Great convenience, not great sound

I was really looking forward to cutting the cord on my workout/yard work headphones but unfortunately, I'm not sure these will do it for me. I may be spoiled by my current wired headset and may be jaded on the sound quality I was expecting. It may be an unfair comparison but it's the one I have. Setup was pretty easy and getting the buds to connect to each other was straight forward. Once that was complete I pulled up some music and found the sound quality to be somewhat "thin". There was little to no bass and the sound was somewhat tingy. On the plus side, I love the case for charging and are convenient to take with you. If you listen to talk radio or audio books these would be good options. If you are looking for rich in-depth sound these miss the mark but from what I understand this is not uncommon with wireless earbuds. It's all about the trade off.

Very versatile

As someone who is not a photographer, many times I need to "touch up" the photos I take. Not to mention, keeping them organized is a whole other thing. This package allows for organizing all my photos and touching up imperfections. It is pretty straight forward but I would caution that not unlike many photo/video editing programs, I would recommend a computer with good memory and a decent CPU. Mine is an i7 with 32GB of ram so I can't speak to using on a machine with less memory. It is barely moving the meter on CPU or memory usage so I can only assume it would be fine on a machine with 8GM of memory. As for pictures, there are a number of edits that can be done and some with the click of a single button so even a novice can make changes. Now this package may work for more advanced photographers it meets the needs of the occasional picture taker.

Surface into a Laptop?

I have used the Microsoft Surface keyboards since I purchased it. They are lightweight, but tend to be a bit flimsy. The Brydge gives my surface the look and feel of a solid laptop. After getting it paired, which took me a bit because I didn't hit enter after entering the code, it worked like a pro. The texture of the case is very much like the metal on the Surface. You can adjust the back lighting and it has all the functions found on an advanced keyboard including volume, email and sound hot keys. It says that a charge should last several months so we will see. If the battery is anything like the rest of the keyboard I have no doubt. Probably one of the nicest features is it's ability to hold the surface upright without the kickstand. Now, it does add a bit of weight but this is without a doubt the best accessory for a Surface Pro for anyone who uses their Surface as a laptop replacement.

Better than I expected

As someone who goes through headphones I end up trying a number of them. These surprised me as they are reasonably priced with above average features. I decided to give them a go with me doing my rowing machine. This is usually a good test as I've only had one other pair stay securely in my ear; until now. These are extremely light weight and I figured they'd fall out after the first row but they made it through the workout without budging! Now that I confirmed that they would stay in place I listened to my workout music which ranges from classic 80's to hip-hop to classical. I've heard better sound it $300 headphones, but these aren't $300 headphones. Even that being the case these have a good sound that is perfect during a workout. I don't believe these are noise cancelling but that really isn't an issue when I'm exercising. The woven cover on the cord would indicate that these should last a while. They do have a mic so you can talk and walk if you like. These are a good alternative to other exercise gear headphones that are more than double the price.

Exceptional clarity for a small camera

Don't be fooled by the size of the camera. The picture it captures is remarkable. In full view the picture is as crisp and sharp almost to the point of being 4k clear. The picture looks great in both low light and a bright room. Before I go into too much detail on the picture I'll start with the setup. About as simple as it can get. One thing to note, you do need to plug the base unit into an Ethernet jack, no wifi for the base station. Once that is done, power it up and as soon as the green lights come on, it's ready to pair the cameras. Similar to a WPS button on a router, press the pair button on the base and then the one on the camera, give the flashing light a few seconds and you're paired. I did two camera in less than thirty seconds. I used the "store" for my phone and downloaded the app. Followed the instructions and the app and the base station were in sync. Overall setup took less than 10 minutes.
Now, I've already mentioned that the picture quality is outstanding. Now the nice thing is you can adjust camera brightness, sound levels both hearing and speaking and of course recording video. One thing to note if you turn on notifications, it is very good at notifying you when motion is detected, almost too good. I received 18 notification in the span of the first 6 minutes the cameras were up and running. Once I found the setting you can adjust the sensitivity of motion and to only send alerts during certain times, like when no one should be home. You can also turn it off completely if this is not an issue.
Overall, these cameras are a very good choice for a home monitoring/surveillance system.

Great upgrade

This unit replaced my existing thermostat for a couple reasons. First is the cool factor. This looks great on the wall. Second, it has very easy setup and scheduling. And lastly, it is WiFi compatible. As for installation, it is pretty easy but if you are not comfortable with all the wires and depending on your systems there could be eight, call someone who knows. It is however very simple because the unit comes with labels for your existing wiring so as long as you're not replacing a thermostat from the 70's an average DIY person should be able to do this. I was up and running in about 7 minutes. No kidding. This unit was smaller that its predecessor so I did have to do some touch up painting. You do have to use a web browser to register it so you can control it remotely but that was straightforward as well as joining to WiFi. It is easy to program following the guide or you can do it manually. Overall this is a great device and I will be adding another to my second floor.

