Big speaker with big sound

The XB30 is a big, heavy portable speaker that can fill a room with sound. Pairing with an iPad and also an Android smartphone was a snap, and I experienced very little static or lag moving upwards of 20-25 feet from the speaker. This unit features an Extra Bass button, and you really need it: when off, the sound lacks the full, rich signature Sony sound.
One of the selling points of this machine is a lights feature. This speaker can flash like a strobe light or emanate mood lighting for different settings like cool, warm, party, etc. While it is a nice feature, accessing it requires the downloading of a free app to your smart device, which can be a turn-off for consumers.
Soundwise, the XB30 is really a room-filler. Physically, it's not as small as some other devices on the market, but what you lack in portability you gain in massive sonic appeal. Bottom line, this is what you're really looking for.

Coffee made (more or less) complicated

The Ninja Coffee Bar looks like an eyeful. It has most of the bells and whistles you'd expect from a coffee creator of this caliber: large 50 oz. glass carafe; parts that are easy to disassemble and clean; an efficient, minimal step-by-step process; and even a robust coffee recipe book. While it is surprisingly missing one major facet of your morning coffee routine, the Ninja Coffee Bar is an impressive machine overall.
I liked the little things. The button placement is sensible, from the clear displays, to the drip stopper, to the coffee size dial. The milk frother, if you like that sort of thing, slides easily behind the machine. The reusable filter is a plus, but it also gives you the option to use throwaways if that's your jam. Even the coffee scoop is attachable, sensibly placed on the machine, and contains simple scooping instructions for the coffee novice.
The machine gives you options to make coffee at a variety of temperatures, and a full pot of coffee will take 3-4 minutes tops depending on the desired temperature. And speaking of time, the self-cleaning process is a nice touch, but it took longer than I had expected. Plan to perform maintenance at night or at times you don't desire a cup.
The one major disappointment I found was the lack of a coffee bean grinder, which is shocking from a Ninja brand popularized by its blender line. It's more surprising than disappointing, I suppose, as the features of the Ninja Coffee Bar more than make up for its one deficiency.
Coffee connoisseurs will enjoy the variety of functions and recipes the machine provides, while coffee tourists will like the single-serving styles and simple choices. The best feature of the Ninja Coffee Bar is that it has a little something for everyone.

The Linksys Velop is a sleek, efficient wi-fi system that provides seamless coverage to your entire home. The package arrives with minimal setup and straightforward instruction: download the Linksys app, connect to your current router and/or modem configuration, and then simply follow the two or three steps to connect.
The system has three nodes to place in separate areas of your home. The recommendation is to place them out in the open, and they look stylish enough to do so, but I ended up hiding them in various corners and nooks out of sight. My coverage did not take any hit. My home is less than 2000 sq. ft, well within the capable 6000 sq. ft. coverage advertised.
The system works as advertised. As soon as I switched over, the difference was noticeable. Coverage in the furthest area from my router is as strong as it is sitting next to it. The app gives you the option to prioritize up to three devices, though with more than 10 items in use, none of these devices are experiencing any noticeable dropoff.
The Velop is simple to setup and provides amazing wi-fi to your full house. Highly recommended for any household or business that relies on seamless coverage.

A Great All-In-One for On-The-Go

Bottom line first: The Philips Norelco is remarkable gadget for quick trimming and grooming, combining versatility, reliability, and portability for a person on the go.
I'm a razor guy, and I haven't trusted an electric shaver for years. My problem usually stems from having to trim over the same area multiple times to get even a hint of the closeness of a true razor shave.
This trimmer won't replace a meticulous shave, but it will get you close to where you want to be in a fraction of the time. The gadget arrived fully discharged, so I tested a full charge session to occur in a very short time (roughly 45 minutes). The trimmer is lightweight and pocket-sized, and the package arrived with a pouch, recharge cables, and multiple heads for all the different areas you choose to shave, including nose hair trimmer and body hair groomer.
Maybe the best quality of this product is the "shower-proof" aspect - being able to use this trimmer in the shower and not worrying about electric shock is a huge plus and a major time-saver. And one thing I noticed was the shaver wasn't as noisy as my previous electric trimmers, a nice plus when you are trimming near your ears.
The placement of the power button sort of bothered me, as there were a few times when gripping the shaver caused random power-offs, but that's about it on the negative side.
Overall, this is pretty much all you need for a do-all shaving and trimming tool. While it won't replace your razor when you have the time to groom, it will save you minutes a day and provide ample versatility for all your grooming needs. For a person who travels or is constantly on the move, it is just the right tool.

