loud gamer sound on startup that I need to change in the BIOS. No one wants to hear a loud WOOOOSH in the middle of the night. The laptop is packed with all of the specs a gamer wants,1TB SSD, 3070Ti, 240Hz refresh rate, RGB keyboard, 16GB DDR5 RAM, and an i7 processor. All of this makes the laptop capable of overkilling most games out there. Now on to the number of ports: there is 1 UCB-C, 3 regular USB ports, headphone jack, ethernet, HDMI, and mini-DP. As far as performance goes, the Helios handled everything well. Monster Hunter, Cyberpunk, F1 racing, DOOM. It’s the nature of the gaming world, this is a top of the line gaming laptop and is capable of running everything on the market. Give it a few years and it’ll be able to run most things at medium settings which I am more than ok with. As with all gaming laptops this does get hot while gaming and it could get uncomfortable if left in your lap, so just be cognizant of that. I expect to see 2 to 3 hours of battery life, a large power brick, and excessive heat from gaming laptops. It is when a gaming laptop doesn’t obnoxiously yell at everyone with the aesthetics that it’s a gaming laptop but gives you the option via RGB to do so that I begin to get interested. Lastly, the Helios doesn’t weigh as much as a lead brick, which also is welcomed for a gaming laptop. All in all, the specs and aesthetics are there and I just need to remedy the WHOOOOSH sound at start up.

Perfect college laptop for a gamer

The Alienwa x14 R1 14” is a good portable gaming laptop with a solid 144Hz refresh rate. While it isn’t as powerful as other gaming laptops that are larger, it isn’t meant to be a desktop replacement and therefore it won’t break your wrists with the amount of weight that comes with desktop like performance. In fact this is the perfect laptop for the gamer college student. The RGB aesthetics are there and the performance from the GTX 3070Ti are obvious. You can play most FPS and racing games without any issue. In fact, I plugged in the x14 R1 and was playing F1 on the big screen on the living room without any lag! I bring this up because it is an avenue I don’t see exploited very much. I will try to play racing games on the big screen or VR games on the big screen so that others can be entertained as well. The easiest way to do this is with a gaming laptop unless you want to have a dedicated gaming PC for the living room… Dell G7 is a desktop replacement gaming machine that mixes aluminum and plastic well to provide a premium product that is not a fingerprint magnet. The i& is more than enough for productivity and gaming, and the 512GB hard drive is enough for a few a blockbuster games. Unfortunately more and more games want to hog hard drive space and it is becoming a big issue. The 16GB of RAM is also a good amount for gaming ad productivity. This is the reason I stated the x14 R1 is the perfect combo for a college student, performance in a to go package

This product provides peace of mind, plain and simple. One of the areas I am more than willing to make sure I have peace of mind is with my baby. The app is a must have to be able to track quality of sleep, sleep patterns, and how long the baby has slept. So while the sock is doing it’s thing monitoring sleep, heart rate, and oxygen levels, the camera is in the background watching and listening to the baby. If the baby starts to cry then you get alerted, and the sound detection software used is very good at determining whether or not the baby is crying or just making baby noises. One of my biggest concerns was the baby developing a rash from constantly putting on a sock on the same foot, however two right and two left socks are included so I can alternate feet and avoid the issue entirely! This is a different level of baby monitor that I did not see growing up and I think it is a phenomenal tool to assist new parents such as myself in giving me peace of mind, and timing when the baby is highly likely to need a nap based on historical data.

Adhesive needs help but highly customizable lights

This is my first time using Twinkly dots and I think I will use them again once they remedy the adhesives they use. The product is nicely packaged and the app is very user friendly. I was able to create light patterns once the lights were installed, and I was enjoying the different light patterns but a few of the dots wouldn’t adhere to the wall. I ended up cutting a few pieces of 3M tape and the dots stuck to the wall. Not a big deal, but still something I didn’t expect I would have to do. On the plus side the light strings were very flexible. That brings me to another issue or feature (depending on your usage) is that this product isn’t one long string, it’s two separate strings of lights which could be an issue if you are trying to run a single long string. I can see how two strings could be good to wrap around a television or something like that, but I think having two strings limits what you can do with the patterns. The lights themselves are so customizable and the app is so good that the core product twinkly lights produces is excellent, they just need to improve the adhesive used and consider a modular stringing option where you can opt for two strings or just have one long string.