An assistant with all the answers

I have become accustomed to typing things in on my phone to get answers. Well now it's as simple as asking a question and getting an immediate response. Simply say "hey Google..." and you're off. Setup was amazingly simple and was done in about 2 minutes. It has a built in clock for easy display. Sound quality is good but not exceptional but the ease of getting to music is surprising. Overall I would highly recommend this for someone who is looking to add a personal assistant to their home.

Great device, not so easy setup

I got this to connect to my second garage door opener since it works well just didn't have the features I have on my Chamberlain WiFi opener. Right out the gate i have a complaint about the setup instructions. They do NOT include all the steps needed to get up and running which was very frustrating! So to save you some time here are the items that are missing. Follow the instructions and when it says to plug in the device do so, then go to your mobile device and select the device from your list of wifi networks. Once connected, open a web browser and use the setup.myqdevice and add the .com at the end and it will walk you through the rest. This part may have been missing for me since I already had another MyQ device setup. Once this is done you go back to the app and add your current opener it will operate and you are off to the races. Once I got past the frustration of missing instruction it was all good. It does work just like my integrated Chamberlain door opener.

I recently upgraded my desktop for my business to a 6 core AMD Phenom II processor and figured my 4 GB of memory would be enough. Although performance is amazing it just didn't seem to be where I thought it should be so I swapped out the four 1GB sticks for four 2GB sticks. Of all that's holy this things screams now! I have yet to come close to maxing out memory or CPU utilization even while burning a DVD, streaming video from the net and working on a presentation; 8% for CPU and 19% for memory.

After finally getting frustrated with the modem provided by the cable company I decided to get my own. Of course they asked why since I wasn't paying to lease the one I had. Well their own speed tests confirmed I had throughput of about 9Mbps on a good day when I'm paying for 20Mbps service. I swapped out the old modem with the Motorola, called them with the MAC ID and was up and running in a matter of minutes. Of course the first thing was to perform a speed test, the same one that I used before the swap. 20.6Mbps! Not only is my internet connection substantially faster but the built in WiFi has a better reach than my previous router AND the home network runs faster since I've eliminated a piece of equipment; stand alone router. My home network is used quite extensively too; 3 cell phones, 2 ipads, two laptops, 1 desktop, 2 home servers, 2 gaming consoles, 4 Blu-ray players, 1 stereo and a security system. This router/modem hasn't missed a beat yet!

9 month update

In all fairness I feel it is necessary to post an update to my previous post. First, 90 days after I installed it the WiFi would drop and not reconnect until i rebooted the modem. This normally would be that big of a deal except my home automation and alarm system run off the WiFi connection. When WiFi is lost for an extended period the security system will alert me with a continuous beeping until I deactivate it; even at 3 in the morning! Took it back and exchanged it for another thinking I may have just gotten a bad apple. Unfortunately that was not the case. Four months later the newer one started doing the same thing. There were times even rebooting would not solve the problem. As nice as it would have been to have one device that did the job of three, this was not it! Even the wired connections were beginning to run slow. I had upgraded my Time Warner to the 100Mbp package and was getting about 25 in most cases. Back to the store (yes I got the extended warranty) and I decided to go back to two devices. I went with the SB6141 which is basically the same device without wireless and routing. Plugged my Dlink DIR-655 wireless router into the 6141 and haven't looked back. The concept of an all in one device is great but the execution was well below expectation. One other thing, the interface used to configure the modem is basic at best. Most features are either on or off and some you just can't configure. Overall I would not recommend this product after using it for just under a year.

Will dvr change from each camera view continuously? Also is a 4k monitor required?, Are all 8 cables included?
You can configure the DVR to record on motion only by camera, or continuously record all cameras. It can even be setup to only record at certain times of the day. As for viewing, you can look at one camera at a time or all cameras at once. You can even create a tour that will rotate through specific cameras. A 4K monitor is not required but just like any screen it will affect the detail you see. everything was included to connect all the cameras the system came with. Hope that helps.

Is it possible to replace the hard drive with a different SSD?
Anything is possible but the reality is, is it worth it? IF it is similar to previous Surface laptops there are four torx screws under the rubber feet that once removed will allow the keyboard to be removed and provide access to the HD. For the record, I have not done this on a Surface Laptop 4, nor do I recommend it as it would void your warranty, but have seen it done on previous models so there is no guarantee the design is the same. No it does not although that would be a great option. If you go through a lot of ice or entertain I would recommend the optional side water tank that connects to the unit.
