Smart speaker, smart buy, some hiccups

Sony's LFS50G combines room-filling sound, space-saving design, and smart assistant capabilities that transforms the little speaker into the central hub of any room.
Google Assistant works flawlessly with this device. Once connected, smart commands were responsive and clear, up to par with my other Google Assistant-enabled devices. The LFS50G integrated with my current smart home setup seamlessly, and I was able to make requests and control smart lighting immediately after connecting to the home Wi-Fi network.
The speaker also connects wirelessly to mobile devices via Bluetooth, and I found the range to be sufficient (across three rooms and three floors away, connection was passable). Consumers are advised to utilize Google Play services to not rely on external devices, however the Bluetooth capabilities are a nice touch.
The device boasts touch-free controls, but I found them to be cumbersome and spotty. For example, twirling your index finger above the device to simply adjust the volume felt silly, and it was a little annoying while attempting to find the target volume. Concurrently, simply swiping over the device to shuffle through songs worked well, though having to sit near the device to perform the task felt constricting.
Visually, the circular design is very pleasing and while it feels a bit voluminous, the size allows for a solid, rich sound. It lacks true portability, however, as it does not have a rechargeable battery and it runs on AC power.
The LFS50G represents a nice addition into both the speaker and smart hub world from Sony. This product is a good fit for novice smart device shoppers looking to upgrade older speakers while dipping their toes into the smart market. It's not a perfect device, but it is definitely a nice upgrade for most consumers.

Good sound, nice features

With a well balanced sound, Google Assistant connectivity, nice fit options, and of course the true wireless feature, the Jaybird Run earbuds are a solid option for all users, not just workout junkies or active runners.
The headphones come with a number of extras - charging case, pouch, multiple fittings, micro-USB cable - all with simple instructions in a nice packaging. Pairing is very simple three-step process: open case, find on your device, connect. Once paired, the earbuds will automatically connect to your device whenever you open the case. The device fit perfectly into my ears out of the box, but the fit options should be able to accommodate most ear sizes. They aren't very bulky, but they are more noticeable in the ear than some comparable brands. I was very happy with their stability during multiple runs.
The sound coming from these earbuds is very good. It's not dynamic or anything, just solid. There's an optional downloadable app that allows you to equalize at your leisure, but I found the default settings were passable for my use.
Battery life was surprisingly good. Advertised at 4 hours after a full charge, I was able to reach this at minimum numerous times. A 5-minute charge will get you an hour of playtime as well, extremely useful when you're not mindful of charging all the time and need a quick run. The included pill case has easily visible LEDs to notify its charging status, though I did find the external button to open the case seemed too easily pushed by accident, causing a few incidental pairings when I wasn't using the earbuds.
There aren't any volume control buttons like most wireless headphones, so be prepared to have your device handle those duties, unless you are comfortable asking Google Assistant to adjust your volume for you (it's fine on a run but a little obtrusive on a crowded commute).
Overall, I'm very pleased with the Jaybird Run Headphones. Full disclosure, I was provided this product for my unbiased, honest review.

Acer's S271HL monitor jumps out with beautiful colors and glowing detail throughout its 27" screen real estate. This beauty is edge-to-edge horizontally, providing a semblance of full immersion during gaming sessions or video streaming binges. Ultra clear and fully HD (1920 x 1080), the monitor should be able to handle the needs for most users.
Lightweight and pretty thin, the screen sits on a provided lockable stand, but I would recommend utilizing the VESA mounting capability. It has three input options (DVI, VGA, HDMI) for easy plug-and-play, and the headphone jack doubles as a stereo input for my needs - I plugged a streaming stick into the HDMI port, and with a small 2.1 speaker system connected through the headphone jack, I was able to turn this little setup into the guestroom's multimedia center.
It's combination of onscreen, edge-to-edge beauty, lightweight and slim size, and ease of use makes the Acer S271HL a no-brainer. Full disclosure, I was given this product for my honest, unbiased review.