User-friendly software with a pro touch

Adobe Photoshop Elements 15 & Premiere Elements 15 are as robust of image and video manipulation programs as any other on the consumer level market. This program collection provides an easy platform to import still and moving pictures, edit images and movies, and organize photo and video libraries. While not leaps and bounds of an improvement over the previous popular iteration, it does provide loads of art effects, photo enhancement options, picture manipulation tools, and enough goodies to keep you busy. It's more than you need, really, especially for non-professionals.
Installation and startup was quick and easy. I had the option to install on either a Mac or PC out of the box, so I went with my MacBook Pro. A disc is provided, but lacking an optical drive, I followed easy instructions to download the necessary files from the Adobe website. They are fairly large file sizes for both programs, but once fully downloaded, setup took less than five minutes to get up and running.
Photoshop Elements 15 provides more than enough photo manipulation and organizing options. I really liked the Instant Fix option - when you organize your photos, the software will auto-adjust the photos for color, clarity, and other variables with ease. I also appreciated the search function for photos and some of the tagging and auto-tagging abilities after importing photo libraries. Sharing is easy too, as you can create albums, collages, or scrapbooks and share directly from the software to your network of friends and family. This is really an easy introduction to novice Photoshop users interested in a variety of editing tools and in a more professional look to their photos.
On the video editing side of things, Premiere Elements 15 tweaks the previous build with small, subtle updates. The facial recognition during video editing is impressive, though I must admit I was a little overwhelmed using most of the video editing tools. I appreciated the guided editing option during one home video manipulation session, which seems helpful to the more novice of consumers who will use this feature but is a useful tool for all users nonetheless.
One noticeable drawback was the amount of screen real estate that is occupied when the program is open with its default settings. The software was installed onto a MacBook Pro 13" and the editing area appears very small onscreen, though I am reluctant to tinker with the settings enough to see what I can do to adjust this small inconvenience.
Overall, these are well-built programs for the everyday user at a fraction of the cost of the Photoshop and Premiere Pro standard software. This edition of Elements is perfect for consumers who are underwhelmed by some of the free options out there and are looking to add a professional touch to their photos and videos.

Not the smartest hub... but will get better

Fancy box, contemporary design, and effortless startup make the Google Home a pleasing "unboxing" experience. Once you find a place for it in your house (I put it bedside and demoted the clock radio to the guest room), shuffle through the enclosed literature for ideas on what to ask this little, powerful talking search engine.
The Google Home gives you immediate access to your Google Music library, but for early adopters, it also comes with 6 free months of YouTube Red - early adopters will enjoy free, ad-free music, podcasts, and YouTube video (on your other, YouTube-enabled devices), as well as original entertainment content almost instantaneously after speaking the search. I don't have a Chromecast, but I'm led to believe connecting one to my HDTV will enable voice control at some point, so this is something to consider.
Verbally adjusting the volume is a cinch, and I was able to set up some workday, wake-up alarms by simply stating "Ok Google..." followed by the time and type of music playlist I want to hear in the morning. Instead of reaching over for the snooze bar, I spoke some snooze instructions and got my extra 5 minutes of shut eye. I don't know if this is a good or bad thing, but it's definitely easy.
The drawback to the Google Home is that it is not as robust as the other major smart-home hub on the market, the Echo/Echo Dot. There were quite a few instances where Google Home didn't quite understand the request I was making. The third-party support as of today pales in comparison to the all-consuming virtual, smart world Alexa brings to the table right now. However, it's not hard to imagine the Google Home catching up and eventually overtaking the Amazon giant in the "smart market."
Cost-conscious consumers who want smart-everything right now should grab an Echo Dot and enjoy talking their lights on and off to their hearts content. Early users of the Google Home may find the content somewhat lacking at first, but Google has laid the framework for a device that should, over time, become the standard centerpiece for a smart-enabled home.