Perfect productivity and entertainment monitor

If you want something for FPS or racing look elsewhere. However, if you are looking for a good size monitor that DOUBLES as a smart TV then this is perfect. This monitor has Tizen built in. Tizen is Samsung's smart TV software that enables you to download apps such as streaming services directly form your TV. This monitor is perfect for an office that doubles as a guest room. For me, this is a game changer because my office doubles as a guest room and my guests don't need to fiddle around with a computer and can use the included remote to access apps such as Hulu, Netflix, Disney Plus, etc. If there is an ap on the google play store, you can download it on the monitor/TV. Now as for productivity goes, I can comfortably review word documents and excel spreadsheets at various viewing angles. If I was in college and in a dorm room, this would be the perfect monitor since it doubles as a smart TV. Now the reason I said look elsewhere if you want FPS or racing is because the monitor has a 60Hz refresh rate. However if you're ok with that refresh rate in FPS or racing then this will fulfill all your needs now and later.

I am seeing steelcase desk accesories more and more. I was skeptical at first as to how good this office chair would be, but the amount of adjustment I can make in this chair is surprising The arms are fully adjustable, the seat can be adjusted forward or backward, you can adjust the amount of tension required to make the chair tilt back, adjust the height, and have different reclining stopping points. The chair can be adjusted in so many ways that I can easily game or work comfortably for 10+ hours. The wheels are extremely quiet when rolling and the chair is minimalistic and attractive. It doesn't scream GAMER CHAIR which is what I was expecting from a gaming brand. The chair itself is heavy, so while assembly is simple and is only 3 pieces, it can be difficult for some. All in all I like the ergonomics, the high quality materials, and the aesthetics of this office chair. I did not think I would like this chair as much as I do, but it is hard to deny the well thought out product that Steelcase has produced.

This was extremely easy to use and my parents truly appreciate the gift. At first glance you might think this product is useless, and that may very well be the case for you. However, your technologically challenged loved ones will love it. I set up an account and was able to begin uploading pictures to the digital frame immediately after setup. I set up the frame in my parent’s home wifi and loaded one picture. After leaving, I remotely uploaded two additional pictures to the frame without telling my parents and they called me shortly after to tell me more pictures were showing up. I let them know this is how I will be able to provide them updated pictures of myself and my family. Needless to say they couldnt wrap their head around how it worked but truly appreciated the thoughtfulness. If you have a technologically challenged loved one that would love numerous pictures of you or you and your family then this gift is perfect. It looks like a photo frame and is easy to use and I don’t think every picture needs to be on social media. The fact that you don’t need to manually connect to the frame makes updating the pictures easy to do anywhere in the world. The next time I travel somewhere I can upload a family photo to the digital photo frame so my parents can enjoy the pictures.

Versatile workflow and entertainment

Compact, feature rich laptop that is ready to go wherever you want. I have used this laptop in tablet mode numerous times while in bed to watch videos and switched it back to a traditional laptop to send e-mails etc. The 14” screen is a perfect balance for work and entertainment. I enjoyed the fingerprint unlock feature since I am not a big fan of the face ID type of log in feature that is being pushed b windows now. In terms of specs you won’t find anything crazy special here but it will get the job done. You will not be gaming on here but in terms of typical productivity and entertainment you will be hard pressed to find something better. The track pad is responsive, the keyboard is well though out, the speakers are sufficient to listen to music or watch videos, and the backlit keyboard makes it very easy to work in dim conditions. In addition you can go full touchscreen/tablet mode which I enjoy using more often than I though I would like. The battery life is about what I'd expect from a laptop of this size, and the USB C charger solution is preferred. The versatility and portability is what puts this 14” notebook over the top.