Pour wine without removing the cork by using the Coravin Model Two wine system. The durable needle pierces the cork so you can pour, and then the cork reseals when the needle is removed to preserve the remaining wine. Preserves bottles nicely, with slight flaws

Designed to be compact, simple, and functional, Coravin's Model Two wine system checks all the boxes. The device is small and thin enough to be stored in a drawer. The secure clamp allows the system to clip snuggly and form-fitted around the neck of a wine bottle, though I would have liked a tightener function to fully dispel my worries that the bottle would slide off the device. It's packaged with a wine bottle sleeve (seems useless) and, among other things, two pressurized argon gas capsules - no pouch or carrying case, however, so safe storage for these is on you (Coravin does offer a travel case and a "Plus" option that comes with it).
Functionally, the wine system works wonderfully. The provided instructions aren't the most discernible, but using the device is quite easy: simply clamp it to the bottle neck; slowly pierce the cork with the needle; turn it upside-down; press the gas button; and let the wine pour from the spout.
The device is designed to prevent oxidation inside the bottle, so it allows tasting or full glass pouring and re-storage, without noticeable dulling of flavors in future pours. I tested it multiple times on several bottles - I found I was able to get three pierces into a corked bottle before it began to leak because it was unable to fully reseal.
Cleanup is as simple as rinsing and drying the needle and spout. I would recommend a dedicated storage container or area for this device: while quite sturdy, it does have small parts that require some delicate handling.
Overall, this is a device that should make any wine enthusiast happy. Full disclosure, I received this product for my honest, unbiased review.

Comfortable fit, well-balanced sound

Once you've made the leap into the wireless headphone market, there are quite a few qualities that will shape your experience: comfort and fit, easy of use, volume level and sound quality, minimal disruption, battery life... it can get a little overwhelming. Luckily, the Beoplay H4 from Bang & Olufsen checks all the boxes, providing a solid entry for audiophiles and casual consumers alike.
Most notably, right out of the box these headphones are light as a feather, maybe the lightest I've ever felt for a bluetooth headset of this quality. It has a clean look with simple features - I like the design of the very minimal button placement - and once over your ears, the comfort stands out. There isn't any pinching or over-squeezing as the soft earpieces fit perfectly snug and the lightweight band sits overhead. Depending on how long you want to wear these things, it can't be overstated how important the fit is. I left them on for a couple of 3-hour sessions and had very little discomfort. This speaks to the solid battery life as well, with an advertised 19-hour use before needing a charge. You probably won't be wearing them for that long, but it's a nice perk.
Once you get over the build and fit, simply pair to your device, connect and start listening. I had no problems finding the Beoplay H4 on my Android phone, and after that, navigating the little buttons to increase volume, scan through songs, or turn the headset off and on was super easy.
The sound quality was amazing through various types of audio - music and podcasts were exceptional, and receiving phone calls was passable. Vocals and bass balanced very nicely at various volumes. While this is not a true noise-cancelation device, background noise was mostly minimal. And speaking of disruptions, putting my phone in my back pocket or leaving it charging by the wall and walking out the door to the end of my driveway did little to disrupt the sound quality. It was a pleasant surprise that I didn't experience much, if any, static or any disconnection that comes with some of my other headsets.
The Beoplay H4 is my headset of choice. Its combination of reliability, comfort, and sound quality provides everything I could ask for in a pair of bluetooth headphones.

Beautiful picture, sound could be better

I'm amazed by the crisp, detailed picture quality on Epson's PowerLite Home Cinema 1060. Stunning visuals with superb motion picture, the 1060 is bright and colorful and has enough power to keep up with your 1080p HD video playback (4K is not supported), gaming systems, or streaming needs. Tested on a muted white wall, the screen can be stretched out to 300" or shrunken to a smaller, conventional size, but the picture does not lose much, if any, detail at the extremes. Visually, it really creates a theater-like atmosphere.
The 1060 is not light (about 6 lbs. out of the box), but it is plug-and-play ready out of the box and only needs power and an entertainment source to get going. Startup is pretty quick with a single button push; the remote is a little busy and will take getting used to. Positioning the projector was a simple task of finding a sweet spot straight onto the blank wall, but the picture will stay rectangular with the projector in multiple positions with easy angle adjustment features.
Most disappointing is the built-in speaker which leaves a lot to be desired. It gets fairly loud, but you will be missing truly distinguishable highs and anything resembling passable bass. It is recommended to pair this with a good soundbar or full stereo system during viewing.
The projector worked very well with both a Google Chromecast and an Amazon Firestick. Casting from an iPad to the Chromecast, picture quality and video controls translated seamlessly. The Firestick responded flawlessly as well - both devices started up very quickly after plugging into the MHL HDMI port. I also tested the 1060 with a PS4 and found the visuals to be breathtaking in pitch black darkness, but even with some room lighting, the colors did not darken and fade as much as I would have thought.
Overall, the PowerLite 1060 provides lots of visual punch for your home theater but needs a little help on the audio side. If you can pair this with a surround sound system, you're well on your way to creating a wonderful home cinema experience.