First things first: this phone looks and feels like an iPhone, and that's not a coincidence. Aside from a few button configurations (and one big missing one), the Google Pixel XL looks like it wants to seamlessly port iPhone users over to Android, and the design, right down to the unfortunate missing expandable microSD slot, will do just that.
Speaking of Android, the Pixel XL comes pre-loaded with the most current Android OS, Nougat. Features like Google Assistant, onscreen multitasking, and more robust notification trees are available right out of the box.
So about the experience...
First off, this is probably the best phone I've ever owned. This is coming from a former iPhone 6s user and current Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge owner. Apple's phones felt restrictive and niche; the Galaxy on the other hand, while a beautiful handheld, has several buggy features that constantly annoy and interrupt. The Pixel XL combines the best features of both: the sleek design of an iPhone with the freedom and customizable features of Android.
The dual speakers at the bottom of the phone are noticeably louder than my Samsung. The screen is big, bright, and beautiful - I especially like the programmable low, blue lighting feature to use at night time which greatly reduces eye strain. The buttons have good firmness to them, so I'm not worried about accidental presses like I constantly do with the Galaxy Edge.
One interesting thing of note: the entire front of the phone has no physical button. The bottom, where you'd expect some kind of home button, is a clean (dust-free) panel that appears to only be present as a symmetry point to the top of the phone. The home, previous, and recent buttons are fully integrated into the display - while this is aesthetically pleasing, you do lose some screen real estate when these buttons need to be accessed.
Video quality for this phone is excellent. 4K video is an option, but not defaulted, and the photo quality is beautiful. I like the onscreen exposure control option, which is a nice touch, literally.
The phone comes with a computer cable of the new USB-C variety. The charging speed is pretty impressive. It also comes with a USB-C transfer dongle and an abnormally large wall adapter. It is absurdly large, I will never use it unless it was necessary.
Not gonna lie: this is the phone I've been waiting for. If you are an iPhone user interested in Android, this is the perfect transition. If you are a Google user tired of the wonky features of other Android phones, this is the upgrade you've wanted. Google got it right.

Good mop, decent vacuum, some issues

Overall, the Bissell Crosswave is a decent product- very easy assembly, simple design, and for the most part it does its job well. I used this upright on my kitchen floor (porcelain), living room hardwood floor, and on a large area rug. The instructions are easy to follow, and it's nice to have the simple, quick tutorials stickered right on the machine. I didn't like the heavy extension cord which constantly got tangled and in the way of performing the job, though it was effectively long enough to not worry about replugging during use. One thing that seemed to be an issue was the position of the buttons seemed to cause accidental presses which would turn the vacuum off, something I found to be inconvenient. I did like the light at the front of the vacuum which I found helpful in darker areas of the house. The turning angles were passable, though I do have another vacuum that drops much lower and turns at a much more pronounced angle than this, so it is somewhat disappointing on that front. Also of note is that this machine does not come with any accessories or hose extensions- it is simply a vacuum/floor cleaner.
The results of the vacuum looked great. The kitchen and hardwood were noticeably clean and after using it three times over a period of three weeks in these specific areas, I'm happy with the result. The area rug also turned out surprisingly well for a multisurface machine. The vacuum comes with a couple of different cleaning solutions for different surfaces, and they do not look too expensive to worry about repurchases. However, I think a good homemade soap/water solution will do the job fine.
The vacuum side of the machine was passable. It needs a few rollovers to get to some floor dirt, and it needs more than a few for the carpet. I wouldn't recommend this for its vacuum functions, but it's nice to be able to suck up the grime and dirt after breaking it down with the cleaning solutions, which I'm sure is its primary function.
The vacuum comes with a plastic stand that looks useless, but it serves an interesting purpose during cleaning of the machine. Cleanup is very easy, but there are instructions provided to guide you through the process. Overall, the size and handle of the vacuum is comparable to most market vacs, and its lack of extensions or mechanical trivialities makes it very simple to use. The floor washing aspect is the prize of the machine, while the vacuum portion is more of an afterthought.

Easy setup, solid coverage

I received the Linksys MAX-STREAM™ AC1900 wireless range extender in exchange for my honest review.
In short, the device is easy to setup and provides seamless extended coverage of my wireless network. Icing on the cake is that it is not an eyesore: it is basically a plug-n-play unit that is extremely compact and tucked away in an area of the house away from view while providing coverage for what were previously dead zones.
My router is an older unit (2 years old, 2.4 GHz) rented from my service provider (Verizon FiOS), and I used the quick install process (instructions provided) to quickly and easily connect the unit. Took about 5 minutes from start to finish, and now I enjoy full coverage for the entirety of my 1800+ square foot, split level (4 levels) house and in the areas of the backyard and front yard in which I tested the unit's coverage.
Best parts of the product include the ease of setup, reliable extended coverage, and compact, no-nonsense design. I have not found anything to criticize after two weeks of usage. This is a great buy for home networks in houses with multiple levels.

This is the biggest refrigerator I've ever seen. It has all the bells and whistles you expect from a bottom-freezer, French-door fridge, including outside water/ice dispenser, color-indicator compartments, and adjustable shelving. It has some creative, interesting new features too, like the hot water dispenser and touchscreen control panel with multiple levels of customization, including uploading your own pictures via USB drive.
Delivery was on time, it arrived in good working order with no dents, and I've had no issues with it since it's been installed a week ago. I love this thing.

You can charge it on the cradle without taking off the casing. The case is designed to have enough open space near its bottom where the gamepad will rest on the cradle.