Linksys has really stepped it up with the WRT32X, a dual-band gaming router that boasts the power to reduce lag time, to improve your online gaming, and to control and customize your connectivity. And for non-gamers, this device has the qualities to consider when in the market for a Wi-Fi router.
The machine is well-designed and easy to setup (though I did need to reset the router once at the beginning to get it going). I was impressed by the no-nonsense menu; unlike other more complicated router setups, I can see minimal issues for even the most technological novice that needs a more reliable network. Navigation through the interface was very straightforward, even through some of the customization menus in the advanced settings - surprising for such a powerful machine.
Straight to the point, though, gaming using this router was as good as advertised. Where it really shined was with a glut of connected devices running simultaneously on the single network: three smart TVs, one of which streaming 4K video; numerous portables; multiple tablets running video streaming apps; mobile phones; smart devices; etc. Through the technological jungle, my laptop gaming experience went literally without a hitch. Of note, I manually prioritized my laptop to the top of the queue during my testing; still, the 4K movie stream played lag-free in the living room. While my experience is unique, I have confidence this device would satisfy the needs of most serious gamers.
Even though the WRT32X was built to prioritize gaming, I found that its exceptional performance under the stress of a barrage of devices makes this machine attractive to gamers and non-gamers alike, and especially in high data-traffic areas like dorms or apartments. A combination of sturdy, beautiful design and fast, reliable performance makes this an easy recommendation.

With a name like "MultiReach Bagless Cordless Stick Vacuum," you pretty much know what you should be getting, and this Bissell entry does a pretty solid job on all fronts:
Multireach: The vac can be used as an upright vac with the extension and roller, a small handheld, or an extended handheld for high ceilings or out of reach areas with the extension and nozzles. The multiple nozzles allow for various surfaces and they all do reasonably well.
Bagless: No bag needed. Bag? Who uses bags with vacuums? Anyway, the dirt collects in a small, clear container that has a removable filter in the center. This filter was a little bit of a pain to clean, however.
Cordless: Advertises 20 minutes of run-time (pretty standard) after a 4-hour charge (seems a little long, but you can spot clean as needed after a short charge). I was able to get about 15-17 straight minutes non-stop before it automatically shut down. I kind of wish it warned me before it just stopped abruptly.
Stick Vacuum: The design is nice - short, thin, green and black, and not too heavy (around 5 lbs.). I was a little disappointed that the nozzles are not hangable on the vac, but it is forgiven in that the design remains aesthetically pleasing (although one nozzle does slide in fully hidden).
This vacuum works well on multiple surfaces, surprisingly. Wooden and tiled floors were a cinch, but I was quite pleased with the job done on rugs and carpeting. Dirt disposal was pretty painless except for the filter issue. Aside from the few aforementioned issues, this Bissell vac is a great product. It won't replace your heavy duty upright vac, but it is a well-designed, easily portable alternative option.

Monster blender, smoothie everything, easy cleanup

I'm sold on the E310 from Vitamix. This blender is easy to use and impressive to watch in action. Simply add ingredients (in the suggested order), flip the switch, and then slowly turn the speed dial to the desired speed for the proper consistency. Adding greens into fruits, yogurt, etc. and turning it into a tasty smoothie is effortless. Cleanup is straightforward: blend some dish soap with tap water and then rinse - 1 minute, tops.
The machine is heavy and stable, and its no-frills design is crafted nicely to handle the impressive high velocity blending action. Its combination of clutter-free design, reliable functionality, and easy cleanup make the Vitamix E310 an easy recommendation.

The Philips Avance Collection Masticating Juice Extractor works well. I love the slim, lightweight design which allows for versatile positioning in several kitchen areas. However, the smaller size does force a little bit of extra prep time of the ingredients to get everything small or narrow enough to put through the juicer. Not that big a deal, but a bigger unit might be preferable to some.
The machine is loud but not nearly as noisy as some other juicers I've used, and operation is simple. The included recipe book is nice, but I was able to create a number of wild combinations using the juicer without worrying about portioning, taste viability, healthiness, etc. Ginger everything, I say! A plus is being able to make your drink directly into your glass and not worry about the mess with the drip stopper spout.
The parts are easily detachable and simple to reassemble. Cleanup isn't as quick as advertised (I think a minute is quite a reach, especially for some ingredients), but it's easy enough to not be burdensome over several uses if you can plan for the cleanup ahead of time. The first time I cleaned this was a little bit of a headache.
Overall, this unit is a great juicer for on-the-go or quick energy drinks, especially for people short on kitchen area and want a well-designed, no-frills machine. Just leave time for cleanup.

You can charge it on the cradle without taking off the casing. The case is designed to have enough open space near its bottom where the gamepad will rest on the cradle.
